Review Fortuna Chinese Restaurant - Scarborough

We are visiting from interstate and were in the area when we felt like having a local Chinese meal. Not expecting much, we were blown away by the attention to detail of the decor and cleanliness, and impressed with the service and food. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, the food we ordered (hot and sour soup, salt and pepper tofu and seafood sizzling claypot) was fresh and delicious! We would highly recommend this place and definitely come back again.

Ordered prawn omlette and special fried rice.takeaway. Only one table occupied at 6.30 pm.What we got was yesterdays leftovers. Prawns were so obviously old and tough. Fried rice was just that!,As a long time Chinese foodie worst meal I have had the misfortune to be served. Threw it away after two mouths full .Waste of $35 not even one star

I got the garlic prawns and salt and pepper squid... oh. My. Goodness. It was so, so good I had to call them just to let them know how much I enjoyed my food. Please support this business and don’t let me favourite Chinese restaurant be affected by COVID. Sending so much love to the owners and chef.

Quite possibly the worst Chinese food we have ordered in a very long time. Bland, tasteless rice and chicken was soggy. Very disappointing and will never visit again.

Disappointing. The dim sims are frozen processed product that can be purchased at a supermarket. The prawn dumplings are the same.

Honestly the best Chinese establishment in perth by a long shot. It looks naughty outside but inside doesn't let you down. It is a succulent Chinese meal!

I have spent many a happy time at The Fortuna over the past 40+ years and while there have been changes in management over that time, I still love going there.  Most recently (in the past few months I've been twice) it still has a nice familiar, neighbourly feel about it.  I have seen in some reviews that ppl criticise the staff for their accents? Please!  if you're not willing to find a way to communicate, go to KFC or Macca's.  We have always found the staff to be kind, professional and the food is great - good price and delicious.  Scarboro local

Really good Chinese! Very fresh veges and tasty dishes. <br/>We’ve only ever had takeaway delivery (+$5.00 call or message them direct) Prompt and friendly.<br/>While it is a bit pricey, it’s the best takeaway Chinese we’ve had in Perth.

Fantastic place! Food is awesome and you can order it without the toxic MSG as well. Superb! While we lived in Scarborough it was the best place around for Chinese and thats even with a hundred to choose from up in Inaloo. Great place!

Ordered take away at Fortuna as we live locally. We had the special fried rice, sweet and sour chicken and sizzling beef. The food was tasty and reasonably priced for serving portion.

THE EXPERIENCE WAS RENDERED TORTUOUS BY THE INTENSELY STUPID SERVICE! <br/>Ordered braised lemon chicken, was full of onions and few pieces of chicken and was bland. Ordered Almond chicken they got the order wrong and gave us chicken omelette, came back and they were arguing in 3 about that we say Omelette instead of Almond -.- They didn't even know how to pronounce Omelette properly and also they told us not to use numbers to order but names instead and they couldn't even understand the order. Also the lady told me that the guy who took the order didn't even know english very well but for them we were still on the wrong side and kept saying that we ordered Omelette. <br/>Anyway we finally got the Almond chicken and was awful. Bland BLAND BLAND BLAND!<br/>Oh and the dim sim steamed.... worst quality ever! I think those you buy from Spudshed are better quality! <br/><br/>PLEASE DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS PLACE!

Good chinese but quite overpriced!!!<br/>Its got a nice relaxed vibe and really extensive menu - while the drinks are really reasonably priced the food is overpriced for what you get.

This place is very chilled and the vibe is relaxed. The decor is a bit all over the place and looks very cheap, however, it still almost makes the place feel very.. Comfortable and approachable. <br/>The waitress took very long periods of time to come to our table even though we were one of 2 small tables in the entire restaurant on a weekday night. <br/>We had the Vegetarian Spring rolls that were two over cooked, too large Spring rolls that are not worth the price you pay. <br/>We had the Honey chicken that was dripping in what seemed to taste like normal tube honey from the market albeit the actual honey chicken itself was tasty enough. <br/>We then had the Mee Goreng.. Which might as well come from a can. It was slimy and undercooked. <br/><br/>Again we waited for a very long time to get the check and to get the rest packed away. <br/> <br/>The only redeeming quality is the relaxed feel.

Nice food. I love you. Nice service . Good cook. I never disappoint even I had been there more than 10 times, I am highly to recommend to my friend.

Ordered the special fried rice and honey chicken, and was surprised at the large portion they came in. The atmosphere was nice and I enjoyed the food. I would love to come back again.

Come here twice and won't come back any more. The food was overprice. Need $1 pay for credit card. Prawn cracker was free but not fresh at all. Satay beef was full of oil. deep fried chicken was come with a small chicken dicer and big batter. Same as sweet and sour pork, some "pork" wasn't pork, only a batter not even a pork inside. Spring roll was over cook and tasted burn. As less the steam rice taste good.

Took my boyfriend here for deep fried ice cream which he'd never had. Definitely not a good first experience for him. They microwaved it!! Because the batter was soft and peeling off and the ice cream wasn't warm at all. It was pretty bad and not the best service or vibe there. We were there for 20 minutes or so and we saw someone send back there food.

Really disappointed with this place. I'm not picky in the slightest but the food I got was pretty disgusting. I just got some special fried rice and sweet n sour chicken, and the chicken was hardly edible. It was like they gave me all the offcuts, full of gross black chunks of who knows what. The rice was quite dry and boring as well. Do not recommend!

We have just moved into Scarborough and walked here for dinner. Didn't think much of the carpark or enterance so wasn't sure what to expected but we were very pleasantly surprised We ordered the Japenese tofo , bbq spare ribs and salted fish and chicken fried rice and would have to say it was so yummy and so looking forward to bringing our family and friends back to eat there . One of the best Chinese meals we have enjoyed in perth for a long time.

Food is always delicious!. Have gone to this restaurant many times and the food was never bad. The service is always fast and the food is always on spot! Interior is very old fashioned and nice. The young lady behind the counter was very kind and friendly. Will definitely recommend to friends and family.

Great Food ALWAYS FRIENDLY!. We have only ever gotten takeaway from here but we love it, it is now our regular chinese takeaway place! The Chinese lady behind the counter is always friendly and we always get Free prawn crackers!! Love it!

The worst. Here on holidays, was the most disgusting food we have ever had the misfortune to of had to pay for. Just as well we are not at home as I would not feed it to my dog .

Overpriced Slop. Don't waste your time or money. Unpleasant westernised "Chinese" food. Also couldn't get the order right. Friendly staff, doesn't make up for the rest.

Love It. Big Fan of Fortuna Chinese, I live locally so that's a plus, but the restaurant specialties are great!

Just Fab!. Entrees, mains and desserts were all extremely satisfying! My family left the place thinking our stomachs would burst due to the delicious and large portions of food we were provided by the place. Service was exceptional as the staff catered for pretty much our needs and wants whist dinning at the restaurant. Without a doubt we will be dinning here more frequent and even maybe take away.

Very satisfied. A Family friendly restaurant that I would highly recommend to anyone out there looking for authentic Chinese dishes. Service was very good and the wait for food was not long at all. We weren't satisfied with one of our dishes as it was a bit too chilly for us but the staff there were more the happy to remake it for us. The special fried rice was perfect and the portion it came in was very generous. We will definitely be coming back more often.

The young lady servicing me was good, but the food was bad, pink chicken and oily, I came back ask for my money back, the rude manager rejected me and said that was my fault, never go back

This place is a bit creepy on both inside and out. Decor is extremely old fashioned. The lady serving me at the till was quite nice & helpful. The food didn't take long at all. I probably won't come back here...Greasy and the pork looked odd. I give up on Chinese food!!!

Bland food, incorrect food delivered, staff rude and non accommodating. Really... if you get it wrong re do it right as requested, or refund the money don't argue with your customer and tell me you will speak to your chef. Now waiting for pizza to be delivered....... Very unhappy family never will we return to Fortuna ps the experience cost us $60 we returned the food and were refused a refund..... Really shame on you

Worst service ever!! Waited an hour for one dish, when we asked the waitstaff if they'd forgotten our order they told us we'd only order 5 to 10 minutes ago. A straight out lie. No apology for the delay. People who arrived after us were served before us and people who ordered after us received their meal first. Very poor service. Will never go back!

Great fried rice. Fried rice with shrimps and barbeque pork pieces..Their lamb and beef are really nice too. Decent price, cool environment and friendly service.

The restaurant serves Australian Chinese dishes, I would like to give this place a kinder review but here are the facts. <br/><br/>The quality if the food is inconsistent, although mostly always edible. <br/><br/>An average take away experience at , what I would deem to be a fairly high price.

I totally recommend the Mongolian lamb!! <br/>Been there several times... Never had a bad experience! Awesome Chinese food!
