Have been here a few times for breakfast recently and have to say that things have only gotten better. In the past, Halo was quite good, but I have recently found the standards have improved and it is now a firm favorite of mine. Staff are very nice and the breakfasts I have experienced were nicely presented and tasty - love the little touches like olive oil on my avocado and nicely toasted bread.
Grabbed a coffee from here last week and as I waited I saw all this wonderful food coming out so I told me friend. We decided to go yesterday morning and the taste of the food lived up to the beauty that was on the place. I had the granola with a blueberry panna cotta. My friend had the mushrooms. Both really enjoyed our meals. The only downside that kept me from giving a 5 star review was the wait. It was approximately a 30-40 minute wait. The staff were all great and when the food came the waitress apologised for the wait. The food was worth it but at breakfast time on an empty stomach its a bit too long. Will definitely be back, hopefully with maybe an extra kitchen staff perhaps. Highly recommend the food.

The Mrs who is born and bought up in Perth is a big fan of this place and was very eager to take me here. The coffees were too notch and the Nutella crepes were to die for! Very yummy and worth the visit! If you are ever in South Perth, make sure you check @haloespresso!
Service here is mostly lovely. Coffee is consistently good. Haven't eaten here much but the granola was so yummy. Great place for study and thank you thank you for having table service! Counter service is the worst.
Amazing foods and friendly staffs. Ordered the pork belly and halo burger, they were so delicious. Their pork belly was so soft and delicious, impressed me.
Great environment and friendly staff but almost entire breakfast was over cooked... poached eggs were solid and bacon was dry. Coffee was nice however.
had a nice breakfast here. simple eggs on wholemeal toast (rye wasnt available). burger was good, not too greasy and sweet potato fries were definitely a winmer. coffee was great, love my tumeric lattes lately. Menu felt a bit lacking in vegetarian/vegan options though, and the all-day breakfast menu didnt have any sweeter options which was a shame. so if you want something sweet then go before 11.30 or choose from the cabinet. setting is quite nice and open, w friendly staff and table service.
Came here for a quick before work brekkie; got in just after 7am. They offer table service and I ordered the poached eggs, smoked salmon, hollandaise on toasted sourdough and a long Mac topped up. Coffee arrived quickly and was nice and hot, but brekkie took a little while to arrive with my coffee almost finished. Brekkie was good and just the right portion; poached eggs cooked to perfection. Staff were friendly. I was finished just under 40 minutes, so reasonable to get to work on time.

Great food so fresh and tasty! My go to place when in Perth! Family run all the profits go to charity! You can't beat the coffee food and cool vibes!
I like this place and the atmosphere. The food is healthy and very good. The service is good as well. A little bit pricey but their quality worth it. I will be back.
I'd been here a few times before and had mixed experiences, but kept coming back for some reason. That reason became this most recent visit, where we wolfed down the most succulent and, I'm going to say it, moist, delicious sliders. Well worth it.
We wanted to eat somewhere on Angelo street but did not have a clear idea! When we randomly settled for Halo cafe we wee pleasantly surprised to be seated quickly outside complete with baby chair and space for the pram! The wait staff were fantastic as was the guy behind the counter! Everyone remained polite, friendly, attentive and efficient! Delicious bagels and fresh exotic salads! My 4 year old daughter and her baby cousin had fun eating and making merry! Well done guys! Keep it up!!!
Came for breakfast. Had the Halo breakfast. Friendly prompt service. Good serving size and tasty. Would definitely come again. Popular so lucky may have to wait.
Very friendly staff, great coffee, prompt service and great atmosphere. The staff were smiling, greeted all the customers with a friendly hello. Nice surprise in south Perth.
First time we've been to Halo Espresso although we live only a few blocks away. Had a great experience, not sure why but it was pretty quiet, which was good for us but I can't comment on the noise factor. For lunch we ordered the warm pumpkin, fetta, spinach salad with caramelised onion and spicy chicken quesadillas. For drinks we had chai latte, spearmint milkshake and apple juice. The food was delicious and a good portion size (not too big or too small). The drinks were beautifully presented and the chai had a lovely flavour (chock-a-block full of spices). I will be returning soon! :)
Nice pulled lamb on couscous. The zucchini & corn fritters portion was big. Especially love the yoghurt on top of the vege flap-jack. We both left with full tummy. Prompt and friendly service.

Strolled from a friend's place into Angelo Street and found ourselves at Halo for brekky on a Saturday morning. As it was already warming up, we were pleased to find a free table inside.
Couldn't look past the eggs benny which was my breakfast of choice, while one friend ordered the breakfast burrito and the other, the 'green' breakfast of avo and poached eggs on toast. We decided to forgo the hot coffees on a day like this one and went for a round of iced coffees instead.
Service was friendly, with complimentary water jugs to help yourself to and the display cabinet was full of tasty looking treats (perhaps to try another day!)
The iced coffees were deliciously refreshing. Opting for no cream, they were ice cold with a coffee kick. The breakfast burrito was huge and jam packed with flavour. The other two dishes, while on the smaller side, were still ample and filling. Lovely crusty bread complimented the eggs benny and green breakfast both with soft poached eggs. The beautiful surprise was the fresh made hollandaise, which (unfortunately) seems to be a rare occasion these days.
Prices were average and what you would expect to pay, not only for South Perth, but in general.
Good coffee. I often drove 10 minutes from home, past numerous other coffee spots to grab takeaway coffee from Halo. Dined in for breakfast once and was not disappointed, but the reality is although their coffee is worth the drive, South Perth offers some better breakfast spots. You will have to pick, which is more important to you first thing in the morning, good coffee or good breakfast?
Went here for breakfast and coffee and wow they really do have one of the best coffees in Perth! The breakfast was delicious, the only down point with this place is it gets very busy and very loud!
Read the article in the West about the social initiative through Halo. Checked it out with the gang. Wondering if the amount of staff behind the counter is also a social initiative? If so can I get a job for my 18 yr old Aspie son as well? Kudos to the partners for this effort. When Khaira got behind the counter there was purpose and drive. Hope he can impart that to his staff. Coffee: good milk always makes a difference, well made. Probably a little bland for my liking. You know my tastes are running to a stronger blend at the moment. Cakes/slices: lots of RAW products. I hate them! I want sugar and all things nice made with quality products and a deft hand. Change the cake selection and I will be back.
This place is so spacious considering Gusto Food next door is so jam packed. Little disappointed in the lack of attentive staff here. Especially the one behind the til. No greetings, no mannerism, not really friendly.
The waiting time for the food was a while wait. But didn't mind considering the breakfast was quite enjoyable.
Winner for a breakfast or brunch spot. Few different things on the menu and love the choice of toast. Breakfast bruschetta was yum and the bacon and eggs looked good. Standard serving. Nice spacious area not sitting on top of each other and all the boys gave excellent service. 2 cappuccinos 2 mains with a side each $43 with entertainment book $32, would happily pay full price.
Best coffee in South Perth, stop by almost everyday. Fresh fruit and yoghurt for breakfast is very filling, had the burger for lunch which was yummy, but please get rid of those awful boards you serve them on, eating off a plate is so much nicer and easier, boards are chunky and unladylike. Always a lovely display of cakes, salads etc too. Staff very pleasant and happy to accommodate. Also the place to be seen in this neck of the woods :)
A group of us popped into here when Gusto few doors down got busy and also their menu was strictly no changes to be made. It turned out to be a pleasant and much better atmosphere and food. These guys had salads as well as a breakfast and lunch menu, they didn't mind that just after 12 we still ordered some of the breakfast items. Also several of us were able to make changes to items on the menu with no extra fuss. They have a selection of cold pressed juices and raw vegan desserts. Coffee was exceptionally good, they have prana chai, and the Morka hot chocolate. In regards to the food, the bruschetta, the zucchini fritters were a stand out. Everyone was happy with their meal and service, also it wasn't crowded and packed, even though it was fairly full we all had room to move.
Went to Halo for a late breakfast and was happy to see they offer the brekky menu to 2pm. I ordered the Avocado and Feta smash and added a poached egg, this was a good combo and large portion but was disappointed to find my poached egg was hard boiled.. Literally no yolky goodness at all and the Sweetlips loves a good poachie! But after getting the attention of the staff, she quickly ensured I got a new poachie delivered to the table and all was forgiven. Thanks! :)
Halo is a reliable and enjoyable place to visit for breakfast. Great coffee, the granola is delicious and the staff are quick to help you find a table on the busy weekend mornings.
Nice atomosphere, reasonable pricing and staff but not amazingggg food. Still warrants a good start to the day for brekky.
Waited 50 mins for food this am. Not good enough. This used to be a great place. The love seems to have gone out of it. Shame.
Rude service. I was there with my 3 children and my husband, it was my second time we visit this cafe, my first experience is not that good instead we had a delicious pastry and coffee. But when we came this morning my children wanted an ice cream, i ordered 3 for them, but suddenly my youngest want a macaroon instead so i told the lady with the french accent can i have change my order to 2 ice creams and 1 macaroon, and then she told me " i am confused" she left me there more than 5 minutes before i'm being served by another lady. It was so rude and i will never came back

Yum. When I went it wasn't busy so can't comment on the wait. My coffee was great, not the best in Perth but still quality. The food is scrummy. I'll will be back when in the area
Although they were extremely busy I was greeted with a big smile from the barista with the short dark hair and the coffee was amazing. Will definitely be returning.
Excellent all round. We actually walked into Globe just down the road, but said the kitchen was closed (2pm??, why?) so we walked in next door. Best thing we did that day, as from start to finish it was great. Nice and clean, friendly and patient staff, quick service, it had nothing to complain about. My lentil and quinoa pattie with betroot salad was the best meal I have had in a long time and my partners fritters followed by the rasberry cheesecake brownie were apparently superb also. Certainly have no hesitation in returning here.
I've never had a bad coffee from this place and their sweet treats are house made and yummy.

Had great coffee and granola was really tasty - shame the person who served me (was also the barista) was such a sourpuss. When putting my meal on my table not a word was said - quite rude & ruined the overall experience. It's not hard to simply smile or say there you are or thank you. Shame because the food & coffee was really good

Excellent coffee and good gluten free choices. Halo's service was slick given how busy they were. I had parmesan eggs which was generous ( unlike my recent trip to Atomic) and excellent coffee. There were good gluten free choices at reasonable prices. Staff friendly even when rushed. One of the few with consistent quality each time I've been and prefer Halo over Atomic. Though some reviewers had experienced disappointment. I have not.
Love the coffee, reasonably priced with good portion. Though the polenta is a little bit too oily, otherwise it’s great. Service could improve a little as some of the staff aren’t paying attention when customers are calling them.

We were here on a busy Sunday morning, but service was prompt, drinks arrived quickly (we had coffee and hot chocolate, both very good), and food soon after. The polenta dish was the best I ever had.
We also had burgers and pancakes, all freshly prepared and piping hot, very satisfying. We've been to a few cafes but this one really stood out for the great food and the prompt service. Thank you! Will definitely be back :)
Service was excellent! Food was amazing! What topped it off for us was we took our friend here for her birthday, the staff went out of their way to bring a cupcake for her and sang too. Deffs will be back!
