Review Four Leaves Cafe - Rosanna

Andrew Ford
Lovely local! Friendly owner and they have a good variety of services. Meals, coffee, deli, ice cream; take away meals, even wine! Well worth a visit if you are local. Update: we returned for the special dish Chilli 🌶 scrambled eggs with spinner crab 🦀 delish! Ask the chef. Also pies are great and I especially appreciate the effort to provide quality sauce including chilli!

Just wow. Wonderful cafe update and new deli items. I highly recommend the American Breakfast and try the bourbon maple syrup. Yum!

I have Mrs. Crown, ate pancakes and ate corn fritters. This cake is delicious. Imagine a ham-baked sandwich, the cheese melts on top of the whole food, plus an omelet like a cockscomb. Even salads are delicious. Banana smoothies are delicious, and fresh juices are actually bottled by the Emma & Tom's brand. The service is very good and the staff is friendly. Never give up the opportunity to try new things. You just don't know what little gems are there.

Took a chance of trying something off the beaten path in regards to being in the back streets of Rosanna and not part of the main shopping area. It was well worth it. I had the Crowne Madame, my daughter had the pancakes and my other daughter had the corn fritters. The croque was delicious. Imagine a ham toasted sandwich with cheese melted over the top of the whole thing, plus a fried egg topping it off like a crown. Even the salad with it was nice and fresh. The banana smoothie was tasty and the fresh juices are in fact bottled by the brand Emma & Tom’s. The service was good, staff friendly. Never forego the chance to try something new. You just don’t know what little gems are out there. Wheelchair accessible. Kid friendly. High chairs available. Dietaries catered for. Good car parking out the front.

When you find a GEM in your own "backyard"... Four Leaves Cafe. A cafe with great coffee and cakes. A Delicatessen with delicious and exotic foods, and freshly baked, crusty breads.

Friendly staff, family vibes, beautiful looking store. Like a cross between a cafe, bodega, deli, and specialty grocer. Coffee is good too!

Excellent Cafe! Great coffee and awesome food! Reuben sandwich is one of the best in Melbourne

Great cafe in Rosanna with beautifully presented food, friendly staff, extensive food store range with quality deli items and great selection of wine and bread

Such a lovely place to go and enjoy a coffee, meal, afternoon tea etc. So very welcoming and pleasant staff. It’s a great place to go as a family too. Huge thumbs up to the team there!

Love this place! Such a nice feel to it and no noise bouncing off the walls - which I notice they have cleverly worked in with the wall art. The little treats such as brownie and choc log are delicious. The wine servings are of pleasing size. The prices affordable. The service wonderful. So happy to now have this place to pop in to. They also do dinner some nights. My daughter ate free Saturday night and I had a delicious mushroom pizza. Great work, guys!

Seafood pizza never fails to disappoint loaded with prawns and scallops. Soft shell crab burger is a winner and Furphy stubbies. Spot on

Delicious wholemeal pizzas: A couple of weeks ago we asked Rodney if he could make wholemeal pizza bases. On Wednesday we received a call saying the bases were on the way, and on Thursday he delivered. The pizzas were fantastic, even better than white flour bases. We really hope they'll be on the regular menu soon. Many thanks Rodney.

easily my favorite cafe around, new menu items made what was best even better :)

Just had the woodfire pizza and it was amazing! Crispy base and great toppings. Best pizza in the area! Definitely will get pizza from here again!

Best veggie breakfast I’ve ever had! Unfortunately my saucer and spoon for my latte were dirty which lost a star, but perfect coffee and perfect food
Shaun Symons
Terrible breakfast, poor service, double charged for meals and coffee was so badly burnt it wasn't even consumable

I held a small dinner for my birthday (10 people) at Four Leaves Cafe a couple of weeks ago. The meals were delicious (especially the wood fired pizza) and very reasonably priced. I love this local cafe and look forward to returning very soon!

This is a wonderful little cafe with the MOST delicious home made fare! The coffee is fabulous and the desserts are delicious! The grandchildren say they have the BEST chips and all food is hot and fresh. They make the best vegetarian egg plant lasagne! Love going there!

It's nice to finally find a cafe with something different offered on their menu. Everything sounded delicious making the decision on what to order difficult however we were not disappointed with our eventual choices. The meals were beautifully presented and tasted great. This cafe has a welcoming feel to it, the staff are friendly and the coffees are frothy. Will definitely be back soon to try one of the many scrumptious looking homemade cakes and slices on offer. A big thumbs up from me! :)

Service is a bit hit and miss. One of the staff was very friendly while the girl making coffees was very abrupt to multiple customers. Food was okay. We had a nice Parma and chips but were very disappointed in the Reuben sandwich. They seemed to have a good cohort of locals who visit regularly. Location is a bit out of the way so overall, I probably wouldn’t return.

Cute little cafe local to me, went here for Sunday brunch. We ordered Chicken and Waffles, Pork Belly Omelette and Pulled Pork Tacos.

Flavours in the Chicken and Waffles were lovely however every element of the meal was burnt. Bacon was hard to chew and waffle was black.

Pulled Pork Tacos were amazing, the flavour was spot on and the meat was tender.

Service was good, we did wait a little while for our meals but could appreciate that it was because there was a rush of customers not long after we sat down.

Overall was a satisfying meal but with a bit more care in the cooking would’ve really hit the spot!

I was looking for an easy dinner the night before my birthday on 10 December and checked the opening hours of this cafe/restaurant on their website. It said their opening hours for Saturday are "Sa 8a–late". Since this cafe is mostly a pizza restaurant, and most pizza shops are open until atleast 10.30pm on a Saturday, I arrived at 10.05pm fully expecting them to be open based on the hours posted on their website. But I was greeted with a closed roller door. I then spent the next hour and a half looking for a reasonably priced place to eat dinner. There were plenty of places open, but none I could afford on my limited budget, so I ended up having to prepare a meal at home and sat down to eat after midnight. Given the following day was my birthday, I was pretty annoyed. Moreover, the last two pizza's I ordered there were overcooked, including the last one which tasted a bit burnt like the one before. Stupidly I decided to eat it and not make a fuss. But I let the owner know it was overcooked. He didn't seem to care and didn't offer to remake it. So after this experience, I contacted the owner to provide feedback and suggested it would be a nice gesture if he would offer to replace (one) of those two over-cooked pizza's on them. No such offer was made. Instead, the owner became intimidating and threatening toward me, implicitly threatening to post screen shots of my emailed complaint to him online in an apparent attempt to embarrass me and discredit my review of his business. But the threats and intimidation didn't stop there. In an email dated 13 December the owner said "I am going to report you to the police for threatening behaviour and harassment" and accused me of "demanding" a free pizza and behaving "like a child". Then 15 minutes later he emailed me, warning me he had a "friend who works at Heidelberg police" and that he was going to forward my emails to the Banyule Health Department in an apparent attempt to discredit me and ward off any complaint to that Department. Then he goes on to tell me "You can't hide behind the privacy act when you make threats". I thought how ironic!! The fact is, I haven't heard a single word from his mate at Heidelberg Police or the Health Department. But I filed a complaint with Prahran police against the owner for threats and intimidation. The Senior Constable read the entire email string between myself and the owner of this business and told me there was no issue with anything I said in my emails, but that his assessment was that the emails from the owner to me were threatening in nature, and that further enquiries would be made into the matter. I have never come across such a nasty piece of work as the owner of this business! The extent of this guy's threats and intimidation is breathtaking. Obviously I will never be coming back. My advice? Avoid this place like the plague!

Can't say anything negative or positive about this place. Coffee was okay, would we be back? Maybe. Interior was lovely and inviting, actual service was average. We probably might give the cafe another visit, I personally shouldn't see why not. It's within walking distance.

Wonderful atmosphere and the food is always fresh and delicious. Staff are friendly and attentive. Highly recommend especially the onion rings and pizza's!

Great local eatery with fantastic pizzas and burgers. Coffees and breakfast/lunch menu also really good. Awesome to have such a good family based cafe/restaurant in this part of Rosanna.

My new favorite place. We ordered the proscitto and veggie pizzas so delicious. Best wood fire pizza Ive had in a long while
And how nice it is to go to a restaurant and eat HOMEMADE dessert I was so full but still managed to polish it off. Such a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Defiantly will be back.

This is a cracker! Finally a warm and homely place in the Rosanna/Heidelberg area. Food made with heart and attentive staff. Pizzas are amazing..fresh and made in front of your eyes in the wood fire oven.
Obviously a family run business ..the attention to detail and friendliness is a welcome change from the other cafes in the area. Well done !!

Great food, great service. Love the renovation with a lovely atmosphere. Congratulations on creating a smoke free zone at the outdoor dining area. I dreaded walking past when the previous cafe was in business. Wanting to take the family for breakfast very soon.

Absolutely love this place. Its such an inviting place, with a modern but warm look and friendly staff. The breakfast there is absolutely incredible and I regularly go there for my brunch get together with the girls now. I decided to try out dinner there tonight and I was impressed, I got the pork sliders and they were packed full of flavour. We had a pizza for entrĂŠe, the pizza base was light and thin and you could tell it was made fresh, will now be getting my take away pizza from there too. So happy that such a nice cafe has open nearby, will definitely continue to be a regular.

When I first took my son to Four Leaves he told me that he loved the service and how every staff smiled, he also loved the vibe of the restaurant and how it feels like a friendly environment. I would definitely bring my other children back. I also brought my friends out for a beer and pizza it was amazing the thin pizza bases and the heaps of cheese, these pizza's suit everyone. If you are looking for a nice night out go to four leaves, we have never had anything like this in Rosanna and I am very excited to have so many more memorable nights here. WELL DONE FOUR LEAVES!!!! Finaly we have a great cafe in Rosanna.

Now my regular brunch spot! It's always a pleasure and the food and coffee is spot on every time 👌🏼 (especially the French toast). Friendly and fast service and a great atmosphere. Can't wait to get in and try the pizza, I've heard it's amazing!

I brought my kids to Four Leaves Cafe for afternoon lunch. I was amazed by the hospitality of the staff at the cafe and very pleased with the service. The display of freshly made pastries and cakes to enjoy with my afternoon coffee was incredibly satisfying and I am pleased to have such a great new cafe in our location. I have been talking to other local residents and they have assured me that the pizza's are the best in Melbourne! I cannot wait to bring the rest of the family in for dinner. Thanks Four Leaves!👌

Went in for a coffee and cake the first week they open. Unfortunately I was a little disappointed with their coffee, my partner ordered black coffee, made by the waiter who was kind enough to advised him to be careful cos it's very hot. Baristas around Melbourne would be shaking their heads right now. My latte was less than good.
I had to ask for a high chair for my baby after the coffee was brought out 😔.
As we want to support local businesses especially this side of rosanna road, we ordered their pizza recently and thank goodness we finally have fantastic pizza in the area! Cannot wait to try the rest of their menu. Well done four leaves!!
I know you've just started but please invest in a baristas for us melbournian coffee snobs 😜

I have been a couple of times to this new offering in Rosanna. Was so excited initially as it replaced a cafe whose coffee was terrible - the only way was up. The first take away coffees I had were great, quick service and good coffee. Then we made the mistake of going for lunch. They forgot my coffee order, brought out the toast last (after other cooked food had arrived) and when it did arrive, the toast I ordered for my infant son was one slice of toast with no spreads on a great big plate. I was interested to see what I would be charged for the meal, and disappointed that I was charged for a coffee that I had to remind them to make me and also $6+ for 1 slice of toast with no spreads. We won't be going back and I am so disappointed. This side of Rosanna Rd is screaming out for a decent cafe, and I thought we had finally found it.
