11/10 - This restaurant is so underrated it hurts. Delicious and refined dishes, thoughtful, knowledgeable and unpretentious service, generous portions, pleasant sophisticated atmosphere, reasonably priced, superb winelist. We will definitely be back to try more of the menu!

Very reasonably priced quality fare that was served very well by competent front of house staff. Quite a limited fixed price menu but all the dishes we shared were well presented and very tasty. Sharing of the quite generous servings was done in the kitchen once we let our waiter know that this was our intention, so it made this a very pleasant experience. A great extra service. The wine list was vast, the red we chose was very good even though it was in the lowest quartile on the cost curve. The venue was quiet comfortable and elegant albeit slightly tired.

One of my favorite places! I would like to highlight the waitress named Eda, who is very attentive, professional and friendly. If all restaurants had customer service like hers, it would be perfect! I went to the restaurant on Wednesday the 20th to celebrate my birthday with my husband and everything was wonderful! We really wanted to eat the gnocchi pesto and we went there thinking about it, but it was already sold out when we got there, well we'll have to go back soon then. Overall, amazing food and excellent cocktail and wines! Thanks to the whole team!

It is rare to go to a restaurant several times over a few years and get an amazingly good experience. It is even more rare that I can describe a night out at a restaurant as perfect. Tonight was one such night. Special thanks to Fernando for his excellent service and the kitchen staff for making the most delicious 4 course meal. 6 stars. Will be back.

Having dined here several times I am compelled to say that Galileo Buona Cucina provides the finest dining experience possible. The service is elegant, attentive and experienced. As for the food there is delicious and there is the standard of this restaurant. The bread is fresh, and the roast potatoes are astonishingly good. The mains; the flavour selection, the seasoning, the portion sizing all faultless for the duck, beef and lamb. Extensive and thoughtful wine list. Try this place and be delighted.

Recommended by a friend and it was excellent! Staff were really friendly from when you first walk in. The food smelled amazing as you walk through the door. The waitress was really patient at explaining the menu to us and how the ordering worked (2 course for $60 and $70 for 3 courses). She told us we could decide later on if we wanted dessert so we didn't feel pressured to decide there and then. Bread was delicious. Nice and warm and plenty to share. We had the pasta tubes with fish and veal meatballs for entrees. Meatballs were tender, pasta was really tasty. Mains were fish and lamb with sides of carrots and potatoes. The fish was really fresh and not overcooked. The lamb was so tender you didn't need a knife. Reminded you of a hearty home cooked meal. Carrots were cooked just right so they weren't soft but still crunchy. Dessert was tiramisu which was devine! Just the best was to top it off! Throughout the night staff came around to make sure we were alright and they were all just lovely. Fernando who I think was the restaurant manager came by to have a chat as well. You could feel the genuine love he has for the restaurant, food and customers. We have him some feedback and he acted on it immediately. Overall, a hidden gem that's just great hearty soul cooked food with a relaxed atmosphere. Great date night spot.

We fall in love of this place, from the service , the decoration to the menu! We came to this restaurant for our 4 years anniversary and didn't reserved, but they find us a table in 2min. The service was excellent and the waiter really nice friendly and extremely professional! I am allergic to carrot so they made me a new ragout without the carrots, its the first time i am going to a restaurant and agree to change it for me. The food its delicious and the plate are correctly full. we really enjoyed and they made our night memorable. The quality of the service and food are for sure matching the price you pay. Definitely recommend this restaurant .

Food was good. But it took an hour to take our order and 90 minutes before first course served. Strange - there was no shortage of staff. By the time mains were served we were tired and had lost our appetites.

I’ve been there a few times over the years and I always walk away with a satisfied smile, warm heart and a full belly. The food is always good, service is top notch (Italians are certainly known for their hospitality) and the knowledge of the sommelier - always spot on :) A wonderful place tucked away in suburbia..definable come here to have your heart and belly full :)

Galileo has remained one of my favourite restaurants in Perth for several years now. Food and service have always been impeccable. A post ‘virus-shut-down’ visit for dinner found a once extensive menu sadly (but understandably) reduced down to a single page of entrees, mains and desserts. The option was to choose either 2 or 3 courses and we opted for the 3. Entrees we ordered included conchiglioni pasta shells (good), funghi trifolati (ok) and pansotti pasta with walnut sauce (a touch bland, perhaps just lacking salt). For main course we moved onto the slow baked lamb (the main reason I would love to dine here as it has always been sensational, this time round it was still good but not the same level it has been in the past), and the beef cheeks (good). Mains were served with a small side salad and roasted potatoes. Finished with the profiteroles (nice) and the semifreddo (very nice). Service was polite but a bit distracted on this particular night - in the past it has been nothing short of excellent. When I dine out I'm paying for the experience, not just the food and Galileo's has consistently given me an excellent one each time I have been here. Given time I’m sure things will get back to normal with this great restaurant.

Absolutely sensational. My wife and I have dined at Galileo's for many years now and I can honestly say hand on heart, Vince is without a doubt the best Italian chef we have ever come across.Truly world class in skills and presentation. In all the years we have never had just an "ok" meal served by him. Each time we dine there the service and quality is always a 5 star experience. We were there for dinner on Sat 24th and were surprised to see a few change's in the menu. WOW, what a meal, what a night. The entrees, mains & deserts were truly outstanding ,and it goes without saying an absolute credit to his culinary skills. Aldo's choice of the perfect Italian red to accompany my veal could not have been better and he never fails.<br/>We really look forward to booking another night very soon. Again, thanks Vince and staff for yet another "Michelin" experience.<br/>Tony & Nathalie.

Dined with my hubby on Saturday night. Beatiful restaurant. Classic Atmosphere. Great great great cuisines. Friendly and polite staffs. Reasonable price. I heard this restaurant is good but much beyond my expectations! We ordered Bruchetta (starter), Marinated fish (entree), Dried beef (entree), Prawn Pasta (entree) and Wood fired lamb (Main). Tiramisu for dessert, too. All dishes were supre amazing. Especially, my favorites were Bruchetta, Prawn Pasta and Tiramisu!!! We were also surprised their good price, our total amount was only $158.40 (dishes + 4 glasses of wines). We would love to be back again and can't wait for trying other menus! Definitely this is one of the BEST Italian restaurants in Perth.

We have heard great things about this place so we were excited to go. My partner and I shared the eggplant warm entree ( very nice , traditional italian) and the walnut and collard greens pasta dish ( tasty ). For mains we had the Chicken and the slow cooked lamb. both proteins were cooked to perfection.<br/><br/>The only thing i would say is that service time and delivery of food was very slow. we waited a good 30-40 mins between entree and main. Even around 20/30 mins for entree. and the only other thing i found was that all the dishes would've been perfect if they were less salty, it is all very heavily OVER seasoned with salt- my tastebuds nearly fell off ;) . However , it is all made with love and fresh ingredients. coffees and hot chocolates were not good ( far too sweet and over heated milk....). Desserts were nice :).

Went here last night for my birthday meal. I was worried it would be quiet with it being a Tuesday evening, but I was pleased to see it was full as they had closed off another room, presumably this gets opened up during the busier times of the week. We ordered the entree size gnocchi and pork rigatoni special- the rigatoni was out of this world. Gnocchi was a little too salty, but this was my only complaint of the whole night. Next we had the beef fillet special, which was seriously melt in your mouth tender, and the beef ribs. The ribs were a very generous portion with plenty of delicious rich sauce and mushrooms. We also had the pea and pancetta side which complimented both dishes well. I honestly don’t have anything bad to say about the mains! Desert was the Bonet, which was light and not too sweet. A perfect end to an almost perfect meal. The wine list is extensive, and they offer half bottles too which is fantastic. Service was polite and attentive. Prices are what you expect for the quality of food, but not stupid. You can eat far less quality food for far more money in Perth. Can’t wait to come back to this place!

Galileo is so very, very good. The food is absolute perfection and takes delicious to a whole new level. The restaurant exudes confidence, quality and finesse. I love how the vegetables and side dishes are not an afterthought, but a special menu feature. The gluten-free bread was divine! The atmosphere and service brings authenticity and a special vibe, yet the prices are very reasonable. Dining out does not get better than this. Sensational in every way.

absolutely amazing experience. food was just melt in the mouth.. best meal i have had by far in perth.. and possibly overall (that being said as someone well travelled). had some bread to start, perfect. my main was the fish which was just cooked to perfection. my partner got the lamb and said it was also the best he had ever had. Overall menu was accommodating to my pickiness (I requested vegetables instead of the mash potato) and service was very pleasant. wine menu is just a whole new level to be an experience on its own. I also got a port dessert wine, it was perfect to finish off the evening. ambience was great.. busy but not overwhleming, quitened down after a while which was nice. cant say any more praise. definitely recommend 100% for quality, affordability and for customer service, that was awesome to say the least! thank you for one of the best meals and nights I have ever been able to share with friends.

Having been to this high quality restaurant many times over the years, and never finding any faults in the food or service, I thought it was time to tell fellow future customers just how good this restaurant is. Yesterday we went their for a special occasion and started of with fresh bread with olive oil, croquettes and whiting, we then had wood fired oven baked snapper with a side garden salad, all was simply superb and full of flavour. We ended the meal with a piece of home made fruit and nut dark chocolate. The staff are warm and friendly and with a sound knowledge of their product and their craft. This latest visit only confirmed what I already knew and that is, "this is the best Italian restaurant in Perth by a mile"
David
The special fish of the day was one of the best fish I've ever tasted. It was mixed in with all the right elements and It was spaced perfectly. The beef cheeks were also quite good. The pork was a bit tough but if I had had the whole thing all together it would be rated high on my behalf. The pasta was as great as the fish. It had the exact balance of flavour and they got it precise. I think this would be one of the best restaurants I've ever been too. The decor was nice and heart warming, it had a peaceful atmosphere and everyone around seemed to be enjoying themselves.

Excellent attentive service without being imposing. Great good at reasonable prices. Good wines and also well priced by glass. These guys clearly know how to make a restaurant hum, even midweek with close to fine dining at affordable price with friendly attentive service. No wonder they stay busy. The lamb Tiella Di Angelo as a main was slow wood fired and just fell apart in the mouth. I also had the Funghi entree which was filling and yummy. Book in advance it's popular.

Favourite restaurant in Perth! Been there many times over the past 5 years with only 1 or 2 less than optimum experiences. Service very professional and friendly, and always accomodating if you want to share a dish. Setting nice, but can sometimes be a bit noisy in the main section. Food always to a very high standard and reasonably priced, especially desserts. Glad to say they have brought back their full-sized bruschetta entree, which was minaturised for a time (much to my dismay). Also give a little plate of sweets upon asking for the bill which is a nice touch. Must book ahead, very popular. Hope Galileo retains their high standards for many years to come!!
Sandhya1814
I had the bruschetta and a mushroom dish for starter. I thought it was amazing but my partner felt the bruschetta was salty. For mains i had the hand cut pasta with anchovy and it was so salty!! God!! It was terrible. A huge disappointment especially when it was suppose to be a special night: my partner had been away for two months and we wanted to have a date night today after being away for quite a long time. <br/>Customer service on serving drinks was good. <br/>

Magnifico!<br/>The best Italian restaurant in Perth continues to live up to its reputation. My family and I have been regular patrons from day one. While it is no longer a cheap midweek night out; the ambience, service and cuisine justifies the cost. First class in every way.<br/>You need to book well in advance, not surprisingly!<br/>For my meal I started with pesto gnocchi, lightly pan fried with pine nut garnish, melted in the mouth. The main course wood fired slow cooked lamb with sides of rosemary roast potatoes, heirloom carrots and cauliflower with red peppers and black olives was magnificent in flavor and size. How I managed the semi freddo al torrone for dessert says more about my eyes than the size of my stomach! The nougat ice cream treat is one of the best I've eaten...right up there with Melbourne's Lupino.

** My first 5 star rating **<br/><br/>Booked a dinner here purely based off the reviews giving this place a 4.6/5 rating and it lived up to its reputation. Very nice layout inside and friendly staff.<br/><br/>Had a margarita (cocktail) to start and it has to be the best tasting I've had in Perth to date.<br/><br/>Entree, a oven baked bruschetta which is not the normal way people would expect them to be served BUT its worth giving it a go, the flavours are great! Also had the lamb meatballs (5) as part of the entree which were too full of flavour and definitely had the taste of parmesan coming through. <br/><br/>Fish of the day, Grilled snapper which was cooked to perfection, the skin was so crispy and packed full of flavour. <br/><br/>Couldnt find anything to fault
Truth Be Told Australia
Highly recommend this restaurant. Great authentic atmosphere and fabulous service. We started with fish croquettes with a garlic sauce , cooked well and generous size. The other entree was baked eggplant with ricotta and prosciutto pudding (the most amazing flavours, and had to stop myself from licking the plate ) .For our mains we had the pesto gnocchi, this was cooked to perfection and again the flavours just worked so well together. Mr M also enjoyed his main which was quail with a lentil salad, his first time for quail and fell in love with it. We would definitely return to try again and found the prices great value . We deducted half a point off , as we had to wait a little before we were served a drink or given a menu, and again no Sauvignon Blanc by the glass on the wine menu. Besides that the service was spot on .

Amazing experience, food was divine and love the sophisticated feel! Restaurant was full so service was a little slow, but I believe it is always very popular so maybe they could put a couple more staff on.

We stumbled in here just after 8pm on Friday night. The place was packed and we had no booking. The waitress was lovely and had us a table within 10min. I mentioned I had coeliacs and they were very accomodating. The bread was complimentary and the plate we received was not gluten free. The head waiter realised this before the dish was put down and offered to exchange it for gluten free. The fish was delicious and hot as were the veggies and everything else. Service was lovely. It was fuss free with my coeliacs and menu changes and for this I give it my extra points. Lovely. Would def recommend.

Lovely dinner to celebrate dad's birthday. Service was prompt and polite, and the food was tasty and unique. Think I had one of the tender beef ribs I've ever tasted! We were sharing the parfait between three, and they kindly served it portioned on separate plates - not something I see very often!

I couldn't fault it. We booked 1/2 an hour before we arrived on a Friday night and were seated straight away. The service was amazing, your wait staff are friendly, knowledgeable and trained very well. The wine was superb, the food was to die for. I had the Gold band snapper, my boyfriend had the veal back strap. Both were cooked to perfection. We requested things that were not on the menu and they were provided to us without any fuss. The tirimasu was delicious too. We will be back! Grazie.

On Friday evening, we are thinking of treating ourselves to a nice “fancy” Italian meal. We booked 3 weeks in advance for Galileo in Shenton Park. <br/><br/>We read the review from years ago a reputable newspaper reviewer said it was the Best Italian in P town. Hence, we decided that’s the spot where we wanted to try. We reckon his taste buds would be the right one to follow. <br/><br/>We were let down. <br/><br/>The entrées was amazing, we ordered the Bersaola it’s the Air dry Wagyu beef served with porcini, truffle infused oil and aged Parmesan. The flavours of this particular dish was fresh and the age Parmesan gave it a depth in this dish. The next entree we ordered was the eggplant and prosciutto pudding with baked eggplant and ricotta rolls. It was good. It tasted like a nice home cooked meal. <br/><br/>When it came to the mains, it didn’t even hit the spot. Hand cut square thick spaghetti with anchovies, prawns, pinenuts, sultanas and san marzano tomatoes. This dish, it also came with some dried bread crumbs on top of the pasta it made it taste horrible. The breadcrumbs on top was old and dry. I had the fish of the day, it was average. <br/><br/>The worst was the dessert, we ordered the profiteroles it was dry and hard like a rock! <br/><br/>We were disappointed with the restaurant. I wouldn’t be returning to it anytime soon.
Pig Chunks
This place was average my starter was nice. I got the meatballs. For main i got the gnocchi. They were pretty overcooked. I wanted to like this place more than i did but i honestly dont plan on returning any time soon. Service was good.

We came to Galileo for dinner tonight and it was terrific. We had Stefano as our waiter and he was extremely courteous and couldn't do enough for us (he found me a place where I could buy the wonderful dessert wine they serve). Because of the wait time for our food he compensated with some delicious entree dishes and a round of free drinks. We really didn't expect it, however it was a lovely gesture and made our experience all the more personalised and warm. They serve the most beautiful, authentic rustic Italian cuisine. Being there reminded me of being immersed in the traditional Italian food culture that is so hard to replicate in a Western setting! It was amazing!

At the beginning of this month (pinch and a punch for the first day of the month) I went out with 4 of my girlfriends for a lovely dinner at Galileo. We had been long overdue for a catch up and I was super excited for the night – I missed those girls dearly. The restaurant was beautiful -the décor was very rustic and elegant. Galileo is only open from Tuesday to Saturdays and making a booking is a must! A friend and I had tried to come here once on a weeknight without a reservation and it was fully booked. So we did not make the same mistake again this time round.

Dined at galileos twice now recently for a graduation dinner. Food is amazing!!! Staff are very attentive always checking up on you (not in an annoying way) filling up your glasses etc etc. Eaten plenty of italian food in restraunts, but this is by far the best in perth! Highly recommend the woodfired lamb as it just falls off the bone and is just melts in your mouth.

Galileo is one of my most favourite restaurants in Perth. <br/>The service is fantastic, wonderful wine selection with people who know their wines. The food is so delicious, coming out as a good size meal wonderfully well priced for what your getting and a lovely traditional setting perfect for any occasion be it family, friends or romantic.<br/>👌🏼
Shaun
I really enjoyed my experience at Galileo. There is a heap of different dishes to select under the various starter and entrée categories, along with mains and dessert. The menu items are not what you would typically see on a stock standard Italian menu, in keeping with preparing traditional authentic Italian cuisine. We started off with fish croquettes which carried a lovely flavour of the fish and sea and were delicious. I had rigatoni in a spicy sausage and broccoli sauce which was full of flavour. I had tastes of the veal meatballs which were super soft and melt in your mouth, and the duck in a marsala sauce which was evident in flavour. For mains I chose the lamb backstrap which cut like butter and was absolutely delicious. I loved the jus and wanted more of it and the Parmesan crunchy bits which carried a slight salty explosion were excellent. I had tastes of the goldband snapper which had a moist tender flesh with a light citrus flavour and delicious mashed potato, and the chargrilled veal chop certainly carried a lovely char flavour though the chop needed a little more cooking. For dessert I had tastes of the amazing tiramisu and also the cassata which was really yum. I ordered the Piedmont white chocolate custard as something different and I was pleasantly surprised. A little like a crème caramel, the white chocolate adds a nice touch of richness and sweetness to the smooth custard. I really liked the chocolate ice cream, the crunch from the chocolate crumbs and the hazelnut biscuit. Wonderful setting, excellent service, delicious Italian cuisine, I left comfortably full and satisfied.

We always go here as it is close by, and when I go, I order either the chicken and quail with a side of potatoes. The chicken is so moist and juicy, along with the quail. The roast potatoes are always crispy and golden. My family members normally order the pasta and they say it is soft and well cooked. The service here is lovely and we were always greeted with a smile.
More Than Nourishment
I was surprised that we could get a booking for a group of 12 at late notice so that was a good start. I was however disappointed about how long we needed to wait for our meals. We got our mains about 2.5 hours from when we arrived with an entree in between. The fish croquettes were okay, a bit on the dry side. My spicy sausage pasta was way too salty that I had trouble finishing it even though I was starving by this point. Others with me had the same comments. The lemon tart special with lemon sorbet was nice, with a really crispy base and a strong lemon filling. Overall I was disappointed with the food on this menu compared to previous visits to Galileo.

Been awhile since I could say holy god.... This place is awesome, classic Italian from service food wine fit out. If you like Italian food then this is the place I will return every time in Perth... Classic food, everything was fresh, took me back to my time in Rome and traveling Italy. Great service and good wine selection.. Great for a dinner to impress that somebody or just wanting fine food l... Awesome job <br/>

This place is just off the bat amazing authentic Italian food. You won't find a better place than this. <br/><br/>Firstly you'll want to wear some baggy pants because you will be so full and if you wear normal tight ones, you'll more then likely burst! <br/><br/>All the food here is well cooked, has so much flavour and is cooked with love. They don't just try to pump out dishes have arsed, they take their time but you're not waiting forever for the food to come.<br/><br/>All the staff are so professional and friendly. Always topping up your glasses of water or wine and always folding up your napkins when you leave the table.<br/><br/>I highly recommend this beautiful restaurant. It's perfect for a nice romantic dinner with your loved one or a catch up meal with family and friends.<br/><br/>Also, the dessert is bloody amazing. The cannoli is made fresh and it taste even better then the ones you buy from patisseries .

OMG!!!! The food, the service, the wine, the waitstaff, the atmosphere was all superb!!!! Absolutely faultless!!! Went here with hubby for my birthday and anniversary on the 19th March and was treated so well. I got the slow cooked wood fire lamb. Wow!!! Just melting in mouth. Hubby hot the wood fire roast chicken Maryland with home made pate and that was so succulent it fell off the bone. But it was the special touches which impressed us. We got help from the somalier with our wine choice, on our dessert plates the chef printed happy birthday and happy anniversary in chocolate and even put a little candle on for me. We even had the door opened for us when we left with a mintie and a warm goodbye. Unforgettable!!!!!

Great little " Italy" - Nice atmosphere, Classical authentic Italian food with warm Italian hospitality. Certainly need to book in advance. Enjoyable place to dine!
Alex
Great tasting authentic food - full of flavour. Have found it to consistently have superb service even when packed out. Homely vibe. Wine list contains some excellent 'hard to get hold of' wines. Would definitely recommend a visit.

This is the best Italian restaurant I've been. The decor is very nice. The staffs are very attentive and well-trained. The food is incredibly amazing and well presented. Definitely going back again
The Urban Bento
We rarely go to any restaurant more than once but Galileo is one of the few places we'd go back again and again! It seems everyone thinks the same as the restaurant is full every night it's open and weekends are booked weeks in advance. The food is spectacular and the service exceptional. Highlights are the meatballs, beef spare ribs, lamb rack, duck and the profiteroles... okay okay everything we've had is fantastic!

As a first time customer I wad impressed with the service and the atmosphere but for me it's all about the food and this place didn't disappoint me and my partner ordered 2 specials the rotisserie duck and rotisserie lamb which were accompanied with mash potato and we ordered a side of peas with pancetta and sun dried tomato both absolute winners and cooked to perfection then we ordered custard filled profiteroles with chocolate sauce and a flourless chocolate cake with vanilla bean ice cream for dessert which finished the night off beautifully I take my hat off to the chef's very impressed highly recommend this place.

Wow! What an amazing Italian Restaurant! <br/>My husband and I invited two of our friends to meet us here for dinner and we all thoroughly enjoyed the food and had a lovely time.<br/><br/>We had an entree, main and ended up having a little bit of room for dessert. All courses were delicious and presented beautifully. Absolutely no complaints BUT for those who like "large" meals, I wouldn't say the serving sizes are large but suitable for myself. <br/><br/>The services was professional and well presented. The entree came in a good time frame but unfortunately it appeared our mains were forgotten. After a quick reminder the staff well and truly made up for it with their apologies and ensuring we were well cared for. Desert followed soon after our mains. They staff really made up for the error "bravo". <br/><br/>Costs were reasonably priced especially for the quality and delicious flavours. Compliments to the chef. <br/><br/>I will certainly be back.<br/><br/>
Comment Mike
Nice place to eat. Food is reliable I am sure but didn't find it spectacular as we expected. The service was a bit on the rushed and snob side of things but all in all if your into that kinda thing then good for you. We found it a bit pretentious but an enjoyable evening. As for bang for buck .... you can guess, we won't be back.
Angelino
Excellent example of Italian food complete with warm Italian hospitality. <br/><br/>Wine list bristles with a fine selection to accompany the fare.
Fooodmachine
We went as a party of 6 for dinner on a Friday night. We had the mushrooms and the eggplant prosciutto parcels for entrees. We tried all the mains except for the fish, and all the desserts apart from the flourless chocolate mud cake. The food was consistently good, but not remarkable - mixed opinions around the table. We advised we would be sharing all dishes and one dish of each course was brought out divided on individual plates, a nice touch. Service was fairly attentive throughout the night, and our water was constantly topped up. They did forget one main and one dessert, however they were quick to rectify this when we brought it to the waiters attention. These two items were then given to us complimentary, without request. Overall, a good dining experience.

Sensational meal at Galileo tonight. I like a restaurant that doesn't  hype the food descriptions or fill the menu with novelty ingredients just for the sake of it. This restaurant has uncommonly professional service; no backpackers here.<br/><br/>The beef short ribs were extremely good. Charred on the outside, enhanced by a rich sauce and tender as anything on the inside. The experience of two different textures in the one bite (I'm re-living it all over again writing this).<br/><br/>My dinner companions reported all meals were sumptuous, including the lamb. <br/><br/>Also recommending the Nougat Parfait dessert. It's a nougat-flavoured ice-creamy dish. Soft, not chewy!<br/><br/>Don't be put off by the web page; this place is all class.
Cherikstony
Well it had certainly been a ride tonight! The night started off great, for entree we had the mushroom, the heirloom tomato salad and wagyu beef. The mushroom is a must have! You absolutely have to try it out, it is heavenly! The other two dishes were just alright, edible but not really special in anyway.<br/><br/>And then main dishes arrived, it was three plates full of disappointment! We had the duck and gnocchi with four cheeses sauce from the tonight's special menu as well as the slow cooked lamb. Unfortunately The duck meat was very very tough, hard to cut and hard to chew, the gnocchi was extremely average too, the taste just did not work for me. The lamb was the best tasting main dish, but it did not really stand out.....<br/><br/>The dessert dishes though, were just gorgeous! Everything tastes perfect! We loved the chocolate flourless cake!!! It is a must try!!!<br/><br/>Anyways, if you do drop by next time, make sure you get the mushroom for entree and do give their desserts a go!

For Daniel’s 21st birthday I took him to Galileo in Shenton Park, an authentic Italian restaurant that has been one of only 10 WA restaurants that are recognised by the Italian government. After hearing many great things, I made an early reservation at 6pm as we had tickets for Cirque Du Soleil’s Totem later that night.

Had never heard of Galileo before last night. Dinner with a friend and it was a fabulous experience. The wait staff friendly and attentive, and authentic! Assistance with wine selection at the right time and he got it right. Food was absolutely amazing. I had the pork rigatoni and it was scrumptious and generous servings. <br/><br/>One of the latest reviews by Andrew makes no sense. This place was Devine. And good value.

A lot of hype for this restaurant, supposedly rated one of the best Italian restaurants in Perth - not to this avid fan of Italian cuisine. <br/>The menu is limited, the wines overpriced and offering little selection in by the glass and the service is focused on favouritism and capital gain.<br/>The offering of a good night out diminished at the conclusion of the meal. <br/>Thankfully Perth still has other Italian restaurants who can fulfil all that is required for a great night out.<br/>Galileo's will not be getting my patronage anytime soon.

This is the best restaurant in perth. The service is always amazing and the food is consistently brilliant. My fiance and I always come back and order our old favourites - I order the eggplant entree dish and my fiance orders the beef shortribs, we often share the entree meatball dish - these just melt in your mouth! I love the warm flouress chocolate cake with vanilla bean ice cream. You can't go wrong here.

Galileo feels like a winter restaurant. Guilty pasta dishes with beautiful sauces - my rigatoni, long and slender, bronze cut, came with njuda and tiny stems of aniseed flavoured basil. The bread crusty and solid, well salted. The meat mains are all sub $40, the theme seems to be - slow cooking, melt in the mouth, comfort food for the toothless. On a cold night I can't think of anything better. <br/><br/>I tried the ossobuco special, two mounds of meat minus the osso on a bed of saffron risotto. Super.<br/><br/>The wine list is old school, with a heavy and proper emphasis on Italy. There's good value and nothing that stood out as being unreasonably priced. Even for a hard core wino, there are plenty of unknowns on the list. Ask for help.

Dinner last night was just perfect. Great food, excellent wine, and warm ambiance. Definetly the place to go for that special occasion. The pea soup was incredible. Which is a big rap for the humble pea!

The service was exceptionally friendly. We ordered an extensive range of dishes from starters to entrees to mains but it was quite ashame to waste the mains as we were quite too FULL to eat anymore! For starters, we had bruschetta, fish croquettes, olives and home made bread. The fish croquettes are better than your average fish fingers, the bruschetta was really nice, the olives had a lot of texture in it and was good too and, the bread was quite soft - nice too! We then had for entree, gnocchi and short shelled pasta. The gnocchi was very creamy and definitely so soft it was very tasty but the pasta with the pork, was the winner of the night. For mains, we had the special duck and, the lamb. The duck's was crispy but a tad dry. The meat at the lamb's rib was very tender which was good for the guest I was with. We over ordered 😅😅😅 seriously bloated now.

A really great restaurant. First time at Galileo and I loved it. <br/>Very attentive service, the staff even recommend dishes and wine - Hurrah a restaurant that trains their staff!<br/><br/>Food was very delicious, and the mains very ample.<br/>Could not manage dessert so will have to try this on another day.

One of the best Italians. It feels like being back in Italy when you go to Galileo and enjoy their fine cuisine. I would recommend it any day.

Best in town. There are so many disappointing cafes and restaurants in Perth, sometimes I find myself uncharitably wishing ill will on the businesses, thinking they deserve to fail. Its quite the opposite with Galileo. I simply love this place. I hope stays open and thrives as long as I'm alive to enjoy it and long after that too. The rustic, yet sophisticated, Italian food is delicious and the wine list is voluminous but not daunting. Its all exceptionally good value too, and the service is always exemplary - these two qualities being in despairingly short supply in Perth. <br/>Without hesitation or qualification, my favourite restaurant in Perth.

This place really does live up to its reputation. Service is excellent with waiters greeting and acknowledging in Italian. A truly genuine and authentic place without any gimmicks. We ordered the bruschetta and fish croquette for starters. Both dishes were simple but packed with flavour. For mains, we had the duck with mash as well as the rigatoni with pork and broccoli. The duck was a special and had a crispy skin and succulent meat. While this dish lacked in presentation, it made up for it on flavour. The rigatoni was delicious however the only criticism is that that the pasta was not al dente. There is a great selection for dessert with the tiramisu as the winner over the al freddo with home made ice cream. The tiramisu is well balanced and nicely presented. The staff are super friendly and highly efficient. I'd easily recommend this place to anyone would loves honest, authentic Italian food.<br/>Instagram @jj_lian for foodie photos.

My partner and I had a fabulous meal here last night. The food, the wine list, the service and the atmosphere were amazing. And to top this off, the total price was substantially less than we are used to paying elsewhere in Perth. Almost every other Perth restaurant could learn a few things from Galilieo! Thank you - magnifico!

One of my faves!. Dined here last night with a group of friends for old times sakes and it's still as good as ever! Excellent food, great service and well-priced :) The waitstaff are friendly, well-informed, professional and have high regard for what they do which makes for the great dining experience. I really can't fault anything here so will keep this review short and sweet. Galileo is the perfect example of how a restaurant should be run!!

Birthday dinner. Last Friday 9 of us celebrated , my husband's birthday at the restaurant and every single one of us were amazed by the high quality food and impeccable service. All the staff are very professiona<br/>l and seems to want to be there to give us an enjoyable night. Our waiter, Omar, is very knowledgeable of the menu and specials. We all enjoy the food ranging from the duck, lamb, chicken, quail to rib eye steak all magnificent in taste and cook to perfection, The thing I like best about the restaurant is its unpretentiousness unlike many high end restaurants with lots of fanfare in their plating and without reasonable food contents which makes one still feeling hungry after having a 3 course meal which also comes with an exorbitant price.I reckon the success of this restaurant has alot to do with their reasonably priced menu for top quality food and friendly service. The restaurant was extremely busy on that Friday night but the chef still took the trouble to present my husband with a delightful complimentary birthday desert with a candle.I would like to compliment the barista for making one of the best cup of coffee to finish the scrumptious dinner. My thanks to the crafted chef, all the staff and a special thank you to Omar who looked after us so well and for sharing our jokes. It was a dèlight to leave the staff a good tip because of the fantastic service.

Just lovely all round. This place is always consistently lovely with their food and service. The staff are very knowledgeable and friendly - although it is a five star place, they certainly know how to make you feel at home! We had the carpacio (not sure if this is the right spelling), fish main and pasta pain and also the desert board which was out of this world amazing! I think next time I will start with the desert board! Everything was fresh, tasty and well balanced. The servings are small, but hey, it is a fine dining place so you can't really ask for more. It has a lovely atmosphere with just the right lighting to make a special night extra special. Definitely will be back for our next celebration.

Food is not everything. Yesterday on a busy Friday, I took my two friends out for dinner as a bithday present.<br/>I booked in with the same waiter as last time.<br/>Reason? Very simple, absolutely professional, outstanding service and he gave as the feeling to belong to this restaurant, which I absolutely love.<br/>Omar is one of this waiters who makes the evening an experience.<br/>The desert for my friends came with a candle on their plates and the lovely two waitresses sang Happy Birthay.<br/>How good is this!<br/>I hope the owner knows what excellent staff he's got!<br/>It is not only all about food, it is the whole package. <br/>There is hope for Perth!!!

I don't usually leave reviews, but I have to say Galileo buona cucina left a huge impression on me. The food was superb, the service was more than impeccable, and the attention paid to detail was amazing. We came here for a meal for my husband's birthday, and we were treated so well! The staff were friendly without being to in-your-face, and they were very knowledgeable about the menu and specials. I have to give credit to the people in the kitchen cooking the food as well. Just as friendly, they didn't brush us off even though the restaurant was full. We got the gnocchi, and veal meatballs for entrees, my husband got the lamb rack, and I got the partridge ragout. The mains ranged from 20 to mid-30s, which was pretty affordable considering the quality of it. The gnocchi was soft without being too dense and overpowering, and the lamb was cooked to perfection. They also served my husband a complementary flourless mudcake on top of the two desserts we already ordered, which was very nice of them. He was so pleased with the place he left a hefty tip lol, we left really full and happy. And we're definitely coming back. There's still the veal and venison amongst the other mains that he wanted to try. It was truly a delight dining here.

Best Restaurant experience ever. We had dinner on a very busy Friday evening and we're extremely impressed. The staff are very professional, the decor and atmosphere is very appealing and the food was exceptional. Every plate had the Wow factor. The rib eye was cooked to perfection. Looking forward to returning

Lovely meal and service!. Our group of 4 people dined so well on a packed Thursday lunchtime.<br/>Great food and wine (Sicilian Chardonnay was a revelation). The service was immaculate and we were treated to a fun time with little treats at the end...Thank you!
Bern
The food was authentic and delicious but my dining experience was spoiled by a clumsy and inattentive waitress who brought the wrong type of bread. Twice she put down the water jug sloppily and splashed me with droplets. Then came the worst where she knocked over the jug and I got a thorough soaking! She brought me some napkins that did not soak up the water, then a tiny hand towel. I was soaked through to my underwear and hence dessert was spoilt. Even though she apologised, it was perfunctory and not reflected when I went to pay for the meal. No further apologies or any mention of a discount for the inconvenience caused. I felt very let down at the end and disappointed by the experience.

We went with high expectations but came away disappointed and underwhelmed . We were attended immeadiately with water but it was down hill from there. The soup was watery, the gnocchi was also soggy and had been left to long, my wife's pasta and side salad were fine but the roast potatoes although crispy on the outside were again boiled to long. The chocolate torta was very bland. We constantly had to chase the staff for drinks and water who were more concerned with the bigger tables. Very disappointed I can cook better and would have saved $175 for a veggie meal for two

Spettacolare!. We had high expectations of this place, craving an authentic Italian meal and we got just that! <br/><br/>from the mixed plate for entree, the lamb roast, the handmade pasta, the wine and the semi freddo, it was all perfect! these guys know good service, quality ingredients and the prices won't over the top. buonissimo!

Lovely food. Fantastic food, great service and lovely atmosphere. It was so nice to go out for dinner for a change and leave feeling that there was not one course that could have been improved upon and it was well worth every penny. My fish was cooked to perfection and my partner had the veal which he said was lovely. It was the only restaurant that I have ever been to that upon asking if we could share the desert, it appeared on our table in a half portion each on individual decorated plates. We will definitely be back.

Finally found a restaurant that I was proud to take my family to. I was looking for a experience for dinner tonight. I wanted something with yummy tasting food, but with enough on the plate so that we would feel satisfied as well. Thank goodness Galileo delivered! We ordered an entree, main and dessert each and we enjoyed every one of our meals.<br/><br/>The service and serving times were good. Our only complaint was that the water wasn't topped up often enough, but that can be forgiven because the restaurant was exceptionally busy especially for a Thursday night! We were lucky to be able to reserve a table!<br/><br/>Anyway we also noticed that Georgie Gardner (from the Today Show) was there so if it's good enough for her then it's good enough for us too :)<br/><br/>I definitely recommend this restaurant for company dinners. It's also pretty good to bring family or friends. A nice, finer dining experience that's also feels warm and homely and delivers what you expect it to.

Tough Duck!. From all the reviews and of course high recommendation from people around.... my bestie and I celebrated her birthday at this fine dining establishment. My starter was veal meatballs, that was yum! The special was rotisserie duck that was finished off in the oven. I was excited.... then I was disappointed! Tough duck! So sad, however, overall the wine was good and the service same.

Great service, great value, great food. We recently went to dinner with 3 couples at Galileo. Whilst the restaurant was very busy , we were seated straight away, enjoyed water and drinks service immediately and then it continued on with great service all night. Staff knew the wine list well, pointed out some good value reds and were very prompt with glass changes, top ups of wine and water. Food service was very good also. Not over the top but timely. We could not fault the food and all 6 of us had a great evening. Lamb short ribs and the Duck were stand outs, as was the ravioli. No complaints, just praise for a wonderful evening that didn't break the bank.
Susan
Mixed feelings about this restaurant. We both enjoyed a delicious entree - pea and crab ravioli and ricotta gnocchi. Wait staff were attentive and professional. Excellent wine list. Very reasonable prices. On the flip side seated in the entrance way lacked ambiance. Main of pork pocket filled with mozzerella and pancetta was dry and overcooked, ran out of the duck special by 8pm, long wait for first drinks and a forgetten coffee at the end left us feeling the whole experience was a little hit and miss.

First Class. I have been to this Restaurant a few times and have always found it to be very good. I went last week to lunch there with a few friends and am of the opinion that it has got even better. the service was outstanding, as good as I have experienced anywhere in the world & the food just faultless. Lamb short ribs with the peas ,pancetta & onion ten out of ten. we had a mix of the special entre's to share as a starter.<br/>Going back tomorrow evening.

A consistent and amazing experience. Galileo's is probably our favourite restaurant in Perth, and one we've come back to with other people many times, the food is always excellent, service is impeccable, the menu is changed regularly with the seasons, and the wine selection is vast. In particular I would recommend their duck dishes, also order the peas as a side dish, I never realised that something as mundane as peas could become a dish so amazing when cooked up with pancetta and onions. Highly recommended.

Buona indeed. Beautiful street presence-warm ambience. Interior reminiscent of Villa D'Este-all roman style and amber glow. Service impeccable. Food first class. We had duck, lamb and veal, A bottle of Dog Point Pinot and not a quibble about anything -oh except we would have loved more of the mash potato! Just delicious all round. A classic fine dining restaurant. No bells and whistles, just high quality dining that ticks all the boxes. Highly recommended.

We thought it was too good to be true.. Perth is a difficult place to eat.<br/><br/>The first time we went to Galileo, it was so good we assumed that it must have been a fluke, but a return visit yesterday evening settled the matter. We all know the story, you find somewhere you feel is decent, then the 'Perth factor' sets in.<br/><br/>Within 6 months<br/>- it is nolonger affordable<br/>- the quality has dropped<br/>- portions have shrunk, leaving you starving<br/><br/>Not the case with Galileo, this time we went with a friend (who we had been talking it up to for weeks), we were not let down.<br/><br/>Top tips - <br/><br/>- Prepare to part with quite a bit of the 'hard-earned', it isn't cheap and why should it be? It's glorious.<br/>- Skip dessert unless you have an incredible capacity. Their desserts are fine, but the other stuff is great. <br/>- The lamb<br/>- The seafood pasta<br/>- The wine list <br/>- Have cash on you, you will probably want to tip, service is excellent, they hire professionals<br/>- Don't dress up too fancy unless you want to, it's casually classy, no pretence needed.<br/><br/>Good times.

New Favourite. Had a farewell from work dinner here last night and it was absolutely wonderful. From the moment we entered the restaurant we were met with friendly happy staff, the food was divine, no other word for it, and the service was friendly, helpful and unobtrusive. If you go, you must try the eggplant pudding entrée - completely different from what the name suggests and beyond delicious. The sommelier knew the wine list and explained and guided where necessary without being patronizing or 'know it all'. I can't rate this restaurant highly enough and suggest you try it as soon as you can.
Hungrybears
Delightful. We dined here recently to celebrate my birthday. The service was impeccable, the food to die for. I ate the fish of the day and my partner had the lamb. Both dishes were cooked perfectly and very nicely presented. Also quite good value around $30 for a generous serve and very high quality produce. Will keep coming here for special occasions, we are yet to order anything less than delicious off this menu!
Suzanne.steiner
You simply have to try this place. Wow - what an experience. From the very outset when the door is opened for you to the great service and then the food. Simply succulent. Everything I ate here tasted just wonderful. The prices are not too bad either for a top restaurant. And finally, the service is just impeccable. No long waits and pleasant European waiters. All so nice too. I eat at a lot of restaurants but this one really stands out.<br/>You simply have to try it.

Everything about my dinner last night was perfect. Service - Perfect, Food-perfect, ambiance-perfect. There is no restaurant in Perth that comes close to this place, my wife and I had never been before but will def be back (that's if we can get a booking). If you own a restaurant in Perth, do yourself a favour and go to this place to see how it's done.

Nice surprise. I made a late reservation for dinner for 5 so we were asked to dine earlier than usual.. but all was fine in every respect. It seems we all chose different dishes and all were excellent. Rated per my expectations - Service 90%.. food 85%... prices 80%... ambience 75%... cordiality 95%.. AND easy parking. Thank you.

Fantastic!. My boyfriend and I went here for a mid-week dinner after hearing rave reviews from my colleagues. The restaurant lived up to all our expectations; the service was helpful and polite (without being overbearing!) and the food and wine was beautiful. This is meant to be a fine dining restaurant and the prices were on par with every other sh*tty "Italian" restaurant in Perth.

Exceptional. I went to Galileo Buona Cucina on Friday, 30 August 2013 for a dinner date. My date is relatively new to Perth and picked this restaurant after reading the excellent reviews about it on Urbanspoon. The service, food, wine, presentation and atmosphere was nothing short of exceptional. The antipasto platter was a highlight, as was the wine. We were guided by an enthusiastic and knowledgeable waiter in relation to wine (red, white, dessert & port) and were very pleased with the recommendations. I couldn't be happier and will definitely go back.

Treated my parents to an anniversary dinner at Galileo tonight. They were so pleased and I was too! Great wait service -friendly, attentive but not obsequious or hovering. Knowledgeable & clear about gluten free alternatives too. Fresh and quality ingredients prepared very well with well balanced flavours. Great bustling ambiance, good range of wines. Such a nice touch: Two of the people at my table wanted to share a dessert and the waiter actually made sure that the cake was divided into two plates and finished with individual cream and sauce flourishes before serving the table. A happy and satisfying night. We'll definitely be back!
Danielle
Birthday Dinner. We had a fantastic dinner for my birthday last night. The food and service was brilliant and we had our own little corner of the restaurant. There were 13 of us and the food all came out at the same time and was very tasty. The restaurant even prepared a special desert for me and sung happy birthday - very sweet. Thank you for a lovely night.

Favourite Restuarant in Australia!. Without a shadow of a doubt, this restaurant is the best Italian in Australia!!!<br/><br/>If you live in Perth and have not yet been, i suggest you get up and grab your phone out of your pocket and book a seat now!!!!!! Take the mrs, take your mother, take a stranger or even go alone. You will definitely not be disappointed.<br/><br/>My wife and I, (25yo and 28yo respectively) were in Perth for a week and a half from Sydney. In that time we dined at this restaurant 3 times and have told all our families and friends about it and will be coming back in a few months with a group for a weekend away just to have dinner here.<br/><br/>Wait staff are superb, extremely professional and know the specials, meals of the day and the entire menu without a hint of doubt. The manager is welcoming, the decor is rustic and feels very italian and the chef i would marry but im already married and we'd both be men so i think it wouldnt quite work out but i would still marry him becuase he's cooking is divine!<br/><br/>Just go. Now.

This restaurant is superb.Food delicious omg the ricotta gnocchi is a must have.<br/>Authentic italian in every sense , menu , operators, waiters and all served with flair and genuine passion. Thanks for a great anniversary night Galileo!
JB
Overrated. Food not bad but there's much better Italian in Perth for better value also. Small selection of pastas on the menu and both our dishes were ok but lacked flavour. Mains also quite average. Great service but overall I'm not sure why its so highly rated.
Mimifama
We had a fantastic meal. The entree and the main came out piping hot. The service was excellent. I Love Galileo.

Friday night dinner for four.. So refreshing to see professional and knowledgeable wait staff in action. <br/>Wine list is huge with many unusual Italian varieties. We were guided by the waiter and were happy with the choice.<br/>All our dishes were flavoursome and balanced including the side dishes. We had to order more of the excellent bread to mop up all those delicious flavours - too good to waste.<br/>Wine matches with dessert weren't perfect but they did not detract from an all round enjoyable meal.
David Christie
Its Not Rocket Science. Ah, Perth, I do love thee to bits. The wait staff here show enthusiasm, flair, passion and they seem to be well trained. I like that anywhere. The venue is pretty well placed, with parking available. The wine list is good, even very good. Its family friendly-and the kids were well behaved.<br/>Now, the food, well, it was not Melbourne, was it? I had the soup of the day, which could have been more boring, though I'm not quite sure how. The fish of the day was very good...like, fish. Fresh fish, cooked well. The nibbles? Well, pet, pop over to the Re Store and you'll do better in all ways. I tried the Gnocchi too-yawn. Yes, I'm harsh, but I do work hard for my money, and I can cook, and I'm hard to be impressed-should I not be impressed ? Who ever said the Tiramisu was to die for needs to get out more. No, seriously dude-go for a week to Melbourne, Sydney at a pinch.
Tiff
Dinner. Cannot say anything but fab things -fantastic service. Friendly and helpful staff. Every item on the menu is delicious-we actually like to eat early and have been lucky enough to score a table early without booking-6pm.<br/>Love everything about it-wine list is impressive<br/>great night out!
Lynn
Dinner for Twelve.. We all enjoyed a wonderful evening with plenty of attention from the waiters.<br/>The food was well presented and we all thought tasted delicious. The price of mains was reasonable but the wines were a bit pricey. All in all a good evening and we will return.<br/>Lynn.
Halo
Had a really lovely night here recently, the food was pretty good and the waiters were all very attentive and friendly. Shame there is no byo as wines are pricey, but I would definitely go back sometime.
Madsidney
Stunning. Perfect food, excellent service and lovely atmosphere. Highly recommended.

Amazing. This is my local restaurant and, in my opinion, one of the best in Perth. Consistently good food and very reasonable prices - around $20 for pastas and $30 for mains. Also a great wine selection.<br/><br/>The service can be slow, but it's worth it for the food. Same waiters for forever, which I think is always a good sign.<br/><br/>I recommend:<br/>- eggplant parmigiana (entrée)<br/>- veal meatballs (entrée)<br/>- hand cut seafood pasta (main)<br/>- lamb (main)<br/>- duck (main)<br/><br/>Actually, come t think of it, all the meat main meals are excellent.<br/><br/>And of course, MUST GET THE TIRAMISU. Out of this world.
Johndm
WOW. I have heard raving reviews about Galileo, so we decide to get a reservation for a Friday night for a group of ten people. <br/>We decide to have starters and also appetizers. <br/>Well the bruschetta the bread was well done the garlic bread was well done and the Italian sausages, this was also well done may be the term that I should be using is burnt or hard as a rock. The others and I were very lucky no dental work required after this experience.<br/>The place was full but this is no excuse and mains took well over an hour and half we did voice our disapproval to the waiter whom seem to think it was not his problem.
Jo
Definite Winner. After reading some of the reviews we were a bit worried about eating here, but we're glad we went! We had dinner last night on a Wednesday with good atmosphere and very good service, wine and water glasses topped up regularly. We didn't have to wait long to order and entree came soon after. Entree was the special, chicken livers. My husband's favourite and we would go back just for those, very tender with a delicious rich sauce. I had the cuttlefish strips, very tasy and the cuttlefish was cooked perfectly. We should have ordered some bread to soak up the sauce, it was so good! Main was delivered within 40 minutes (very reasonable) which gave us time to leisurely talk over our wine. Mains was the veal backstrap and venison. The veal backstrap was cooked perfectly and my husband was very happy, however the venison was in strips (the menu stated medallions). Most of the strips were well done for my liking although we weren't asked how we would prefer our meat. But it was tender and had a great taste so I can forgive the well done strips. The sauces on all entrees and mains were rich and flavoursome, not too salty and not swimming in butter as stated in some reviews. The pear and apple crumble was delicious, my husband's choice again! My tiramisu had good flavour but I've never tasted another tiramisu like I had in Rome... We were very happy with the whole evening, especially after getting the bill of $160 for 2 entrees, 2 mains and 2 deserts and a bottle of wine and a complimentary plate of after dinner treats, very good value for Perth and we walked out full and satisfied. There are a lot of overrated, expensive and poorly serviced restaurants in this city but this is one of the best Italian restaurants we've been to in Perth. Disregard some of the reviews, try it for yourself and form your own opinion. Maybe it was something to do with being a Wednesday night, but we will definitely come back to Galileo any night of the week.
Naila
A sure bet. Great, simple and delicious wholesome food, attentive service, actual Italians running the place.
Neil McLagan
Food was flavoursome however the venison and the veal were both a little tough/dry. Service was very slow and definitely the let down, otherwise the food was food
Cjguerrini
Best food in Perth. We go to Galileo at least 4 time a year and year in and out the food is perfect. We don't choose 1 specific menu item we try to cover the whole menu if we can. The service has at times been slowish but in an all round effort the service is fantastic. Gesepi in particular is the best waiter I have had the pleasure to be served by.<br/>I highly recommend this restaurant for any occasion
Rebecca Secomb
Entrees slow even though ordered as soon as we walked in. Pasta Mains were tasteless and swimming in butter. Wouldn't return.
Friend Of The Cupcake
Ignore the bad reviews.. Our second Galileo experience tonight was just as good, if not better than last time. We were surprised to see how many negative reviews there are here on urbanspoon, the majority either complaining that the food was too salty or not "Italian enough". We could not fault anything during our meal; everyone's meals were very flavourful and definitely not too salty, service was acceptable, timing between the entree and main was spot on, and all the food was definitely Italian. If those people are going to a cucina italiana expecting Spaghetti Bolognese and garlic bread, they won't be satisfied at Galileo- try Fasta Pasta.<br/><br/>Also great coffee, Galileo - as always!
RS
Great food. Great Italian cuisine at a reasonable price. Like most cafe's it can be quite noisy as it is usually full.
Maureen
A nice setting, but perhaps lay off the salt? Struggled to eat most of the food due to the extreme saltiness... But the chocolate tart was absolutely perfect
Blah
Super slow service, frustrating wait for everything - 30 min to order, further 20 min for wine and it almost got the the point where we weren't hungry anymore. We had to get up and go to the bar to chase up on our wine order, they brought wrong wine so another 10 min wait. Over seasoned and overlooked meat, duck was so salty and whats with the excessive use if dry herbs in everything - it overpowered the delicate flavour of venison and duck we've had. Not authentic Italian whatsoever, if a restaurant has one fish and 6 meat dishes with no vegetarian option in sight, that's just simply a boring menu. Disappointing, would not recommend - service 4/10, food 6/10 (Golden Ravioli do better pasta), ambiance in the passage way converted into eating area - 2/10.

We booked dinner here tonight for our wedding anniversary because we had heard good things. It took 45mins for our entrè to come, and 1 hour and 45 minutes for the main meals. They didn't have any of their traditional Italian soft drinks available. After 1.20 minutes, the waiter said it would take 2 minutes, but it took another half an hour without an explanation. At no point, even after reluctantly paying the bill, was there acknowledgement of or an apology for the very poor service. The entrè was nice, but the red meat was raw (they never asked us how we would like them) and the chicken has seasoning only on the fatty skin. The inside was the same as any chicken from Coles. I still have the taste of the blood from the meat in my mouth, but it's a good reminder never to go there again. The worst restaurant we've ever been to.

Fabulous food and service. Attentive, career waiters, knowledgeable about the menu and wine. Superb food at great value. I've been there many times, usually in a small group but even when catering for 40 of us the food and service were flawless.

Poor Service. Nine work related friends went to celebrate Christmas and were let down by the service. After initial drinks and nibbles we waited around 45 minutes with two empty wine bottles and no water then we had to ask for some service.<br/>The staff were too busy chatting with 3 staff frequently taking time to chat to departing guests. The waiter and manager apologised but with a bill of over $1100 we were disappointed.

My partner and I went for dinner on Friday night and although we enjoyed the food, the service was poor. Our mains came out before we were even half way through our entrees. We noticed that the ''regulars" were very well treated but none of the waiters even bothered to check if we were enjoying our meals or ask if we needed any drinks (water glasses sat empty for over 20 minutes). Left at the end of the night feeling deflated. Wouldn't go again.

Went there for dinner tonight and it was absolutely yummo! First of all the service was fantastic. We had a very friendly waiter who was constantly making sure we were ok and honestly the food just kept coming. It was fantastic! We ordered starters, the bread with oil was delicious, then we ordered the meatballs with white wine for the entree. Yummmmm!!!!! For our mains my fiancé opted for the gnocchi which was unbelievable! And he was comparing it to his Nonnas delicious home made gnocchi and honestly... Every bite was heavenly!!! I ordered the special which was pork belly and braised beef and I was not at all disappointed. We went there to celebrate my fiances bday and we were really impressed. This place is a hidden treasure. The red wine was divine as was my cocktail. We finished off the night with tiramisu and torrone with home made ice cream and both desserts were delicious. Overall I'm going to say 10/10. It's so great to see great food, decently priced and fantastic service in Perth!!! Will def be coming back!

Service? What's that?. We are a group of busy mums who were at lunch today to celebrate a birthday. The service was good to begin with. <br/>However, it went downhill when the other waiter served us. I had waved him over to get his attention. He took his time coming to our table. When he arrived, he snuck up behind me (I was sitting next to the wall) and spoke very rudely and loudly in my ear to ask what I wanted. I explained that we were wanting to order desserts and coffees but needed to leave in 40 minutes to pick up kids from school. He sighed and said that he would do what he could. On clearing the table, he almost put a plate into one of the ladies' face. When getting our orders, he seemed rather disinterested and a bit condescending. I'm not sure whether he was having a bad day or just didn't appreciate being rushed for our benefit BUT, it spoilt the whole lunch. <br/>It is a pity as the food was faultless.

Another wonderful dinner at Galileo last night. Food is as always superb and the service excellent, first class. If yr not sure what to chose from in their excellent wine selection they are only too willing to offer their advice, and for wine buffs like we are, they have never failed to bring something that is memorable. Thanks for another great night!
Fiona
Thought the menu was very boring. Not much variety. This is a very traditional restaurant with heavier style dishes. Too expensive for the decor and service.
JnT
The Alan jones treatment. We celebrated 30 years of matrimonial bliss over dinner and a bottle of chianti but were non plussed to be presented with a bill that included another bottle of wine and another glass of wine that were not part of our order. When I pointed it out, we got the Alan Jones apology - insincere and barely civil. Not an experience too rush back to.

Top 5. This would have to be one of my favourite restaurants in Perth.<br/>The food is always quality and the service is refreshingly professional. <br/>The nougat semi freddo is highly recommended.<br/>The only downside is that you have to book well in advance for a table at the weekend.<br/>Keep up the good work Galileo!

Brilliant! Truly genuine Italian cuisine with a wonderful Sicilian vibe. The cassata a divine conclusion. Giuseppe's service understated and very professional. We'll be back!
LJ
Absolutely beautiful!! Service was attentive but not intrusive. My husband had the duck which was moist and incredibly tasty! I tried the venison (which is my first time eating venison) and it was amazing! I never knew so much flavour could come out of one meal. Dessert was a good portion size- I don't think I could have fitted more in! A local favorite that we never tire of:) I would suggest to book quite in advance as they book out quickley.

Great dining experience. Came here with a couple of girlfriends one Friday evening not knowing what to expect. We were greeted by friendly waiters in little bow ties and thick Italian accents - from then on we knew we were definitely in for a treat!<br/><br/>We started off with some chicken livers and meatballs and my they were tasty. The portions were huge so I was more than happy to share my dish with my eating companions. One of my girlfriends decided not to have entrees as she is a small eater, but the waiter insisted she should have some bread while we had our food. She agreed but little did we realise that he was charging us for it, sneaky!<br/><br/>Shortly after our mains came out - my lamb dish was a little salty but it was damn tasty. Rich, fall off the bone tender which paired perfectly with a side of peas and bacon. My girlfriends's entree sized ravioli was perfectly sized and packed full of flavour, and the venison was tender and delicious.<br/><br/>For dessert my girlfriend ordered the nougat parfait which was HUGE! She enjoyed every little bit of it. My other girlfriend and I decided to share the flourless mud cake. Upon hearing this request the waiter must of mentioned it to the chef because they were kind enough to cut the dessert in half and serve each bit up on it's own plate with ice cream and strawberries - how thoughtful!<br/><br/>Overall it was an great dining experience and I look forward to returning again.

Quality package. Dined here with friends last night and had a lovely evening. Food was pretty simple but well executed. The menu was a little limited in terms of mains, and nothing really grabbed me, but I ordered an entree pasta which was tasty enough and an ample serve. And the others raved about their meals. Might sound strange, but a highlight for me was the lemon drink I ordered. Can't remember the name, but as a non-drinker it's nice to have something out of the ordinary to drink, and it really was different and beautiful. Another highlight was the service. Waiters were all Italian, and friendly and accommodating in a nice understated way. Desserts were good too. All round a very pleasant evening.

Best restaurant in Perth. This is my favourite restaurant in Perth. The food and the service are fantastic and it is reasonably priced. Personal favourite is the wood fired duck served on creamy mash which is often a special.
Aimeebresland
Best Italian in Perth. We visited this place in summer time and were seated in the court yard. Our waiter, with his thick Italian accent, was brilliant. He was passionate about the food and recommended some fantastic wine to pair with our meal. My husband had the woodfired venison which was to die for. My pasta was also delish. Highly recommend this place for service, food and ambience!
HungryHippo
Great but rushed. We went here for my partners end of financial year function. While the food was fantastic (duck, rack of lamb and parfita rolls) the attitude of the staff was a little lacking.<br/><br/>Granted they were quick with the water and drink orders but the attitude when handing out meals was something I have never experienced before... and not in a good way.<br/><br/>Our reservation was for 6:30 and people had all arrived by 7. Orders were taken at 7:30 and we did not recieve our entre's until 8:15pm, mains 9:15 and desert at 10:15 (rough estimates). No sooner had we finished our deserts that we felt like we were being herded (quite literally) out the door. 10:30pm on a saturday night for a work function is no something I was completely expecting, especially when the food took it's time coming out.<br/><br/>Great food but attitude needs to change before we will be back again
Joe
Faultless. Fantastic food, lovely btl of red and great company
Illi
Went here for hubby's bday and what a meal! We shared a pasta for entree...homemade, fresh and delicious! Mains were faultless... Pork belly and veal involtini with a side salad...divine!<br/>Hubby couldn't leave without sweets and same again. We had such a wonderful dining experience and were reminded exactly what Italian food is!!
Candii J
Delizioso!. Came here for dinner recently with family from NSW and had a wonderful meal. One of our party has coeliac disease and our waiter was quick to share the gluten-free options the restaurant was able to provide, including gluten-free pasta! We were delighted by how accommodating they were and the overall ambience of the place contributed to our lovely dining experience. The food was some of the tastiest Italian I've had in Australia and I'll happily eat there again.
ChrisM
Mixed Bag!. So we headed to Galileo's with much anticipation and a spring in our step, we were dining with two other couples and were hopeful that both restaurant and company would combine for a great night out.<br/><br/>Well one only gets one chance to make a good impression, the staff at Galileo's obviously feel that the sentiment does not apply to them. We were greeted with a terse "Your table is not ready you will need to wait while we clear away", no apology, no indication of how long the wait would be and no offer of an aperatif be it purchased or complimentary (which would have been appropriate under the circumstances). We were left to stand somewhat awkwardly in what is the main thoroughfare in front of the bar and amongst seated diners, not pleasant for us or more importantly the diners. Finally after ten minutes or so of dancing around diners, wait staff and each other we took ourselves out onto the street until called to our table (another ten minutes later).<br/><br/>So to the meals, well the entree meatballs were far too salty and devoid of any sauce (Manu would have been beside himself) and the gnocchi was not a resounding success either but to be fair I did not try it. So to the mains, the Venison was sensational I could not fault it, wonderfully cooked and the sauce (Manu would now be happy) was a wonderful piquant accompaniment. The only negative was the absence of any semblance of vegetables or garnish bar a very small scoop of mash around which the meat was arranged. The wife had a main size of the aforementioned gnocchi and could not eat it (nor could another diner in our party) and ultimately we were not charged for it which was a welcome concession but begged the question "Was the Gnocchi a 'miss' for all that ordered it that night"? hence the unsolicited 'no charge' come bill paying time, one wonders.<br/><br/>Finally there was a wonderful 'Faulty Towers' moment come dessert time, only two of our party elected to have dessert and the waiter had dutifully explained the nights 'specials' and he promoted very heavily the profiteroles. Come time to order a Tiramisu was requested straight off the bat whilst the other dessert orderer asked the waiter specifically if the Tiramisu was particularly good, to which the waiter replied "the profiteroles are delicious", and not unresonably the question was again asked "and the Tiramisu"? To which the reply was once again "the profiteroles are delicious" so taking the hint our diner abandoned all hope of getting a Tiramisu and dutifully ordered the profiteroles, which happily appeared to be perfectly acceptable.<br/><br/>So all in all it was a mixed bag, certainly not the worst meal ever but some way short of the reputation that Galileo's enjoys according to the website reviews I read which had ultimately prompted the booking. I guess I would return but only after sampling the food at the plethora of other Italian restaurants in Perth, furthermore I can assure you there is one in particular (Prego) that stands head and shoulders above Galileo's and at a similar price point a choice between the two is a stone cold 'no brainer'!

Overall ok service. Entree was one of the best I had ever tasted have try any of the pasta there it's a given. Main I had the special Crispy skin Duck. Portion size was generous; sauce was not enough would have like a bit more Jus.<br/>We had to ask twice for the drinks we ordered, no offer of another glass of wine when the waiter took the empty one away. Dessert was great. <br/><br/>Will go back just for the pasta it was awesome

Perfetto. Undoubtedly the best Italian dining experience I've had in Perth. I haven't had a meal in ages which I felt captured the regional dishes of the motherland itself. My friends and I shared an entree (which was ample for all of us, and great value) of zucchini, eggplant and pecorino involtini, which was simply phenomenal.<br/><br/>We also managed to divide a delicious cucumber salad between the four of us. How did they season that thing? Damn it was so good!<br/><br/>And the mains were sensational. Sensational. I had the pea and spanner crab ravioli with beans, pinenuts and tomato. Light, a bit of oil and a touch of broth remaining. I was on the floor, it was so delicious. <br/><br/>Go there. it's not expensive, the wait staff are charming and delightful and the food is to die for.
OC
Amazing. We had the most amazing experience and meal here last night. The waiters were so lovely and knowledgable, every dish we ordered was cooked to perfection (especially loved the venison and the lamb), the wine was delicious and the general ambience was just what we were after. It was also so reasonably priced for the quality of the food and the protion sizes! Can't wait to go back there. Thank you for a wonderful night!
Tracey
Awsome. Ate at Galileo last night and the food was sensational and so well priced ... the service was also great you never had to wait if your glass was empty and the italian waiters are very informed on the food and the wines<br/>loved it ...so sick of paying a fortune for bad food and bad service, this restaurant is a winner

Awesome Experience. Wonderful ambaiance, great wait staff with authentic Italian service, super friendly, attentive, and the best part are the wine lsits, and of course the menu; a wonderful selection of entrees, mains , pasta and deserts. Highly recommend, we will back again and agian.
Le Chifre
Waiters like they ought to be and hearty Italian food. Also great coffee and desserts.
Omnom
Awful service. The waiter who served us was terribly rude and condescending. Will not be returning for this reason
KAM
Excellent. Parking at the door, easy to get, so a good spot for a business lunch. The food and service were outstanding, and whilst it's not cheap (by any stretch of imagination), it is worth the money for quality food and excellent service. Highly recommended when you want somewhere special that's still got a friendly and casual feel.

A bit salty. Dinner here this week was yummy and authentic Italian. The waiter spoke with such a thick accent we had to ask him to repeat several times! Love that they all wore ties and wait coats and had serviettes folded over their arms. The food was delicious, but everything was quite heavily salted. A nice wine list too. Always heavily booked too!

Great Italian is hard to find!. Galileo would be one of the best Italian restaurants in Perth. <br/><br/>I love Italian food and finding an authentic, good quality restaurant is like finding an needle in a hay stack in Perth. <br/><br/>Myself and 4 of my amazing girlfriends went to Galileo for dinner and we were not disappointed at all!<br/><br/>The decor can not be flawed and the atmosphere really makes you feel like your right at home. Although at first it was confusing as you have a waiter/waitress who seats you and pours your drinks and another waiter/waitress who will take your order, the service was incredible.<br/><br/>The wait staff joked with us and made dish suggestions, which I really love as it shows they know what is good and can help your explore different flavours!<br/><br/>We all shared an entree (which they made just for us as one of my friends was a vegetarian) a main meal, dessert and a lovely glass of sparkling red wine. <br/><br/>At the end of our dessert they offered us a complimentary muscato from a small village near Sicily, it was a beautiful end to the meal.<br/><br/>It cost us $50.00 a head and for the quality of the food and service, I can honestly say we were extremely impressed with what we were given!<br/><br/>Highly recommend you try Galileo it will not disappoint!

Wonderful Italian - with a catch.. After recently returning from Europe having had some excellent and average Italian food, my wife and I tried Galileo and were generally very pleased. I normally don't go for Italian as it's so often disappointing, but this hit the spot - well almost. <br/>Having read so much about the food being very salty (something we experienced in Italy too) we were very aware of this. And I was pleased to say, while the salt content wasn't low, for us it was just fine. The lamb was really fantastic, falling off the bone and flavoursome. 5 stars. My venison was quite well cooked to medium, (maybe just slightly over the stated medium-rare) and was an explosion of herbed flavour. Very nice. The potato mash accompanying it was a little heavy, but the mixed veges - wow. So simple but so much flavour. <br/>I would have said 'really liked' if I hadn't had the dessert special. I am a sucker for chocolate mousse, but I don't know what that was. I couldn't understand the waiter 100% so he may have said 'frozen' somewhere in the description. But it wasn't mousse. It was frozen and served in wedges like a cake. Very poor texture and average flavour. Very disappointing. The hazelnut ice cream was not bad, but not a patch on the artisan gelati in Italy. <br/>It's a shame because I wanted to give it top marks. The staff were very friendly and quite well informed, and being Italian they gave it a really authentic feel with the ubiquitous "prego". Will definitely go back, but maybe won't have dessert next time.
Would Love A Good Cup Of Tea
Great restaurant!. We had a pasta with prawns and asparagus salad for entrees, the lamb and venison for mains and a chocolate cake and panna cotta for desserts. While the chocolate dessert was ok, it was the best panna cotta and pasta i've had in a long time- absolutely delicious!!!! Mains were a bit peppery for my liking, but everything was perfectly cooked, with lovely flavours!!! We'll be back!

Best Duck. Came to Galileo for my two friends' birthdays. The service seemed to rush us along a bit there were way too many specials that the waiter read that we all got a bit lost. For entree we shared a fennel salad and a maccheroni which were good. The famous duck was the one i ordered and it was delicious. I am not a fan of duck at all because it tends to be fatty but this was divine. My friends had the venison and chicken this too was delicious. However we all thought the dishes were a bit salty. I had their pannacotta for dessert and this two was delicious. The tiramisu was average and the flourless cake very rich. I would return again just for the duck and pannacotta
Lady M
Simply the best. I dined here last week with three friends (girls night out) and can honestly say this is the best restaurant I have been in for a very long time. A bit on the pricey side but well worth it. It was packed on a Wednesday evening, which says a lot in itself. The food and service were faultless. I can't wait to return! Despite the fact that we were one of the last tables to leave (we were having such a great time), at no time did the staff give us the impression that they were eager to close up and go home.
Wine Libertarian
Great Italian food and wines. We have being wanting to go here for quite awhile and finally got around to booking, well worth it, not over price, food was excellent, wine list interesting and nice ambiance.
Food Groove
Perfect on a cold winter's night.... I dined here with a friend on a recent cold, wet Wednesday night, and the atmosphere, hearty food and bubbly service was the perfect combination to warm my soul!<br/><br/>I was very much looking forward to re-visting Galileo after over year since last dining here. With fond memories of my last dining experience, I was hoping the food and service was still at the same level. I was not disappointed! I ordered the pasta dumplings for my entree, which was fresh, and satisfying. For my main, I could not decide on the house specialty duck or the wood-fired lamb, so the waitress generously suggested they could organise a bit of both on the same plate, and I even got to choose which cut of the duck I would prefer - I was thrilled! Both meats were just divine and melted in my mouth. Dessert was also delicious, with my friend ordering the profiteroles, which were beautifully fresh, and I ordered the nougat parfait with home-made ice-cream, which was also a delight! Very generous servings, so we were more than content by the end of our lengthy sitting. The wait staff are very friendly, and the dining setting has a certain warmth and inviting atmosphere. <br/><br/>I will be back!

I'll try again. I recently went here for a lunch during the week and to be honest it was just ok.<br/>The place had only one other table but it was a late lunch for us so I guess all the others had been through the restaurant for the day. Our pasta meals were not the best nothing totally terrible but just average, honestly not worth going into detail about, just leave it at ...boring. For the reputation of this place I felt we'd been to the wrong restaurant. <br/>I will come back though and have an evening meal. Maybe we hit them on a bad day ... maybe * shrugs*
Roman
Overall a very nice evening, good selection of wines, helpful waiter and great service. The meals were hearty and good value for money. Only small complaint is that the Salmon Carpacio needed a little bit if acidity a squeeze of lemon would of been perfect. Also the meals on general were very heavily salted. Now I love salt but it was on the limit for me. Don't be put off by my coments overall a good experience. Cost $440 for four. That's 3 courses with drinks which would of accounted for around $160 of the total.
Jason
Great Experience. Was recommended here and had dinner on Saturday night. Great Location, nice Decor and Ambience. Wait Staff mature, friendly and professional.<br/><br/>Food was excellent, ordered ravioli to share for entree and they served it in two seperate plates for us, and the quantity was substantial. The mains cooked in the wood fired oven are fantastic. the lamb was so tender, juicy and had all the flavours you would expect from being cooked like this. Unfortunately they had run out of the Venison but the Duck was a great alternative.<br/><br/>Good Wine Selection, will return

Best Italian in Perth. Excellent service, food and ambience. Aldo our waiter was charming and knowledgeable, food was prepared with pride and taste with rustic flavours and not too pretentious.<br/><br/>Menu was interesting with a change from stock standard dishes too common in other Perth italian eateries. <br/><br/>Though all were good, the stand out dishes from our table of 7 included the salmon gravlax. spit roast duck (their signature dish) and beef ribs.<br/><br/>Lots of specials including a desert special which I've never previously encountered anywhere.<br/><br/>Extensive and professional drinks list including explanations of all categories by variety, region, etc.<br/><br/>It's not until you come to a place like this that you realise how sorely lacking many other Italian establishments in Perth are. <br/><br/>Prices are on parity with most other Italian restaurants I'd visited recently but with Galileo you get so much more to savour.

Bellissimo!. THE best Italian restaurant in Perth!<br/><br/>The authentic Italian touch to the restaurant is what really makes it. Our waiter was very professional and attentive without been annoying. Very impressed with the friendly service and i liked the atmosphere in the restaurant.<br/><br/>Compliments to the chef. The food was really delicious. Roast Duck and vegetables were cooked perfectly. The prawns were superb. Having tiramisu for dessert just topped the night off for us.<br/><br/><br/>I highly recommend this as a place to go for a date night with your loved one or with the family for a birthday or anniversary. The staff take great care of you and you're guaranteed a good, wholesome Italian feed. <br/><br/>Perth Eater

Never disappoints. I have been to Galileo 4 times this year and I have to say it never disappoints. The staff are informative, helpful, professional, knowledgeable on the wine list and the food is simple, but high quality. Can't say enough good things about it. It is so refreshing to go to a restaurant where service is so good! Thank-you Galileo and staff for making each experience so memorable!
DC1980
Great food and service without being pretentious. One of the best Italian restaurants in Perth. Ask for the meat tasting plate - it's not on the menu but the kitchen is more than happy to make it.
Airwalk
Beautiful Italian Meal. Went for lunch and found the food to be traditional and hearty serves. Very authentic and tasty...some very large serves(short ribs very big and finger licking good)...wait staff recited specials in thick Italian accents. Highly recommend. Rob Broadfield was having a casual business lunch and appears to be a regular...will be going back again and again myself.
Foodeater187b
YUM. Went on a tuesday night. it was packed. food was great. still highly recommended after all these years

This is the best italian restaurant in Perth, by all means, it has exceptional service and very funky food, it is italian food with modern twist but well sized. I would recommend it to anyone!
Carlo
Evening ruined by arrogant and ignorant waiter all to happy to pass the buck for order muck up. So called 'manager' very good at making matters worse by refusing to cancel order and causing an even greater scene. Understaffed and very noisy. Greed has overtaken them.
Carla Mancini
Beautiful home made italian. Absolutely loved it.... had lunch here today and was so nice to have home made pasta, and dessert, and food that just had so much flavour and great portions. The service was great, the staff know the menu well and very friendly.... i cant wait to go back...

Will go again, but..... Excellent food, but the staff seemed a little untrained - too many different people attending my table, and no one seemed to be able to do what I needed without first calling someone else. I'd much prefer a dedicated waiter.
Griff
As good as it gets. I need to disclose that i am an enthusiastic fan of this restaurant, from its early beginnings where we were almost alone in the place to these days where its almost impossible to get a booking. It ticks all the boxes, great food, extensive wine list, attentive staff who know their stuff and a wonderful, warm, "at home "atmosphere.Ive been here many times and its without doubt one of my favourites.
Claire
A true Italian dining experience.. I had the pleasure of having luch at Galileo late last year. I really did feel like I'd escaped to Italy for a couple of hours. There are many, many Italian restaurants in Perth but few capture the passion and pride that Italians have for their food like Galileo. Fantastic homemade dishes and an excellent wine selection.
Andrew Devitt
This must be one of the best value dining experiences in town. They could get away with charging far more given the quality of food.

Quality. The best authentic Italian food I've tasted in Perth and well priced. The ambiance could be more cosy but the service is attentive and personal and the food really is delicious and well worth many return visits.
Marcus
Outstanding Italian. Edmarno is there, more subdued than his days at Aperol, but he's the best host in Perth. Everything on the menu is quality, they take pride and care in everything they do. Enjoy!

Galileo is one of only 10 restaurants in WA to be recognised by the Italian Government with the Ospitalità Italiana quality seal. This is based on strict quality standards which include: the use of ingredients sourced from Italy, a menu and wine list containing traditional regional produce and, of course, the presence of Italian personnel.

Service is attentive, the restaurant busy and the wine list, huge. We came mid-week and all the tables were full. Make sure you pre-book. Our table shared bruschetta and antipasto. I had the pea filled ravioli with crab and broad beans. Good value with mains under $30. The food was very full of flavour but a little rich for my tastes. Our coffees came with complimentary sweets. 199 Onslow Road, Shenton Park Share this: Twitter Facebook Google Like this: Like Loading... I attended the media launch of the Accento Italian Cooking Master Class organised by Accento and ICCI. The food on display was delicious. In a 6 part series starting with Giuseppe Pagliaricci of Perugino Restaurant on May 20th, 6 acclaimed Italian chefs will teach you the ins and outs of preparing delicious Italian food accompanied by Italian wines. The classes are held at the Accento showrooms in Claremont and organised by the Italian Chamber of Commerce & Industry.
