Great food good service and a view to die for. They let us sit outside with our little dog and even had a bowl of water for him.
Could not get a better position than the Beach Shack Sorrento...watch the ferry come and go, see the bay in all its splendour, feel the breeze and on top of that enjoy the food and drinks the place have to offer with great smiles from the waiters...love it there. Thanks, been there many times, and will be back.x GiGi of Blairgowrie
We eloped on the beach and came back here for our wedding dinner to accommodate 14people dressed in suits and a wedding dress, it was just what we wanted! It was absolutely fabulous, Staff were fantastic and food was on point!!!!!!!
Morgans is the same lovely restaurant in the great location with the water view but now it has brought in internationally acclaimed chef Paul Wilson and it shows. Fine dining with a causal feel. The freshest of seafood prepared with the passion of a master. Great food. Great service. GO!
Cumin slow cooked lamb with butter lettuce butter milk salad with a side of fries was excellent! Pork chop is great too. Steak frites was very tasty too There is more to this place than burgers and fries. Room to improve & embellish decor to match the the great dishes on the menu especially for evening dining. Fire place adds warmth to an otherwise lean fit out which talks to the more casual dishes offered! Pity! Keep & develop your FRENCH influence as it’s a potential stand alone for Sorrento. Congrats so far but keep going!
One of the nicest places I've been to in Sorrento. The staff are very friendly and the restaurant just has a great feel about it. I loved my Mexican food I had and I will certainly be going back.
My boyfriend and I celebrated our anniversary here and loved the views and the feeling of this place. Looking out onto the beach was perfect. And the food and service were also very good! Would recommend and will come back again!

Cool setting right across from the beach in busy sorrento so great spot for a bite to eat and a drink. The fish and chips we had was nice, nothing amazing but nice enough, I would definitely go back and try something else as it’s a great spot.
Tremendous location right on the beach. Walked straight in on a busy and got a table outside, nothing better that just sitting there with good company and a drink as the sun goes down. Was going to order the special Parma however they were sold out however the guy taking the order was really good and made up for it. Ended up with the chicken burger which I don’t usually have but it was spot on. Excellent soft bun, great sauce, cheese and two big fat pieces of chunky tenderloin chicken. Great burg great place.
Updated menu is great, we shared oysters, calamari, lobster rolls, soft shell crab tacos, lamb skewers, fish and chips as well as a lovely heirloom tomato salad between 4 of us and we all loved it. Plenty of outside seating right on the beach and a nice bottle of chardonnay made for a great night.
Recently renovated and I’m loving the feel and look. The burger was a stand out. Probably the best burger I’ve ever eaten. Oysters were fresh and tasty. Pimms cocktail was very refreshing. Really friendly service offering recommendations for other places to try. $55 with drink 1 person
My sister and I both had a day off and felt like taking a leisurely drive down to the beach. We had both been craving seafood and felt that it would be nice to eat said food in a beach town in the sunshine. Although there was a bit of a chill in the wind, it was truly beutiful and a highlight to sit outside with the views of the beach right next door. As someone who lives in the Melbourne suburbs, anytime I’m near the water it’s truly a wonderful feeling. I ordered the salmon, while my sister had a serve of calamari. The fish was spot on for both of us. I don’t think I’ve ever had such a lovely piece of crispy skinned salmon and wish I could cook it as well at home. Also a standout for this place was the staff. So incredibly friendly and clearly an asset to the place. The prices aren’t cheap, but are reasonable considering the calibre of the food. There is also a great assortment of quality alcoholic drinks and if I didn’t have to drive 1.5 hours home I would’ve had a great time. I have also been to the wine bar that is connected to this restaurant and that also was a great experience where I ended up tasting my now favourite red wine. Really great place. Would visit again and again.
I visited Morgan’s the other week while in Sorrento as heard it was under new management. Place looks incredible inside and plenty of tables in the sun or shade over looking the waterfront. I had the fish and chips and my partner had the fried chicken and the lobster roll. Lobster roll while small was worth every penny given then quality and freshness of the lobster. Fish was also so fresh and you can tell there is a focus on quality and freshness of ingredients rather than just pumping out orders with little care which can often happen in busy tourist spots. Added bonus was that they had Little Creatures Bright Ale on tap which went perfectly with my fish and chips. Service was friendly . I will be back to try the fried chicken burger when next in town.
Cute place! We ordered the snack nachos which the little tortillas were really crispy with really tasty cheese, i loved the flavouring with that. Also the prawn sliders were amazing, they should really make it bigger i couldn't stop eating it! Recommend to the people who are coming by to Sorrento
Good beach view, Average size delicious burgers but the price is rip off. Might worths to give it try once. Beer tastes good, staff were nice, generally happy had that experience for a day trip but next time will get fish and chips and seat at the beautiful beach and enjoy it!
Had lunch here, burgers were decently sized but a rip off for their price. We went here on a daytrip so it didn't really matter. Fried chicken burger was delicious and crispy.
Staff was friendly and the good weather allowed us to eat outside. Was happy with the overall experience.
Great food and excellent location. Lots of parking nearby. Chilli mussels are superb! Recommend sitting outside on a warm day to soak up the sun and views. lots of umbrellas for shade. :)
Expensive Delicious Habit.

A fun casual kind of place (no shoes or shirt required) that charges like a much fancier restaurant. Menu is burgers, tacos and fries. Stop in for a cocktail in the sun before heading off somewhere else for your meal I reckon!
Great, friendly place. Staff were lovely, especially Adam, who gave us some tips on places to go & things to see in Sorrento. Will be back again.
Had a great dinner here a few nights ago. Thank you for having so many gluten free / dairy free options on the menu!! The fish + chips was delicious - best fries in Vic!!
Staff were nice, Nachos were just usual Mexican nothing fancy and tasted ok. The Margherita drink was ok too! Atmosphere just casual takeaway style. Would go again.
28/06/16 When we arrived we were greeted by a very happy gentlemen who showed us to a table and gave us the run down on the menu and how to order. Food came out in good time although they were quite busy. We had the Beef burger, chicken burger and pulled pork burger. All were large and came with fries. Good burgers, good service.
Quick lunch, nice atmosphere, service was very friendly and the waiter chatted with us. Decent sized meals and tasted good.
Very nice view along the beachfront in Sorrento.
Came here on a warm Tuesday night. Venue was pretty full when we arrived. Tuesday they have some good specials with all burgers, nachos, enchiladas and some others $10. Sat outside which later turned out to be a bad idea with no cover outside because a big downpour of rain hit quickly. Luckily it was only that and light drops of rain followed. An umbrella is on the table which was good for the light rain. Onto ordering you need to order at the bar. Only a busy night they had one person working the bar taking food/drink orders and even answering the phone. Seemed a bit weird being such a busy night as the line to order when we went was building so I thought I'd order an extra beer (they had $5 coronas as well). My wife and I decided to go for burgers. I went for the pulled pork and she went for the beef burger. The waiting time from ordering to receiving food was over an hour, kind of understanding considering the special night but was really hungry by the time it came out. The pulled pork roll was delicious. Great flavour to it accompanied by French fries. My wife said she liked her burger as well. Had a try of her burger and to me tasted like a McDonald's burger which I don't mind. Overall was a good experience. 2 meals, 2 beers and a flavoured mineral water $35 was pretty good. The burgers are normally $22 each to me that's way too overpriced for what you get but seems to be the same price around the area.
Service - excellent: We were warmly welcomed as we walked in and quickly seated with menus and water.
Food - superb: We ordered a couple of sodas and two beef burgers. The salad ingredients were fresh and crunchy, complemented with melted american cheddar and that juicy beef patty which just hits the spot! As you can see from the image attached, it's a massive stack accompanied by crispy fries - the perfect lunch feed to keep you satisfied.
We'll be coming back again next time we're in the picturesque Sorrento!
This place is a welcome addition to the otherwise stupidly expensive and snobbish Sorrento. Nice staff (oddly - half were French) and the nachos were mental! Highly recommended. Great selection of beers, too. One small gripe - please reintroduce the pint glass :) otherwise, top place
Restaurant - Offers both indoor and outdoor seating with good views of beachfront. There's a kids corner. Dedicated children's seating area.
Food -
Mussel veracruz: Came with 2 slice of bread. Good size if you're not that hungry. Broth was light in color. Capers & olives had a very sudtle taste. A decent dish
Fish & Chips: You get the option of grilled or fried. Both came w french fries, tartare sauce, salad. Fish was well cooked. Portion was good.
Calamari salad: Big serving size for a salad. It was served on a bed of rocket. Lacking abit of dressing but that's where the lime came in handy. Calamari was cooked well
Since opening its doors in January last year, Morgan’s Beach Shack has swiftly established a firm following among locals and travellers alike. Led by seasoned hospitality veterans, Julian Gerner and Paul Olynyk, who also co-own the Royal Saxon in Richmond, the venue continues to be a hotspot for its fresh food, great atmosphere, live music and endless games of ping pong.
Deserves more than 40%!!!. Nice location and the calamari salad was brilliant. Staff very chatty with their customers. I would come back again.
Nice location, friendly service, ok food.. May have picked up it's game for summer. Had lunch. Service was friendly and food came out quick. Fish and chips looked good, calamari salad was tasty and the mussels were described as above average. They do a nice Pimm's. While not spectacular, it's got a nice view, it's away from crowds and would eat here again.
Just love this place, great food, great staff. Can't wait for summer!
Really great environment, very friendly and helpful staff. Great all year round food. Try the beer battered fish taco!!
After reading bad reviews was hesitant to go, however ended up having great food and drinks! fish tacos & lots of drinks. Really nice waitress - thanks for a great night!
Despite other reviews my partner and I both had very tasty meals at the Beach Shack. I ordered the tacos but was dissapointed at the small serving size. I was still hungry once I'd finished. However my partner ordered a burger which came with chips and was very full. The atmosphere and fit out of the place is great. We both enjoyed sitting near the beach. Would have to agree with others about the lack of good service. We went around lunch time on a week day when it was quite empty. The waitress rattled off her spiel about ordering at the bar in 2 seconds then left and the reception from the guy at the bar wasn't much better. We are not local but if we did ever go back we would probably try somewhere else.
Food delicious. Mussels and prawn tacos were highlights. Great fit out especially intermittent water misters on scorching hot day. Not big servings but you couldn't ask for more with million dollar views.
Great place. Really can't believe some of these reviews, and it is always suspicious when the reviewer has only written the one review before! And for those who think this place is over priced, well you really mustn't get out much.
We had the prawn tacos, the mussels and the rice pilaf and it was all very tasty and quite delicious, however I will say the chef may have been a little heavy handed with salt on the mussels.
The drinks were great and it's wonderful to see the return of the caraf.
The atmosphere and the views are great and it is an overall relaxed and very enjoyable experience.
As far as the service was concerned the staff were warm and efficient, a couple of the younger men behind the bar seemed a little frazzled, but the place is still in its very early days and it is very busy. They have nailed it fit out wise, which is an anomaly on the Peninsula and I hope others sit up and take notice.
Once a few of the kinks are ironed out, which will happened no doubt, this will be one of the best places in the area. Can't wait to get back to try the interesting breakfast menu.
