I visited Moeru for lunch with my fiance over the weekend and was so impressed with our experience. Delicious food, very reasonably priced and fantastic staff. I highly recommend Moeru to everyone and will be back this week!

Finally! A delicious Japanese restaurant here in Sydney. Sushi were fresh, mouth watering oysters and all the meal set were good as well. I can't fault this restaurant. Very friendly and attentive staffs. Will be coming here more often.
Delivers exactly what it promises. Great Japanese cuisine with a slightly modern twist. Well patronised by the local Japanese community. The Katsu seems to be a specialty.
Delicious food. Prawn croquettes for entree and teriyaki chicken and miso for main with Kirin Japanese beer. Yum! I'll definitely be back and will tell all my friends to give it a go. Probably a good idea to book ahead too, as it's a busy little place, and I can see why.

Great freshness and thick mouthful of sashimi cut. Had an oyster with spicy salty sour sauce leaving me wanting more. Ramen was mega huge serve enough for 2 adults. Well balanced authentic fresh soup flavour. Attentive staff. Will surely be back to try more from the menu. Very Glad it's in the neighbourhood.

I love Moeru, it is the BEST ever japanese restaurant ever! I especially love the california roll, it is one of my all time favs. Even though sometimes i have to wait for a seat, the food is worth it. I love the huge sushi portion sizes and i hope they continue to stay the same!! Even during quarantine period, i always pick up the california rolls (you can see in the picture) the sizes are still the same and they always manage to fill me up.. LOVE LOVE LOVE
There's a reason this place always has a queue out the front (at both lunch and dinner times). Food is fresh, good value and there's a good variety. We often get take away and the quality is still excellent. The service can be patchy (sometimes it's attentive, other times you feel like they've forgotten you are there). They recently implemented a 1 hour limit on tables to get more diners through the door, which is fine as they inform you when you arrive. Also they removed their booking policy as I think people would book and not show up (it's common problem in restaurants all around Sydney). It's a good local restaurant which I will definitely continue to frequent.
The best thing about this place is that they’re not stingy with the fish! All the sashimi were cut thick and nigiri had a giant piece of tuna/salmon/kingfish etc... everything was fresh and tasted 💯 the ramen portion was also gigantic.
Disappointing thing is the sushi rolls completely falls apart, every single one of them fell into pieces, and the teriyaki chicken in them were excessively sweet and had overly ‘burnt smokey taste’

One of the best Japanese restaurants i have been to. The food is always excellent and good value for money. Always busy so better to book in advance.
The food here is tasty and well priced. The staff are also friendly. The only suggestion I have is that ordering take away can take a long time (~40 mins) so you need to order early.
Been here quite a few times. The sushi rolls definitely are the highlight with generous fillings at reasonable prices.
I also tried the oyakodon on this occasion, but it was average at best. Tempura udon however was quite nice though. They serve it separately so the tempura batter doesnt go soggy from the broth. Interestingly, they also offer a 'stone pot' version for the udon at a higher price.
Service was ok. You definitely do need to book even on weekdays as its always busy and seen walk-in customers disappointed.

Quite nice Japanese food. Katsu curry was good, schnitzel was a bit thinner than what I am used to. Ramen was nice, and the Cold Soba noodles were nice
Always packed whenever I go. So definitely book for a table in advance, especially on weekends! The sushi nigiri and rolls are larger than your average when you eat at Japanese restaurants. The chirashi don was very filling and had plenty of variety! Friendly staff is always a plus! Definitely recommend for the area with its price!
A fabulous Japanese restaurant in the area which is consistently delicious. The food is affordable and the staff are friendly, however the place does get busy at times so def recommend booking before you visit. We ordered the signature ramen and chirashi don which were divine and well done. We will be returning to this restaurant !

Really good value and fresh. We came on a weekday about half an hour after they opened for lunch and they were very busy. It suggests that you should definitely book for dinner. There were three of us and we tried the following:
- crab and scallop sushi: the rice was great as was the filling and the topping. The sauce on top was very strong in flavor and you may prefer to ask for it to be put on the side
- spicy sashimi don: very very large portion and very fresh salmon and kingfish sashimi. Does not come with a dressing but rather a spicy sauce in a squeeze bottle. Even though ingredients fresh and good quality, the sauce is not great.
- tonkotsu ramen: really yummy and large portion. The chasu itself very generous in size. Great value dish.
I would definitely want to return to try more of their dishes. Parking is probably easiest in the West ryde Coles and Woolworths complex.
A great little place to eat. Only problem, not enough tables for everyone! Top tip, book ahead to get a place. The food was great and authentic, with the ingredients being fresh and the staff making it an overall great experience.

This place is low key the best Japanese place I’ve had. It’s nothing special yet it’s so special. Food are tasty, and the sushi, Oh-MY-GOD good. No joke. Some of the best sushi I’ve had, so filling, so tasty. The ramen isn’t bad too but not the greatest in the world, but the sushi is a must! If you have a few people who love sushi, just order all the different sushi and you’ll have a great meal!
They know how to make and serve food and make it an enjoyable experience. Being someone of reasonable appetite, i was pleasantly surprised to find myself very satisfied with both quality and quantity.
I was satisfied with nakasaki ramen and grilled salmon don. Good service, nice to see a decent Japanese restaurant in West Ryde. I will definitely be back for more dishes!

Really impressed by the sushi here! Fresh ingredients, generous servings, and flavours that work so well together.
The Grilled Salmon Roll ($16.90) is perfect for salmon lovers - it was full of big juicy pieces of salmon, and also topped with grilled salmon. The Grilled Scallop and Crab Roll ($16.90) was also excellent, loved how fresh the scallops were.
Ramen was also very good, not too salty and generous with the toppings.
Can’t wait to try more items on the menu - will be back!
One of our local Japanese eatery, it is usually busy even on a weeknight. We'd been here a couple of times and for both visit we ordered the ramen and a sushi. The ramen is quite tasty, the second time round better than the first. Broth is semi thick, noodles were smooth. The sushi is good too. Big chunky fillings tightly rolled. Yum!

Mum and I came to Moeru for lunch the other day, and omg - I think I've found a new Japanese restaurant favourite! We ordered the 'Grilled Salmon Roll' (10 pieces for $16.90) and a garlic ramen (not featured in the menu on Zomato). Even though we waited for a good 20 minutes for the food to arrive, I wasn't disappointed because it was SO YUMMY and FRESH! The salmon roll comes in a generous serving and I really appreciate that they didn't hold back on the salmon :) The rice and filling ratio is just spot on! The ramen was also very satisfying. I especially enjoyed the stock - silky and packed with flavour, yet not too salty!
Will be visiting Moeru again for sure! Can't wait to try the rest of their menu!
PS - I also appreciate how close Moeru is to West Ryde station. It's so convenient to get to and from! A great place for lunch catch-ups with friends :)
Good value especially the lunch sets, friendly service, not exactly authentic as there are some Korean-Japanese fusion dishes here, but all dishes here are quite well-prepared and presented.
Consistently delicious. Super friendly staff. Clean dining area. Sometimes slow, but always worth the wait! I recommend the teriyaki chicken plate - $14.90 at night or $9.90 during lunch service. Can't go wrong.
We picked this restaurant for dinner one night and was wondering why its zomato score was not very high. We thoroughly enjoyed the fresh and tasty sushi! The restaurant decor is very nice too. I'll definitely come back.

Tried quite a lot of things actually, and there were some clear standouts. The spicy udon, yes ✔ You must try the spicy one though. Salad was very fresh and nice. Any of the sides such as eggplant, tofu etc, were pleasant enough but definitely not memorable. Have had plenty better at other Japanese restaurants. Sushi and sashimi platter was not very good value from memory. We had ordered two to begin with and had been informed it would be enough for the 12 or so people we had, but this was very far from true. Not to worry, we just ordered more (a whole lot more!), but it just seemed odd to suggest, because the platters weren't filling at all. The veg roll was a little meh, but tempura was nice and went down a treat with the udon (which we ended up ordering 6 bowls of or something, along with all the other dishes/sides).
One major thing they need to work on is putting on more staff. They were ridiculously understaffed, and some of the ones that were there were new and had no idea about anything. It was a pretty busy night so being flat out is understandable. However, we did book in advance so they were well aware there would be a large group coming so having the right amount of staff would have been a good move.
They have fresh sashimi and sushi ever! I travel from north shore to have their food! Wont disappoint if you want raw fish and fresh sashimis!

日本より寿司と刺身のネタのボリュームが凄くて口の中に広がる刺身の味が今でも忘れません。yummy yummy（笑）

Moeru is one of three Japanese restaurants in West Ryde, with all 3 restaurants within a 5 minute walking distance from each other. Aside from staff always forgetting to bring water to my table, they are extremely attentive. The Crunch Sweet Potato sushi roll is one of my favourites and the Japanese chips, yam and lotus root, are delicious. The sushi and sashimi has always been fresh and flavourful. Have not been disappointed yet
Its first time I visited this newly opened restaurant. I ordered sushi and sashimi combo, agedashi tofu and okonomiyaki. All food were amazing! Especially okonomiyaki is very good! If you live in local, you must try this place!

Delightful new sushi joint in West Ryde located right beside Cafe once upon a time.
Stopped by for lunch and got they Teriyaki Salmon plate $15 and lotus chips $9.
Got a miso soup after my order and then the lotus chips arrived followed by the salmon plate. All dishes were tasty and salmon plate was a decent serving size.
Staff and friendly and the food service was quick.
I noted the prawn chips so will have to come back to try them! Also some items on the menu seemed on the pricey side.
If consistency, good value for money and great staff manner are something you look for in your dining experience, have I got the place for you.
Moeru located in West Ryde is one of the better places for casual dining.
Coming here on and off for the past few years has really given me a benchmark to go off on.

We heard about this place from some friends and decided to try it. Really fresh and tasty. The karage chicken was juicy and I particularly enjoyed the agadashi tofu and avocado prawn roll. The staff were really kind and friendly too. The waiter worried I would forget my car keys on the table, I appreciated the extra thought.
Don’t sleep on this place guys! Huge servings with the rice to filling ratio of a kimbap but with sushi fillings. 😍 I love the generous portions of filling and thin layer of rice. Be wary that the wait it LONG on the weekend as these guys are packed out. They also don’t take bookings so be prepared to wait if you’re planning on going between 6-7:30pm or opt for take away instead. This place has become my go-to local sushi joint. 🤤 Can’t wait to go back!
Absolutely amazing value for money, cannot recommend this place enough! Always busy but they have no booking system so you may have to wait. Sushi and sashimi is very fresh and delicious. The portion sizes are fantastic. Super and tasty! This hidden gem is a local favourite. Pricing between 2 people around $50 - $60 mark! I highly recommend the scallop and crab sushi roll for all seafood lovers out there. Still dreaming of it!
Always a queue, always busy and for good reason. The food is fresh with excellent portions, and the service is fast and friendly. It's worth the wait. I rate it!
We were quite pleased with our meal but my partner has mentioned the place was a lot better pre covid but a lot of places would be affected like this.
The service may need to work on being more attentive but they will eventually get to you.
Food was nice and the pricing was doable. Presentation wise it was pretty good. The wasabi however seems bottom end with its bright colour and play dough like texture but it does the job.
Ordered grand combo and seaweed salad! Both excellent, great portions and quality of fish. One of the best sushi places in Sydney area. Will be repeat customer.
