Some of the bad reviews and people saying 1 star here seem way off to me! Yes it’s a bit dear but your in a tourist spot, which happens to be sorrento of all places so expect it to be dear and sometimes in summer service can always be a bit off as the need to recruit people just to work a summer.
I thought this place was really good, cute setting in what I think is an old nursery, we were in and out in about 30mins so service was friendly and fast.
Eggs benny was really nice, the bacon was crunchy and some of the best i have had, smashed avo nice as well. Fresh juice nice and my coffee tester said it was probably one of the best had on the peninsula.

The Sisters is a lovely cafe that is currently underrated on Zomato. The cafe is sited in a beautiful garden setting with olive trees, herbs, veggies and various fruits growing in areas around the tables and chairs. It’s beautiful here on a mild sunny day like today. We liked the menu which had a number of enticing items. It was a close run thing with the soups and salads but in the end we both chose the the avocado smash with egg. It’s hard to get excited about such a standard brunch dish but the one they do here is wonderful. Its simplicity and overall flavour was striking. For starters, it’s a generous size. The avo they use is also top quality and best of all the feta they use is utterly delicious. The egg was done beautifully too and they use good quality sourdough. A couple of squeezes of the lemon wedge across the lot and the overall flavour of the dish is just terrific. A real surprise, but it’s the best avo smash I’ve had for several years, I reckon. Just a beauty. We mused for a while about how the dish could possibly be improved. It took a while but all we came up with was that a tiny bit more greenery might be useful.
The coffee here was pretty good too particularly my partner’s strong skinny flat white. She can get a bit snaky if the brew isn’t as strong as she likes. Hers was done superbly here making her very happy. 😃
Service was pleasant here making for a really good overall visit here. 😍😍 We liked the cafe immensely and will definitely return soon.
Delicious food prepared by the chef, good selection of drinks and fabulous coffee !! Nothing bad to say about any of the food. Loved the variety of sweet treats including my favourite Turkish delights. Staff were very friendly. Nice atmosphere with a courtyard and indoor section. Nothing bad to say !!
What's our no. 1 tip for the best experience at The Sisters Garden Cafe? Before we get to that, the Sisters Kitchen Garden Cafe was a great find along Sorrento’s Ocean Beach Road (149-151) and a very pleasant way to spend a sunny day. Very happy on cold grey day didn't need to leave the dogs outside. Thy were allowed to come inside cafe. They have blankets but the warmth of a heater is much better.
I chose chicken & vegetable pot pie that came with a lovely green salad and tomato chutney. Pastry was so good and inside was tasty. No dryness. Obviously heated in an oven not a microwave!

With a weekend away in beautiful Sorrento, a morning of delicious breakfast and coffee was in order. We had been to The Sisters Kitchen Garden Cafe years ago, so was keen to head back to see if they were still doing an amazing job. Located on the main shopping strip, it was a long weekend, so were optimistic with getting a table straight away. Surprising, we scored a table within minutes of walking in on a large communal table.
Every cafe in Sorrento seems to be jumping on the vanilla slice bandwagon, why not when you can charge $6-7 for it. We stopped in for coffee and picked up a vanilla slice to takeaway, both came to $11. The vanilla slice was sensational. The pastry was perfectly crispy at each layer. The custard was creamy and held together well, less sloppy than Just Fine Foods and a tad sweeter too. Lovely outdoor garden setting. There are some pretty shocking reviews here for dining in but our takeaway experience was good.

Food that tastes homemade with love, and pretty decent coffee; I recommend this place as a good introduction on a first visit to main Sorrento.
Had the vegetarian lasagna with salad and toasted ciabatta. I was a bit disappointed that it was just food from the display but the flavours were there and the salad was incredibly fresh as they grow their own vegetation. The cutlery and cups were a bit dirty. Overall it is a very earthy and homey cafe

I'm am absolutely shocked at these reviews! This place is a haven, it's crazy busy this time of year in Sorrento but we are meeted & greeted taken to our table & we order our food! Thinking it will be an hour wait- indicative of the lines out the door! Our food and coffees come out so mcih quicker than expected and look divine, coffees is great! And sat amongst the beautiful garden we didn't want to leave. The staff were friendly, attentive & if anyone were rude it were the other customers sat around us to the staff. Will be here again for or morning coffee fix. Can't wait.
I came here with 13 adults and 4 kids - the service was so fantastic! They were hugely accommodating and incredibly lovely. Can't wait to come back next time!
Great, friendly service and decent food (overpriced by Melbourne standards, but no worse than other places in Sorrento). The coffee is pretty dire, but they're using Genovese beans, which are pretty much impossible to wrest a decent cup from, so they're not so bad when you take that into account.
Our regular hang out when we are in Sorrento. Glad to see you guys managed to see through another busy period, we frequented over the Easter break, and you guys were CRAZY BUSY as usual for a long weekend. Everybody was pleasant, and was good to see some familiar faces working over the busy period with smiling friendly attitudes. Although the wait for food and coffee was longer than a non holiday weekend. What the heck, were on holiday with nowhere to be we relaxed and enjoyed the people watching. This is without a doubt the best place for food & coffee in Sorrento. We love the garden nursery surrounds & the family friendly atmosphere. Just polished off the smashed eggs with avocado ,which were divine !! An authentic Sorrento experience! Highly recommended!
It is always difficult to find somewhere to take visitors for lunch in sorrento - the choice is either between expensive & awful places or expensive & reasonably good laces. (We save the one cheap & good option as a local secret!) the sisters falls into the latter group - pretty pricey but food is nice. Only strange thing is that meals come out so far apart, it is like they have one microwave/hot plate to cook with. Even our drinks all came out 5 mins apart ea. nice setting, ok service. Best of an average bunch...
Not bad. Had lunch here during the labour day long weekend. I had the beef lasana which I thought was quite good - partner had an Asian Chicken wrap which was reasonably dry and seemed to be missing any kind of dressing just to give it that Asian feel. Service was great and there is a lovely garden to enjoy your meal.
Would give it another go and try some of the other interesting looking food they had in the glass display case
The gorgeous family running Sisters makes you feel right at home, and it's the only place on the Peninsula that makes GREAT coffee. Lloyd's boxed garden beds full of herbs, tomatoes and lettuce are fantastic (lots of ideas to copy...who knew you could train tomato vines like that!). Ps: the smashed eggs with avo, mint, yoghurt, hash brown and smoked salmon will defeat any starving 13 year old boy. Well done girls.
Breakfast. I went into the Sisters cafe a few weeks ago, I order poached eggs with bacon and avocado and it was delicious, they had added some yogurt or something to the avocado and it so good! I think I had the best coffee in Sorrento! I thought all the waitresses were very helpful and nice, recommending the beautiful berry cheesecake for afternoon tea! The only problem I had was that, one of the staff or the manager seemed very rude. She came out and started arguing with a customer nearby. Apart from that I thought it was great!
Lovely surroundings, nice fare but service left a bit to be desired. While we enjoyed our meals, the counter service was a little abrupt and they incorrectly served a dish we hadn't asked for. We asked a waiter for the cake we had ordered who said it would be on its way. We proceeded to wait for over 10mins and needed to ask another waiter. It was far from busy and as other people have mentioned, they must focus on service as well as product.
We enjoyed our lunch real organic chicken salad with honey carrots and currants and a salmon bagle, hmmmmm very nice, great coffee (quality). A gem on a place tucked away at the top end of sorrento, highly recommend lunching there, we know how bad the peninsula can be for food, but this place will not disappoint
Have been here a couple of times in the past week and I have to say it has improved considerably on customer service. Whilst it has lost a bit of the 'niceness' and fresh feel it originally had, it is one of the better places to come for a meal in Sorrento. My only issue was my meal was small for what I paid - scrambled eggs and spinach. I think they appear to be making a great effort to serve the public well under stressful conditions at peak season.

Wow! What an experience! We ordered scrambled eggs and a few sides.... It was a summery day and I had my dog. My dog Molly loved the atmosphere... I finished the breakfast off with my second latte as Molly was sunbaking. and I was served by a delightful girl named Alice. She was polite, well mannered and made sure I got a great coffee. I'll be back there tomorrow!
It's THAT busy because it's THAT good!. Every time I walk past this place it’s packed out, which can only mean one thing in my book! I finally got the chance to try it out this morning and I now see why it’s nearly impossible to get a table during the busy season, the place is fantastic! I sat among the veggie boxes in the sun and had my coffee (which was perfectly strong, just how I had asked for it.) My breakfast was also delicious, and we didn’t have to wait too long considering how busy it was. I will definitely be going back to The Sisters over the summer. Thanks!

The setting itself is very charming. A relaxed little courtyard off the Main Street. On a lovely day, it's a nice little sun trap to relax with brunch and a coffee.
Food was great - we both went for sourdough toast with eggs and sides. Great coffee. Service was ok but didn't make or break the day unlike what others say.
I will return next time I'm back in Sorrento. If you're a little pretentious and can't handle counter service then maybe go elsewhere ;-)
Coffee was fantastic and food was good! Most friendly staff I've ever been served by! Had a good chat with a couple of the staff members, really lovely girls! I think they said their names were tahlia and sharee.
Third time I have been back over a couple of years. Each time I and yhe people with me have been very happy with the meal. One of he few cages around that make all their own cakes, biscuits, tarts etc.... Our coffee was just as we ordered it. My French toast was the best I have ever eaten. Lavish servings of all the components of this meal were given. Service was what I expect of a cafe, helpful n courteous.
Great lunch at this lovely cafe today. I had the vegetable tart and my boyfriend and parents had the smoked salmon ciabatta. All were delicious and great portions. The staff were very friendly and the ambiance of the garden setting with home growing tomatoes and herbs was divine! We'll definitely be returning when we visit Sorrento again!
Fabulous brunch on our girls' weekend away. I had the French toast with berries and ice-cream - absolutely sensational!! My friends had the poached eggs on sourdough with the homegrown tomatoes and avocado - they seemed pleased with their choices. Coffee was great. Setting, styling and service spot on as well.
Cosy and Nice. A nice little place, surrounded with organic garden of herbs and veggies. The menu is nice and reasonably price with a decent serving. The quality of food is also very good with a combine of cold and hot food for order. Their coffee is one of the best in the area.
If you want a quiet breakfast/brunch, drop into The Sisters. I am sure you will lose time, chatting aways with friends.

A Good Egg. I was in the Sisters cafe over the xmas new years period for breakfast and found the poached eggs to be some of the best i have had equal to that of the slow cooked eggs at Golden Fields perfectly cooked and beautifully presented!saw the chefs picking fresh ingredients from the garden which i just love!They were very very busy and our food came out very quickly which is a big thumbs up to the kitchen!The only let down was first lining up for our food which took longer than our food to come and the way our waitress who was on the phone which i later found out was the manager slammed our plates on our table without a word we had no cutlery had to go get it ourselves!I was shopping in one of the neighbouring shops and mentioned our experience and was told that the service is notoriously bad!such a shame!If you like your poached eggs though its worth the trip just hope you don't get treated with such hostility!

Here's To You Mrs Robinson!. As locals we have been regulars at The Sisters ever since it opened and have experienced consistently good food and service. The venue and menu are second to no other cafe on the Mornington Peninsula. One of the best cafe's we have ever been to home and abroad. Staff are always relaxed and efficient making it an easy place to be as a customer.
The Cafe is owned and operated by the Robinson family who are all extremely friendly and personable. Each Robinson is so different and all add their own bit of magic to the cafe. Pippa, Marni & Kyrstin are the sisters behind "The Sisters". Kyrstin works her magic in the kitchen creating yummy fresh meals with a lot of local, organic & homegrown ingredients. You'll find ingredients on your plate that a moment before were growing in the garden crates decorating the venue! Can't get much fresher than that! Marni is the all rounder in between the floor and kitchen. And Pippa is the hostess with the mostess! You'll find their names on the menu wishing you a good time at their cafe/bar. You'll even see their parents lending a hand, their mum can often be found serving at tables chatting to customers and their dad pottering around doing a spot of gardening attending to the cafe's garden crates!
The Sisters offer a diverse breakfast and lunch menu with take away options for those days when you want to spend as much time as possible at the beach. They are now open some evenings as a bar serving an array of beverages and the best chips you will find on the Mornington Peninsula! True! They have table tennis and great DJ's creating the right kind of atmosphere for you, whether you feel like kicking back on one of their comfy lounges or cutting some moves on their dance floor. You will find hard working Pippa at the bar ready to work her magic 100% even after a long day at the cafe, wowza, how does she do it?! This girl is on fire!
The Sisters also do private functions. The real sisters older brother had his beautiful wedding at the cafe, you can check out some pictures on The Sisters Facebook page. We recently launched a small business and could think of no better venue to hold our launch at than The Sisters. Pippa worked with us tirelessly and no query or request was too big or small for her. We were constantly popping in to work out different aspects of our launch and she always made the time to assist us even though it was during the cafe's most busy time of year Summer when her and all her staff are literally run off their feet.
The canape's and beverages provided for our function were to die for and the presentation was first class. The entire aesthetic and ambience of the venue was the perfect backdrop to enhance our branding. The Sister's staff were fabulous in the set up of our function especially with the change over from cafe to events venue. Like the Robinson family each staff member had their own bit of magic to offer, with one staff member offering her artistic skills to the blackboard and flower arranging. All went above and beyond their call of duty which is a testament to the customer service standard set by The Sisters.
We cannot recommend The Sisters Kitchen Garden and Cafe highly enough! A must see and experience for all those either visiting or living on the Mornington Peninsula! We'll be back in soon!
Excellent chicken, roast vegetable & quinoa salad
Great coffee in a tranquil setting. This place is a wonderful find compared to all the other options along the strip. We sat on the big couch and enjoyed the pleasant surroundings. The coffee was fairly good and service was relaxed but efficient.
The vegie garden is a really unique idea and being amongst the plants took the edge off the suns rays.
After reading all the other reviews I can imagine that this place gets really busy during the peak times, so maybe go late afternoon. This would be far more intelligent than bitching about it on urban spoon... after all you are supposed to be on holidays relaxing not whinging!
This place is crazy stupid kind of busy, walked past at about 9 and there wasn't a table for about 20 minutes so decided to try our luck later in the day and were fortunate enough to get one under the grape vine- the perfect position plotted amongst the portable veggie patches. The display cabinet looked incredible, it was difficult to pick just one thing and leave room for the delectable delights, that is dessert that is all in house made. Settled for pumpkin and three cheese stuff pasta shells and as well as salmon, beetroot and quinoa salad! All these flavors were really inspiring. Just enough room for pistachio a d lemon biscuit and coffee. Yum yum yum, a must visit.
Food is quite pricey but portions are generous and food tastes delicious and quality. It's clear the kitchen thought about their menu as the wagyu ciabatta and lamb cous cous were hittin the flavour points in a very balanced way. My first Summer on the Mornington Peninsula and I love it, it is a buzzing beachside paradise. However, after dining at the Sisters kitchen garden cafe I must admit I'm shocked by how important people think they are. This is a beautiful cafe, with exceptionally great quality food, coffee and cakes. Our food took about 35 minutes which is nothing at this time if year, yet we were thoroughly disappointed by how fellow diners were rude and obnoxious to the staff and wanting their food at the speed of light. This is a cute, cosy garden like setting where things should be taken down a notch and people should learn to relax. Fast food in Sorrento (fish and chips) has a minimum wait of 45 minutes, so how people think that high quality food should be prepared and beautifully plated quicker baffled my husband and I. Thank you for a beautiful lunch of Israeli Cous Cous with lamb kofta's and a delicious chicken burger.

Loved it loved it loved it!!. My mother and I have been in everyday since we arrived in sweet Sorrento. We are from the UK and stumbled across this sensational little picture perfect paradise. A secret garden my mother called it. Each day we tried something different, the selection of both savoury and sweet is endless. To name a few, the Quinoa and smoked salmon salad or the zucchini flowers stuffed with three cheeses topped off by a local selection of great wines. Smooth coffee to end the meal accompanied by an english traditional Victoria Sponge and home made biscotti. We just loved it.
Great breakfast, beautifully fresh food and a great setting to enjoy it all in. Love that the chef came out to the kitchen garden to pick the ingredients before making our breakfast!

Amazing, wonderful, fantastic!. Went searching for a lovely cafe to eat at in Mornington that wasn't a tourist trap hell. Sisters Kitchen was perfect. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating with high chairs/chalkboards for the little one - food was great, lovely atmosphere, will definitely be back and definitely recommend. Pork belly & fennel ciabatta and crumbed chicken with asian slaw on turkish were beautiful.
Wonderful Week. For the school holidays we took the kids to Sorrento and came across The Sisters Cafe and wow, what a cafe!! For the rest of the week it was the place for our morning coffee (did i mention GREAT coffee) and freshly cooked muffins/ egg & bacon pies, the best i've ever had. While the kids enjoyed themselves running around outside amongst the veggie boxes and drawing on the massive black board. When we could leave the kids at home we visited the cafe for lunch and wasn't disappointed at all. There was alot of fresh food to pick from. The staff were very friendly and helpfully especially with our kids. Great place to take kids and cant wait to go back- Counting down for the next school holidays! Incredible. Great ambience, excellent service all staff were extremely attentive & our food and coffees came very quickly. The pork belly, apple & fennel ciabatta was just mouth watering and my girlfriend couldn't resist the delicious looking Sass's citrus cake & it was just as described- beautiful. This place is the best coffee in Sorrento but that doesn't mean they have to charge such a lot for food etc. the staff are quite rude and seem to get noticeably stressed out when they have to make more than 2 coffees! It depends on which day you go as to which staff u get etc. wierd place but the ambiance is good
Delightful Experience!!. The sisters kitchen garden cafe is absolutely charming. We love it there, the staff were very pleasant and met all of our needs. The food took the experience one step higher- it is so authentic and delicious. WONDERFUL - TWO THUMBS UP!. What a little slice of heaven! (...in what could be described as hell in the peak summer months). The Sisters Cafe is wonderful in every way a cafe could be wonderful...! I have read a lot of bad reviews on this site & what most people forget is at this time of year, Sorrento is full of rude, impatient & fussy pretentious city goers who come down & think they own the town. Food is amazing - garden fresh (hence the name & ambiance) & super tasty, yes there is a slight wait, but when there are people queuing for tables just to eat here it is to be expected & well worth the wait! Atmosphere is delightful & what Sorrento is all about - casual, relaxed & airy with friendly staff who are clearly doing their best to keep up with demand. I come here regularly & am always greeted with a friendly familiar smile. To wrap up; Food is consistently good & the staff are attentive & prompt. Well done guys... I will be back! ...And for those of you that won't, they are probably better off without you!

FANTASTIC!!!!. Absolutely loved this place! After spending three days looking for decent coffee in Sorrento, we finally found it...and it's here! The Sisters have it for you! We wanted to try it yesterday but they are closed on Wednesdays...so Thursday is upon us and the best coffee in Sorrento by far is to be had here.

Sunday perfection!. A group of mates and myself spent last Sunday morning at the Sisters, what a perfect way to wind down the weekend. The place is relaxed, and casual with fantastic food and attentive/ friendly staff. Sitting amoungst the strawberries and mint made us feel like we wanted to stay all day, topped off by the best coffee in Sorrento main street! If you're after silver service with your breaky I suggest you stay it Brighton. Take this place for what it is, a kitchen garden CAFE, and don't let self service water or grabbing a menu off the counter ruin your dining experience. I will definitely be back!
Coffee Obsessed. Easter weekend in Sorrento is almost as manic as Summer in Sorrento. But the staff at the Sisters Kitchen Garden and Cafe seem to have it under wraps, the food was divine, the selection of Organic juices and mineral waters was a nice change. The cake selection is mouth watering & the coffee, well I am coffee obsessed and Genovese do it best!! Seeing the staff pick the herbs and waddle back to the kitchen was a pleasant addition to our morning there. The children were able to run a muck and join other rugrats at the blackboard, it was a truly great experience for us.
Good food, good service for the Peninsula. It's hard to find many places on the Mornington Peninsula that do good food, service and coffee. Sisters over Easter showed they could do all 3 well which is a vast improvement on our previous experience. It is definitely worth going to now. The herb garden has grown and the ambience has improved. It's what Sorrento needed as most places at this end of the Peninsula don't know how to deliver any of these things well.

Summer Loving. Lets just say I LOVE it. It is everything Sorrento has been screaming for and it has finally arrived. Sure, at summer time like everywhere else it was crazy busy and why wouldn ́t it be, great food, great coffee, great scenery. It is the new kid on the block- stop watching your waches and enjoy the atmosphere, the sun, the smell of the garden herbs and the incredible food that eventualy comes BUT food that is defintely worth waiting for. The staff are friendly but flustered and hopefully this will come with time- cannot wait to see how far it hass come by next Summer.
Relax and enjoy,. The Sisters has a charming and warm team who have been passionate about their food and service from day one. Having dined there many times i have never had a single complaint. Food made with love and often fresh from the garden is hard to find elsewhere. A casual but stylish ambience and an impressive vegie garden make this cafe something special.
Eggsellent!. Honestly, this place is definitely worth the visit. My family and I visit the Cafe on a regular basis when we are in Sorrento which is most weekends. We were there almost every day over Summer for either breakfast, lunch or dinner. The tapaś menu was simple but satisfying. The coffee is great and there is always a great display of food that changes everyday. You must try the omelette, WOW.
Would never go back. Service was shocking not friendly... Asked for water and the water barked yep there's a jug and classes inside. Limited menu so didn't end up ordering breakfast, nothing sounded appetizing. Just got coffee and hot choc - warmish milk but with a bitter burnt taste, and with probably only half a shot of coffee. Not happy. Hot choc very bland and average. Would not recommend and was very disappointed because it's aesthetically appealing.
Good coffee and the best brekky around. Delicious eggs. We have also had groups in the evening, again, a great experience. No problems with the service always very friendly and a lovely place to sit, read the paper (provided). Enjoy, it's just what Sorrento needed.....from a local customer
Absolutely amazing new place. Exactly what Sorrento has needed for a long long long time. Fabulous food, great ambience and we just loved the nursery feel with the fresh herbs and vegetables all around. It is kid friendly which is a must for us! Defintely worth a visit.
