Popped in for some coffees this morning and I enjoyed a yummy brownie. They even offered to split the bill between the 6 of us which was nice. Nice atmosphere inside and the menu seemed decent too
My husband and I came here for breakfast before heading back to Melbourne. We were very happy with the friendly and prompt service (despite there being only 1 person working on the floor, and it being moderately busy). The coffee was very nice and our breakfast was delicious. Definitely recommend.
Found a great place in Mornington. The food is great for the burgers, breakfast and ribs. One of southern chicken. The coffee is also has a great drop. The service is very good and attentive. I will be back.
Simple, delicious and very appealing to the eyes. This smashed avo had a good balance between the creaminess of the egg and avocado paired with the tangy beetroot relish. The pineapple sunset smoothie also went down like a dream, yum!!
Sunday brunch, good friendly staff. Strong coffee and good choice of breakfast items.
Staff also accommodated our requests/changes to the menu items at no additional cost.
Newspapers also on hand to read
Couches for relaxing
Good all rounder!!
Avo smash is amazing !
Service is great staff are friendly and efficient.
We ordered avo smash and the Muesli both where great but the avo smash was the highlight.
They have put there own twist on the Aussie classic it it’s perfectly balanced one of the best I have ever had !
Coffee is very nice !
New owner as of November came and spoke to me and my colleague personally; which was lovely! Best coffee and service in Rosebud by far! Egg Benedict went down a treat!
Lovely space! Spent some time just reading and soaking up the winter sun by the window. Delicious (calmer sutra) chai latte and açai bowl! Great service and vibe! Thanks :)
Fast and friendly service, large tasty portions, the corn fritters were an absolute delight and the extra portion of goats cheese was very generous. The only complaint is the space could have been a bit warmer.
Our family stopped by for coffee, hot chocolate, smoothies and lunch. A couple of us have a vegan diet and The Holy Bean catered for them with a Vegan menu - something they were really pleased to see. The lunch ranged across Wagu Beef burger, Southern Fried Chicken and Vegan tacos, Ham and Cheese croissant and Avocado smash. All really well presented and tasty. Though one of us would have preferred a little less cabbage in the coleslaw with the burger. Service was friendly and attentive. Recommend.
Cheerful service, creative recycling in their garden and delicious food! Had the smoothie bowl which had a good crunch to smoothie ratio, full of flavour. Everyone on our table of 8 was happy with the presentation, quantities and taste of their meals.
Fantastic tacos - had a great feed and coffee in the middle of the day here with a friend. Great fish tacos.. tasty! And coffee was great, i would love to know what coffee beans they use because my coffee was amaze!
Great local gem. Friendly service and lots of smiles, thanks guys!
The food took so long to come out as it was a busy Saturday morning but this was a delicious Smashed avo dish. The beetroot and goats curd made it unique. This cute cafe is suited for families. The menu was different and wasn't basic.
The staff are lovely and make you feel welcome! Which is great because good customer service is something the other Mornington Peninsula cafes struggle with..
Great variety of coffee blends and Acai bowls to choose from.
The halloumi burger was really tasty and quite filling.
Lovely fresh, healhty food, full of flavour. Would come back time and time again for that. Coffee is nice, chai is amazing. They also stock a great variety of beer and wine.
But the service leaves something to be desired. It can be anything from just a little lazy to plain rude. Then on occasion they go above and beyond. It's the only thing that holds me back from just popping in any old time. You never know what you're going to get when it comes to service.
One dish to make your day!
SMASHED AVOCADO 🥑🥑🥑
The flavours in this dish were great, they all went so well together. One of the best I've had. I got it twice in one weekend, although it was served different both times. Once with two big slices of pumpkin bread and the next with one small piece (no biggie - just not enough bread for the amount of smashed av).
The service was really good the first time we went as they weren't as busy. The second time we were almost forgotten about numerous times, but the girls were still very friendly - the other food was pretty good.. overall it was a nice experience for brekkie or brunch! Will definitely go back!
Good food, good service, good coffee. Atmosphere is nice. Spacious, can get very busy over tourist season but it’s worth the extra little bit of a wait. Will continue to come here. 💗
The Turkish eggs was outstanding, poached eggs with Turkish yoghurt on Turkish bread, plenty of garlic and flavour. The owner was really friendly as well. Highly recommend.
Was here for brunch, had the avo smash and I have to say it was probably one of the best I've had! That goats curd with the beetroot on the side was deeelicious! Poached egg was cooked to perfection with the smashed avo and pumpkin bread was the perfect marriage. Soy coffee was above average too! Smiley, friendly service. Keep it up guys!
Amazing food! Amazing service! Decent prices! Amazing place! I had the shakshooka and it was amazing! Their cheeses were really good and they sell some of their wines and pastes there too at really good prices!
Lovely cafe, big serving sizes. Corn fritters and potato hashes were fab. Lovely customer service. No complaints here :) recommend if your in the area.
WOW what a find , thanks Zomato. Coffee was amazing , food was absolutely MASTERCHEF STUFF. I had the avocado smash with goats cheese and beetroot relish , that plate was a taste sensation, so much so that I wanted to lick my plate . The seal the deal stuff was from the moment we walked in the door we were made to feel so welcome , like we had walked into a mates place . THE HOLY BEAN you have hit the nail on the head what an awesome venue . We will definitely be back . Thankyou for your hospitality 😃
What a breakfast! Divine !!! So tasty and good sizes.
My husband built his own with poached eggs , bacon, mushrooms , spinach and hash browns and raves about all of them. I had the smashed avocado with beetroot and goats curd , what a treat for the tastebuds. Coffee spot on perfection . Well deserving of 5/5 . We came early on a Sunday morning but apparently gets super busy .
Staff great, food next level! Highly recommend!!
The girls and I had the best girlie weekend away . Of course need to try local cafe , so we chose this cafe. Best time for buttermilk fried chickens 🐔 between two waffles and maple syrup 👍🏽👍🏽 with jalapeños very impressed last time i had this kinda of dish was in Brooklyn.
My girlfriends had the Mash Avocado & the potatoes.
Service was great & friendly. Atmosphere was warm & funky. Have an outside seating which is great spot for people watching & enjoying a warm sunny day.
Great choice of the place for brunch/ breakie
Well, if you want to enjoy your coffee don't go to Holy Bean. The venue is overly loud that we could not enjoy each other's company. Staff were friendly.
Very nice cafe. Took a while to be seated, but staff were great after that. Food came to the table without too much of a wait.
Muesli and coffee were really good. Beef brisket burger was decent. Just a little too dry and lacking the flavour you expect from a brisket burger.
Waffles were the highlight. Interesting flavour with the balsamic, but it worked and we loved it!
Coffee is a bit of a hit and miss on the peninsula. We've tried many places for coffee in the area so I will save you the trouble as this is the best coffee you will find.
Expensive Delicious Habit.
+3.5
After a long relaxing soak at the Peninsula Hot Springs, we headed to Rosebud for some lunch. Who knew relaxing could give you such a big appetite?. We stopped at The Holy Bean on the main road to refuel. . We started with some coffees which were pretty decent (no latte art here though!). I had the corn fritters with gourmet salad and chilli jam.Not a bad place to stop in for a meal.
This cafe is exactly what the peninsula needed for a nice fresh breath of melbourne air. Amazing staff, amazing coffee and the food is to die for. It would be a mistake to not make this your go to cafe.
Magnum has a soft spot for French Toast. When he noticed it on the menu he went with the French Toast and it was better than expected. Setup inside is a bit over the place but the food and tea was good which is the main thing.
What a perfect lunch, the mushroom risotto is too die for with the roast chicken, asparagus and Parmesan cheese making the meal. Great place to bring the children with a little nook of toys and a colouring in table. Sad to hear the owners have sold but great to hear we will continue to see the bright happy faces of the employees.
Don't be fooled by the eccentric decor, the breakfast here is fantastic. Custom make your eggs, or go with the menu items, French toast is a winner too. Selection of wines and other local produce helps showcase the area.
You can't judge a book by it's cover. Didn't expect much from the outside but what we found was many good reasons to come back.
Tasty food, intelligent menu and pretty good coffee to get outside of Melbourne.
A genuine and successful local hang..
Great way to start the day. I had the atlantic eggs my partner had the chrizo omelet, both really enjoyed it. The hollandaise sauce was spot on. All served on warm wooden boards. Coffee was lovely and would also recommend a berry juice. Great atmosphere and friendly staff.
Excellent menu, awesome presentation and super friendly staff/vibe. Highly recommend
Top Food. Went here for breakfast this morning and had the Corn Fritters with rocket and avo. I got it with the bacon and added a poached egg on top as an extra and it complemented it very nicely. It wouldn't be out of place at a top inner suburbs café. My partner had the eggs bene and thought the hollendaise was very nice. Coffee was nice in temperature but lacked flavour in the latte and body and flavour in the espresso. My partner enjoyed her hot chocolate a lot. I will be back for the corn fritters again. Thanks for a great start to the day.
Great location staff and atmosphere. I had mushrooms avocado and goats curd on sourdough. Was v nice but needed something salty - maybe feta?
Great coffee, friendly staff and cafe atmosphere, but the Lemonade Scones are the best you will find anywhere . Definitely worth a visit!
Liked it. Great atmosphere. Food good and a nice kids corner.
This place is great! Friendly staff, beautiful food presented on chopping boards, great location, and people who are passionate about what they do! Refreshing to see! I'll be back!
Our fourth visit here. Exceptionally good food. The Turkish egg and bacon roll is sensational and very kid friendly. We drive from Blairgowrie to come here
Yummy unique food presented in a modern way. Plenty of room, high chairs & kids corner to keep the little ones entertained. Friendly attentive staff- a new brunch fave of ours!
Great atmosphere, delicious food and good coffee! Love that the tasting plate is passionate about supporting local producers. Menu items were interesting and presented beautifully. All in all a fantastic brunch experience. Will be back for lunch and a glass of local wine!
Relaxed lunch - good food. Dropped in for lunch and enjoyed a very relaxed and easy-going atmosphere with a modest and attractive modern Australian style menu with a hint of Middle Eastern influence. Breakfast (until 12), lunch, coffees, cakes and wines (mostly local) all feature.
It's counter service only which isn't apparent if you just take a seat and wait but the service we got was first class and the food likewise. Definitely on our "will be back" list. Lovely little shop selling local produce as well.
Most produce is locally sourced so the Himalayan salt on the tables was a bit of a surprise but good to find a local business supporting other local businesses and not afraid to say so. It's right next to the beach at the western end of Rosebud. Easy parking and bus 788 stops outside.
Awesome food great service. This long standing cafe has recently been taken over and the new owners have done a fantastic job on both the decor and the menu. Really great food, modern, well priced and beautifully presented. They now have a wine room as well as a specialty grocery store attached. Local wines can be bought by the glass or bottle. We had a steak sandwich which was scotch fillet, cooked perfectly with an awsome chutney and served with crunchy kipfler potatoes and excellent salad and Turkish bread. Would highly recommend this cafe as a regular . Decor is 50's and quirky, staff really care, service good.
We had breakfast at the tasting station last week and were completely impressed. The service was so warm and friendly and very efficient. Breakfast was delicious and, most importantly, coffee was excellent. The children's table was a winner and staff were so attentive to keeping it clean and useable. We loved the gourmet treats in the shop section and also the comfy chairs to sit and read the paper. All in all, there's nothing I would change about this lovely cafe - and that's a rare thing indeed!!
Warm atmosphere and friendly service. My husband loved the homemade bread, beans, mushrooms and eggs, as well as the scones. I tried the corn fritters based on others' review, but didn't like the taste. Great coffee. Will definitely return and try more of the menu.
Wow. Was there today.. they were crazy busy.. but you would expect that with such good food and coffee.
The big breakfast was amazing.
Yum!. Don't let the exterior of this place turn you away. The food is great! Hand-cut chips were super crunchy and the ramen noodle soup- super tasty broth with crispy pork belly and a perfectly cooked poached egg. We will be back again!
Lovely. Great service, great coffee, great fruit toast. Would recommend to anyone.
Very impressed! Would definitely recommend the house-made dukkah and hand rolled gnocchi... Delightful! Service was fantastic, very friendly and attentive. Can't wait to try the new menu!
Get there and have the corn fritters or big breakfast.
Brunch here was so nice that we decided to come back the next morning. The homemade baked beans with chorizo were full in flavour and rich in spices. My partner enjoyed the chai infused porridge with rhubarb and pistachios. Good service, comfortable environment and right up there with the coffee.
Omelette was beautiful and the single origin coffee excellent!
