Review Peking City Restaurant - Shepparton

Good buffet selection. Seem to have a regular refill of food to keep it fresh. Did not order from the menu so can not comment but was happy with the quality of food on offer. Only suggestion would be that the chicken and sweet corn soup was light on both chicken and corn and was over thickened. Otherwise would go back again!

Business like waiter met us at the front desk. Not very welcoming or hospitable. Ushered to a table for two in an almost empty restaurant. Found food to be overcooked and tasteless. It looked as tho they needed to change the cooking oil. Couldn't complete the meals too salty and overcooked. Won't be going back.

Grabbed some takeaway for dinner. Food was excellent, but l thought the lady taking our order was rude and abrupt.

Was an enjoyable night out for us, a group of 8. We had a very nice young waitress. Generous servings of food, my husband and I shared and there was plenty. We all agreed the food was a bit in the salty side but was still enjoyable. Probably only negative feature was the coffee machine was not working so only instant coffee was available. One of our friends ordered one and was charged the price of a cappuccino, I thought that was a bit expensive. Overall, a pleasant experience.

Not really sure it's worth 3 stars but I'll give it the benefit of the doubt. It's been here and operated by the same family for a very long time, I'd suggest that possibly they are getting a bit tired. My wife and I had very different main meals and both were quite tasty and reasonable size although I thought a little bit expensive. But what killed the whole deal was that I knew my meal was just duck, no trimmings, so I bought a plate of rice. No exaggeration, it was the worst rice I've ever had. 60% was hard! Just terrible. Drinks were exorbatant as well. Won't be going back.

Peking Steak was fantastic and the beef and black been was really nice. However the fried rice was terrible, nothing in it and overcooked and the chicken and cashew was tasteless.
