Review Roj Kebabs - South Perth

I asked if the food is Halal, they said yes and then i ordered Chicken Kebab , Chips,Bundaberg and water. I did not know what he put in the system because he did not give me a receipt. As I am about to go he said you did not paid the money for the water, and he insulted me, and said that ,I am looking halal food and doing haram. Imagine not doing your job and insulting your customer. The big guy very rude and Zero customer service. By the way the food is average

Great fish and chips at a very reasonable price

A halal fish and chips shop on Mends street close to the jetty. Do not expect Keilis or Cicerellos. Offers wraps and guzleme as well if fish and chips its not your thing. You can take out and have a nice little picnic at the esplanade, enjoying the view the people and food.

I order 1 Fish & Chips for dinner from them. When I got home to unwrap the paper I was very disappointed to see that the batter fish was burnt & dark brown on both side & the chips were soaky. I return the food back to shop owner asking for him to cook another fish but he didn’t apologise to me as a customer. He defended himself saying that when the batter is cook, it turn dark brown & immediately return my money. Well he didn’t know that I previously had work experience in a fish & chips shop. If cooking the batter turns brown it means you need to change the cooking oil. I would not be a returning customer & recommed other customers don’t buy fish & chips as you will never know how often the owner change the cooking oil.

Worse fish n chips I’ve ever had. Guy was rude arrogant n overall revolting. Chips were disgusting, grilled fish was tough , basically no love put into preparing it. Paid the earth for 2 fish , chips, 8 squid n 2 dim sims. $48 wasted - wouldn’t recommend this place at all

The best Kebab I have had in ages, absolutely worth recommending to others.

Ordered a kebab and staff forgotten to ask what sauce do I want. I was too tired and didn't realised that. When he was wrapping I asked if I can add sauce he replied rudely: dude you gotta tell me earlier!" Negative 5 stars for customer service.

We went here for takeaway whilst visiting family in South Perth.

FOOD: Seafood Basket - It was frozen fish from the supermarket (not any doubt) and the prawns and calamari were the same. The crab stick, which they advertised were two included, were the size of your thumb nail and that's not exaggerating.

The Kebabs were small in size, even though ordered with 'the lot' the lamb meat was very chewy and the lettuce was yellowing.

We also ordered a family chips and they were hardly cooked.

This place has alot to learn, they weren't busy so that's not an excuse.

Never again!!

2/10

Haven’t been here in awhile given that my last experience with the food here wasn’t so great. The business appears to have changed hands and the shop itself looks cleaner and a bit more appealing. Ordered a chicken kebab which was pretty good, spinach and feta gozleme (good) and some hot chips (ok). Service was friendly, prices are pretty standard, not the biggest menu to choose from or the best kebabs by any stretch, but pretty decent overall.

Decided to try this kebab shop after failing to find a sushi place nearby.
Had a large mixed meat combo box, which came with salad, chips and garlic sauce.
Was pleasently suprised....the meat was yum with no chewy bits at all.
The chips were fresh and crunchy. The salad was really nice with a lovely dressing.

Will be back and would recommend the combo box with salad.
Came here for take away fish and chips ($10.50) and sadly was greatly disappointed.

The fish was not fresh and smell fishy... it was strangely hard even though the batter was cooked just right.
Chips were a good portion but nothing fancy to rave about.

I gave them 1.5 stars for their fish quality and drowning the meals in salt WITHOUT asking if the customer wanted them salted.

Would I go back to Roj Kebabs shop? No.

Strives to be mediocre”

Roj K's located along Mends street close to the Windsor could be absolutely awesome. I guess the ethos behind the food is to cater for the common denominator, the unwashed the tipsy, and the hungry. Hey its a business and if the cognoscenti want food that's uninspiring, and culturally devoid then let them eat cake with gusto. What a lost opportunity this represents, a real chance to expose the locals to real Kurdish/Turkish cuisine (most Turkish take-away's are actually Kurdish, bearing in mind long before the state of Turkey there existed Kurdistan). The least they could do when you serve Kebabs (rotating hunks of chicken/lamb) is make the bread fresh. Fresh bread lifts kebabs to the next level (e.g. Turkish Kitchen Victoria Park), in this case sadly no.

Undoubtedly one of the best kebab in town! They always serve fresh kebabs, with fresh ingredients and great pita bread too!

Plus the blokes there are very humble and friendly. One time, they put onions and tomatoes in my kebab (I ordered without them prior), and when I just mentioned it to them, they told me that they're making a new one to me and apologise. When I asked what do I do with my current kebab, they said, it's yours, keep it or do whatever I want. Total top guys!

Another good thing is, it's just a stroll away from my house, and they open until late!

Seal of Approval. The best kebab going around at the moment. Clean, never greasy and the pita bread is of good quality. They also cater well for the non-carnivorous and their hot chips are the best late night remedy south of the river.

Had a late night feed at this place. One chicken kebab with salad $10, one mixed kebab $13, with everything in it. The flat bread was nice. Could of done with abit more filling and salad. The kebab was abit thin, meat was abit dry.

Pre-(The Old Mill) Theatre Meal. I always make it a habit of a treat to visit the boys at Roj Kebabs before I go to a performance at The Old Mill Theatre up the road. This is a great place to eat where you can be in and out in under 30mins. The Turkish guys are very courteous in this clean and comfy dine-in/takeaway and the freshly prepared kebabs, burgers, gozlemes, pides, fish & chips, etc, etc, etc are are just the freshest and best value Turkish delights in fashionable Mends Street! Give them a try and I'll bet you'll be making it a habit as well. I

Probably the best kebabs I've ever had.. Fresh bread (I think they make it), beautiful meat (no sausage crap), friendly service (rare for kebabs).

By far, "THE Best" kebabs in Australia so far. The bread around the kebab makes it. So fresh. We drive from Bayswater on Friday at lunch and the whole office chips in and gets one each. Awesome.
