Best fish and chips I've had. Lots of places claim to have the best fish and chips, but this is one place that could actually truthfully say that. On a hot day, people will wait for up to 40 minutes to get their order. That's how good they are. These chips are not of the frozen variety, but are home made/hand cut. But this is also where I should warn you - there can be some inconsistency with their quality. I imagine this is partly due to potatoes being different according to the time of the year but it's worth the risk. When they are 'bad', they are average, but when they are good. MY GOD. I have had chips here that are orgasmic. Imagine mashed potato but enveloped in a crisp and crunchy potato shell. That's what this place is like on a HOT day!
Great chips, getting hard to find good fresh chips. If you don't like the frozen ones then this is the place to go. Fish is always fresh and tasty and never had something that was toonoily!!
Had a great Good Friday at Semaphore enjoying the best fish and chips in Adelaide. Sotos, you never fail to provide the best quality of fish and chips. No matter how busy you are, your staff are alway's friendly and provide great service! Even our little dachshund Summer enjoyed a few chips! Highly recommended Sotos! ππ
Fantastic fish & chips. Tastiest flake ever. Perfectly battered and fried. No excess oil. Chips were scrumptious, again perfectly fried and well drained. Courteous and prompt service. Thank you Sotos for making our Sunday lunch a most enjoyable one. Highest Recommendation.
We bought butterfingers with chips from there. The chips aren't the frozen ones they are real potatoes chips. Love them. Would go back again.
This shop can get a bit busy depending on the day and time , but it is an awesome shop thr food is some of the best especially the Chips being hand cut and fresh is something that is hard to find these days, the Fish is lovely and a nice variety of Fish to choose and other items. Definitely the best Fish and Chips in South Australia I've had. I especially love the British Pack , mushy peas , cod and curry sauce. It reminds me of home ( England ) π¬π§ Great work
Lonely Planet rates a place on North Isle of NZ as best fish & chips in the world.. they clearly have not been to Sotos.. I have been to both & believe me Sotos fish & chips are way better.. whilst I have not been to every fish & chip shop in the world.. I am sure Lonely Planet hasn't either.... Sotos fish & chips have always been the best, still are...worth a trip across town (as we do) 4 a treat.. u will not be disappointed.. as a real treat have the locally caught shark.. simply amazing flavour in the lightest, crispiest batter.. nothing better & the side serve of chips is equally amazing.. simply the best I have ever had... we are very lucky in Adelaide.
