Got dinner on a weekend away. Food was very tasty with generous serves. 5:45pm on Saturday evening, take away service was fast and polite. Really enjoyed the meal, with plenty of leftovers for tomorrow. Having eaten at many Chinatown restaurants in Melbourne I would say it's more in the western/Aussie style of Chinese food, being not true authentic style but probably not what is required in the area. Great feed, would recommend to anyone who enjoys good food, service and value. 4.5 stars (if I could) only because i believe there is always room for improvement.
Just want we wanted. A bang up feed of honest Chinese takeaway. Loved the fried ice cream and my 10 year old devoured the beef and blackbean. Good sized servings. Will be back for more.
Ate twice here. Excellent food and great friendly staff.
Good sized portions at a reasonable price.
If you are in San Remo, you'd be a fool to miss it.
If I had to say anything negative, it would be about the limited opening hours.
Good food was surprised had nowhere else to go was skeptical coz looks like old school aussie Chinese which is never good. Reasonable prices large portions.
Pretty average food. Great customer service even when you dine in with a million children at your table. Quite cheap for the large servings you get. Would recommend coming here if you were on a budget and wanting to feed a large group. (four adults & five children fed for under $160 with left overs)
We had King Garlic Prawns and Sweet & Sour Pork with Special Fried Rice
Delicious and good size meals
Will be back Good value for your money

Very surprised. Wife is chinese Malaysian and I'm basically an egg that partly has lived in Asia for past 15 years.
Did not expect the quality after reading reviews. I mean we stayed away from your standard western faves as we hate them.
We ordered Peking prawns, Wagyu Beef in pepper sauce, mixed seasonable veges with bean curd and fried rice. All were at minimum 7-8/10..
Will come back again. Service was OK but what do you expect
We took the six kids there for a celebration. We got a banquet. The food was delicious and there was enough to bring some home. I love this restaurant. It's my favourite eat in spot in San Remo
Excellent 'Aussie style' Chinese restaurant. By default you get a fork & spoon (so need to ask if you want chopsticks). The standards are all there on the menu, like lemon chicken etc. So no huge surprises there. But everything we chose had good flavour, good quality ingredients, and was cooked really really well. It felt like being in a restaurant in Hong Kong (where I lived for a few years), and service was quick & friendly. Not the Flower Drum, of course, but really good. Definitely recommended.
We had can highly recommend this place to eat we ordered the banquet C for four and it came out piping hot the entree was chicken and corn which was beautiful.then prawn cutlet and prawn toast which was also piping hot then main we had beef blackness combination seafoodnoodle and 🍋 chicken again piping hot and also delicious and mango and icecream and banana fritter also Makenziewas very friendly and courteous
We are from Melbourne and never tasted good like this thanks again 😊👍
Food is always good. We buy take a way & we also eat in it’s just the Asian tourists are noisy due to the large group & they also are such messy eaters so we try & book prior to the bus load arriving. This choice makes a much nicer dining in experience
The food is exceptional, service is great it is a must stop for dinner when passing San Remo!
Nice n hot, but lots of sauce. Will go again.
