Review Hog's Breath Cafe - Rockhampton

Went out to lunch with an old school friend & my kids at around 3pm...it was absolutely lovely, as it wasn't packed. The staff were great & the food was tasty

Rubbish. An absolute waste of money. Waited 45 mins for 2 mains and there was only 4 tables of people, had to go to the bar and order drinks. Wait staff wandering around doing very little. When meal arrived serving was small -lamb shank. And steak was terrible tasted like old roast beef. We did complain about meal quality in store also. On leaving saw cooks out the back having a smoke break- what a joke. 5 years ago this would have been one of the best places to eat. Now sorry to say, bad food, bad atmosphere, untrained staff, poor management. We won't be back.

Average at best! My friend and our 2 kids under 4 went for dinner last night and it was busy but not excessively and waited almost 20 mins for our drink order, half an hour for our entree and over an hour for our kids meals and mains. The steaks were really nice but the sides were not up to scratch, my salad was limp and uninviting and the chips were cold and under cooked. The kids meals were OK but nothing to write home about. After such a long wait we were hoping for a great meal at the least. The manager discounted our bill by removing the kids meals from the total and appologiesed which was nice but thinking back on past experiences here and my more recent visit I would not recommend you waste your time or money here

Staff are friendly and agreed to let us change tables after already being seated and offered suggestions on the menu. It was quiet when we got there so meals came out very quickly. Food was fairly average when compared to other steak orientated places we've been but wasn't bad. The portion size was a little on the small side across the three meals we ordered, that would be the only shortcoming of the visit otherwise it was a good experience.

We arrived and were promptly seated and served which was great, our drinks and good came out reasonably fast but we were a little disappointed that our order had been muddled up. One of my family requested veges and no fries and received only fries, another of my family requested the veges instead of salad and received a sad looking salad. Then we ordered dessert and were disappointed with the scrap of icecream that arrived with the Mississippi Mud cake. This obviously isn't a big deal as we would have ordered icecream if we wanted icecream, but a scoop of icecream next to the cake would be better next time. It just came off as a bit poor when we had paid more than we normally would for dessert. We would probably go back, but it won't be our first choice any time soon. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Disappointed that we had to wait for an hour for our meals then to have my pork cut in half, I can only guess to check the cook of it. The kids meals came out staggered too. Then when we went to finalise the bill with a gold hogs breath card the staff didn't know how it worked and told us that it wasn't valid for a discount then to change that to a $13 discount on a $130 bill.

Oh so sad Hogs, you always deliver but this visit I have been left sooo disappointed, Our waiter was no more interested in us or our order then he would have been watching the election!! Then when our meals arrived mmm cold steak and mushrooms, a slap together production of a kids cheeseburger, what makes me even more dissatisfied was you weren't even busy for a Saturday night, now I clearly see why So upset!!

Great night wonderful staff .great experience. Lucy our waitress was fantastic made us feel welcome and did an amazing job 😉😎☝️
