Review Ivy And Pearl - Rosanna

Great place and amazing experience. The staff were totally great and very helpful. the service was 10/10. The menu offers cool choices, yet it needs to add new dishes from different cuisines. Ivy and Pearl is totally nailed it.

The most delicious, fresh produce, the falafel bowl in particular was brilliant! Great vibe, friendly service

Awesome food, coffee and atmosphere. By far the best cafe in Rosanna, Heidelberg, and MacLeod
The Fo0die
Note that thefo0die.com rating is a 4.5 but in Zomato's rating system, it is closer to a 5.

Fo0die dined as a guest of Ivy and Pearl and as such, the rating does not give any consideration to customer service.

When we arrived at Ivy and Pearl (opened start of April 2018), we were pleasantly surprised to see that the venue had taken residence at what once was Funkie Brewster cafe we had previously visited.

Stopped in over the weekend for lunch. Milkshakes were great, menu was varied and staff was nice, but unfortunately that’s where the positives end.

I ordered the truffled hash, which came cold, lacked flavour and balance. My partner ordered the calamari salad which was just a few pieces of soggy calamari chucked on a bizarre array of salad.

We also sat outside, it was a lovely bright day yet they had the lights turned on out there, which reflected off of the Perspex roof, causing an ever BRIGHTER and uncomfortable seating experience.

Would not go back or recommend. Might be good for kids?

4.5

We came into Ivy and Pearl a quaint suburban café and was thoroughly impressed with their menu. The presentation of all the dishes was simple and elegant and the flavours matched . We ordered the panacotta, the smashed avo and also the truffled hash. The smashed avo was one of the prettiest but also delicious renditions I’ve had this year, the avocado was extremely fresh under a nice puree sprinkled with peas. The goats cheese mousse was also a perfect addition to tie the dish together

The truffled hash was also a nice surprise, we loved the pesto combined with the truffle flavours, the hash was golden and crunchy – a very enjoyable dish

The panacotta was flavoured with orange blossom and yoghurt, such a delicious combination with the fruity mandarin gel and maple pecans ! The pana also passed the wobble test which of course is the most important thing

Thanks so much for having us!

I would give them 3.5 stars.
It’s a little cute cafe with nice setup. Using axil coffee beans, I had tried lots of different places with axil coffee, unfortunately the way they made it didn’t bring the best taste of the coffee. Coffee is average.

I had pulled pork Benedict with toast, the dish wasn’t hot, doesn’t feel like fresh made. I can see they used the microwave in front of me lol Pulled pork is a bit dry. I did feel full after the food. But I won’t order it again for sure. I might come back again since I saw so many amazing photos online and reviews about the coffee and food. Might come back again to give them another go since I live 10mins away from the cafe.

Great little spot in Rosanna featuring a bright, airy interior, friendly staff and a solid menu. I ordered the chai spiced porridge, which arrived prettily plated with soft poached quince, pistachios, pomegranate seeds, some kind of sweet biscuity crumble, and edible flowers for good measure. It was perfectly balanced with the sweetness not overwhelming the spice flavours. My companion had scrambled eggs on toast with bacon, a generous portion of smashed avo and some really lovely house made hash browns, which were elevated by the addition of thyme. Great coffee and Prana chai completed the experience. Lovely!

What an amazing addition to my area. Hubby and I had brunch here on the weekend and cannot wait to return. It's in a great location - it's quiet! Staff very friendly and helpful, and the food...YUM! The coffee was delicious, one of the best I've had in a while. I had the panacotta (and they kindly made it gf for me) and it was soooo delicious! Definitely on the sweet side so I imagine the granola would help balance that a little more than the seeds, but nonetheless I will order it again! Hubby had the falafel bowl. He hates going out for brunch but this dish has converted him. We will be regulars for sure!!

Have been a frequent visitor to this beautiful space since they opened. Decor is modern and welcoming. I have tried many items in the menu and have never been disappointed. Coffee is great and the turmeric latte is a welcome change from the caffeine. Staff are friendly and efficient. Highly recommend a visit.

On a beautiful Saturday afternoon, I love visiting cafes a little further than my usual spots. On this occasion we decided to trek up to Rosanna and try Ivy and Pearl.

This cafe is in a perfect location for those who want a nice catch up with some friends. There is good parking, with no time limits. The cafe itself was so spacious, it had one of the most beautiful murals if seen painted on the walls. (Perfect for a good instagram photo backdrop).

I love that the front of the cafe has lots of outdoor seating. Which is so good for those with dogs. The cafe is also very child friendly.

The food here is, was so well designed. It was healthy, visually stunning, was the right portion size and tasted great. I was most surprised at how much flavour everything had. The latte was also very well done! I also would come especially here for the panacotta.

I think this cafe really was surprising and in my opinion is definitely worth trying.

Very glad I finally checked out this cute cafe in Rosanna! I came on a Saturday around lunch time and it was nice a peaceful.
I tried the falafel salad which was so tasty and healthy, I loved all the veggies plus the presentation was great! My friend had the smashed avocado which she really enjoyed.
I also had a mocha which was delish.
Will definitely be back again to try a sweet brunch dish!!

Living close to Rosanna, and wanted to try something different from Miss Marie, we went to try Ivy and Pearl. Unfortunately we were disappointed. The coffee was not too bad, the smashed avocado bread was very dry and bland, overall flavour was very bland.
The Shakskuka was way below average, watery and it came with some spiced pita bread but it just didnt really work. The dish was bland in flavour and had no real taste. On top of that, there was no meat in the dish, and having paid an extra of $4 dollars for Sujuk sausage, it only came with two small slices, which i thought was a rip off. The meals was just not worth the money. Overall vibe of the place was also lacking. Hope it improves.

Pulled Lamb & omelette, nice and fluffy. Pancakes are just very ordinary, with a little twist it can improve in terms of flavors and texture. Overall it was a great place to catch up and have brunch even on a cold lazy weekend. Coffee's great as well.

I was very excited to have a new cafe in my area. I tried the falafel bowl. The actual falafels were delicious, but the rest of the salad was quite sloppy and boring. Too many cucumber ribbons and the dressing was very runny and tasteless. There needs to be some more ingredients added to the dish to balance out the flavours.
The chai latte was delicious.

Taking over from the old space of Funkie Brewster, we are glad to report that Ivy and Pearl thankfully offers a much improved brunch option for the locals of Rosanna.

Gone were the days of lazy cooking and mediocre food. The menu is now interesting and excitable, with subtle hints of Mediterranean flavours thrown in here and there. Their rotating weekend specials are simply spot on, and with delicious, hearty and generous portions on offer daily, Ivy and Pearl is destined to become a locals’ favourite.

Beautiful warm and welcoming cafe and decor, staff are super friendly and helpful, great service. Meals are presented wonderful and look delicious, however, lacking in flavour. The Benedict’s hollandaise was lacking in flavour and amount, the pulled pork was bland and the crumpets end up being overpowering. The truffle hash was lacking in substance and ricotta, otherwise the flavours were nice but still just lacking that X factor. Hoping it’s just teething problems as the cafe and staff are everything.

Visited this re branded cafe recently which used to be Funky Brewster. Was a weekend visit and was quite busy. Service was quick and friendly.
Food was good (4/5) ( smashed avo and sweet crumpets) although presentation was only ok. Coffee was too weak and quite milky (regular latte) suggest ordering at least extra shot, maybe two.

One strange thing which has also let it down on the rating is the fact that the toilets out the back are about 5 metres from a food prep area that anyone from the public can access unsupervised. At the time of our visit half prepped food was left out and unattended on the two visits to the loo. Needs a door blocking access to that to the public.
Located in the quiet streets of Rosanna, the new Ivy and Pearl café has launched with a fresh lick of paint and a very inviting menu. I knew this place was going to be a winner.

Having visited on more than one occasion, we have devoured the Pulled Pork Benedict, 12 hour spiced pulled pork served on sourdough (or a crumpet) with a poached egg & harissa hollandaise, the Chilli Folded Eggs with Julienne fried bacon, Aleppo pepper, spring onion oncharred flatbread, Persian fetta & green harissa and the Free Range Eggs Your Way. All meals were very flavoursome and my only feedback would be that the bacon needs to be crispier 😋

On our most recent visit, we had the opportunity to speak with the lovely owner who has been in the industry for many years and has been a key contributor to the menu. After enjoying our skinny and chai lattes, we could not go pass the special of the week, the cauliflower, corn and spinach fritters with tomato chutney, coriander yoghurt, native finger lime, avocado and poached egg. Presentation was on point and the various flavours complimented each other perfectly.

If you are looking for a great healthy lunch option the slow cooked lamb shoulder salad with freekeh, bulgur, lentils, almonds, roasted cauliflower, pomegranate & a sumac labneh was so full of flavour😋😋😋. This was washed down with the refreshing house-made Golden smoothie with mango, banana, passionfruit and turmeric.

How could we say no to trying the awesome cheeky twist on the traditional Sticky date pudding.... the sticky date waffles were scrumptious with Medjool dates, salted caramel, oat clusters, house made
cinnamon ice cream & freeze dried yoghurt. This was my favourite.

There is ample parking and they have an external covered and heated seating area which is perfect for large groups or even private functions. They also do takeaway options for those looking for a quick bite to eat as well as catering.

Thanks for the invite and compliments to the Chef/s! See you again soon!

Amazing menu . I didn’t know where to start eating my breakfast, it looked so good. Can’t wait to return and try out other items. Great coffee too. My 3 year old LOVED the smartie cookies. Definitely a big thumbs up from us!

Love love love this cafe!! Great vibe and ambience about the place with friendly, attentive and upbeat staff! Axil coffee on rotation, delicious and vibrant smoothies and teas compliment an awesome fresh and local produce driven menu - that is even tastier than it is beautiful to look at!

Ordered chilli scrambled eggs with mushrooms and sausage. It was alright. But great ambience though. Very nice place to relax and have a coffee.
