Review Millpoint Caffe Bookshop - South Perth

This cafe is absolutely gorgeous. Parking is just in and around the streets. Comfortable seats in the bookshop space great for meetings of 2-4 people. Outdoor space is shaded. You can take your pets & they get spoilt. Staff were friendly and food was quick.

This is the place to be when you're hungry, stuff very friendly and amazing location. Finally the best Italian coffee as well ♥️😘🇮🇹🇦🇺

Pretty good little spot in a nice location. Surprisingly quiet given the proximity to Mill Point Road. All day breakfast options and some other more substantial options as well. Nice bookshop to browse through. friendly staff and looks to be dog friendly in the courtyard.

Food was great, the owners are lovely, back yard is a nice setting for breakfast. Slight confusion over meals that came out but quickly resolved. Cakes looked delicious but we were too full so we will have to go back.

Little slow to take my order (due to it being so busy! Which is good for them!) but other than that such lovely staff and delicious food. Awesome garden dining for your doggo to join you 🥰 Will be back for sure!

Millpoint caffe bookshop was a great stop over, for breakfast/brunch! Their books are available for browsing before purchase, and they have a wide range available for most tastes. Food was great too, we had omelette of the day (with spinach and mushrooms), their eggs and avocado and the french toast. Enjoy!

Nice food and coffee cute little bookstore at the front. The breakfast bruchetta is very nice. Gluten free available and alternative milks. Decaf coffee really good

Unique little local. Simple food, well presented and served in a no fuss manner. Great value and a great "find".

Free wifi, inspiring books, and delicious weak long black coffee that hit the spot everytime. What's more to ask for?

The hotpot I had was delicious but $19 for a meal that's mostly bread seems expensive even if the toppings are more pricey. I wanted to buy dessert but I had spent more than $50 on my meal & a book I could have gotten cheaper elsewhere. If they had a meal & book deal of some kind, I would feel like it was better value for money. I'm not someone who usually spends $30+ on a book though.

Had breakfast but was sorely disappointed. Beans were fridge cold and were better after we sent them back. Toast was so small and extremely crisp, wondering if it was yesterday's bread. Asked for sourdough and was given multigrain. For the vego breakfast at $22 it was terrible value for money. After discussion with staff who had no reaction, we would not recommend this restaurant at all. It was good last year, can't understand why they seem to be running it down and why no big breakfast anymore??

Great place for breakfast. Dine with them couple of times and didn’t disappoint at all. They’re always packed but we’re lucky to get table. Food was good and atmosphere was great

Had breakfast here a few times. Even though the choices were limited compared to the last time I visited, The breakfast was still enjoyable. Very large servings and great value for money. The pics are from my first visit

I had the mushroom and egg and spinach breakfast, with a 1 person pot of Prana Chai. My other half had the Spinach Florentine. Being a fan of mushroom, the food part of mine was quite nice, with three different kinds of mushroom. My other half’s was nice. The tea was the big let down. Not able to drink caffeine these days, my standard hot drink is a chai. I think this chai, that I’m drinking as I’m typing, is one of the least chai chais that I have ever had. It tastes as bland as a tea bag tea one gets in a box at Coles. Disappointed.

Awesome food and good service, I loved the atmosphere. My meal came in under 5 mins. Would totally recommend this cafe. I ordered the haloumi salad with extra chicken and bacon.

Our lunch was fantastic. Everything was fresh and flavorful. The service was excellent - polite, cheerful, efficient. I would definitely recommend this cafe!!

There are few cafes in this part of Mill Point Rd so one associated with a bookshop is welcome.
I enjoy the stroll to the cafe but the coffee is simply overpriced.
Nice courtyard to sit in, or grab and go. There’s a small number of car bays out the back.

Great cafe! The food is spectacular. It is always well plated and presented, the food items are extremely fresh and full of flavour and the menu is really quirky. Their desserts are really interesting and amazing. I love that they have included a bookshop inside. This place also has a great atmosphere and customer service.

Great service but portions have gotten noticeably smaller compared to last year - for such a expensive price.

I had a birthday brunch here. Some of my friends had the hotpot with beans which, apparently, tastes exactly like Heinz baked beans. I got the mushroom on toast. For around $16, you only get one piece of toast. Portion was so small that we were all still left hungry.

Such a shame because they used to have good mushroom trio in toast. Don't think I'll be back anytime soon.
Reuben Black
ordered the mushroom trio with a cappuccino. although the meal was quite good, i found some of it was ready quite cold. also the outside seating area could definitely be improved in terms of design, it does look like it hasnt been changed for a good 20 years. including some more greenery, water features or incorporating funky bookshelves would definitely add to the character and experience of the seating. reasonably priced and service was average.

Went to MillPoint Caffè for breakfast on a Sunday morning. The Veg Breakfast was tasty and the coffee was good. Apart from the waitress making a few basic errors with our coffee orders, an overall pleasant experience.

Great food and location. Selection is good as is the presentation and flavours are great.
Add this to the ambience of the building and the choice of inside or outside dining it is good value.
Not to mention the range of books available to purchase 👍😁

Whoever who loves great coffee, brekkie, and books def has to go here. Don't underestimate its humble little purple exterior. The intimate ambience allowed us to chat with each other comfortably, and the quality of the food and service were top notch. Love this place!
Megan Richards
Love it here at the book cafe. Great food and friendly service, we had a mix up in orders but they fixed it with a smile. Only downside would be wait time but it's absolutely worth it and understandable being so popular and producing such high quality dishes.

Latte met my 'coffee snob standard.
Cute little place with good menu and like the bookshop space.
Good location for a river walk after meal.
Big breakfast was huge and satisfactory. Scrambled eggs were tasty, though I like my bacon a little crispier and beans with a bit more favour.
Truth Be Told Australia
Arrived for a Sunday breakfast at 0745am but the hours have changed to 8am, but decided to wait anyway. We sat by the heater in the cute courtyard. Could not help but notice all the fans above you are so dirty and full of dust 🤢.. the 1 unisex toilet too was unusual for a cafe that size too. besides that all ok. He had the hot pot and enjoyed it, eggs a tad overdone, I had the BAE , and really liked it especially the bread . Coffee was good .

Food looked much better than what it tasted. Not very friendly customer service. Coffee was great though. Not a lot of parking was available.
It was a very cold morning and the majority of seating was outside with no form of heading g available.
Blubarb
Three tables reserved just in the top area when we got there at 11:30 and those tables were still unused when we left just shortly before 2pm. Lots of potential customers left angered as they couldn't find seating while waiting they stared at tables sat empty under reservation. Very strange.
We enjoyed the books and atmosphere. Nice food and vibrant. A very busy place so make sure you book before hand. The only thing is we hope the menu can be expanded to include some soups which would be nice for a winter morning.

I've driven past countless times and frequented Ciao Italia directly across the road but never have I thought of checking them out. That was until a friend of mine suggested to grab a bite. Parking is relatively easy for this humble cafe. There's nothing pretentious on the menu either. You also get to choose to dine at the alfresco area or bury your head in books inside the bookshop.
Samantha Lean
An enjoyable breakfast with friends...casual and relaxed but as i read in another review it seemed a little odd to see empty reserved tables while there were people standing around waiting for tables (Not us though)
Magdalene
Great service, amazing food. Wide range of meals from breakfast to lunch and they also have a section of little cakes and treats for those not wanting a proper meal. Cute and lovely little cafe tucked away with a bookshop. Definitely recommend to anyone and everyone!

Coffee was nice. I ordered the mushrooms risotto which was good. Steak sandwich was. A bit of a let down but still ok. Will order the risotto again for sure.

I cannot fault the food or the service, but the problem we had was seating. They oddly allow the reservation of tables. We arrived at 11am and there were a big number of vacant tables but these all had reserved (with a time on them and mostly around 11:30 -12:30, etc). So a number of us wanting to spend more time than a ½ hour or so we're waiting around for people to leave while all these tables stayed empty. We finally managed to get a table in 10min and after a few minutes a staff member placed a reserve notice on the table giving us 20 minutes before we would be moved on. I can't see how vacant/reserved tables is good for business. Anyway I think it's quite rude because our custom was just as important but the reservation system seemed to take precedence. Really needs to be sorted.

A regular weekend breakfast haunt, casual relaxed dining, just like sitting in your own back yard. The big breakfast is just that, big!! Coffee is on point, most of the time, and the seeded rye bread uber tasty!!!! Only bad thing is that you may arrive to find lots of tables vacant with reserved signs hence not many places to sit.
Foodieperth
I thought the french toast here was amazing!! It was topped with vanilla mascapone which offered great contrast to the tart berries. The only downside was the french toast wasn't soft enough but that's just how I like my french toast!
Lisamareeblogs
Reliable coffee and food in a great bookshop.
Fruit salad is nice! Coffee is good and hot. Prices average for Perth in suburban South Perth
Sybarite
Lovely service, doggy friendly, menu options to satisfy everyone, large portions, gas heaters cranking outside. What's not to love. Minor points bringing the rating down from a 5 - drinks took quite a while, no offering for an incorrect order being brought out, having to ask for water for the table. That aside, would definitely come back. The french toast was sensational - not too soggy from toppings or egg, even a bit chewy. Not sure if that's a good thing or not but I loved it. The mascarpone was DELISH. Perfect toppings to toast ratio. Oh and the chai latte (soy). 5 star - perfectly frothy/creamy. The boys couldn't finish their big breakfast! Looking forward to next time.

Lunch today was great. Service was quick and friendly, we enjoyed sitting in the outdoor area. My partner had the sweet potato salad, minus the feta but with added smoked salmon and really enjoyed it. I had a bit too and the flavours were really nicely balanced. I had the Spanish potted eggs - two eggs oven baked with chorizo slices, cheese and a salsa, with sliced ciabatta on the side. It came out piping hot from the oven! Tasted good, although I would have liked to have had the option of butter on the toast. We both had the "Replenish" juice: pineapple, watermelon, lemon and ginger (from memory) which was light and tasty. We followed up with a cheeky dessert and coffees - apple crumble and long black for him, and salted caramel cheesecake and flat white for me. Everything was tasty and we enjoyed our visit. The bookshop at the front was nice to browse in after our meal too.
The Urban Bento
It was hard to get a seat for Friday lunch. What we didn't realise is that you can make table reservations here. Not sure how well it works as quite a few of the tables were past their reservation times or were for earlier in the day and the signs not removed. Menu items are pretty run-of-the-mill and everyone thought the food was reasonable. Service was lovely though!
Nope
Great cafe for a catch up with friends - parking is relatively easy on a weekday, lovely decor of a fully functioning bookshop setting and cheerful workers. Fine for a low key delicious baked goodie or light lunch. Somewhat haphazard service, one meal came out 5 mins after others, no knife but can be overlooked due to the overall pleasant experience.

Lovely place that serves great brunch for such an affordable and good price, the French toast had lovely texture and I thought that it was served with icecream, however it's not but its served with a lovely fresh cream that's full of flavour and great temperature, the fairy floss topped off the dish with its great flavour, the only flaw was the bread drowning in the berry compote, which was kind of sour and made the dish soggy
The Spanish pot was delicious and had such a great serving for the price paid, delicious and full of flavour
Overall this place was amazing and food is served quickly, price is affordable and comes in a good portion for what you have paid for
However when we first walked in we were asked if we had booked a table? First time hearing that you need to reserve a table for brunch, but I got a seat so I ain't complaining, make sure to give this place a ring and reserve your seat if you're not determined to wait due to the great popularity of this place!

Took 35mins for food, requested money back twice before it arrived as we had to be at work, they ignored us and Brought food out with plastic containers and expected us to take it away and also shovel it in ourselves in the middle of the garden area to the shock of many other customers, we refused and again asked for money back. They refused and lied about the amount of time it actually took. Will never eat there ever again nor will anyone we know
Joe
I really wanted to like this place :( good ambience, great serving size and it was just a nice place for brunch.

But my meal was a bit of a disappointment. The scrambled egg was no way near that creamy to-die-for egg, it was way overcooked and dry. And the ciabatta toast... One bite and im sure everyone knows that 'fridge taste'??? Or was it prob just old piece of bread?

Maybe i was just unlucky?? Everybody else seemed to enjoy their meals!
THE ILLUSIVE FEMME
Another gorgeous brunch spot in the South Perth area. I love this place, probably because it's a book shop as well as a cafe. Two of my favourite things in one spot - food and stories! The brunch menu is well thought out with the usuals plus fun options. I've dined here on many occasions and have tried about half the menu, but stand out dishes include the Chèvre Eggs, which is super creamy and some of the best scrambled eggs I've tried, the traditional Eggs Benedict and the Mushroom Trio which was on the menu for ages then disappeared and needs to come back! Staff are nice and coffee is strong.

Years ago, when we lived in the Millpoint area, I used to walk my firstborn down to this cafe in her pram. She'd sleep while I had a coffee and read a book in the warm lounge area. More often than not, I'd leave with a new release in a brown paper bag, ready to devour during her next nap time.
Fast forward 13yrs, and Millpoint is still well and truly kicking along although that original groovy cafe with its homely feel and friendly bookshop staff who were only too keen to recommend a read or chat about all things literary, has been replaced by a much noisier vibe and much younger bookshop staff who don't really seem to want to get involved with customers.
I brought my now teen daughter here for breaky today and while it wasn't awful, the cafe just didn't hit the same sweet spots it used to. For starters, the old comfy lounge area is now overrun with tables -- great if your main purpose is a catchup with friends or your book club, but not so good if you prefer to hide from the world with a book on a rainy day. And the kitchen is much noisier too, with extrovert counter staff being a little too loud for breaky time. Service is friendly and fast, but just OTT loud.
Food-wise, we were each after a fairly basic breaky -- she wanted poached eggs and bacon on gluten-free toast; I ordered the gourmet chèvre eggs (scrambled eggs with goats cheese and chives) on gluten free toast as well.
The poached egg yolks were almost cooked through -- too much for our liking. The scrambled eggs were nice but the serve was way too big (I'm guessing 3-4 eggs). I question the presence of any goats cheese in it, and while I could see green bits, it also didn't taste very chivey.
My pet hate with gluten free bread is when cafes charge a premium for it and then end up serving supermarket-bought Country Life which is fine for breaky at home but a real downer when you're paying $15.50 for an egg dish. It's a cheats way out of catering to a growing section of diners, and I think Millpoint would do miles better if it went the extra mile and ordered Strange Grains or Gala Bakery gluten-free breads like some of Perth's fancier cafes do.
We also ordered drinks -- my skinny capp was much too milky for my taste, with the thinnest layer of "foam". Not a well-made drink at all.
My teen ordered a chocolate chai -- never heard of it before but she was willing to give it a shot. Sadly, it missed the mark too, with the Mork chocolate powder fighting with the house-infused chai on the palate. The result was a mish-mash of flavours, with neither dominating but instead, combining to create a mediocre nothing of a drink.
Millpoint Caffe Bookshop has clearly changed owners since the days when I would go down there for a quiet cuppa. For me, the average food and loud service are no longer a winner.
For The Love Of Food
Love this cafe. Excellent for meeting people or an impromptu breakfast. Thankfully there was no trouble getting a table on a Sunday morning, although normally pretty busy so would advise booking. Their breakfast menu is extensive, so plenty of choices for whatever you're in the mood for! Their prices are very reasonable, however I ordered the eggs Benedict for the first time and whilst it was delicious, (perfectly cooked eggs, crusty bread, nice hollandaise sauce), it is a bit pricey - $16.70, for the size it is, in comparison to other items on the menu like the mushrooms on toast which is also a favourite. The staff are very friendly and accommodating and quick with drinks. It's a really lovely relaxing atmosphere sitting outside. Also plenty of parking in the area near the river.

French toast topped with mixed berry compote, lemon and vanilla marscapone and persian fairy floss. $14.50. I love everything about Millpoint Caffe; I love that they take reservations, I love that you can eat amongst the books, and I love that you can rely on them for a pleasant dining experience no matter what time of the week you visit. There is no hipster vibe or quirky decor here; just good old-fashioned, family-friendly food and service. The flavours in my french toast were perfectly balanced and the serving size was massive… $14.50 very well spent!
The Breakfast Confidential
I’ve reviewed a cafe in a travel agency but what about a cafe in a bookshop? Or is it a bookshop in a cafe? Either way, MillPoint Caffe Bookshop is inspired. I love browsing books and taking note of what I will read next or what I could give as a gift to a friend. With the increase of people reading e-books, shops like this are sadly becoming few and far between. What a great way to get people in – combining the favourite weekend meal of Perthites with stories waiting to be discovered.

Quaint cosy with beautiful food to offer.
Went here a while ago but forgot to review! (Can you imagine)
There was a bit of confusion about seating when we first arrived, weather we would be shown to a table or not and were left standing awkwardly by the counter.
Once the food came I was pleased with the serving size. Only flaw was the scrambled eggs were too dry for me and were overpowered with the cheese.
Eddoism
Interesting place to visit for a casual breaky, brunch or lunch. I went here for breakfast with 2 other friends. Drinks came out quickly but food was a bit slow. Eggs were cooked well. Can't fault them. Would come back again

Have been here for breakfast, lunch and coffees. This is such a great idea for a cafe, the outdoor area is beautiful. The food is fresh and well executed, the coffee is good! What more could you want.

The 1st time I came to this little cafe it instantly became my favourite!! Food is delicious, staff are so lovely & friendly, I love the little bookstore & when we're ready to leave a stroll along the river is the perfect finishing touch!

This cafe is the reason i fell in love with cafes. Ordered the spanish pot and french toast. The spanish pot is so good for its price and so filling. Generous serving of chorizo sausage and beans with crunchy bread and thick warm sauce. The french toast is for the sweet tooth people. The vanilla mascarpone literally melts in your mouth and the persian fairy floss is divine. The berry compote complements the sweet mascarpone and fairy floss so its such a great dish!
Sam
Reliable cafe with very friendly staff! Been there more than 5 times and really liked it :) the smoothies are really good, and the red latte as well!
Hangry Hippo
Awesome experience as always..a hidden treasure that will not disappoint..food excellent and coffee to match..if you are looking for somewhere for breakfast this is your place..
I.live.to.eat
eggs benedict - almost $17, half a piece of bread. asked if this is how it normally comes and was told it depends on size of the bread (????!!). butter came in the form of oil. oh, and milkshake had piece of hair in it as well. they were nice enough to replace the milkshake and give us another half slice of bread (so that came to one whole slice yay!) for the benedict, but come on.

I'm not a regular at the MillPoint Caffé Bookshop however I come here from time to time mainly due to how close it is to my house. It's always a refreshing experience walking into the bookshop, it has a relaxing atmosphere and feels very warming, the outside area is also quite nice and is a great place to eat/drink. My girlfriend and I shared a chocolate cake and two iced chocolates. The food is unfortunately not the nicest I have eaten, it is very tasty but lacks some of the flavour you get at other cafes. The drinks are also not always the best. The milkshakes are often fantastic however the iced chocolate is weak, although is presented very nicely. The prices are pretty average with other cafes however I find that the serving size and presentation at the MillPoint Bookshop makes it better value. In summary it's a great place to go for a bit of "time out" it has a fantastic atmosphere and the staff are really friendly and helpful, the food and drinks are pretty good but don't expect the best you've ever had.
Bite Into It
This place is quite spacious. As soon as we came in we found a place to sit, lucky as there were a lot of tables that had reservations.
This would be the first time that I quite enjoyed a red latte! I could have gone for a second one, was that good. Also ordered the French Toast, and I was worried that it would have been sweet considering that it had berries and fairy floss but it was quite enjoyable.
EatingPerth
Eat here. Food is good. Ambiance is charming. You'll feel like you're in a private garden with a very cool book store fronting the road. We liked the yummy dishes and pretty plants.
Interesting
Have been here for breakfast a few times now coffee is lovely food fantastic the veggie breakie is yummy make sure you bring your appetite. Look forward to our next meal here.

We have been thinking for a while to visit this Cafe/ Bookshop and we finally decided to have breakfast there after I have finished my City to Surf race. So, the food was good - it did not have a WOW factor, as well as, portions were small for the price you are paying. Customer service- disappointing not so helpful in finding customers a table, the atmosphere is pretty much 'you pick where you want to sit'. Also, wait staff did not bring us tap water and when we politely asked her about it she told us to get it ourselves as it was on a table near the counter. So I was disappointed with customer service as I thought that they might do a bit more for the customers.

However, the reason I am scoring this place low is because of their shocking toilets. In short- it is unisex, dirty and an outside toilet. They seriously need to upgrade their toilet. I almost got stuck there because the doors wouldn't open properly so I had to push them pretty hard.

Overall, average food and I have definitely expected more from this place. I might come back there for another breakfast but I will make sure in advance I use my toilet facilities prior to going there.
Jessica Snelling
One of my local cafes and I love going here! The coffee and food is always good especially the french toast!! It is busy but the fires in winter make it all worth while!
Eroshaforevereating
Been meaning to try this place for a while now and finally got around to it on the weekend. Quick side note: Always try to book before going for breakfast as it gets really busy!! We were lucky enough to get a table though as a couple had just left. The staff were also really nice about the whole situation and didn't make us feel unwelcome or a trouble at all.

Ordered the Sautéed Mushrooms with goats cheese, mixed greens and a poached egg on top of rye toast for the main dish. Though this was delicious and great if you are looking for a slightly healthier option the only thing I would say against this dish is that the serving size isn't huge. Also decided to try the French Toast with mixed berries, lemon and vanilla mascarpone cheese topped with Persian fairy floss. Now as this was something I was highly looking forward to, I honestly have to say that I was slightly disappointed. As a huge sweet tooth, the lack of sweetness was a bit strange and slightly saddening. Though overall yummy and something I would definitely recommend to try at least once, it was sadly nothing amazing.
Overall though this place won me over with its atmosphere, vibe and service. A really nice place to meet for breakfast/brunch on those lazy sunny weekends 😊

Love this place! I've been way too many times to describe each experience, but highly recommend the eggs benedict. Would've rated 4.5, but my friend's Spanish eggs was VERY watery last visit.
Lady Marmalade
Edited 10.12.2017, last 2 visits have been disappointing. Rude staff with one giving us a recommendation (a few weeks ago) to another cafe in Shelley. Today the service was slow and food boring. The cafe was 1/3 full. My husbands Eggs Bennedict looked so unappetising. They say there have been changes but none on the menu, they just removed some items. I ordered a Zing juice, just tasted like orange juice and bitter too. Changed my rating down to a 2 from a 4. Here is my previous review ......Always a first choice for breakfast or lunch. Generous serves and well priced. My favorite is eggs Benedict with smoked salmon for breakfast and the ploughmans for lunch. Kids love the pancakes. Service can be hit and miss, but is a great place to sit back, stay for ages and chat with a friend and enjoy the coffee which is lovely. Bookshop is ok, not a huge variety and not a high turnover of some categories. Would love to see a better variety of cookbooks and home design books there.
Crazy Cat Lady
Originally i was going to give a 4 rating but I changed my mind due to customer service. After we had finished our food a blonde waitress with lots of colours in her hair cleaned our plates but never asked if we were done. So she took my unfinished smoothie away, also it's not hard to ask how someone's food was even if you don't care how it actually went. Customer service goes a long way but the Asian girl who served us at the counter was really nice and friendly.

Okay now for the food! I ordered the Spanish pot, it was really tasty but I was abit dissapointed that my eggs were abit rubbery, my egg yolk was half cooked through and I had to search for my choriZo. The French toast was really good as they weren't too heavy and paired really well with the toppings. The poached eggs were cooked perfectly with the eggs nice and oozy 😋. Coffee was okay but the espresso smoothie was really tasty so I'd reccomend that to try.
LittleGirlBigFood
The scrambled eggs here are divine. And I don't like eggs. So there you go. Grab a book - I suggest buying it - and grab some coffee and breakfast and away you go!
Jess.a.boyce
Delicious food and good service. Traditional breakfast food with a twist. The French toast with fairy floss was delicious and the French toast done well, nice a light.
Sugarbutterflour
Nice little place in canning highway :) the baked egg and the french toast were really good.. Had the juice, pricey but refreshing.. Coffee was good too!
Michelle
This place has a good selection of food and beverages. It's a lovely place to spend a few hours with friends, especially if you enjoy browsing through books.
Stuffyaface
Visited the book shop for coffee and cake on the weekend. It was 3pm so out of peak time and still a few people there. The courtyard is a sufficient size and the lady who served me was very friendly. Small cabinet of cakes to choose from. Ordered 2 coffees and 1 sticky date for $14 not too bad. Coffee was great but no cake came out, after we had almost finished coffee I asked where it was (think they forgot) it was lovely when we got it. We will return for breakfast. It's in the entertainment book too
TheGreedyPair
Had a lovely breakfast here with my boyfriend and his parents. Wasn't feeling too hungry so I decided on the fruit salad, all the fruits were nice and fresh. I also got a banana smoothie and it was perfect. After our food we enjoyed spending some time looking at through the bookshop.

One of my favourite spots for breakfast. Great detox juice!!
Ohara
Sunday Brunch. Breakfast was good but don't be in a hurry as we waited 45 mins.
Cassie
The trio of mushrooms was delicious! I liked the combination of the three different types of mushrooms and both wilted spinach and kailan served with poached egg on toast.
Sydaby942
Good, friendly service, standard brekkie menu, food was excellent, great presentation. Good coffee

Service was good but the beef burger was tasteless. Very disappointed.

Good!. Food is so good and pretty good pricing- but pleeeeease make your ice chai stronger! Tasted like nothing but milk which was a disappointment, but everything else was great!

Coming back for more. My bf ordered prawn rigatoni pasta and I ordered the spanish pot. The pasta was by far the BEST I have ever eaten so far in Perth! its tooo goood!!! The spanish pasta I had was pretty good as well but I was hooked on the pasta more. the desserts was good too, salted caramel cheesecake was jus prefect! overall this place is amazing!

Everything on point.. The cafe is just beautiful, partially a bookshop and with another corner outside one can have preferences which I reckon is always nice to have (if the place is not full already); the staff are very friendly, but not just them.. even the granny my friends and I sat next to was a joy to talk to. Haha! Maybe she worked in the bookshop.
Everything tasted amazing and looked great (10/10 presentation!) Would love to come back!!!

Can't ask for more. Coffee food books simple and nice, set in a beautiful neighbourhood. Easily captivates
The Greedy Chupster
Not bad. Been here a few times already.... food and coffees are generally consistent... no real complaints... not to expensive and service is good.....relaxing atmosphere......parking is limited but available in the side streets if the car park is full......

The Greedy Chupster signing out!
Food 2 Run
Friday Lunch and was just perfect really busy for a Friday, a little wait for a table enough time to buy a couple of books and speak with the beautiful lady who served me, also some good advice on the next books to buy...I had the steak sandwich and have to say one of the best I have had and at a great price... Service from the time I walked in to out just perfect 10/10...a must try and also in the entertainment book...so great value.

-----06 Sep, 2014-----

Great love it. This place is magic, bookshop, coffee service can't fault it... Good start to the day after a run around the river...

Brunch spot. Cute and comfortable place for brunch! Been here a few times, food and coffee are nice, the trio mushroom is really good, but my french toast was cold when it came, the fairy floss and the mascarpone works well with the toast. the mint juice was really refreshing! Waited for about 20 minutes for the food but it was busy so it is understandable :)

I have been here a couple times now. Service on my first visit was satisfactory. Today is awful. Apparently when it is busy, management lacks. Was not acknowledged while waiting at the counter and for some reason our number was changed at our table while we were waiting, leading to our drinks ending up at a different table.
However, is a lovely looking cafe. Best visited on quieter days though.

A great Sunday brunch. Had a 12pm breaky/lunch with 4 friends this past Sunday and it was my first time to the Caffe. We were lucky enough to get a table in the alfresco and must say everyone thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon. Our meals and everyone else's coming out for that matter, looked fantastic and tasty. We enjoyed it so much we decided to stick around for desserts. Affordable, quiet, Sunday caffe and would recommend.

No almond milk option :( Food was nice enough (scrambled eggs, tomatoe and mushrooms), coffee good, setting pleasant. I would return but hope almond milk becomes an available.

Had lunch today at the millpoint caffe and bookshop. LOVE the concept of bookshop and cafe. Its a very well hidden secret though, was very hard to find it and then find parking. The atmosphere was really good, cosy but comfortable. The service was energetic but floor service was lacking. Could improve. The food is delicious!!! Must try the spanish pot very cheesy YUM! or the fairyfloss french toast abit sour but its a treat.
Deffinatley a hidden gem. Recommend

Relaxing family friendly brunch spot!. Went out brunch with mum and hubby on a beautiful Sunday and we managed to find a nice corner table at the alfresco. It was mum's first and she absolutely loves the bookshop & cafe idea! Mum had the eggs benedict, hubby tried out the Spanish pot and I had their trio sauteed mushrooms. Foods arrived shortly after the drinks although the cafe was fullhouse. We mopped up everything on our plate. My mushy breakfast choice was fantastic. I love the garlicky mushroom mix and they go so well with the soft poached egg and toasted rye! Definitely planning for our next return soon.

Delicious coffee, great selection of gluten and dairy free treats. Lovely atmosphere

Cute lunch spot. Four of ventured here for lunch on a Monday as one in the party recommended it. The atmosphere of the cafe was great. Plenty to browse through while you wait.
All of the dishes we ordered were delicious and good value. The prawn salad was very generous with the prawns.
We followed up with coffee which was very good. The food was obviously home made and thoughtfully prepared.
The staff were friendly and willing to accommodate our requests and the service was prompt.
Will definitely return and would recommend.

Home from home. Knowledgeable staff, fantastic coffee, a relaxed and homely environment to either browse the books or catch up with friends.

Great Food Great Venue. We went midweek for breakfast and had the Spanish Pot (baked eggs with beans and chorizo) which was excellent and the Eggs Benedict which was declared the best ever. There was a wait which seemed over long but it was worth it. The coffee was nice but not hot enough.

What a delight! I give it 5 stars. After following 'breakfastinperth' on instagram and seeing the Persian Fairy Floss on French Toast I just had to try it for myself.

So on a hot Sunday morning my husband and I drove to MillPoint Cafe. A cafe always gets a gold star from me if I get to walk through a book store so already I was feeling good about this place.

I ordered the French Toast while my husband ordered the Millpoint Pot which consisted of eggs, chorizo, beans and cheese (refer pic attached). We also indulged in the usual tea and coffees.

As with most cafes we ordered at the counter and the waitress advised as that it would be a 25 minute wait on food. Some may think this a long wait for cafe food but honestly I was as happy as a peach because they were courteous enough to tell us. I really do appreciate being kept informed so that then we can sit back and relax.

Whilst waiting for the food they brought our beverages out. I also noticed how diligent the staff were. Fantastic service. I could see they weren't busy chatting to one another but were doing their jobs and doing it positively, always with a smile.

When the meals arrived I was awed by their presentation. Oh they looked scrumptious and indeed they were. I loved the French Toast but I ended up having a bit of order envy over my husband's dish. I also looked at the other food being brought out of the kitchen and it all looked delicious!

I loved this place so much that I am already booking in dates to go again with friends and family!

To top it all off I was in such a good mood after the food that I bought myself a book!

Fantastic food and excellent service. I will be back MillPoint!

Old Perth Service Standards. Went for lunch today, substandard service. Clearly flustered staff member but so unhelpful. On the menu they have a sandwhich with ham, tomato cheese , lettuce - but heaven forbid you ask for just ham and tomato?? Apparently the kitchen doesn't like it when the orders are changed??? This is old Perth service standards guys and then to wait nearly an hour for said sandwich with more surly service. No thanks, won't return which is a shame as I used to enjoy it here. New management in the cafe? Oh, and the bookshop itself was overrun with flies.

Gave us the runs.... Ate here for lunch today and both of us ended up with diarrhoea within the hour. Will definitely not be back.

Not very good!. Came here on a whim. Should have turned back, coffee and food was mediocre. Never again! Stick to tuck shop cafe!

Relaxed atmosphere and really good food. Food took a little while to come out (maybe because I had the baked eggs) but it was worth the wait. Wife had the vego breakfast which she was very happy with. We'll definitely be back.

Kids loved the pancake stack with strawberries and blueberries and French toast. Forgot to ask if they do kids portions so adults scoffed some too! Great food and service - we will be back for sure.

Not going back. I used to come here every weekend for a facebook meet-up, we always got shoved in the corner next to a book club full of noisy old ladies cackling like hens and talking so loud. I could not stand the noise and it was too small in there and the table wasn't big enough for all of us.lemon meringue pies were ok I guess, carrot cakes were underwhelming though I'd order extra to take home for my sister. coffee was awful, always ordered lukewarm and got it piping hot and they did not add the sugar to it like I asked, I had to do it myself. not worth going back in my opinion. only thing it had going for it was nice staff and a toilet.

It was a pleasant brunch we had but it was nothing to shout about. The mill point burger was alright, and big breakfast was just good just that our sunny side up egg was slightly over cook as my boyfriend and I are very particular with it. But overall was good, thought a bookshop cafe was a very nice concept I must say

I have to say..we had to wait 30mins for our food due to the large number of people but wow I was very pleasantly satisfied when the food came!

My friend had a tasting plate that was great!the only downside was tht the chicken was very dry but besides tht the turkish toast and pesto and sundried tomato and olives chorizo n prawns were really great!

And I had the pleasure of eating one of the best egg Benedict's ever! Hollandaise sauce was sooooooo gooooodddd...yums!
