With so many brunch spots now, menus are all very similar with all the usual suspects aka smashed avo, chilli scramble, a vegan bowl... but Alfa has really impressed me. I had initially come for the pancakes but after smelling the mushroom medley served to the table next to us I was quickly swayed. The chilli scramble was different. Good different. The tomatoes give it a sweetness and the flavours and seasoning make it all work. A little wet for my liking but flavours were perfect. The hash browns were absolutely amazing. So tasty and I love how they are like a traditional hash brown, not the shredded potato patty type. The mushroom medley was so tasty, I can’t pick the flavours but perfect amount of cheese and the potatoes were so soo good. Will definitely be back!
Been coming to Alfa Yarraville for years but have recently changed to the Seddon location due to accessibility. Had the King Alfa as was very hungry and slightly hungover. Fantastic and would be 5 stars but Hash Brown was on the cold side. Bread was delicious but (sounds weird) had trouble cutting through the crusts. Once again friendly staff, great atmosphere and good food. Except for the whispering waitress.
Busy place that is family-friendly. The staff are friendly and the food is decent, albeit not fancy. Easy place to get a table with walk-ins, and plenty of parking in the nearby streets.
Always go there for breakfast and the food is amazing! The staff are so wonderful and so very kind! And the chefs do an amazing job cooking and preparing the most delicious food
Great breakfast. Everything was perfect.
Eggs were slightly runny, cooked exactly how i like them. The bacon was divine, smoked and just a little crispy. I often feel like i should give up pork but bacon likes this keeps dragging me back!
Coffee was exactly how it should have been. Strong, hot, no bitterness and perfect amount of milk. Full flavour.
The service was also on point.
EDIT: Went back for a buckwheat salad. Cooked perfectly. Delicious.
Well done.
This is a go-to for mr and I when we go to Seddon. Despite the always busy, sometimes overly loud atmosphere; the food is consistent, coffee delish and service prompt. Do yourself a favour and get the pumpkin fritters, yum!
Came here on the recommendation of a friend, and I was mighty impressed. A perfect example of a local gem, where the food and the service are both lovely and charming.
My partner and I had the King Alfa and Green Brekky respectively. While I wouldn't say that the dishes were outstanding, there's no denying that the execution and flavours were spotless. Fresh and quality ingredients, with generous serving sizes to boot.
Our skinny lattes were pleasant enough; I would have preferred them to be stronger.
As mentioned earlier, service was wonderful. It's no wonder that the locals flock here for brunch, and also for the delicious-looking cakes and pastries that every other person seemed to be ordering.

Amazing food all round home made with premium ingredients... excellent value for money ... amazing burger ,, and the calamari is always fresh and grate value , brilliant deserts with a Greek influence I highly recommend this place the also have one in yarraville
Not sure why this place has under 3 rating. I’ve been here a couple of times now. Menu is good and very tasty and fresh ingredients. Chili eggs and fritters were delicious. Coffee is good and staff were attentive.

breakfast with the family today. Food was ok should be perfect if the poached eggs wasn't over cook.Coffee need to improve I had 2 coffees but the 2nd was much better of the first 1 and customer want a good coffee overtimes not sometimes, very average milkshakes not enough flavour and ice cream. The reason for a 4 is for customer service the girl that served us was really good.
Seddon Alfa is amazing. The people here are so friendly same as yarraville. My waiting time was short which is a bonus and the food was really good. Can’t beat a good fresh juice and a BLT with add ons.
This is a great place for meal and the staff are very friendly, there menu selection is very good.. I highly recommend avocado smash it is very welll presented and the taste is outstanding. So next time you're in Charles St Seddon drop by and give them a try.
I have mixed feelings about this place. It's pretty expensive. I ordered the hash brown benedict - two poached eggs, hash browns and hollandaise ($18.50). Don't get me wrong, it was delicious, but I paid extra to add a slice of toast and I STILL wasn't quite satisfied when I was done. I also had a hot chocolate which came in a tall glass (I don't usually complain about this), it was too milky. If they served less, it would make it more chocolate-y I think.
Delicious! I visited Alfa Seddon for breakfast for the first time a few weeks ago and it was delicious! The breakfast bruschetta was a beautiful combination of my favourite brekkie ingredients; avo, tomato, and bacon. Paired with a freeh house-made hash brown as a side and a cappucino it was a filling yet light brekkie. Will definitely be returning!
Been to Alfa Seddon for a couple of times already and I think it's really really good! I always order their chilli scrambled eggs on sourdough toast - generous portion, the eggs are really creamy and just the right amount of spicy :) I love the bits of cherry tomatoes and melted cheese in the eggs. I am never a fan of sourdough toast but theirs is soft and buttery, so good! Coffee is pretty good too. Will keep coming back!
This place is great, sooooooooo many options and made really well (stuff from the menu) cakes and already-made sandwiches aren't thaaaat great! But the service is great and really great atmosphere and location. A great place for a quiet chill lunch
I ate here because the menu had clearly marked vegan options, it's really lovely to read a menu and feel accommodated for. I'll eat here again because I thoroughly enjoyed the fresh and quality ingredients in my avocado on toast and my partner enjoyed the chilli eggs.
One of my favourite cafes. Used to always come here on university break. The food always comes out super fast and the staff is always really nice. There are a lot of options, including breakfast and lunch options. Plus a takeaway option case.
Alfa is a great spot for a quick sandwich and coffee catch up with a friend. I usually opt for a takeaway sandwich as it can get really busy and loud. Certainly not shy with the serving size, I'm always guaranteed a decent sized sandwich with lots of good fillings. I think what brings me back to Alfa time and time again is the price. Very reasonable! The staff can be a bit hit and miss by way of friendliness, but I'm willing to deal with that for a good sandwich!
Child friendly cafe that serves good food and great coffee. Other places around the area will struggle to accomodate toddlers and babies... Alfa has the space and friendly staff that will make parents feel welcome as diners.
Yummy breakfast and coffee! Came on my own one Saturday and loved sitting outside and people watching. Great spot! All the fresh food inside looks fab!
Just went in for a coffee and a donut.. But soon got food envy . Donut was good coffee great . And the fit out quite cool and staff really friendly and helpful
We usually would visit Seddon Deadly Sins when in Seddon but there is no way to fit a pram in there. Alfa is very pram friendly and lovely food and coffee to match. Try the pancakes they are amazing!
There isn't much that can be said about Alfa seddon but
Not my first pick to eat when out and about in Seddon - the sheer size of the cafe is a turn off. Pretty much every cafe in Seddon is small and intimate - Alfa is sprawling. Not sure why I dislike the size -perhaps it just feels so ... generic... and impersonal.
The food is good - I judge the quality of the breakfast menu by the scrambled eggs they serve and I couldn't fault them - rich and creamy mound of yellow eggs on buttery sourdough - gets a tick from me. Also - they don't serve tofu soy milk coffee - too many cafes are over heating their soy milk or serving it with a citrusy coffee blend effectively curdling it. Another tick. But the food is nothing extraordinary - just run of the mill cafe food.
We will be back but only if we can't get into elsewhere.
First time at Alfa and I was impressed. Although busy, we were able to get a table for four quickly. All day breakfast is great with an very extensive range of traditional and newer breakfast dishes! There is also a great range for lunch as well as lots of cakes, donuts and muffins! The service was really quick and great, I ordered the schnitzel burger which tastes great. Very big servings which I wasn't expecting because they were very reasonably priced. It was very filling and no one on the table could finish their meals. The atmosphere and interior decor was very nice and staff were lovely. Will be back to try the breakfast menu!
Delightful service and great ambience! Plenty of deliciousness on their menu, you can't go wrong! Coffee always on point & their wifi always works!!
Have been to Alfa Seddon a few times, i like it more than the Yarraville joint as i find the layout of the place nicer and service a wee bit more efficient. Had the chilli eggs on our last visit and they were cooked perfectly. Also got a flour-less orange cake to take away and it was sooooo good!
My one complaint is the smoothie and the ice chocolate drinks were pretty poor. The smoothie seemed to be syrup based and not fresh fruit, tasted way too artificial and sweet. And the iced chocolate consisted of what was milk, vanilla ice cream and some chocolate fudge syrup at the bottom, there was nothing chocolatey about this drink for 3/4's and then when i did taste the chocolate it wasn't very nice. Shame.
I frequent Alfa regularly and have never been disappointed. Great coffee, great service and have never been disappointed with the meals. And the BEST carrot cake anywhere.
Good, solid offering for breakfast/lunch. Eggs benedict are a standout with 'pulled pork' offering better consistency and flavour than the usual slice of ham. Friendly, efficient service, wide enough menu selection to make it interesting and fresh juices all contribute to a good overall experience.
So happy to finally have an Alfa in Seddon. The staff are all so lovely and I will never get sick of Nutella doughnuts. It's great to have somewhere to get a good fresh sandwich really quickly.
Coffee is standard. Service is great. Selection of cakes is good range. Pretty much all around good coffee shop. Had coffee and cakes this time; was good. Last time had lunch. Serve was generous; maybe way too generous ? I am not a big eater.
