Following the chef originally from Lipson Street in Port Adelaide, to then to the display centre near Harts Mill, she eventually settled at her daughter's cafe at the Corner Store on Semaphore. Locals are many-time repeat customers due to home style cooking with flavours other cafe's are simply not skilled enough to replicate. Meal size and ingredient quality is outstanding. Whilst you wait, check out the local and international products including cheese and chocolate; it feels like a real local corner store. Join the Semaphore Road efforts to rediscover a local community feel, and contribute to more sustainable food system.
Amazing banana French toast with bacon ice cream!!!! Coffee is fantastic and the service was outstanding! Will now be my regular xx
Delightful. We went in for coffee and cake one Sunday afternoon.
Nice staff, quirky interior, pretty good coffee and very delicious cakes. Their Monte Carlo biscuits are especially tasty
Must go back and try their breakfast or lunch menu. A real pleasure in Semaphore Road
My partner and I have been here on two occasions and we loved the food and coffee. That make yummy bacon and sausages and their scrambled eggs are fluffy and adorable. A nice relaxed hipster-like cafe environment. The two women who work there are friendly.
Pretty unassuming from the outside but a gem inside. Lots of interesting things to look at. We had pain perdu abd 2 coffees. Pain perdu was soda bread with maple syrup and banana.we got one with the bacon ice cream which was good too. Hope to return to sample other things on the menu
We will definitely go back for the yummy breckie crumpets! The coffee was good, the service friendly and plenty of room for our big dog. A great start to our holiday monday!
Vanilla Slice!. They have the most amazing vanilla slices!!! But unfortunately only on fridays. The coffee is mostly good, just a bit inconsistent sometimes, apart from that, super cute corner store!
Fab!. Love this place, excellent breakfast....
The store and staff has the right balance of quirk to make this place feel like you're eating breakfast with friends.
The only place we now eat breakfast in semaphore, and we are locals.
What a gem!. Walked past Semaphore road in search for lunch with my husband. The interior of this cafe really grabbed my attention. So, we went in and checked out the menu. The waitress told us that they served breakfast all day. That's even better! The beauty of this cafe slowly unveiled in front of us. There are lots of interesting things on the ceiling, along the walls, on the tables ... The menu, the food and the atmosphere were the best cafe we have ever been in Adelaide. The price is very very so reasonable. Definitely will highly recommend this to my French friends. Back to the food, it was fresh, nice, great quality produce except the sourdough bread is a bit too hard for us. Never tried duck and veal sausage. Never even heard of it. It's in the House Breakfast if you are willing to pay $5 more. My husband said he could taste duck in it. What a gourmet breakfast!
A Melbourne, Brunswick Rd, style providore cafe, in Semaphore. The Corner Store is a very unique, fascinating, place, with an eclectic mix of French meets early Australian. This place is full of character with a varied assortment of features, from a brilliant Orange coffee machine, that matches the feature wall, a bike on the fridge, assortment of wooden crates, white muslin hung from the ceiling, to assorted table and chairs. On one side of the counter a chilled cabinet, with a range of tempting cheeses, and meats. On the other side of the counter a great array of lovingly prepared, cakes, biscuits, fresh salads. pies and tarts. The menu is interesting and varied, we chose from the breakfast menu, simple breakfast; black Pig bacon-eggs on sourdough, very tasty and satisfying. From the lunch menu "Plat du Jour", as the menu read, "so you don't like Lentil Pie, try ours and start a love affair." TRUE!. We finished with two latte coffee's in a large bowl, smooth, good crema, with fresh selected milk, with a very pleasant lingering after taste, Cirelli coffee, pm blend, this is from a local roast, really fresh. Up there with the best. This providore- Cafe ticks all the boxes, ask any local. This long time family owned business, where experience shows, will bring us back.
Fantastic coffee.
Best place on Semaphore road for lunch and breaky and I've been to them all. Don't expect a big restaurant set up, it's only a small place. if it's busy expect to wait a little bit and don't be unreasonable. Relax and enjoy. Having said this the food is always good and i have always been served with smiling faces within reasonable time. Always use the best quality produce. Not just a place to eat, it's also a profit, providore. Love the salami, just say'n.
Worth a trip to Semaphore.... Went here with my family last week for lunch and the atmoshpere of this place is amazing - I love that it is a part gourmet food shop. Everything is local, organic and well priced. The breakfast menu includes things such as homemade crumpets, croque monsieur, local granola and a blue cheese and pear melt.
For lunch my sister and our friend had tapanede crusted salmon (perfectly cooked), my dad had lamb moussaka, my mum tried the croque madame, and I had their spanakopita (a huge slice I might just add... with what I think was haloumi in the filling?) each serve came with salads, not just lettuce... but a carrot and cumin salad, pesto and potato salad, risoni salad and an unusual beetroot and orange salad (which none of us liked unfortunatley as it was overpowered with orange blossom water)
they have a pretty cake selection (homemade monte carlo's, beetroot and carrot cake, pistachio paste cupcakes) ... just can''t wait to hit the beach again to come back here!... we need this in the city!
Really interesting burger, good service, nice atmosphere on a dreary day.
Very good breakfast and coffee
