Review Seaford Fish & Chips - Seaford

Melissa Lamb
My favourite Fish and Chip Shop that I drive 3 suburbs away to get to and been going to for 10 years. The Only shop I know with hand cut chips and potato cakes. Real potato not those hard yellow frozen ones found everywhere now. Fish is also good here.

Overall good clean shop, friendly staff and yummy food. I had the lunch for one...

Thought I’d try another fish and chip shop on my second beach trip to Seaford but made my way back to this shop for a good feed 😋 The chicken nuggets are the best!

Haven't been here for quite awhile, you know how good something is by how busy it is and it was packed! Fish and chips were great. Didn't take too long either will definitely be back

Went at 7pm on a Sunday and were told that they closed the grill early and weren't able to do grilled fish. While we waited for our order we watched one of the staff members standing by counter eating chips and licking their fingers after each bite. Which is disgusting even in non Covid times. When we opened our order up at home it was missing a piece of fish and dim sim. Chips are soggy and disappointing. We will not be returning.

Been coming here 29 years, and my dads been coming here 53 years, Bill & Tom always did an awesome job. When the new owners took over the chips sometimes taste stale, something for them to improve.

Ordered 3 blue grenadier’s, got flake. And it was awful anyway. Ordered a fried dimsim, got a spring roll? Chips tasted like raw potato. Just all round gross :(

Wow this was one busy fish and chips shop. Great service regardless of the fact it was so busy. They had some deal the lunch pack was perfectly portioned for one. Everything cooked well and good chips is all you can ask for at a fish and chips joint

Please....don’t go to this one. It is bad! Fish and chips are bad. Too messy and chips are soft and oily. Calamari are too rubbery. There are 2 other fish and chips in the area. It’s the worst fish and chips I’ve had. Don’t believe the sign on the window. This must have applied to previous owners.

worst fish and chips the owners have a huge problem with customers that complian very nasty there is two other fish and chip shops in seaford I would go there before coming back here in future

Would not recommend this place. Flake didn't seem fresh and was not cooked. The batter was very dense and not crispy at all. Owners was not friendly at all.

First and last time ordering here. I ordered one of the packs that they have going there. On arriving home and opening up the pack i was shocked to see dried up, old, withered chips that had clearly been made from old/bad potatoes. I called the owner to voice my complaints and he tells me he knew about the "potato problem" but still went ahead to sell the bad product and take my money for it! He went on to say that he had been sold a bad batch of potatoes so he needed to use this up before his next order. Translated- I know im selling you crappy food but il take your money anyway and hope the customer cant be bothered complaining.
Was completely inedible. Will never be back again.

False advertising! On the window it says "Voted no: 1 of the top 10 best fish and chips in the Herald Sun". If that was ever true it must have been under the previous owners. We were disgusted with our fish. Paid $8.50 for grilled whiting which was around the size of a large sardine. The actual fish in the fried flake was also the size of a sardine and the majority of it was just batter. We were still hungry after $28 worth of fish etc. Do yourself a favour and avoid this place. There are 2 other good fish and chips shops in the area.

Without any doubt the worst fish and chips I have ever had, chips - soggy, fish - grey and the batter soggy and thick, and hell an Aussie fish and chipper with our Flathead! What the?
Nina
The lady owner is super lovely and remembers me every time I pop by after I go to the beach. Food is good, their chips are fresh and crispy. The popcorn chicken is nice too

Quite a few of the fish 'n' chipperies here claim they are the top in Seaford.
This place has had its' passable moments, but when they're super busy - their fish is just hard to enjoy (overcooked and seemingly un-fresh batter) and the chips are only good enough for the gulls.

Cheaper than your normal Fish and Chip shop....five bucks for a cheeseburger Wow! Able to feed the kids for a good price and tasty burgers. A nice choice!

Terrible terrible terrible, old oil, batter did not attach to the calamari, the chips were more old than 'old school' and the majority of the rest seemed to be straight out of a box of cheap imported farmed seafood.

It seems so hard to mess up fish and chips, however, this establishment proves it is possible.

This shop claims to be the winner of the Herald Sun Award. Not true it was Grilled and fried around the corner in Station St.If you want greasy then this is the place.Spud

Bad. The worst fish and chips I have eaten. Greasy tasting chips and strong fish.

Recently moved down here and was looking for some good take-away places. This place is now a regular for us. Best fish and chips shop. Food is always cooked fresh and so tasty!

Old School Chips. Don't expect anything fancy but if it's deep fried chunks of potato cooked to perfection then this is the place... Great chips we go here often!
Sarah
Terrible Attitude. Had such a negative experience here. They claim to do "old-school" fish and chips, which really translates to nothing healthy, dirty oil and sweaty cooks. Watched as another customer was belittled for not enjoying the so-called "service". Had to wait forever to get my order and by the time I received it I didn't want to eat it after watching how it was made. Really disappointing. Never going back.

Best fish & chips ever. Been there since 1967 so they're obviously doing something right! Be warned its old school... If it can't be deep fried it's not worth having so that means no grilled fish and no burgers. They make their own chips and potato cakes. Yum!
