Worst fish n chips ever, so overcooked it was inedible! How can u get Fish n Chips so wrong. Always hit & miss with this place, long wait times & AGAIN got the order wrong! It was a convenient location but I won't be ordering here again. When I rang to sort it out, the owner was arrogant & dismissive. When I said I was going to write a review, she applauded me to do so. Wasted my money! WOODLANDS FISH N CHIPS PUT THEM TO SHAME! I do not recommend! I'm trying to find how I can post a picture???

The fish and chips are absolutely lovely! And very generous with the chicken salt which is a must. However would be nice to be able to buy some onion rings (instead of the spring rolls which were definitely not a repeat order)

One of the worst fish and chip experiences of my life. Waited over 1.5 hours for a simple order of fish and chips for two. Fish was overcooked, chips were cold, zero seasoning after specific requests. Would not recommend.

Definitely not the best fish and chips in Perth, close by no means. Soggy battered prawns, scallops that taste of plastic, rubbery squid rings, chips that are soggy and oil that tastes old. Im definitely not going to be a repeat customer. Easy to get a customer, harder to keep them, and these guys need to take a good look at their food and the lack of love.

Just sat there for 15 minutes, went to Brighton rd. Market, came back and watched three UBER eats orders go out, then found out they forgot my order, for the second time in a row. Then, they proceeded to send out another UBER eats order that was the same as mine in front of me, and start mine again. This is the epitomy of where a good business franchises and the standard of service goes down in a big way. My only guess is that the owners are not from here, hire young children and themselves don’t care. Go elsewhere.

Completely disappointed in this place. Went to order fish & chips when I saw it was over $40 for 2 people decided to just get the burgers. While eating my burger there was an entire olive including a pip!!! Got a crab stick as they are my favourite even though they were $2.20 each, was half the size of a normal crab stick & tasted awful! Food took forever & was just plain gross. Do not recommend going here at all ever!!!!!!!!!!

Absolutely appalled... came here today for Good Friday fish and chips with my family and was absolutely disgusted with the quality of the food from here! Paid $400 for Stale, old chips and the fish was black and again over cooked. The oil they use must be weeks old. Absolutely shocking, if I could give this 0 stars I would. Don’t go here ever!!

Very disappointing. Brighton Road used to have a legendary fish and chips outlet. Now there is a long menu of trendy stuff ... but our fish and chips was unacceptable. Fish tasted okay but the batter was really oily. Chips ... some were inedible. Rubbery, tough, as if they were old. How can a fish and chip shop fail to serve good chips?

Opted for Sweetlips for lunch. The squid rings were tasty and fresh; however, the fish (Hake) was a bit odd and seemed like it went straight into the fryer frozen. The banana fritters also had an odd taste.

I ordered on Friday night through uber eats. We ordered 2 x shark (Panko crumbed) plus chips and calamari. They gave us fish that was clearly hake, and when we opened the box it smelt off ( literally smelt like fart). Not just one piece, but both serves. Being a real sucker, I took a bite and immediately spat it out. We’ve both been sick since. The chips were cold and the calamari was rubbery and cold. All for $69?!!!!!! What a rip off, and the health inspectors should go through this joint, serving customers off fish!!!

I first tried Sweetlips Scarborough a couple of days after they first opened and the queues were out the door. The fish and chips weren't very nice so it's taken me this long to give them another go. Sadly they haven't improved. Ordered a regular fish and chips which was thin pieces of overly battered fish and way too greasy. The chips couldn't save the meal either - not cooked through properly. Just think of the calories I saved throwing it away! They really need to go to the cafe at Perry Lakes Basketball stadium on a Saturday morning and find out how to cook decent chips. On a positive note the shop looks great, is clean and bright and the staff friendly both on the phone and behind the counter.

Only downfall is the price but they do make up for it in flavour, freshness and amazing customer service! Have never had a rubbish meal from here. Staff are so polite, blows me away every time. Highly recommend the battered feta!

Fancy fish and chip shop. Coming from NZ I hate the prices we have to pay for fish and chips here espcially when they are rubbish - sweets lips while expensive the food is good! Their battered oysters are awesome and the seafood basket has a good mix serving size.

Pathetic! Waited 45min for a large chips.. For JUST CHIPS! Will never be back. Will aim to tell everyone I ever met of this experience. My suggestion if your thinking of fish and chips.. Or even just CHIPS is Brighton rd fish and chips.

Nice fluffy and crunchy batter for the fish and not too oilly. A smalish serve of chips and calamari for $15.50. Cooked to order and was really nice. Not soggy. Big and clean dining area. Lots of other options and fresh seafood in the glass cabinet. Recommended for the short trip up the road from the beach.

We had a voucher and decided to use it yesterday. We splurged on barramundi with chips and pineapple fritters and calamari. We drove to the beach and ate it at sunset. The fish was absolutely amazing! Not frozen but actual fresh fish! I have to say it was the best battered fish we've ever had. Highly recommend! It is expensive but you get what you pay for.

Very expensive for the quality of food they serve. Ordered some take away, grilled salmon with salad but the salad was missing luckily I checked in the car and hubby went to get the salad. Rest of the meals we could not check properly as it was sealed, and when we reached home we found out they forgot to put chorizo with baby squid. We rang them to let them know, the supervisor said they did not charge for the chorizo. I was just disgusted at how they could lie coz I added up the bill from before and they charged us $49 which is including the chorizo. Never going back to this place.

Sweet lips is one of best fish and chips in Perth! I've had it twice now and both times the fish is beautiful and fresh with the right fish to batter ratio. I also ordered the salt and pepper squid which again was fresh and tasty. I thought it was good value for money with 2 big fillets of fish and a decent amount of chips for $11.90. Overall a positive experience and definitely worth a visit.

Called up. Was told order would take 30 minutes and we couldn't dine in because restaurant is full. We got there in 15 minutes because we were already nearby. Only 2 tables were occupied. Good value! $29 for dinner for 3!!

Not too bad.. Lunchtime midweek. 3 other customers. Typically overpriced Perth for any place trading on a "name". Kiwi hake is the standard "fish & chips" at $12 and $15 for std and large. Any variation to this heads up towards $21 for std. serve. As a comparison my local fish & chips serves local snapper as its std F&C for $7.50 - here it was $21 !!! I do realise that the price of most local fresh fish at the market is astronomical, but not snapper, surely? Anyway I had blue spot emperor at $17 F&C and it was excellent. Firm white mild flavoured flesh in a minimal batter. The chips were not spectacular but were firm and not greasy or smelly. A good F&C meal on the day.

Disappointed for the first time ever!!!!. We have been a regular visitor to Fremantle and Leederville shops for many years and have loved your fish and ships with the lovely light batter. We have visited Scarborough and three other occasions and the quality has been as good as Leederville and Fremantle which has remained very constant. Howeve,r on Good Friday we were very disappointed with the batter, which was thick and greasy and the fish was over cooked. is the Sarborough shop been franchised out? Jeff Munn

Overpriced rubbish. Soggy batter on the fish and chips which could easily be beaten by buying a bag of frozen oven chips and cooking yourself. I wouldn't mind so much but it's over $10 for one portion of 'regular' fish and chips. Oh and don't bother ordering the crab cakes - you get two and they are tiny, for $5. Go to your local, long running, old school chippy instead. You'll pay a bit less but will enjoy your fish and chips much more.

WHAT A RIP OFF, SOGGY FLOURY TERRIBLE CHIPS, & AVERAGE FISH. The chips where SOGGY, floury & amongst the WORST ive ever had,........ & the whiting was OK, but was a pathetic TINY serves. (as another reviewer said wouldn't feed a 4 yr old, so true) Seriously first & LAST time id go there. Fish & chip shops are a dime a dozen business & for one that pitches itself as supposed "gourmet quality" fish & chips,......was anything but !

Don't bother. We usually dont judge a venue by the other reviews but everyone is spot on with sweetlips scarborough. The place is terrible. Very bad service - waited 15 mins and then had to prompt someone to serve us. Fish was definitely not fresh and super oily and terrible chips.

Sweetlips, never again... unless they change their ingredients. Took wife and mums there yesterday for lunch. The Barramundi was awesome and moist, but $59/kilo OMGWTF, that is far too overpriced. Overall the experience was pleasant but the thing that killed it for us was the simple fact that the Batter they coat EVERYTHING with contains a massive amount of MSG, or factory created free glutimates. My wife has a severe sensitivity to msg, and 5 mins after starting her meal felt the headache come on, which for us is a dead giveaway. I then asked to see the ingredients of the batter, and there it was, 3 types of msg or derivatives. Seriously Guys, what the hell?? Why do you put flavour enhancer over your 'fresh' seafood, you shouldnt need to enhance it's already lovely flavours, unless you use it to hide things. Batter should not have msg or additives in it. Shame on you for taking the easy way out. It is the next day and her Migraine is still affecting her balance and vision, not to mention the pain. So aside from that glaringly obvious detractor, food was good, NOT ENUF CHIPS, and what the hell with the prices... You are a fish and chip shop, not the Rockpool.

Tasty and plentiful. We ordered the seafood basket at lunchtime. The batter was light and crispy and the fish was delicious. We also enjoyed the squid rings, prawns and scallops. The meal was super filling for the two of us. Very pleasant dining area; glad we didn't get it take away!

Bad fish. Just there tonight for takeaway. Had the family feast with good squid and prawns. Unfortunately most if not all of the fish was inedible. That is inexcusable for fish and chip shop, so won,t be going back.

Unfortunately there is nothing nice about this place. It is overpriced and very under value with bad service to boot. My emails were never answered and the 100% satisfaction guarantee is non existance. They try to overcharge. Disagreed with cashier twice (over seperate items) over the price on menu to price trying to charge. Chips were scungy and you receive very few for the money paid. Food arrives cold after your wait. Subway is a much better option so that's saying something.

Way overpriced. I got the mixed grill for 19.50 and it wouldn't feed a four year old! 4 overlooked prawns, very greasy and the chorizo renders the seafood tasteless. I had to order chips extra as none come with the grill (though you would expect some to accompany at this price) and they were tasteless and boring, no amount of salt vinegar or $1.70 ketchup improved them. I'm sorry but sweet you ain't. Was here two years ago it was fab fish and chips then. Note to owners of sweet lips get off your fancy pad you no doubt live in and reel yourself into your shop and cop on. I won't be going back.

I went to sweet lips tonight and ordered one serve of fish and chips plus an extra chips.. After 1hr 10mins still no food, went to the counter and I was told it will be another 7 mins, 15 mins later I was told it would be another 5 mins! At this point there was a cue of people asking where their food was, there was even a young family who had been waiting for over an hour and when they asked where their food was they were told that there was no record of their order. When we finally got our food they have forgotten the extra serve of chips! Greasy chips and flavourless fish. Never going back! Overpriced and poor service

1hr wait for Fish and Chips..... Tonight I went out to get some fast food for dinner and decided to try out the new Sweetlips store on Brighton Road in Scarborough. It was busy but was told it would only be half an hour wait so ordered my fish and chips. An hour and a half later, still no fish and chips, told it would be another 15 mins (people were asking for refunds left, right and centre at this point). Asked for a refund. Went to Grill'd and was eating a burger within 10 mins. Sweetlips, your fish and chips must be pretty amazing if they take 1.5 hours to make! Grill'd, still amazing as always....

Never go back. I have been a Scarborough local for 5 years and eaten several times at Brighton Fish supply and also sackville fish and chips but thought I would try sweet lips..... Never again! Massively over priced, greasy, flavourless and over cooked. You are basically paying for the fancy decor, not the food..... Staff were friendly enough but food - AWFUL

THE ABSOLUTE WORST. Horrend.... THE ABSOLUTE WORST. Horrendous service, fish tasted "fishy" in a really bad way, chips old, and dusted squid was just terrible. Nice looking place, but that's where it ends, stick to your local fish and chips as this chain / commercial place is really disappointing on all levels.

Have given this three shots. Lacking staff. Walked out the second time without ordering as waited five minutes but people behind counter not even acknowledging us. Third time got fish burger with panko crumbs. Bland and disappointing. Turkish bun too doughy, not toasted. Said it came with salad, only a sprinkling of shredded iceberg lettuce. I wonder if the owners have even tasted half the food on this menu? Surely you couldn't be happy serving that up? Bring back Brighton rd. Cheaper and nicer. Ps if you want a good fish burger, peters by the sea is the best

Great for Kids. Went to Sweetlips Scarborough with some friends and their kids after it was recommended by a neighbour. Found the fish really tasty and the chips lovely and crunchy. It was great to be able to share off a tray. We gave the kids their own tray to pick from while they drew and coloured in using the crayons provided - a big plus for us as its hard to find "kid friendly " establishments. The staff were friendly and it was no trouble for them to quickly cook more squid rings after we underestimated how many of the kids would actually eat them. Would definitely go there again.

Sweetlips Scarborough is DELICIOUS!. Absolutely beautiful fish and chips (my husband and I had the pink Snapper, my girls the kids fish and chips- which they tell me is hake) We also had the fetta cheese which came recommended and some squid rings which were delicious. . I'm an casual reader of US but have not joined until today because I seriously can't believe the bad reviews?? No saggy mushy tasteless stuff here. Weird?

I'm quite tolerant of sub standard take away but this is pushing it. Mushy, washed out fish. If you closed your eyes you wouldn't know if it was a scallop, squid ring or fish. Will not be back except maybe to pick up some tartare sauce on the way to any other local fish and chips joint.

Great experience. I visited Sweetlips with my 3 children it was easy, efficient and tasty. It is on the expensive side however it is more a dine in option than takeaway. Great addition to Scarborough.

Not Impressed. Sweet lips inhabits the old brighton fish supply store, and is a massive disappointment. The prawns were supposed to be grilled but were raw. The chips are a let down also. I agree with "devastated" on this, head over to Brighton Fish Supply for a decent feed. I can't recommend this sweet lips store unless you are looking for overpriced fish and chips at sub standard quality.

Awesome food and fantastic service. After being a loyal customer of both the Leederville & Freo stores we checked out the new Scarborough shop and we were very impressed!! Very busy night as it was Father's Day but they kept us happy with some free samples while we waited. Scarborough residents you're lucky to have such an iconic well known 'brand' move into the area...fantastic!!!

Devastated. Brighton Road Fish and Chips are the best in Perth. So sad i now have to put up with this over-priced pretencious shenanigans called Sweetlips as a replacement, posing as some sort of fine dining experience. Do yourself a favour locals and continue to patronise the old fish and chip shop (moved to Innaloo). For price and quality there is no comparison to the fish and chippe we Scab's locals used to take for granted. Not happy!
