Review Beau Thai Restaurant - Semaphore

Gloria Webster Richmond
We travelled 360 ks round trip to celebrate our sons birthday. Been to this restaurant many times and never been disappointed. Tonight we had the best meal ever. Service fantastic, staff are amazing. Nothing was to much trouble. Prices very reasonable. Thank you so much Beau Thia 💜🥰

Absolutely love the food here. If you want a consistent, tasty meal, I plead you go here! Been going for years and can not get enough of it. Staff are friendly and make sure you’re well taken care of.

Beautiful, tasty, well priced food and always walk away happy and full. Highly recommend going, they have been there a long time and the quality of the food shows why. Look forward to our next visit already.

Beautiful restaurant, food and friendly service. The Beau Thai restaurant is close to the semaphore beach, so a walk along the beach before or after the meal makes the outing a relaxing time.

The review is only for food, everything else is all good.
This used to be one of my favorite places, and they have this fried rice that I was once ‘addicted to’. My place is 30 mins drive to the restaurant, just to stress how great it was. Been back today after half a year, and not sure if this is just one of the bad day or is it the new standard now. All the dishes require sauces and seasoning was overly sauced and salty, fried rice is all wet and soggy, pad thai noodles appeared to be overcooked and all broken down when served. The duck and fish dish did save the day tho. Such a pity for an old gem.

Great Thai food and comfortable setting. Banquet option 2 is well worth the price. 3 starters and 3 main meals is easily enough for two people with some to take home.
Food is very authentic and I can recommend the Salt & Pepper Prawns they are fantastic .

I have been wanting to try this place for a while now and I'm so glad I did...The food was authentic, fresh and extremely tasty! The restaurant is small, making for nice and cosy experience.

We've been regulars at Beau Thai for years, but tonight they let us down.Beef satays were raw
The choo-chee sauce was watery and flavourless, served with gluggy chicken (not crispy like normal)
Pork larp just seemed full of overpowering chunks of red onion. $41 worth of takeaway has pretty much gone in the bin. I called to let them know we were disappointed. But i think we'll sadly just talk with our feet and not come back.

Beau Thai is a great little restaurant located on Semaphore road heading away from the beach. They have an extensive menu with traditional Thai dishes and some other Asian favorites. The entree soups are delicious and hearty, especially the tom kha gai. 6 of us shared 5 mains and steamed rice and there was plenty to go around. The beef hot plate, salt and pepper calamari and pad Thai were popular options. We also ordered the Penang beef which was delicious and packed full of chilli heat for those who can handle it. The service is good and portions are generous. Takeaway is also available. Book ahead to guarantee a table especially on the weekend.

Not too bad. The food was tasty and fresh and well made. The Chilli duck was particularly good. The green curry I thought was OK but nothing special. Some reveiwers here have mentioned small serving sizes - I'd agree somewhat; serving sizes were fine but every last scrap on the plate was definitely eaten. I found the staff to be perfectly friendly and in no way did we feel rushed to eat and leave. Value for money I thought was actually pretty good. I do agree the staff don't revisit the table to check how you're going - but everytime we approached them for another drink etc it was taken care of promptly. Waiting times were also quite fast.
The other thing I didn't like is they use serviettes, not napkins. I hate serviettes.
The ambience in the front take away area is nice - I liked the decor. The dining rooms though....hmmm. It felt like I was having dinner in my dear Granny's lounge room. Therefore: Takeaway = yes. Dine in = Nah...there's nicer places to dine.

Got takeaway phad thai and salt & pepper tofu tonight. Staff were nice and friendly, and the food came out in good time. Yummy food and met my expectations for a decent Thai place.

Not disappointed.. I can't understand what the bad reviewers are on about but when you go to a restaurant and its full, you know they must be doing something right. I booked a table for 2 and when we arrived, we were greeted warmly and taken to our table. And when the waiter remembers your name from a previous booking in January this year, that's amazing! 2 mins later, the waiter came back and asked if we would like to move to a quieter table in the adjoining room as there was a large group at the banquet table opposite thoroughly enjoying themselves. A very thoughtful gesture. Even though they were very busy The drinks and food came in a timely manner. We had Spring rolls, Pineapple fried rice with chicken and the Special beef hot plate. Awesome!

Went to this restaurant on the11.5.13. Appalling service from the start. We felt like we were rushed into ordering. We got asked while ordering what we wanted to drink, and that was it...for the rest of the night until they came to pick up our plates and ask 'are you done'? No offer of a 2nd drink or even dessert/coffee. Thank god we ordered a jug of water. Everything we ordered was over cooked, and very expensive. We should have got fish and chips from up the road. My boyfriend went home with a sore jaw from the excessive chewing from the deep fried & battered chicken mess he was served. Really disappointing.

Frequent diner. Been here too many times to count.

Was easily the Best Thai in Western suburbs with real Thai/Lao chefs.
But..... getting way too pricy. Prices have gone up way past the value mark and we now go further out to get a fix [like Yum Yai on henley beach road].

Best dish IMHO Pla Muk Yang [BBq squid] and Larb Gai [spicy minced warm chicken salad] and Pla Sarm Rot [fish three taste]

Over all very rarely disappointed. Although the meaning of spicy seams to have various interpretations form very fiery to mild so explain to waitresses explicitly what you want. Or just tell them "real Thai style"

3 of us went there for dinner tonight and all really enjoyed our meals. My satay chicken entree had very nice quality chicken but the satay sauce was not the best I've had. Having said that, I would order it again. My chicken, glass noodle and salad main was scrumptious. Service was quick and friendly. Prices for entrees were standard, but the mains were a few dollars dearer than other Thai restaurants. My other half enjoyed her Padan chicken entree and basil squid main. Our friend enjoyed his entree crispy prawns and green chicken curry. We all agreed we would like to go back to Beau Thai. It is in the Entertainment Book, which takes the edge off the highish prices.

Food is not bad, however experience overall is disappointing. Service is terrible-very very slow to take orders & 2 of the waitresses were particularly rude & impatient. I have been to this restaurant many times over the years & it continues to be worse every time I go. The service is a big problem & ruins the experience. I'm not bothering to go back anymore.

Yum! Thai cooks working in the kitchen means you get real Thai food here, unlike a lot of the other so called Thai restaurants with food prepared by Malaysians, Chinese, etc which end up being a let down. I consider the price fair considering the dining environment, the friendly Thai service and the authentic, yummy Thai food prepared by actual Thai cooks. This review comes from someone who lived in Thailand for 8.5 years and is married to a Thai.

Haven't been for a while but always love my order of the curry seafood cooked in foil. Perfect every time!

Dissapointing. Food was okay, but value for money wise the servings were ridiculously overpriced and small compared to other Thai resturaunts around Adelaide. The staff were rude and not even willing to respect our opinions when we enquiried about this.

Seriously bad. I have been to Thailand numerous times now (approx a year spent there) and I know what Thai food tastes like..... The sugary gloopy sauce with prawns in that was served to me was not thai food. the starters we had were cr4p and the mains as bad... the best part was the wine I took there and Ieaving! Add to that bad decor and below par service which results in a bad experience.... Best avoided

My favourite Larb. I really enjoy the Larb here, although i admit to only stopping by for take away when i'm in the area.
I ate in once recently and wouldn't return for the experience, although it wasn't terrible it was bland.

Surcharges. Went there on the 16/2/10, for the second time. Food wasn't as good, plus they over charged us drinks that we didn't order. Not one drink but 5 drinks, the staff argued and the manager refused to come out, and speak to us. Also then they charged us at surcharge of $3.50 for using a credit card.
Rude

I love restaurant names that have a play on words and for this reason I’ve always wanted to come here. Beau Thai is located on the busy Semaphore Road cafe precinct.
