1st time we went there for Hot Pot... it was excellent. So we decided to bring our friends for dinner buffet there and they were amazed on the food there. Great food and amazing atmosphere..... you can tell the place is great if there's a lot of Koreans/Asians eating in a Korean restaurant :)
I definitely recommend here for any special occasion. Great service and high quality. Must try $49 set. It is super worth!!

Overall, this place has one of the best presentation skills I've ever seen! If something looks good to the eye, then automatically there are bonus points before you even eat it! Prices are so-so, but WORTH IT! with the effort put into each dish.

We come here regularly for dinner and the all you can eat bbq is great. A very good selection of different meats and also other accompanying dishes, even those available on the self serve.
The last few times we have come for lunch and picked the pork belly and the beef short rib stew. Both are quite generous servings and come with an array of side dishes.
The pork belly is soft and tender, the ssam sauce has a great kick and flavour to it. The beef short ribs are so tender they easily fall off the bone, and the soup has plenty of flavour. Three lunches now and 3 times we have picked the same two.
Korean barbecue with comfortable summer night, what a wonderful experience we have here. Meets are fresh and delicious, we will come again.
We have standard buffet, we can a variety of meets including pork, chicken, beef. Also, many side dishes and ice cream for free. Their drinks are wonderful too, and they are very good looking.

Reasonably good buffet in a nice (if somewhat cramped) environment. Modern looking decor and friendly service (but they don't have enough waitstaff). They gave us free jugs of the mocktail, and were happy with any food requests, and changing the hotplate.
We got the premium buffet, the sashimi was quite nice, although it wasn't the absolute freshest sashimi I've ever had, it was quite good. Salmon, Kingfish and tuna were on offer.
Unfortunately I just don't think the meat is real Wagyu beef, it is not the melt in your mouth texture of the really good stuff. Some of the cuts were downright chewy.
There is a lot of variety of other foods available in the buffet including a lot of fried stuff, which is quite good if you can grab it while it's fresh.
For a "premium" experience, it is a little bit disappointing.
Try to get a seat in the outside section if you can, as it seems a lot nicer (and roomier) there.
Amazing restaurant with a really friendly and nice staff. Our only place for Korean BBQ, the meat is always fresh and tender and the side buffet is lovely. Amazing food amazing staff and the drinks are awesome ! My partner and I have to go there every time we feel like meat overload :)
Went there few times and always it was very good. High quality meat , seafood and buffet. Gets quite busy since they became a BBQ place. Customer service is good as well. Have three options of different BBQ plus a la carte menu.
Very worthwhile, staff were helpful when we had no idea what we were doing, very good food. Would definitely go again. Worth trying the cocktails as well for a refreshing night out

Modern Korean Kitchen with fashion and elegant surrounding. The food is different from other pure Korean restaurant, but more fancy and creative. There are a large variety of drinks especially wines. The service is thoughtful but better to have a professional one to introduce the cocktails. A sure visit for next time.

Nice idea of Fusion Korean cuisine but didn't quite hit the mark. Had the Smokkim Degustation Menu with the 'theme of June'. Overall I couldn't see every dish being Korean Fusion with some suiting more to Japanese cuisine. The Lychee Juice tastes like Aloe Vera unfortunately and the Sea Tangle Soup's potato ball was hard but the soup was delicious. The Modern Sashimi wasn't amazing though the Smokkim Bul Go Gi's marinade was flavoursome. A favourite was Ju-Muk-Bab with the melted cheese however there was not enough kimchi flavour and the Bossam unfortunately had way too much fat on the meat. The Barramundi was a bit overcooked and the Scotch Fillet was tender but the eggplant was undercooked. Both accompanying sauces for the mains were not great or flavoursome. The desserts were mediocre unfortunately. The Rice Wine Sorbet and Pumpkin Cheesecake was interesting but the sorbet wasn't appealing to me and didn't pair well with the cake. The Tea and Seasonal Fruits were just ordinary fruits and tea, nothing special in particular.
Sashimi and aged steak was brilliant. Other dishes were on the average side. Service varied. We had two very different waitresses - one was really polite and friendly and the other had an allergy to smiling...which made the atmosphere a little awkward and unwelcoming.
Great korean fusion ever! Its very easy to find japanese fusion wwhatsoever but korean fusion, i mean good korean fusion is hard to find! And Smokkim is one of them!
Their burgers for lunch specials are unexpectedly delicious with their zucchini chips is divine. Meat tasting platter is best choice to share for two if you are a meat lover. Arancini balls is one of my favorite, as well as the very generous size of the slow cooked pork belly from the mains. Great place with great food and great ambience! A must try!
Best wagyu ever!! So delicious, service was okay..but the food made up for it. I highly recommend the fried chicken, it was golden and crispy like KFC and the chicken was so juicy.
Amazing food. Upscale Korean Modern Fusion style with a twist which has similarities to Danji (1 Michelin Star Korean restaurant) in New York. Highly recommended. The staff take great care to ensure you have the perfect dining experience. Have been here now more than 5 times since it has opened and have not been disappointed. Lunch burgers are scrumptious and zucchini chips are divine. Bossam (slow cooked pork belly), Korean Fried Chicken and pumpkin cheesecake are some dishes we have tried and all have been delicious.
I remember when I first visited Korea with my parents – we had a tour guide explaining the nuances of the culture, and telling us little anecdotes and stories, to illustrate what makes Koreans, well, Korean. Fast forward 17 years (eep!) and I’m still utterly fascinated with the culture, and not only because the boys in Big Bang are so stylish and pretty!
Delicious food! Lots of choices, they have very polite staff. We are few months now in Ryde area and we only came to know the restaurant, they need to advertise more as their food are superb! Menu and prices are decent / reasonable. We will definitely back! 5*****

Nice place to have a Korean food, great atmosphere, good price by the quality, haven’t tried the barbecue, but the stew was awesome, good service, and great beer selection, maybe they could work a little bit more on the desserts, nothing special about it.
I used delivery service late dinner . It is pork back bone hotpot . Awesome . It comes with 2 side dishes (pasta salad and kimchi) . I found a big pork bone about 5-6 pieces . In Korea , we are easy to delivery like this big soup though very late night . But. in Australia , it is usually not easy .. . So I like the Smokkim food . You guys who visited restaurant maybe know that smokkim is a very modern and sophisticated restaurant compared to another Korean restaurant . Good 😉

Did I mention it was tasty? It was down right great.
Smokkim started at Rhodes but that store closed this week (Sep 2020) and this the best Korean BBQ in Sydney is now at Top Ryde.
It's well worth the effort. Great food, good drinks, the price is excellent as are the lunch specials.
Not a bad place for Korean in top Ryde. Haven’t done the bbq yet but the hotpot and fried chicken was quite generous and delicious. Also the side dishes really helped with your hunger whilst you waited for the main course. We also ordered some mocktails since I was driving which was quite delicious
Lunch BBQ deal. $25 per person. Side dish can be refilled as well. Love this place.
