We had such an enjoyable and memorable dining experience at this wonderful local. We were a group of 9 so ordered platters of antipasto followed by garlic cheese pizza salads, 3 different pastas, all delicious, however the fresh ricotta eggplant penne was outstanding, then platters of seafood that included fresh and cooked seafood. Both the quality and quantity of the seafood platters were top notch. Hands down, this is the most authentic Italian restaurant in Sydney. Both the owners, John and Peter Abraham, are incredibly warm welcoming hosts and their waitering staff equally so. We so enjoyed dining alfresco in the outside area. I can't recommend this wonderful restaurant highly enough !!!

Awesome place! The food is so delicious and the atmosphere is definitely something that needs to be experienced! Love it- recommend it!
This is our second time at Mangia e Bevi. Here you will enjoy Pasta cooked aldente, friendly service and a variety of Italian inspired dishes. If you come now... be sure to leave some room in your stomach and try the Christmas Panettone desert. We tried it tonight ....scrumptious - no regrets.
We will be back. Paolo Sozio and Carmelina
Amazing meal. Everything was excellent.
Mangia E Bevi is the perfect place for a vibrant and warm atmosphere, friendly service and delicious pizza and pasta! With fresh and classic recipes, I would definitely recommend Mangia E Bevi for some great Italian cuisine.
This Italian place has a vibrant atmosphere that draws me in and makes me feel like I am in for an experience. The menu here has plenty of seafood, pasta and pizza to choose from and the prices for each will be between $20 - $30. BYO wine, which you can just grab from across the road makes this a great little spot to duck out for dinner and enjoy some authentic Italian flavours and a nice drop of red. We opted for the arancini balls and olive ascolane starter - which were delicious. Couple this with the mussel pasta and you will enjoy a tasty meal with a great vibe.
Left Speechless...
Why bother to write a review in my busy professional schedule?! Because there is no place like this Resteraunt anywhere else in Sydney in terms of food standard, food quality, ambience, transparency, overall feel and customer service. Each time I return it's like being at home; waiters, management and chefs alike all know precisely who you are, what you like and there's an overall feel of total understanding of the individual. Frozen pizzas and cardboard boxes belong anywhere but at this sensational Restaraunt any comparison is absurd and ignorant of acknowledging the ongoing success of this awesome locality. I'm not one to recommend but this is a must!
Mangia e Bevi would easily rate as the best Italian resaurant in Sydney. With friendly staff and comfortable ambiance, an enjoyable time is had by all.
The food is outstanding. From pizza to pasta to salad and desert, the whole menu is amazing.
Highly recommended, be sure to book ahead as they a popular.
Highly recommended quality modern pizza. Mezzaluna is awesome and omg the grilled octopus polipo alla griglia is the best by far I have tasted in my lifetime. The people are happy and Peter always makes you feel at home. I love all the mains and the dessert here. The fried ice cream is to die for. You got to try the fried olives or you will miss out.
It's hard to get Italian wrong but it's even harder to get it really right! Just finished an amazing meal with my father and had a lovely evening. Was surprised to discover that it was BYO so we picked up a bottle of wine from down the road. The octopus was superb, very tender! The veal was delicious and the gnocchi was so flavoursome! The portions are very large which is a nice change in the Sydney scene. The best part though was the amazing customer service. All the staff were lovely. I would say this restaurant is a little gem in a relatively sleep suburb. Some of the best Italian I've had in Sydney and would definitely recommend it..go eat and drink!
Almost like family. There are a handful of restaurants that offer good food, good service and a nice night out. You'll probably mention your pleasant night out to your friends in passing conversation and maybe go once or twice again.
But there are very few places that welcome you like part of the family and have food to match. My friends and I went to Mangia e Bevi when it first opened, and have been almost weekly regulars ever since. Doesn't really matter what you order as all the food served here comes in very delicious and generous portions. The antipasti board is a must have. The service is warm and efficient - as if you were a guest in their own home. Do not expect to leave this place hungry!
Table reservations are highly recommended as they fill up fast all week round.
Whether you are a local or not, this restaurant is a highly recommended visit.
What a fun night. Hey guys! The team at Mangia e Bevi really knows what they are doing! Georgeous food, great staff and a perfect night. I highly recommend trying it out!
Amazing Italian food. Great hospitality!!! Food was delish - olives stuffed with feta were a great starter and then we had pizza 's galore (the calzone was my favourite) and you can't go past a nutella pizza for dessert. Great team and so passionate about food.
A good night out. Busy restaurant with great atmosphere. The staff are welcoming and accommodating. I've been a couple of times and my picks (so far) for food are the Antipasto platters (generous and delicious), the eggplant and anchovy bruschetta and of course, the Nutella pizza. I've also had the regular pizza there and the base is thin but the crust chewy - a good combo as far as I am concerned. It is a little noisy, but I suppose if you wanted quiet and intimate, you wouldn't choose a pizza/pasta place that is constantly busy. Price-wise, seems about right to me.
If you want something lively in Rose Bay with loads of energy, go to Mangia E Bevi! You'll be welcomed like a good friend!
The food is really FRESH - grilled octopus, pizzas or pasta, for either a group of friends or a tribe of hungry kids.
Make sure you leave room for dessert - the Tiramisu is the best I've ever had & yes, I was a little greedy & had a taste of the Nutella Pizza. It was seriously delicious.
Take some pals & you'll have a great night. I've rebooked already.
Exquisite food and a warm lively environmet. Since the restaurant opened, I have been to Mangia E Beve for lunch and for dinner. Both experiences were impressive so I will be going back again soon. I was impressed with the quality of food and presentation of the restaurant.
For me, money is not in question when I know I am eating healthy food from a clean kitchen.
I was served the special of the night, Gnocchi bolognese and very impressed by the quality of the homemade gnocchi. I then went on to an affogato coffee, which turned out to be the perfect option to finish the meal.
Last nights' stormy weather didn't spoil the night as we were warmed by the oven roasting the breads and pizzas. I enjoyed the lively environment and was happy that the noise didn't disturb my conversations.
Cheers to the lovely fellas running the place, see you soon.....
RECOMMEND!!. Went to Mangia e Bevi on Friday night after much anticipation. Took a couple of friends which is always risky going somewhere I've never been with friends before but Mangia e Bevi didn't disappoint! The food was amazing! We ordered 3 dishes and shared them so we could all try a bit of everything, as well as appetisers and desserts. One of the things we ordered was a 'pollo alla parmiagiana', which I was nervous about because I'm really not a fan of the 'pub parma' but it was so fresh, healthy and delicious! You aren't left with that awful 'heavy' feeling after dining here. The atmosphere was great, could really feel a 'buzz'. Such a great night, this place is definitely going to be one of my 'staples' that I take my interstate friends to when visiting. I plan to work my way through the whole menu!
