Review Taste Of Tandoor - Ryde

The Worst dine in Experience EVER !!! It was a dinner date with my husband and we went for the first time thinking of having a good experience. We ordered Paneer kulcha, Keema naan, butter chicken & mango lassi. The first disappointment happened when they served lassi in beer glasses!!! it was stamped as Carlsberg. It was funny indeed. If they didn't have lassi glasses then they should have used plain water glasses instead. I have visited numerous restaurant in India from 5 star to 1 star, but never experienced such thing before. Now second disappointment, that is both the kulcha and naan. The paneer kulcha was too salty and the use of chat masala dominated the taste of paneer, a big failure to the attempt. The worst keema naan I had in my life. It was not properly cooked and the smell of raw meat was horrifying. Third: The butter chicken!!! It was not at all the taste of butter chicken, though the quality of chicken was good. I doubt it is really an Indian restaurant. My suggestion to the owner, DON'T spoil the name of India. The hospitality was only good thing over there. I don't have any enmity with it but I am providing my opinion for the betterment of the restaurant. Good luck guys.

Worst dining ever I had with my family. I would absolutely not recommend this place. Waited for almost 2.5 hours (not lying), worst customer service only one servant on the floor. we got to different food to what we ordered without even telling us and later they told us chief ran out of that particular meat.

Worst Indian restaurant I've been to in a long while. The service was slow, with only one waiter on the floor (who neglected his customers and was incredibly inattentive to details such as cutlery and water and the constant calling out to him), and of course, because we were Groupon customers, he explicitly told us he would give us different treatment to his regular ones (aka, rubbish.)

The worst Dine in ever, got there at 6pm on a special occasion, entrée serve 6.45 and dinner was not served even untill 8:45pm as we had to leave for a movie at 9pm, such poor managment and staff. The cheff changed our manu as he was running out of chicken tika masala and chillie chicken served us with roghan josh and chicken korma without informing us.Please avoid going to this restaurant.

Reception and greetings are impressive when you enter but very poor preparation.. They agreed to prepare Jain food (without Onion and Garlic) and the dish was bitter in taste with more salt.. and on complain they told that without onion and garlic that is the best they can prepare and charged full money..18$ for the dish that was wasted and I could not eat such badly prepared food.. If they cannot prepare Jain food.. they should have denied..

Terrible experience. We bought through Groupon, got terrible service, they tried everything to drain more money from us. Would definitely not recommend. Terrible terrible.

Took few friends to dinner of a groupon deal.

The staff was attentive and alright
The Entrée was good and enjoyed.
Was really embarrassed of improperly cooked main course.
Dal : not good at all
Mix Veg : Ingredients are there, but their chef was not patient to cook it well
Lamb Rogan Josh : Well cooked and good
The naans were good as well
Chicken Vindaloo : chicken not even cooked, informed the staff, but he would not do anything about it
Palak PAneer : Palak not cooked

Just blame the chef. Is he getting paid to do the job ?

Seriously bad, the amount of salt used in our meal poses a serious health risk. After eating here, I drank over 2 litres of water and had the worst nights sleep ever. Very disappointing because you can sense the proprietors are trying, but punching above their weight.
Decor is bland and any possible ambience is snuffed out by the 55"TV blaring out Hind rap. 1960 wine glasses don't help. Service is attentive but totally amateurish. Politeness would dictate the lady being served first, but sadly the habits of the old country are alive and well. Attention to detail is lacking, the wine glasses which weren't being used sat precariously at the edge of the table until the end of the meal.
On arrival, we were greeted with complimentary pappadums which were good except for the huge oil spot they left on the paper tablecloth and the tasteless raita. Tandoori chicken for entrée which was dry and tasteless with more tasteless raita. And I didn't know you could actually buy chickens that small. But then the shocker, my partner had lamb korma and I the beef Madras. They tasted identical except for the chilli heat. The meat was cooked but not to the stage of falling apart like a stew should be. And we couldn't tell the difference between the lamb and the beef based on flavour or texture. The taste of the sauce was ok but the salt content was ridiculous. The highlight of the meal were the naans. Light and slightly crisp, buy lacking the hint of butter which finished them off to perfection.
I was surprised that the waiter didn't ask how the meal was and why my partner had left the full bowl of korma. No worries, because we won't be back and this establishment won't last long.

We had dinner here last week. A pleasant surprise with excellent service and indian food. We enjoy eating here on 2 occassions and will come back again. The main dishes were really good and naan was freshly made and hot. Well done and thank you for providing good food .

Great addition to West Ryde. Have had dinner here twice now and can safely say that it will now become a regular spot for dinner. Food - great; service - great; prices - very cheap. Recommend you try it out for yourself!

We had lunch here for Mother's Day and the food was lovely and the service was great. Very reasonably priced at $25 per head for 3 courses with a good choice of mains. We would recommend and will come again.
