Excellent food, coffee and service. This cafe is awesome. I had a most delicious, fresh Acai bowl, served with fresh fruit, granola and rice puffs. Actually one of the nicest I've tried! Lovely coffee and served with a smile. Great place!!,

I went here for lunch with a friend. I had the bacon and egg wrap and my friend had the brown rice wrap. The lady serving was friendly and helpful. The food was tasty and fresh. It’s definitely worth giving a go if you are in the area.

Their acai bowls are amazing but they are not there for their customers - they close whenever they feel like it and their hours are too short its a wonder they can even make $ with such short hours at peak times, annoying when you rely on the hours on google yet they chose to finish early. They have underage staff too that need to be taught some customer service and people skills (no clue) we go elsewhere now

Hi i'm John i am just discussing my terrible experience with this restaurant i got a Uber to green grotto and i just wanted to have a nice morning tee with my uncle Joesive and we ordered some green tea, we both tasted the tee and we both felt very sick, we go have a look at the kitchen where all the food is made and the photos attached below are similar to what i saw when i walked past the kitchen that day. this disgusted me, there were cockroaches every where running all over the floor there were food everywhere on the floor that looked like there where there for a few days up to a week nothing was clean was very disgusted, the health care officers have been noted of this pig stye this restaurant will loose there food license

Doggys Day Care Gold Coast
I was able to bring my own bowl and add in extras that were on the menu and available. They also are Doggys friendly and go the extra mile by providing - special dog seats so your fur baby is not sitting on the cold ground. 🌈✌❤😃🐺🌈

Green Grotto is a little store north of southport area where they say that it’s a place where health and wellness have a meeting of the minds.

They believe that living a healthier lifestyle should be filled with nutrition and flavour and they actually create their own menu items and recipes with the help of a qualified nutritionist!

The entrance isn’t very big and honestly if I were to walk by, I wouldn’t notice it that much if it weren’t for the Amazon Power acai flag logo. Once you come inside you find a little room with the counter just in front of you, and some seats on the right side that obviously if they wasn’t for the restrictions that were on they would be able for seating.

The owner looked quite busy and I would say even slightly distressed (not in a mean way that I say this! 🙏 but in a way that many cafes and venues had to fire their other employees regarding the COVID restrictions and obviously they have been having more work themselves and has been quite demanding for them) and she said to us straight away that she had just gotten a few orders in and it would take a few minutes until she would get our order. Sounded slightly rude the way she said it but I’m pretty sure it wasn’t her intention at all.

After a few minutes she took our order and I asked before choosing which ball would be the best seller for which she said the Reeses one. Because that wasn’t vegan I took a look at the menu and opted for the cherry ripe as I was feeling like it.

It took a few minutes for the acai bowls to come but I wouldn’t judge or worry anything at all regarding the amount of time we waited considering that the owner was only one person there and I have had long long periods of time for meals previously.

So here’s my thoughts:

- Acai Reese’s Pieces - I didn’t try the whole bowl (because it wasn’t vegan due to the Reese’s) but I tried the blend of acai that it had since it was vegan! It was a blend of banana, cacao, peanut butter and almond milk. It works wonderfully and I absolutely love the taste and the consistency. It came topped with peanut butter sauce and Reese’s pieces and presentation wise it was nice not too extra but still quite acceptable for a cute little bowl. Portion was small in my opinion and thinking about the overall bowl I think it should sure be more filling than what it is. Regardless of that it’s a good treat for a morning/afternoon pick me up.

- Acai Cherry Ripe - this was the bowl that I had and honestly I tried this one first before the Reese’s one and I wasn’t a huge fan of the taste. I was actually saying that I was quite disappointed with the bowl and I said to my friend to even try it and he actually was also very surprised that the taste was so bad in comparison to the other one. It is supposed to be a blend of acai with cherries and banana, which sounds like a winner combination, but I’m not sure what happened but the taste was seriously not that enjoyable at all and it sure was not even one of the ‘average’ acai bowls I have had. Plus, they blend it with coconut water which should be good for the final overall taste, but sure wasn’t on point. Maybe it was something missing? Not sure. Either way toppings were not many but I would say acceptable in presentation was also neat. Unfortunately I wasn’t satisfied with the size the bowl, and it seemed such a small portion and I was still hungry at the end. Obviously just a note to take into account, because I still would think of this bowl as a snack or instead compliment it with something else.

Honestly I wasn’t much impressed with this place. Definitely not a bad experience but personally I wouldn’t pick to visit it again considering they are much other options around the Gold Coast with bigger portions and around same price for the bowls.

Excellent quick service, great beverages. We had coffee, hot chocolate and a great smoothie which I was able to customise to my liking. Would definitely recommend.

Wonderful layout, I chose the cherry and banana acai bowl, which was delicious and full of extra goodies. I also got the vegan lasagne and spinach and kale salad to take away for lunch. Absolutely delish and would go back in a heartbeat. As a visitor I wish I had a place like this in my hometown.

Love the coffee here and the friendly atmosphere. But I also just had my first acai bowl and it was amazing. I didn't know healthy food could taste so good!

Great spot to chill and eat some healthy food! They've got the best acai bowls I've ever tried, hands down. My fave is the acai icey! And their raw chocolate desserts are soooo yummy.
