A bit suspicious to talk about Mr Kooka, they are good friends and everyone there is a family to us.
However I won't be writing if the food and the service were not good. I've been there helping as I could, to build the place with them, and I see from the beginning the love they put in that place. I saw them giving their lifes to build something for others, from the small things to hiring good chefs, and staff and also training their staff, staff that also helped in the renewal. They are always listening to our ideas and feedback, just be kind with them and they going to retribute with all the love. To summarize the food is amazing, the people even more, definitely a home for me.

Loved the vibe of this place so much that I took hubby to another location a week later 😜. I ordered the calamari salad and it was far better than what I was expecting. Plenty of calamari cooked to perfection, lovely and tender with a beautiful crumb. Salad had avocado and Parmesan cheese scattered throughout it and was a winning combination with the crunch of the lettuce. I ordered a shake with my meal and at only $5 it was a bargain. Served in a mason jar with both cream and icecream you couldn't beat it for value. Service was quick and staff were lovely and friendly. Hats off to the chef, everything was cooked to perfection and as I mentioned I've already been back 😊
Kid eats free deal is really worth the money. For every spend of fold $25 you will get 1 kids meal and drink. We spent more than $50 and we got pretty delicious kids meals, a pulled pork mashed potato and a pancake ice cream. Even the portion is good enough for grown up kids. Only the drinks, an orange juice and a milkshake, came with small plastic glasses. As always, Pork ribs were always our favorite dish when we visited this restaurant.
Amazing food! Prices were fantastic for dining in Scarborough, great atmosphere with fake grass. Board games and other fun features of the place!

My friend and I were meeting and decided to check out other places in the area.
We went from Oceans Bar to The Shack and ended up at El Groto.
One thing that these places had in common was the exceptional customer service! It felt like a neighborhood tradition. That's the way it should be done! Customers are the bloodline of any business.
When we got to The Local Shack, we were served by a guy named Ian. My friend ordered a beer 🍺 and I ordered a Large - Sweet Potato Chips with barbeque sauce.
The food got to us in time and, Ian gave us good service with a smile.
As we exited and said thank you! Ian said he appreciated us as customers, especially that I got to aknowledge him. He's got the heart 💓 of a true champ! Cheers to that!!!
The Local Shack is conveniently located across from a bus stop so you shouldn't have issues getting transport when you're not driving.
