Review Masala Indian Cuisine - Rockhampton

To be fair we were there on a Wednesday night. Been hearing the ad on the radio over the past five months working here & finally made it here on the final night of our swing. The Currys here are deliciously creamy & cooked to perfection. The restaurant is a plain design & has no atmosphere. A little background noise definitely would add to the experience. Take aways were busy & is a reflection of the food. & Remember "You don't have to have it hot!!!"

Disappointing. The only flavour was far too much sugar and cream. Very little meat and no spice. Of the four different curries shared between us we couldn’t eat any of them. Won’t buy again.

Best Chicken Korma I’ve had in years. Everything was perfect, fluffy rice, crispy Naan, amazing spicy flavours and the heat level was exactly as requested. Don’t let the quaint frontage fool you, the food is just sensational and the staff super friendly. Very authentic.

Not a fancy restaurant, but the food certainly makes up for it! Strangly enough the price is lower for take out (and you get free rice), but the ratio quality/price is still very good. Very tasty and flavorful dishes, a real quality step up compared to Miss India.

My husband and I walked in around 6pm on a Saturday evening hoping to place an order for takeaway and were greeted with (or more like grumbled at) by a lady behind the counter. Upon walking in we noticed six other patrons seated at the establishment all dining as couples separately, so against our better judgement from the service we still decided to proceed and give them a try. I wish the disappointment ended there... We then waited at the restaurant for 50 minutes after being told it would be ready in 30 minutes. We patiently waited until my husband approached the same waitress at the counter who had served us to query the progress on the food only to have her huff and grab the bag of food from under the counter and slap it down in front of us. The curries were plain and really didn’t embody the favourable aromatic flavours of Indian cuisine. We felt as though we were an inconvenience in their night and unwelcome from the moment we walked in. I couldn’t care less if the establishment is less than desirable to the eye - I rate restaurants on their quality of service and food and unfortunately Masala Indian was lacking in both of these departments. I rate this restaurant a two out of five star, solely because I hate completely negative reviews and felt that the food only slightly deserved better than a 1 star. Service however really needs to be drastically improved. I will not be returning or spending my money here again.

Samosa: Taste like boiled potatoes and peas. Not worth of buying next time. Butter chicken: It’s not indian butter chicken. It taste like uncooked tomatoes and onion. I would give 0/5 rating but minimum option is 1 Star therefore I gave 1/5

We went for tea on last minute decision, wernt disappointed at all , especially when you can choose the heat level of how spicy you would like your dish , definitely give it a go and definitely try the garlic and cheese naan is to die for, we will be back again. I highly recommended this place.
