Oozy fried egg with generous rashers of bacon and a fluffy wrap - this bacon and egg wrap totally hit the spot with flying colours. The ham omelette was ok but the coffee was great! Lovely little local cafe with friendly service.

Perch yourself at the front counter, with either a coffee or cocktail, and enjoy the nostalgic tunes and friendly banter at Penny Lane. Their coffee is a very nice house blend.

Never been here for dinner, but had a few brunches here and the odd coffee here and there. Pretty solid overall and the coffee is consistent and smooth here. I do like a more robust coffee, but it's still quite good. The evening menu looks too pricey, so I will stick to the breakfast menu.

Upon a night out me and the missus were passing by the little Cafe/Bar sporting the sig 'Penny Lane' on Darling St and decided to drop in after just having a less than reputable and rather pricey meal in another locally residing cafe/bar in Rozelle (that will go unnamed.) We decided on a quick drink before we head to the Sacky- Little did we know. The place is a perfect example of what can be achieved this day in age in Sydney in these 'hole in the wall' style cafes, only armed with an incredible chef and a highly skilled barista and cocktail maker. The menu was deadset better than I've tried in many high-end restaurants- incredible beef carpaccio, delicious zucchini flowers and oysters to name a few- we couldn't believe it. Not to mention the array of really yummy cocktails, a great twist on a Gin/Cucumber Gimlet not to mention a killer Bloody Mary (one that seemed to be too strong for my girl friend, which you always know is a goo sign.) Our Barman Mark was a class act and all around legend, informing us of what the vast cocktail list and menu held for us as we proceeded stack Dinner Version 2.0 on top of the slurry we ate previously, we couldn't help it- it was that bloody good, seriously. Whoever the owner's are keep doing what your doing and don't change. But, if for some reason your not sold, if for some reason you want to go to inferior venues and pay more for worse food, you hate incredible hospitality and incredible service, if for some reason your a real cynic, I present to you the Bruschetta from heaven- a more than fairly sized piece of Italian bread served with Italian prosciutto, rocket and the best buffalo mozzarella I've ever had coated with fresh balsamic vinegar and olive oil for...wait for it...$4.50!!! High end Italian inspired cuisine with great atmosphere and service for 1996 prices?? Yes - Please. I will be back time and time again, oh and the coffee's bloody great to boot to, SOMETIMES SYDNEY DOES VENUES RIGHT! BON APPETITE!

Love going to Penny Lane to escape the busyness of Darling Street on the weekends. Checking out the courtyard is a must as it is quite a hidden gem. Staff were friendly and seem to have a good relationship with regular customers and were also nice to me and my friends. Could do with getting fresh juices but coffee was really good. Food was not too expensive and the menu was quite simple but food was good, recommend the Ness' Eggs in a pan or the Moroccan Eggs!

Penny Lane is by far my favourite cafe/restaurant in the inner west. The coffee is strong, clean-flavoured and always hot (lattes served in swanky double-walled thermal glasses) with freshly-baked cakes and tarts to tempt any onlooker.

The menu changes seasonally but includes a great range of small share-plates and a handful of mains. My favourites would be the zuchinni flowers, tuna carpaccio, haloumi skewers and lamb ragu.

Staff are personal and friendly, always saying hi to passers-by and calling customers by name. They don't mind altering a menu item occasionally and even serve water for dogs.

To top if off, they have an extensive wine list well-priced by the glass and can mix some mean cocktails too. From the street entrance the place looks small but head down the side to an intimate internal area folllowed by a covered courtyard that caters to groups and functions.

Breakfast, lunch, dinner, just coffee or after-dinner dining all highly recommended. So long as there's space left for me, I'm a happy diner!

Great night, Delicious food. We had walked past the new Penny Lane on Darling St a few times and thought we'd give it a go. It was always bustling in the evening so we took that as a good sign. We got a seat outside which was ideal as it had more space and was a bit more private that the side tables.

We had a special for entree - Butterflied king prawns with salmon roe - which was AMAZING! Perfect flavours, and a great start to the meal. We also had the Pork Belly with Scallops, which was delicious but it the prawns were a hard act to follow. For main we had the Sirloin with greens special, and the Pappardelle pasta with prosciutto. Both were tasty! We also had a bottle of wine. There was a good selection of wines across all different price ranges which was good to see.

Overall it was a great experience and we will definitely come here again. The service was wonderful and all the staff were very friendly and personable :-)

Stopped here to grab a glass of wine and nibbles. Owners are super nice, professional and the wine list is pretty extensive.

We always have a good evening at Penny Lane Bar, there's about 12 wines by the glass and a very large wine list by the bottle. The wines by the glass have always been from smaller or boutique wineries from around the world and I have never been disappointed yet. But what we do enjoy is the food is generally a step up from the usual fare offered and are generally a great match with the wines. Overall, highly recommended.

Had a wonderful lunch there, The food was 8/10 & coffee 8/10. The food was large portions and I was unable to finish the meal (full). The staff were friendly & attentive. It’s my favourite coffee place in Rozelle.
