Cannot recommend this place more highly. My husband & I got married in Mount Dandenong in September & wanted to host a breakfast the day after for the guests who rented accommodation on the mountain. I contacted Dine Divine asking if I could host the breakfast there (I wanted something different to the normal wedding breakfast package they offer) & the team were so accommodating! When I arrived, to my surprise, the whole venue was booked out for us! They managed to take care of all dietary requirements & the food was delicious. Would recommend to anyone looking for this service in the Dandenongs!!
Wonderful people and wonderful food, thankyou for all you did for us yesterday at our post wedding breakfast, highly recommend this restaurant
The meals we had tonight were absolutely 'top notch'. We have definitely found our new regular hangout. I couldn't fault anything at all. From the moment we walked in we were greeted with a warm welcome and they were attentive to our every need. We ordered the Rump of Lamb and the Panko-crumbed Chicken Parmigiana. Every element of the meal was prepared with care and dedication. My compliments to the chef. Obviously it is not just a job for him, rather a passion. Even though we were both full, we just had to try the desserts and coffe. We were not disappointed. The Chocolate Brownie and the Classic Scones were delicious. We were so impressed with the meal, service and character/ ambiance of the venue, that we enquired at the time regarding our daughter's 21st birthday coming up soon.
I recommend this beautiful place to everyone. The service is next to none the food is amazing
Oh my goodness! This isnt my first time coming here...the food was even better the second time round. I love this place. Came for mothers day and it was absolutely packed. Food came out fast and service was friendly and amazing as always. Scrumptious and finger licking goodness! Love love love!! Well done to the owners for keeping up the standard.
Such a great restaurant in a stunning location. Gorgeous building , excellent people, divine food just a perfect place for dining. Highly recommended. Enjoyed our delicious dinner for two, cooked to the perfection!
Great food Fabulous setting and the staff friendly and efficient Thoroughly recommend
Thank you Rita, Trevor and your amazing staff for making my daughter's 18th Birthday party so fantastic. You were all so helpful and supportive, nothing was any trouble and the food was delicious. We certainly did not leave hungry! I absolutely highly recommend you to anyone thinking of having their function with you. The care and thoughtfulness you showed had us feeling like you were part of the family.
Everything I like abt a restaurant. High quality food at reasonable prices in a beautiful dining room and attentive services.
My partner and I had lunch here yesterday and we absolutely loved it. The food was delicious and the service was impeccable. The staff were more than happy to help us out with our food orders and alter them to our liking. Our whole experience was personal and definitely recommend!
Excellent food and lovely people and service! Highly recommend!
Absolutely amazing food from entrée to dessert. Could not faults the menu and the service from the wait staff was spot on as we felt well taken care of. Beautiful atmosphere and immaculate gardens had won us over before entering the beautiful restaurant. Will be back.
Amazing venue for our wedding, great food and Rita and Trevor were fantastic hosts !! Highly recommend Dine Divine and get up there to try dinner or brekkie.
Loved this place. Food great & very friendly staff.
Great atmosphere. Highly recommended
My partner and I went to Dine Divine for dinner tonight and the food was absolutely sensational. Portion sizes were extremely generous and staff were lovely! Highly recommend dining here!
Beautiful food in a beautiful restaurant. Though I will say the calamari salad was a bit too salty but the texture was spot on. A generous serving too.
Very friendly service.
Cannot rave about this place enough! Whilst the menu is not overly large, what they do offer is beautiful. Every single item we’ve eaten, on every single occasion has been beautiful cooked with fresh ingredients and immaculately seasoned (even the garnish is tasty!). It’s our regular go to when we want a lovely home cooked meal and can’t be bothered cooking. My only complaint is that they’re not open enough days of the week! Highly recommend the pot pie and the chicken salad.
Had a fantastic dinner with my wife here. Very friendly service, quick to bring meals out and the food was perfect. Every course was well presented and tasted great. We will be back....
Almost go everytime when visiting dandenong ranges. Cake combo is price worthing with my favorite New York cheesecake and cuppuccino. Also big spaces for group dining with backyard parking area and mountain view.
Amazing! Calamari salad was perfect and Parmy was fresh with home made sauce. Scones were soft and fluffy with home made jam. Service was polite, efficient and attentive.
Beautiful restaurant, delicious food, and very important- wonderful service,Rita and Trevor are the super owners ! Love this gem in the Sassafras area! Would be definitely visit frequently!
Place was wonderful decorated as we went just before Christmas. The staff were welcoming and made us feel at home by telling us things like ‘eat or it’ll get cold’ which made us feel warm. Scones and raspberry jam was delicious, scones were soft and warm. Lots of tea was given which we struggled to finish between the two of us. The brownie was also rich in flavour. Would definitely go back to try other food on the menu and to get these scones again
The hospitality was second to none. My partner and I recently got engaged and they made us feel really special, bringing over two glasses of champagne. The food was amazing. We had a lovely time chatting with the owners. We will be back! Thankyou
We went to Dine Devine just to try something new and we were pleasantly surprised. Trevor is the owner with his wife, she works in he kitchen with the chef and he works on the floor. The food and service were amazing. The old church setting was lovely. We will definitely go back 😀😄
We always have a wonderful, relaxing experience @DINE DIVINE . We often sit outside with our dogs and are equally welcomed as if we are dining inside. The service is impeccable and the staff are so friendly. Food is beautifully presented wether afternoon teas or lunches and dinners. Highly recommended 😀
We had dinner here and can safely say that it was one of the best meals we have had. Everything was so flavoursome and cooked to perfection. We will definitely be coming back soon!
We had a wonderful dinner at this gorgeous old church converted into a restaurant. Menu choices are excellent and all of our meals were a delightful dance on our taste buds. Decor and atmosphere is excellent. Staff are happy, fun and very efficient to your needs. The overall experience is fabulous. We could not rate this highly enough. A must visit & dining experience for all. We will definitely return for another dance for our taste buds. Bravo!!
Visited Dine Divine last night for the first time and will definitely be returning and recommending to others
The quality of the food was second to none.
The staff where very attentive yet very discreet which makes for a great dining experience.
I found the decor to be very welcoming and of a high standard.
Dine Divine well done
Perfect experience, the restaurant was a church, all the meals have excellent taste, the environment is very comfortable and space is large.
Everything was lovely. Excellent service, and all the dishes we ordered tasted great!! Would definitely return. Great ambience and it’s always nice to visit Mt Dandenong
Food was nice and the service was great and value for the money .i heard this shop through my friends circle so I recommend to everyone ,The ambience is top class
We have rarely enjoyed such beautiful food when dining out! Dine Divine's menu offers traditional cusine with a unique artisan touch. Not boring!
Sure to impress. Outstanding value for money.
Dine Divine is set in a charming re-purposed chapel in Sassafras (The Dandenongs) offering a warm ambience with loads of character and great service.
Great for a night out, fabulous for special occasions. Would be wonderful for a wedding or similar special event.
Note: The restaurant opens
to the public Friday 11:30am - 9:00pm, Saturday and Sunday 9:00am - 9:00pm.
Very welcoming staffs, beautiful food and very cozy place .
Foods cooked to perfection with lots of flavour!
Fresh ingredients with verity of foods in the menu!
Their sticky date pudding highly recommend. Don’t miss it.
Lovely romantic dinner by the fire... friendly, attentive staff, great food. Wonderful night. The whole experience of being in the old church, being welcomed warmly and looked after so well the whole evening was just a treat.
The lamb - SO yummy!
But the best thing - their home made lemon curd. Super yum!!
One of the most wonderful restaurants we have been to! Lovely ambience, scrumptious food and outstanding service by Trevor! The Salmon Fishcakes were absolutely delicious, the Calamari and Trio Dips were out of this world! Thank you to the staff from Dine Divine!!
I had my 40th birthday at Dine Divine in March (late review sorry!) We hired out the whole venue and a really reasonable price. Rita and Trevor were very accommodating to my needs. We had a brunch menu which Rita designed for us and it was an amazing buffet - absolutely delicious!! We were able to adjust the menu and also the pricing beforehand :) It was from 10am - 1pm and they had everything organized when we arrived. We did not have to worry about a thing! I will have to add photos at a later stage.
Parking was also sufficient for the 80 guests we had. We were even able to have a children's area where the kids had free reign! It really is a lovely place and location.
Such a cute little find. Service was really nice and the food was lovely. Pricing was good as well. I will definitely be coming back in the near future.
A delightful Mothers Day set lunch menuDid have to wait a while for our food to arrive, but it was Mothers Day after all! Food was delicious. There were 14 of us, and we all enjoyed our 3 course meals. No complaints! Yum! From Entrée to mains to dessert! Also Dine Divine were very accommodating with the vegetarians amongst us and modified our meals as needs be! Definitely going back there again
Absolutely Devine...just like the name of the restaurant.. an old church converted into a restaurant, gorgeous..friendly atmosphere and lovely owners and staff.. came for mothers day and my mother could not be happier.. best omelette she has ever had in her life in Australia.. very old school cooked meals and amazing flavours.. The food came out very quickly on a busy day and all delicious I just can't believe the quality.. Absolutely amazing ❤
The restaurant is in an old church. The environment, service and food are all very good. We ordered a pie and the lamb. The lamb cooked just right, tender and juicy. The chocolate cake is tasty as well. Bust the coffee is too hot.
Fantastic food and excellent service! I had the lamb and as I am pregnant I had to ask for it well done. It was still amazingly tender and all condiments were complimentary to the dish - all tasty and well balanced. Will definitely come back!
This is an excellent venue, gorgeously presented inside, fire place, warm and responsive service and appropriately priced for the dishes we had. We came for breakfast on a Saturday morning and loved it. Food and coffee was delicious. Highly recommended. Parking on site.
What a lovely place for our Sunday brunch! This was an old Methodist Church, which was converted into a restaurant. Atmosphere is so enchanting and the food was delicious! I had the Divine Salad, which had mixed greens, roasted beetroot, activated seeds, tomatoes & goats cheese. I asked them for an addition of 2 poached eggs on my salad, which was amazing! ❤️
First Class Quality In Devonshire Tea. The scones were baked to perfection and the jam, gorgeous. This place rivals Miss Marple with the superb elevated aspect of Sassafras
Great food, amazing ambience, friendly service., expensive but value for money .. highly recommend if you are looking for a higher quality., away from city’s crowds
Went there with partner for pre-birthday meal, scones with fig jam, raspberry jam and mushrooms are those must haves on the memu. Great service too, we've made an excellent choice for dining here. Very much satisfied.
Best scrambled eggs ever! The Portobello mushrooms are to die for! Kale omlette has loads of kale stuffing if you are thinking healthy. Nice outdoor and classy indoor seating available. Service is amazing and friendly
Went here for Lunch in January 2018. Service Great - Food Great, especially the Scones/Jam & Cream. Beautifully restored building which was once a Church. highly recommend.
We had our early Christmas work function here. There were 34 of us and we couldn't have been treated any better by our hosts Trevor and Rita. The venue has a warm and friendly atmosphere, the service was 'top notch' and the food was well-presented and full of flavour ... and the portion sizes were generous, to say the least.
Thank you for a wonderful night and a great experience. We'll be back.

Up for the weekend and were flipping between a few restaurants. Definitely made the right choice. Brilliant venue, lovely staff, fantastic food. Couldn't of asked for more. One of the best lamb shoulders I have ever had and the sticky date pudding is a must for all those sweet tooth's out there
Service was outstanding, the food was delicious! We felt very at home and taken care of! And please don't leave without having some scones and tea! Sooo tasty! Will definitely be back on our next visit

Went with the family. Vege pasta colourful and flavorful, vege risotto ball cheesy and mushroom, dad very happy with the salmon, cheese cake soft and melts in mouth pack with favour, scone nice and soft with 3 different home made source all with its own taste, puts a big smile on everyone's face. Want more. Highly recommended. Oh and the owner is very friendly.

My partner took me at the end of 2016 for a celebratory dinner. The atmosphere was nice enough. Restaurant was very quiet. The food was more or less what you'd expect. We had paella and steak and bought desserts to take home. Our steak was a little over done but they happily remade it so the service was lovely. In the hills it's difficult to find better places for a nice meal, but probably wouldn't compete in areas with a lot of competition.
Celebrated my daughter's 18th birthday in the Chapel. Absolutely perfect night with the staff and food was amazing. Felt very cared about and nothing was any trouble. There was definitely plenty of food and no-one went hungry. The selection of canapés was perfect for the kids and I did not hear one person say they didn't like it, in fact the complete opposite. Highly recommend for any function.
We had Devonshire Tea and it was delicious. The scones were fresh and warm and all the jams were homemade. We couldn't pass up the toasted banana bread with lemon curd either! Definitely check this place out for a good priced and tasty meal!
What a beautiful place! An old church, converted (pun intended) into a restaurant and it has a cosy casual yet special feel about it. The service was fantastic, very attentive staff and the food was glorious. I order the beef pot pie and chips which was heavenly, I stole some food of my family around me and was happy to say the chicken parma and salmon was also terrific. If you like scones, then your in for a fluffy treat, but the cheese cake was the big dessert winner for me. I would like to go back for a function, the outside area was gorgeous and serene and I had a wonderful time. Family/kid friendly.
The food was beautiful, we had the salmon and snitzel and for dessert we had the panna Cota it was to die for. The service was 10 out of 10, the staff were very friendly.

This has become our number one favourite restaurant now. Can't speak highly enough. Love it!
Aug 4th: Third time back and still really happy. Celebrated my daughters 21st with close family and everyone very happy with the food quality and generous serving sizes. Highly recommended.
July 8th.
We returned here tonight after our amazing experience two weeks ago. Once again, great food, great service and great atmosphere. I had the lamb again as it was so mouthwatering last time. My husband had the Guinness and Beef Pot Pie where the beef was so tender it literally collapses in your mouth. Try the Sticky Date Pudding which is presented like a piece of artwork and tastes devine. We also booked our daughters 21st here for next month.

You will not be disappointed when you dine here. We took a trip up to the Dandenongs with our friends who were visiting from interstate. We found ourselves walking the streets looking for somewhere to grab some breakfast and stumbled across this gem. The service we received was outstanding from the moment we walked in. The quality of the breakfast blew us away. The baked beans in particular.....Wow!!!! Highly recommended for brekky & scones. We will definitely be back!
The service here was very good and the ambience was real nice. The man that served my girlfriend and I was very friendly. We ordered an entree size of the salt and pepper calamari, the chicken parmigiana and the salmon. The salmon was nicely cooked and the sauteed kale was very tasty. The parmigiana was ok, but I've definitely had better. It was a little bland. Still nice though. The calamari was good too. A nice place to eat if you're in the area.
Expecting a family restaurant my expectation was normally quite low. Actually I was pleasantly surprised by the service, which was friendly and on point. The food as well as the bill was honest, nothing to remember for decades and yet a warm enough environment to come back again if in he area. Ordered Arancini, Chicken Parma and Salmon fillet and in all cases we receive a generous serving, well presented, with good balanced flavours.
This is a cute little converted church near the end of the street that has great food & great service. Take that extra 5 minute walk you will not be disappointed. I definitely recommend it and will go back again!
Hospitality by the owners was incredible which matched the food! Great, real ingredients made with love. Love everything about this place. Perfect meal beside the cozy fire on a cold day.
Unexpected great food. Just randomly walked in and ordered a seafood linguini. Loved the sauce with little cubes of onions and tomatoes. seafood was fresh too.
My family took me here for Mother's Day. Such a lovely setting in an old church. We went in the afternoon for scones & Tea. The scones were huge & delicious, they were served with cream & your choice of jam & a pot of tea. Such a lovely way to spend Mother's Day. Will return again.
Had breakfast here today and found the venue very nice. The food was good but nothing special and a very limited choice. Coffee was not particularly good. Staff were friendly but not very professional. Cleanliness was good in the restaurant but not the toilet. May come back to try lunch or dinner but probably not breakfast.
Very friendly staff. I had customised my steak to include a mash and asked for gravy instead of the wine jus and it came out to be just perfect. My wife ordered parma and it was delicious as well. Very nice staff and I will recommend it to anyone who wants to have a sumptuous meal!!!
Great efficient service and delicious meals.
All our requested choices were accepted and delivered to perfection.
Would definitely recommend and cannot wait to go back.
We recently went on a trip to the Dandenong Ranges and we happened to stay the night at a nearby retreat. As we were driving, Dine Divine caught our eye. This restaurant is situated inside what was an old church! Very cool! The service was friendly but a little slow. The place was not very busy either. The food was, however, outstanding. We shared the flaming Saganaki as an entree. I had the steak on the bone and it was incredible - perfectly cooked medium rare steak. We shared the dessert, which again, was outstanding. I think this would be so perfect for a cosy dinner date!
Delicious cream teas in a beautiful location.
Limited parking available. Feels like a family run resteraunt. Definitely one way of going to church on a sunday ;p
Excellent food, service and ambience. Parking area is large and easy to navigate., unlike many restaurant in the Mount Dandenongs. The converted Church building used for this restaurant has a great deal of aesthetic beauty and history.
A church converted into a restaurant, this place still has stained glass windows, pews and restored timber interiors. It is quite roomy and the staff were attentive.
Our group had chicken Parma, trio of dips, wagyu burger and salad roll with beer batter chips. Quite nice food, nothing to write home about but decently edible!
Great atmosphere, warm, friendly service with scrumptious scones!! Fantastic parking, too. Love the tranquility and view onto the greenery. We enjoy Dine Divine for both an intimate dinner & relaxed lunch.
Perfect place for wedding! My friend had her wedding in Dine divine. The food and service were just amazing and outstanding. The sticky pudding is my favourite. Really recommend this restaurant to some one love decent meal and drinks!
Had my wedding reception in this restaurant. All my guests said the food there is very delicious and fresh. They offered good service. I am highly recommend this restaurant.
Enjoyed a lovely high tea for a close friends hens party. The staff were attentive and the food was well presented.
They happily accommodated for all dietary requirements and made sure to keep the tables clear of empty cups. I'll definitely be returning for lunch very soon.
Had a lovely glass of wine here with the wife. Beautiful atmosphere, pleasant service, and love the wine paddle! Great prices (as opposed to the woefully awful Miss Marple) and I've promised to come back.
A lovely place for a relaxing family meal. Service excellent, food delicious and kids very well looked after. We had the steak sandwich, chicken parma' and pie of the day which were all substantial and professionally presented. The pie of the day was a particular highlight with Mediterranean lamb and pink peppercorns. Wine list provided a good representation of regional Australian reds. Coffee great and milk shakes a hit with the kids. Will be coming again!
Had a great meal at this gorgeous restaurant. The owner was so lovely and helpful with our orders. Nothing was too much trouble. Great location and great environment. If you go, be sure to try the Pot Pie. Absolutely delicious!!!
Considering the area attracts a lot of tourists (both domestic and international) the vegetarian breakfast and a coffee were good value. Very busy later in the morning so I would suggest coming before 10am.
Nice restaurant, not too great food! The plate presentatuon was good, but our dishes had too much garlic even though I do love garlic! Clean. Staff is not very warm!
Have eaten here twice now - once for dinner and then again for breakfast and the food was delicious on both occasions. Will definitely be back. Their Big Breakfast is scrumptious as was their pancakes. Well worth a visit.
Had a wonderful relaxing afternoon tea eating yummy cakes and drinking refreshing lemon lime bitter. We enjoyed the views of the Dine Divine gardens.
My dog was treated like a princess with water, shade and offered to ensure she is located so could see us during our visit.
Definitely worth a visit
The wild mushroom risotto was a winner, westerner might not understand why they use weird mushrooms inside it, but since im familliar with the ingridients that they are using, which is black fungus, it was such a delight. It was creamy but not overly, and you can taste the umami broth.
Service was with with a chinese lady, was very friendly and patient, she explained everything that we asked with smile on her face, very good experience :)
was planning to go there again and when trying to make the booking asked for their mushroom risotto, and answered that they dont have it anymore, whatt? :( dissapointing!
Accidentally stumbled across this place yesterday what a gem, an old church completely refurbished full of character.
The food was great, beautifully presented and tasty food all prepared in house and the owners Trevor and Rita were only too happy to accommodate our sometimes unusual requests. This place is a hidden gem and a must try.
Visited Dine Divine on Saturday night for dinner and was absolutely blown away! The service was excellent, food absolutely perfect and great portion sizes. They were extremely accommodating when we asked for a change to the menu and our water was constantly being refilled. My partner and I were the last ones to leave and we had a lovely chat to the owners and staff. Had never been here before even though it is only a short walk from my house. We were beyond impressed and will be back again!
We were so lucky to have found Dine Divine in Sassafrass. Wonderful building and the interior had been updated but retained elements of the old church. We were welcomed and told something of the history of the restaurant then shown to our table in the restaurant with a very welcoming lit fire going. The menu was interesting and reasonably priced. I had the Linquine which was cooked al dente with a sauce that was full of flavour but not over powering. My husband had the Wagyu burger and didn't talk - he was too rapt in the flavours - he is hard to please and seeing him enjoy his lunch was a real pleasure. The wine list was comprehensive and not over priced. The owners couldn't have been more friendly and all in all we had a really enjoyable visit and will be back!
We found this fabulous restaurant on trip adviser so glad.
Great food, great service the best night.
Highly recommend we will be back for sure . Sat close to the open fire could not of asked for more .
Took my mum and 3 sisters here for high tea on Mother's Day, food was beautiful and a large amount for a VERY reasonable price! Beautiful atmosphere and the staff were lovely.
Just lovely. Visited this cosy, beautiful resteraunt today as a Mother's Day treat. The online booking request was responded to within hours - an indication of what was to come. The service was so warm and attentive while we dined and a request to return an hour later for follow up scones was happily organised for us - they even held the table for us!
Food was delicious, fresh and the scones were divine - so fresh & soft, definitely worth the drive.
Will return again & again!! Such a lovely place to relax in with a winning combo - fantastic service & delicious food!
Mrs Kane. I had soup of the day and scones with coffee, and it was 10/10
Just beautiful.... We spent a weekend in The Dandenongs and initially planned a night in, but decided to go out at the last minute and we found Dine Divine on Urbanspoon. We were not disappointed at all. From the gorgeous surroundings in an old church, the attentive and friendly staff (and owners) to the delicious food.
The lady who took our order knew the menu very well and was able to recommend dishes from personal experience.
The lamb shoulder was absolutely melt in the mouth and my partners steak was cooked to perfection. Dessert was definitely a highlight with the sticky date pudding and trio of desserts which changes daily.
We look forward to returning on our next trip to the Dandenongs to try out more of their menu - especially their scones which they are well known for.
