Review Viva Zapata Mexican Cantina - Semaphore

I have been lucky enough to have dined at this funky Mexican restaurant a few times now and the food had been nothing short of delicious. Very authentic and tasty meals with everyone at the table leaving very satisfied and full. Great range of foods with gluten-free options. Also a great range of drinks to accompany the meals. Entrè, mains, dessert are all catered for on the menu. The restaurant has the added bonus of providing a great Mexican feel on the inside, with a lot of effort being put into the decor but the real treat is sitting outside overlooking the Semaphore beach/Jetty below. Perfect at sunset!! The ribs I had last visit more the best I've b had!! I will be back for sure!! P.s very friendly service!

THE BEST nachos and margaritas in Adelaide by far. The prices are really reasonable for all drinks and the servings of food are all huge. Fresh, tasty, delicious. Lots of options for my vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free friends too! Everyone loved it!

First time I have been lived in the area 10 plus years, was a fantastic restaurant experience. Great food,great service.

Love my Mexican food. These guys do an amazing Nachos, I am hard pressed thinking of a place that does it better. I have had better enchiladas but these were still great! No complaints. Staff have always been easy and wonderful too.

Always a lovely view, we had several issues trying to ring to make a booking, turned out they were having phone issues, staff were engaging and friendly, food was good, kids meals were nice and hot, the nachos supreme my wife and I shared whilst tasty was starting to go cold even though we were warned the plate was hot, it wasn't. We have been a number of times and that is the first time that has happened to us so that was a little disappointing. Hoping the next experience will be better.

This was our first visit as we had heard the food was sensational. We took along an English Gentleman visiting with us from the UK. On arrival, after having booked earlier in the afternoon, found there was no booking in our name. Not a good start!!! We were then shown to a table on the outside looking out at the sea with beautiful views. After a short wait, the main course order and drinks were taken and the food delivered rather promptly. The food and its presentation was wonderful however, the service was a disgrace from then on. We didn't receive our dessert menu after requesting one and after waiting nearly half an hour with nobody even coming near us, decided to leave in disgust, we didn't even get asked if we would like another drink. It appears the young waiting staff are only interested in the young people that come in as they were certainly looked after. Another couple sitting down from us had been there over half an hour before they even got to look at a menu. We had eaten and they still hadn't had there orders taken or drinks for that matter. They were also leaving. We won't be visiting again and we were so embarrassed having taken our English visitor there and what is more when the staff were informed of the service and lack thereof, they didn't bat an eyelid. Customer service - gone missing.

I was very impressed with this restaurant, there were 30 in our party there on Saturday and they managed to serve everyone their main course within minutes of each other. The staff were friendly and we enjoyed the night. Servings were quite generous too. If you like Mexican food, then this is a great place to dine at. I would recommend this to my friends and family for a nice night out near the beach.
