Review Frangos - Smithfield

Have had this a few times. Portion size is great for a $17.50 combo. Luckily the huge portion of chips makes up for it. Bummer that the sauces have to be paid now instead of self serve which my preference Overall: 8/10

Wonderful customer service . My first time at Frango and I fell in love with the tangy charcoal chicken. The crispy bread surprisingly works perfect. I will buy again and I recommend Frango's. 😎

Honestly a 4.5 but just slightly off due to service was slightly slow. We were seated quickly but we had to wait to be served for a bit longer than expected and it wasn’t that busy. Our knives were also placed after two dishes came. However the food itself was great. Really enjoyed the beef skewer, fries and rice. The sauce was amazing so definitely will be coming back.

Delicious chicken and sauces! Definitely a must have if you haven't been. Would of liked the bread & good amount of sauces to also be complimentary when you order takeaway instead of eat in.

I grew up in Petersham ate Frangos regularly….but today i went to Smithfield it was the worst chicken I’ve ever eaten chicken was drier than the Simpson dessert, chips had no salt they were just tasteless and oily, the bean salad was the worst I’ve ever eaten and to top it off i wanted two chickens, half of one with chilli these tight arses wanted to charge me for 1. one chicken 2. a half chicken and 3. two quarter chicken instead of the price of two chickens This would never happen in Petersham never going there again only reason I’ve given a one star is because i couldn’t give a minus

Juicy and crunchy chicken, reasonably priced. Served in lightning quick time. If you wanna sit and eat, you need to book a table, they are always busy, which is actually a good thing. The serving size is massive and the pricing is reasonable. You have to try their chilli sauce. The staff are helpful and friendly. Will go back with friends!

Love the flavour, one of the best.<br/>Bought the whole chicken, and I’m happy with the flavour, right before it served, brushed by extra sauce.<br/>My chicken was a little overcooked in my opinion but it taste so good!

FRANGOS IS SO GOOD!!! Every single time I go, I am satisfied! <br/>The chicken is already fresh and the chips ARE THE BEST!<br/>Price is pretty good <br/>Usually around 15-20 with a drink.

Nice casual food. Portuguese peri sauce is delicious !<br/>We tried the burger , chips. The chorizo dish was really tasty. I wasn't a fan of the liver/giblet dish but the sauce was still tasty. I would go back to try the chicken next time!

If you haven’t been to Frangos, you’re doing it all wrong sweetie! Their sauce is what makes it here, the combo of mayo and piri piri chilli sauce is to die for! I personally come here for the chicken but I heard the burgers are great too. They bring out a load of bread with olives to start usually which minimises that wait for food. Recommend if you’re ever in Smithfield to visit the one there, have not been to the other franchises but I hope the food standards is uniform through all!

Burger and charcoal chicken lovers, this is the place for you. We just loved everything. Food quality and taste is great, service is fast and totally value for money. Frangos special burger with chilly is a must try ;)

Great chicken and sides! Super affordable too. Between 4, we get a whole chicken, tomato rice, fries and hand sliced potato chips. Free bread and unlimited sauces make for an amazing feed!

One of the best burgers I’ve had in sydney.<br/>The chilli sausage is the best.<br/>Its free if you eat in but costs like 4-5 bucks if you have take away which is a drag.<br/>Great chips too.

Solid chicken burger with a large serving of fries. Left here feeling stuffed! They give you the special frangos sauce on the side so you can use as much as you want.

I visited this take out / dine in restaurant with my mates. Being that it is on Horsley Drive, I thought that it may be empty and overrated… but man was I shocked. As you step in you just smell the beautiful protégées spices and charcoal and the restaurant was filled with different crowds. There were families, couples, friends and large groups.<br/><br/>One thing that was good to see, everyone that was paying and leaving was thanking the cashier for a delicious meal.<br/><br/>We ordered 3 burgers and the ¾ lamb skewer. Man oh man… WOW. This is my new favourite place. best burgers I have ever eaten and the skewer, we asked for a medium and we got a medium cooked to perfection. I’ve eaten at several restaurants that serve steak… all I can say is those chefs should come on an excursion and see how this place prepares and cooks the food.<br/><br/>I highly recommend this restaurant. Whether you are on a informal family outing, a date or a group of friends just wanting to grab a bite, do not pass this restaurant. This is one place you need to visit!

The chicken is very nice. The chilli sauce is just a little too salty for my liking so bring water with you. I don't get the mayo but my friends like it. The burger is nice too, filling for me. The greek salad tastes okay. The tabouli is hit and miss. My friend got the steak sandwich and enjoyed it.

It's literally a crime that I've lived in Smithfield my entire life and never had Frango's before. What was I doing. Charcoal chicken cravings are covered at this bustling family style eatery. The chicken was on point, and the chips and thin and covered in chicken salt. Decent prices and damn tasty. I'm going back for a burger next time!<br/>

Love the customer service and food there. Chips, chicken, rice and salads are always on point. Customer service is above and beyond. Can’t go wrong with unlimited sauce and chicken salt!

The saltiest and most disgusting chicken burger i ever had. It was a take away and i didnt bother going back and making a scene. Never going back.<br/>Also, the bun was too soft and full of steam and was breaking apart.<br/>There was a thick chunk of raw wheat at the bottom of the bun.

The chicken at Frango's is definitely a must to try. Great flavours and very tasty. We tried the chicken livers too and I must say they were very nice. Good value for the family, with choices of burgers, chicken, fries, delicious salads and more.

This restaurant has some really tasty food. The chicken, fries, burgers and salads are all really tasty. Their sauces are also delicious. The indoor atmosphere and ambience can be a little full on especially when the place is packed. Other than that it is definitely worth a try!

Heard about this place for years now<br/>Got the chicken and chips with the chilli sauce on side. Chicken was cooked very well and them chips are to die for with the sauce<br/>My partner got a hot burger and it was delicious. Don't know what to order next time as everything is so yummy. <br/>The staff were nice and the decor of this place is nice but the only thing is it so packed

Came here last Sunday and had the whole chicken and chips, as well as the 75 cm beef kebab on the skewer. The chicken was delicious and was cooked beautifully. The shoestring fries were so tasty. The beef kebab was really succulent and was medium rare just the way we wanted it to be. For dessert, we had the grandma's delight, which consisted of vanilla and ice-cream and was a great way to finish of our meal. The staff were friendly and attentive and the prices were reasonable too.<br/>

My impression: Hit and miss service and food.<br/><br/>I have been to Frango's multiple times, and personally I found them to be a little on the overrated side.<br/><br/>There service has been good on occasion and hopeless/crap on other occasions.<br/><br/>Their chips are nothing special, as were their salads and some sides. The place is on the cramped side and not in the best location in terms of parking/access.<br/><br/>For me, they are not a bad place, but I feel their service and food has gone down in standards. I feel sometimes places start to live off their hype or reputation and less on quality food. Also they can be a bit pricey depending on what you order.<br/><br/>I hate places with poor consistency and for me they fall under this category. It's like dating someone that is nice, but every now and then, they cheat on you....not a relationship I want to be in...enough said :/

You come here for 2 things. The chicken & the chilli mayo! Guaranteed a good feed at Frangos that won't break the bank and service is superb. <br/><br/>If you want a solid meal, this will not disappoint.

I affectionately call this place frangerbangs with my girlfriend and you can easily tell why amazing charcoal Portuguese chicken in chicken form or chicken burger form and the peri peperi sauce and mayonanernaise is fricken delish in the chicken or chicken burger (not in that order) I go here every week with my girlfriend and sometimes my other friends and we all like it but not as much as I do

OMG the best unlimited Chilli Mayo sauce ever! I love that it is in a squeezable bottle so that you can squeeze that creamy goodness over everything and not feel worried that your being judged for over consumption... i highly recommend the hand cut chips.. they are very popular so dont get upset if they tell you its sold out.

Overrated. <br/><br/>Dry chicken. Not very flavoursome. Chips were chips (shoestring). Nothing special. Decent price. Wouldn't come back again though

Best place for charcoal chicken. We usually get a whole chicken, tabouli and red rice. They have a range of salads to choose from. Quick and friendly service. Love coming here. Going to try the burgers next time.

Was in the area, never been to this business.<br/><br/>Ordered the 'Original Portuguese Burger' with chips and Greek salad.<br/><br/>Well the chips was great.<br/><br/>The burger was disappointing.<br/><br/>The salad had a dressing or oil that was poor quality, tasted industrial....yuk<br/><br/>The service was high quality.<br/><br/>The restaurant was packed, serious at about 1.30pm, nearly 20 groups some large. The atmosphere was full of talk and people enjoying themselves.<br/><br/>Would not return.

Really good chicken and peri peri sauce! Loved the little extras of olives and bread you get prior to the meal. I was a little disappointed with their spicy rice but their chicken is amazing!

This is truly LIFE. Frangos gives me reasons to live. I live by their half chicken combo. But BUT YOU MUST ORDER IT In the following : half chicken + half red rice + half chips + large chilli sauce + passion fruit drink. Then you go away and have an out of body experience. <br/><br/>WARNING : consequences of chilli sauce will be experienced the next day. You will come crawling back tho.<br/><br/>Service isn't the best at the Bella Vista store - they are awful... They lack customer service that tops off an experience at a restaurant. When you come to squeeze the chilli sauce on your meal they take it off you like it's their unborn child's soul. They refuse to give you more than a smidgen and give you judge eyes for even asking. So you order a tub anyway and they still act the same way lol. Disgusting behaviour especially one blonde middle aged lady her attitude should not be for front of house - she's the reason I refuse to go there and go to Smithfield one now.

Love it. Food is amazing, staff are incredibly friendly and provide the best service, cutlery plates and cups are clean. Absolutely love it! <br/>Must try: chicken, boiled rice and chips. Don't forget the chilli mayo type sauce they give you in the bottle!

Sooo happy they have opened our way!! The skewer and chicken is the must have!
