Review Virasat Indian Restaurant - Rockingham

Roast Express
If you havnt tried this amazing restaurant then your probably missing out on the best Indian food in Perth. From the mouth watering odour of the food lingering in the air to the welcoming smile on arrival from the lovely manager you know your really in for a treat. The food arrived promptly and the serving sizes were very generous. Very tender meat and full of beauiful flavours. Generous servings make this restaurant a must go for any food enthusiast .I recommend the onion bajis and butter chicken. I will definitely be back

Probably my favourite Indian restaurant in Perth, highly recommend, have not been disappointed yet. Update 26.7.22: since my original review the owner of this restaurant has changed, as a result has the menu and the food.

Ordered for the 1st time on uber eats, the butter chicken was the best I have ever had. Have since ordered directly 3 more times and dined in once (restaurant was clean and staff friendly and welcoming).

Highly recommend this place. Food is amazing. Staff is very polite. I don’t remember the name of that lady but she is an indian ( may be) and having little cute daughter. SHE is really brilliant. Food quality is best and very hard for others to compete. For sure will go again.

This is our local go to indian take away. But had our usual order last night and the recipes seem to have changed? Still good, just not as good as we are used to. Update: we gave it another go and unfortunately, the quality has gone down even further. The butter chicken had a interesting taste and watery. Other dishes seems to be lacking flavour and watery as well.

Best Indian in Rockingham and highly recommend dining in. Portions are generous and the menu is great with so many options, including a large vegetation section. You can choose your protein and spice level on most dishes as well which is great (they do serve beef). They can get very busy and there's usually a stream of takeaway and delivery going out the door.

The food is good but the service is horrible. I have been a customer of Virasat for the past 10 years now. I don't know if owners have changed but I have been there on multiple occasions, even when they were completely empty on Friday nights because the food was good but now they act like they are too big for their britches. The lady at the reception is extremely rude. She interrupted me abruptly on numerous times while I was ordering. She was loud unfriendly, both on the phone and in person. I was told it would take 45 minutes for my order to be ready. I got there at 50 minutes just in case. She looked for my food for god knows how long before going into the kitchen and came back without telling me anything. 10 minutes later they come out with my drinks then tell me that its going to be a bit longer because they are waiting for the Naan bread. I waited half an hour to get the bread. Recipes for naan bread at home say it is 25 minutes when you start from scratch. No apologies, no explanation. I had to wait 1.5 hours for my food in total. My family buys food there every week. We are a big family so its over $130 every week. I have half a mind to start looking elsewhere.

I'm sorry to give a poor review after several years of really enjoying your food. All three of the dishes we ordered this week were bland, the vegetables were mushy, the sauces were just wrong. Even the papads were overcooked. What's happened?

Love this place. Good food and decent price! Not even madd that they can't get the delivery address right... haha 10/10 would recommend!!!!!!

The service was good fast and the portion size was excellent. My vindaloo was very tasty. However the agony of the food poisoning I'm currently suffering through is no so great. I have been up all night sicker than I can ever remember being. I know this torment was due to the curry I had as I had eaten the same things as my wife all day the only thing that we had different was dinner, as she is not partial to Indian food she had a different take away..... Lucky her. She is fine and I swear I've probably dropped a decent amount of my body weight through the night.
Don't risk it.

FOOD: For entree I had a cottage cheese and mushroom dish that was fried (sounds weird I know) but it tasted so good, you have to try it. For mains I had Chicken Tikka and another dish which I can't remember the name but both were so fresh, hot and tasty and not to mention a good amount of spice. The vegetarian Dahl was really tasty as well. Naan bread was really fresh and hot and there was a large portion of steamed rice to share for two. They also served complimentary papadums and don't charge for corkage (beer and wine only).

SERVICE: No complaints here at all. Very polite and professional. A rarity in Rockingham.

AMBIANCE: Very inviting and authentic feeling, a good set up.

PRICE: On par with most Indian restaurants, around $18 - $20 for meat dishes and $14 - $16 for vegetarian but here you're actually getting nice food for the cost.

OVERALL: 9/10, this has been a surprise visit and it's going to be one of my regulars. Do yourself a favour and give this place a go, I'm glad I did.

OK food but
disappointment for charges and Service. We ordered chicken Tikka which was
blend and no flavor. Main food was nice. We had 1 main left over which we asked
for take away wait staff asked us to pay $5 to pack the food which I think was
disgusting. There were no politeness or smile on the face while taking and
serving the order. When asked for take away very rudely they asked us to pay $5
or they won’t pack the food.

I will not recommend
the place to my friends.

Worst Vindaloo Racist Server. Just gone to this awful place on a Groupon voucher and the server told me she hates me and to shut up because we questioned why there would be a $5 charge for a doggy bag.
Papadums good, terrible rude service and watery tough curries. Wow I don't think I've ever been told to shut up by a server or that I'm hated. I've been a chef for 25 years, this business should not survive.

Good food and service. Good food , great service and resonable price my best indian restaurant in area and they dont charge any extra for takeaway your left food if you dont have any vouchers

Good food but disappointment for charges. Virasat has lovely good but I left feeling disappointed.
After 6 entrees , 6 mains and desert
3 of our mains were un-eaten , I asked if we could have them as take away but advised they would charge us $10 for this.
That's disappointing, we payed for the food and if we didn't take it , it would have gone in the bin.
A $10 fee to have it put in 3 plastic takeaway containers was unfortunately not necessary .
This is the second time back, the first time I recommended the place but unfortunately I won't recommend them to friends for this visit

Missing a decent indian then found this place - all is good :). A good varied menu with plenty of options for all tastes of indian food. I am no great expert on Indian food but I do like a decent curry with some bite and I found that here with their Chicken Vindaloo. Pricing is moderate as you want a couple of curries, a vegetable curry , rice and Naan between a couple. Service was friendly and good, although it was midweek when we went. Food was moderately quick to show up and its BYO. We didnt get charged a corkage for our bottled ciders so no silly extra charges. A pleasant and atmospheric dining experience

All round terrible experience!. We took advantage of a groupon deal for 4 at this local Indian last night and were looking forward to it based on glowing online reviews. Unfortunately our experience couldnt have been further from the reviews we read. The restaurant was half full yet it took the waitress over half an hour to attend to our table for an initial drinks order as she was too busy answering the phone for takeaway orders. Entrees came out over an hour after we ordered, though they were quite tasty (bhaji, pakora, samosa, tikka). Another hour until our mains came out and they were all very average, complimented by poppadums swimming in oil. Dessert was awful and slapped down in front of us at 10.30pm...two and a half hours after we'd initially sat down. The service overall was shocking...no offer of drinks service whilst waiting, used plates and cutlery left on the table as courses came out, and no friendliness by the staff. We would not return to this restaurant and certainly would not recommend it.

Yum, yum, yum. Our first visit to the Virasat was a couple of weeks ago, we took our grandson (10) out for dinner.
The food was fantastic, soooo flavoursome. Quantities were very good. The service was terrific & the young lady was very pleasant. Even though the restaurant isn't that close to where we live we will definitely visit again.
Also we utilised pre purchased vouchers & there weren't any hassles with these when we booked as there has been with other restaurants ie sorry no availability or meal sub standard to what other patrons were getting. So that was a real positive for us.

THE WORST TASTING MEAL I HAVE EVER TASTED PEOPLE NEED TO BE WARNED. This has got to be the worst curry I have ever tasted delivery was over 1 hr & 15 mins the reviews are all fake!!! They pretend they can't understand what you are saying, phone was put down when we complained. Tastless bowl of mush very watery asked for one meal to be hot & one to be mild both tasted eactly the same!!! Chicken was rubbery chewy & fatty! Thats if it was chicken!! I Feel like I'm going to be sick! When we asked to speak to the manager he was not available then she (person who takes your order) put the phone down very unproffesional. No customer service at all they failed to give us a refund. These people are charlatans. They need to be put to shame. Should not have a business, I have run many food outlets successfuly so I know they can be under stress but the customer should always come first. I will keep writing these reviews. This place should be closed down & needs to be checked out by the environmental health.
Please save your money & go anywhere but this Virasat place.

Bad food, worse service. If I could give it 0 stars I would. I have never - EVER - felt strongly enough to give a negative review at a restaurant before, but this place takes the cake. Not only were our 3 takeaway meals all terrible (bland and watery with rubbery meat) but the woman on the phone was incredibly rude about it - telling us to 'shut up' and then hanging up the phone. Twice. I've never known such unprofessionalism AND poor food in one establishment. Please do yourself a favour and save your money, Virasat Indian is not worth the risk.

Never Again. Nice decor, started well with entree served in reasonable time but 1 1/2 hours wait for mains which came out cold and with no apology. Arrogant, unfriendly wait staff. Absolutely will not go again and would not recommend.
Disappointed.

Won't order there again.. Said 20% off all orders. We thought that was off the price not off the amount of food in the containers. And we never got it off the price either. We ordered 3 dishes and more than half of each container was runny fluid. 3 dishes and 2 rices totalling $65 and there was not enough for 3 people. Very disappointing indeed. Worst Indian food experience in years :(

Helpful hints perhaps.. Service with a smile. Certainly. However the 45 min wait between starter and main course left us feeling frustrated. It may be that the chef was too preoccupied with the take away side of business. The recommended lamb cutlets starter were very fatty lamb chops. Sorry.

Great meal. Went there last night & we felt really guilty as we had a coupon. It was a 3 course meal & the helpings were huge. The meat dishes were full of meat & the meal was delicious. Thoroughly recommended

Great local restaurant, one of my favourites in the Rockingham area. Always enjoy eating authentic Indian food here. The 'hot' selection for the Kadhai Paneer made me sweat so beware! Delicious food, free pappadums are a nice touch. Will be back and recommending to all my friends :)

Great curry. Have been here for dinner a few times and had take-away also. Really nice food, good prices and large servings. Sometimes experience long wait for food, but quality is worth the wait.

Our new Favourite Indian in Rockingham. We ordered takeaway from Virasat on the weekend. Loved the convenience of their online ordering. The staff were lovely and looked after us when we arrived a little early to pick up.
The meal was delicious (Butter Chicken, Naan bread, rice, entrees and condiments). Such a generous serving too, great value!
We will be going to Virasat from now on for our Indian cravings.

Very good value. Good food and excellent service at a reasonable price. Garlic naan is highly recommended. Our favourite dish is the kadhai chicken.
