Great atmosphere, with delicious food. Service was okay, given how busy it was for brunch on a Sunday morning. Our drinks seems to take a while to arrive but the meals were quick to appear. Good portion sizes for both adults and kids.
Nice place great setting good atmosphere coffee nice. Excellent menus close to the main shopping centre located in the heart of sale. Staff friendly worth a visit
You turn up unannounced in a little town with your big smoke snobbery and find this 10 metres of Lygon St with an art deco twist. Not bad Sale.
Great breakfast and friendly staff, good menu choices. Happy to adapt an adult option for our son, and coffee was good, will be back next time we visit Sale.
I have been here multiple times and every single time it is delicious and the service is second to none. The cafe's decor is amazing and super pretty regardless of where you look. The coffee is quality and the food is incredible! Give this place a look if you are in Sale!
Mr Raymond is apparently THE place to get brunch in Sale. It happens to be one of the only places but that's a detail. After waiting 40 minutes (they open at 8am) the wait was well worth it. Grinding Allpress roast through an orange powder coated GB5 machine their coffee was good. I had the smashed avo on dark sourdough. If I had his in Melbourne I'd say it was on par (excellent) but for Sale, it was fantastic!
Good food and nice cafe - staff were friendly and helpful - had a good breakfast and staff were flexible with modifications - would go back if visiting Sale
I came here on the morning of my last day at Sale a couple of weeks ago after a recommendation from a local. It was a bit disappointing to see that it only opened at 8am, so my colleague and I were a bit rushed getting to work afterwards.
Nevertheless, the staff were really friendly and we were able to order our meals quite quickly. I'm not sure if they have it on the menu still, but I had polenta with mushrooms, salad and a poached egg. Having never had polenta before, I found it different but quite nice. The mushrooms and egg were cooked perfectly and I could not fault it.
I also had a cappuccino there and whilst it's not the best I've had, it was still pretty good.
Overall, the restaurant is set up really nicely and it feels quite cosy. The staff were accommodating and helpful.
I was surprised the earliest this place opens was 8am, you would think they would open a bit earlier for people who have to start work at 8:30am so they could come get a brekkie fix before work.
A colleague and I tried this place out before heading into work one morning, we ordered the mug sized coffees which were huge! I ordered the eggs benedict which was nice but on the small side considering the price. We heard a lot about this place after we went to the sister restaurant, the Tinamba hotel, interestingly they have similar styled menus which was cool that they kept that link between both venues.
What a great addition to Sale! Gorgeous fitout, friendly staff, good selection of food. We had breakfast- rosemary mushrooms and polenta for me,baked truffle eggs for the husband. Both were nice although slightly on the small side, especially for the price. Coffee was quite good, could have been slight stronger but well made with good flavour. Will definitely be back.
The pepper squid very nice. The eggplant quite rich. But the soft shell crab wasn't what I imagined, I recommend the cheese board all that was missing was maybe some olives
Great breakfast. Zesty poached eggs are delish. Lovely service and good coffee.
Great quirky place in sale. Moved to sale for a month and this place reminded me of back home in melbourne. Nice menu, good prices and great specials. Quinoa salad was a little bland but great fat chips and large soft drinks! Coffee was also great. Friendly staff and quick service! Recomend
An amazing place and great surprise when visiting Sale for the day. Loved it!
Wonderful decor! Awesome food! Definitely a Melbourne's best in Sale!
Went to Dinner food was really lovely both entree's and main.
When we arrived all the tables had bottle water on them, how disappointing to find the water was warm, possible out on the tables all day, the other thing I object to is waitress was filling half empty glasses with wine, how are we able to gauge how much we are drinking before driving.
Shame on you.
Nice food and coffee. Waiters are very friendly.
Cafe/bar in the middle of Sale Vic. Mister Raymond situated in Sale Vic has a funky atmosphere which is relaxing and laid back,, the staff are fun and love to have a chat, the owner welcomes you and remembers you the next time you com.e back, this cafe/bar has great music, delicious food and the best coffee, this will become our regular go to place.
Would eat there everyday if I could. Love the food and love the decor! 10/10
Had been looking forward to this new baby from the team at Tinamba Hotel and it didn't disappoint. Friendly staff, outstanding food, and decor that wouldn't look out of place in Melbourne's hipster enclaves. Mister R has come up with a winning formula offering breakfasts, lunch or a casual drop in for coffee and cake (and yes, it is great coffee). Burger hit the sweet spot with its fat chips, perfectly cooked beef, delicious relish and light touch of cheese. The lamb and rosemary shepherd's pie was sublime, with tender melt-in-the mouth meat, peas and corn under a sweet potato topping. A rich chocolate and macadamia brownie was a satisfying treat with coffee, and more than enough for two Lots of nooks and crannies mean you won't feel out of place if you don't sit down for the whole kit & kaboodle. Open late on Fridays, the restaurant/cafe provides a neat supper stop for the weekenders heading to the Gippy Lakes. Highly recommended.
The food was fantastic, it was like a party for taste buds.
Great fresh flavours and balance was just right.
Found it odd that they gad a reduced menu on the weekend as yes choices were a little limited but the food was great and I liked the atmosphere of the place
Best Thing To Happen To Sale In A Very Long Time!. Words cannot even describe how brilliant this place is!
The staff are faultless (each one has a distinct personality and confidence without being intrusive); the food is out of this world and the decor is to die for. Mister Raymond really is the best thing to happen to Sale in a very long time.
