Review Atomic Cafe - South Perth

UncleEagle Eye
This morning for breakfast, busy South Perth Cafe/Coffee destination on Mends Street. Very good coffee by expert Barista, a lil hot for me though. I had poached eggs on yummy multigrain toast. Quick service by very capable Staff at the tables & at the counter. Yummy selection of ready made food, cakes, etc. Nice lot of sun streams in there first thing in the morning. If you want to be with the in-crowd in South Perth, go there...

What's not to love about this place. Ten out of ten for food, coffee and staff. Best cappuccino I have had in a long time and the apple cake with ice cream was divine.

This morning I went to Atomic to get two take away muffins . They looked absolutely delicious, crunchy on top with fruit and custard toppings. The waitress told me to go and wait by the take away window while she would pack them. When she placed them in front of me and I very carefully picked up the bags, I realised that the muffins had been reheated -to me: a crime! especially that I had not been asked if I wanted them reheated in a microwave, which destroys the texture of the muffin- and they were lying on the side so that the custard -now hot and very runny- was spilling in the container and the fruits were scattered at the bottom. It did not start my day very well. Why offer such beautiful cakes and treat them as if they were rubbish, and not consider the client's preferences assuming that they want what the waitress has decided.

Menu is fantastic and so many different options. Visited for Sunday breakfast. Service staff were so lovely and kept the busy restaurant on track. Food was so delicious, tasty and fresh - also very quick!! Definitely recommend and I'll be back to try the lunch menu next.

Pretty good place to sit and eat. Waitresses were friendly and quick. Food came out within 10mins of ordering but was a bit cold. (Ordered potato rosti). Still tasted good. I definitely recommend it so give it a go and see for yourself.

A warm little cafe and always packed full of people ☺️. I ordered a toasted sandwich and it tasted good 👍

Great coffee, good food and great service. What more do you need?

Great location as just at downstairs of the hotel. Clean, bright environment and friendly staff. We had omelet and avocado bruschetta are perfectly presented and definitely enjoyed the dishes. Not to mention the quality of the coffee, spot on!

Popped in for a takeaway coffee- the man behind the counter yelled over the top of me speaking several times - implying I wasn’t speaking loud enough so I repeated the order much louder. Funnily enough my coffee order got messed up and I got an almond mocha instead of a latte. I am a celiac so when I queried if the chocolate sauce they used had gluten in it all I got was a look and a shrug. By the way I feel right now it does have gluten in it and it was a crap coffee as they over heated the almond milk so it ended up in the bin.

Do not go to this place very arrogant and rude staff, plus all the food is way overpriced.

Atomic has been a long standing fixture in South Perth, and other than the renovations, not much had changed over the years (including the menu). Coffee has always generally been pretty good here, this particular visit we ordered the atomic vege omlette (decent but nothing special), salmon Benedict (ordinary) & the breakfast bruschetta (a slice of toasted ciabatta with some sliced tomato and avocado - nothing you can’t whip up quickly at home). It would be nice to see some more interesting dishes or specials or just something a bit different to what they have been serving for years. Great location & ambience though.

If you’re asking more than six bucks for cup of a hot drink you’re asking too much. I came very close to just walking out when the price of 6.20 was quoted me for an almond milk matcha, but my better nature told me to stop and give it a chance. Only just passable. Certainly wasn’t be getting a drink from here again.

Here’s some constructive criticism, if there are 4 people and you only got 3 coffees on order maybe double check politely if u might have missed an order for the 4th person, maybe only 3 of us wanted coffee, or maybe we did order 4 coffees and you missed an order, it’s okay to miss that, we all make mistakes daily. What’s not okay is to not only miss an order, but to also to deliver the wrong coffee, and THEN act like it’s our fault and channel self righteous attitude towards your customers. Attitude matters, you are in the hospitality industry. More staff training please.

DO NOT GO HERE....There seems to be a constant theme reading through these reviews of rude arrogant , unpleasant staff.
I had the same experience myself this morning.
The old Asian lady making the so called coffee's is rude and arrogant, and the owner is rude as well.go elsewhere.
Sophie-waters
I ordered the scrambled eggs, bacon, mushroom and whipped feta! Was amazing!!! I honestly think this is value for money. Coffee was average tho. Overall great experience. 😊

Very clean and tidy. Fantastic menu choices. Fresh ingredients, and tasty meals. The meals come out fairly quickly which is great. We have been back quite a few times and will continue to do so.

Decent coffee by Perth standards, though not quite as endearing as some of the smaller joints north of the Swan. For a convenient, if somewhat pricey barista experience close to the foreshore, look no further than the newly renovated Atomic Expresso.
Livaus
Repeat customer - I get my pancake fix and great tea here. Selection of dishes could be wider, but the atmosphere and service makes up for it.
Savannah
Rude staff. New location looks nice but same boring food and bitter coffee. Lots of lycra from cyclists who take up a lot of space and only order coffee. Noisy and hard to hear your dining companion, I was there for a work meeting and it was difficult to talk. Staff is very rude and condescending- older lady is snobby and not friendly. I heard her talking down about customers to the barista. There was a few mums with prams who she was unhappy with because they had prams. Would go somewhere else and avoid this place.

Located in the new mall on Mends St, service is quick and friendly. Prices are standard for Perth and the coffee is decent which can be hard to find here.

The interior is very noisy and really hard to hold a conversation. Some sound absorbing materials in the decor would make the environment so much more welcoming.
My review score would actually be 3.5
Giving this cafe a 4 just for the muffin, it was one of the best I have had in while. Great homemade texture with generous amounts of apple. Have to say it reminded me of the ones Mum used to make. Coffee was a big let down unfortunately, strange flavors going on & bitter, pleased I bought the muffin!

Ok this place is pretty average. The bacon sandwich is a HUGE ripoff, but it's tasty. The breakfast is decent and the coffee is a bit too thin for my liking. Otherwise, this place is demi-decent.
Melburnianlaura
Current boyfriend and I come here all the time. Nothing's bad, not a lot's great. Saw Tracy from MAFS there, which was also quite average. The eggs florentine is above average... they commonly get my coffee order wrong, though.
Joanne Greaves
Wow! Had a great late breakfast experience.
The food was really good with an extensive menu, but the service was impressive. Nothing was too much to ask for - the staff were so helpful and friendly I felt like a regular.
Absolutely awesome experience!
Had breakfast here today ... very very disappointing.

Eggs Benedict - Hollandaise sauce was weak and sub sub par. Spinach was watery. Really nothing to recommend except the eggs were done well.

Spanish eggs with chorizo - extremely salty sauce and if you say you're going to serve chorizo, please don't serve me a Vienna sausage !!! BAD !!!!!!!!
Amrit Bhojwani
Their Egg Benedict is just too good. I highly recommend it. For me it's the best Egg Benedict I've ever eaten. For the drinks, their fresh orange juice is also very good.
Christine Howard
Great breakfast. We loved the baked beans with eggs. Kind of a version of Spanish eggs. Coffee is very good. Service was excellent. Kids are welcome.
Mrs_ox_qtn
Quick, friendly service and good coffee. Unfortunately the food isn't great or very good value for money. Very small portions for the cost. It's put us off going back.
Harrison Baker
Went to the new store just down the road from the old one this weekend. Had the avocado bruschetta banana and walnut pancakes and the Nutella croissant. Everything was delicious and the staff were nice and friendly (:

“The worst pasta dish I have ever tried to eat”

When you order a pasta dish (in a quasi Italian eatery), in this case Spaghetti al Tonno for the princely sum in the mid twenties, one does not expect to be served tinned tuna. It was absolutely disgusting and inedible, I rather eat the insoles from the Australian rugby team shoes after a particular grueling training session then try to eat that again. However the gods have spoken the Restaurant is closing down due to redevelopment, all hail to progress.
CookieMonster
Quick Service and Good Portion sizes

Had a Veg Panini with a side salad and side skinny chips and iced mocha and was perfect for brunch.

All day breakfast available which overlaps the lunch menu so lots to choose from depending on how hungry you are.

I liked that u can just order what you want and also add sides rather than have a high priced item that comes with sides that some may not want.

You can also make your own meal and build it to a full meal with all the little items you wish for.

The drinks menu is vast and not your simple teas and coffees but a mixture of the basics and a few other specialities available.

Gets a bit crowded early in the mornings so best time to go on weekends is after the lunch rush around 2pm.
Hungerpains
Great spot for brunch. Food is great and it caters for kids. Only let down of this place is the coffee. Lots of local roasters around Perth now. Get on board and change up your beans.
Clifford
Busy venue at a good location. Coffee was decent but I expected it to be better.

The eggs hollandaise was liked by my nephew but the cold coffee order was not what he wanted.
Fusian Palette
Menu is simple and easy to pick. I had the chicken avocado bruschetta. Chicken was grilled and moist. Bread was a little over toast with burn sides.

Friend has hollandaise sauce on poach eggs with ham and spinach which was nice and light.

Food is generally pretty good at atomic. The only thing I can pick is the coffee is not hot enough.
Bonny
Staff are amazing and the porridge is very nice as well. Although very sad to see it's been taken off the menu :( Coffee is one of my favourites in Perth and love the location
Sweet Baby Ray
Overpriced and average. Small portions with large prices and an $8 orange juice that is half ice with some juice mixer packed with that preservative taste. I have been hear a few times over the years and have decided I will not be giving it another chance when there is so much better out there. With restaurants you usually get 1 or 2 of 3: good service, good location or good food. Atomic has location.
Christopher Barraud
26 minutes to get my latte (may have been longer if I didnt ask). Scalding hot, burnt to all hell. Left after 2 sips. Might as well have thrown a fiver down the toilet. Would have been more entertaining.
Nichola Starkey
Coffee wasn't as strong as I'd expect and disappointing. It was a good temperature. Had a full fat flat white and there was no creme from coffee or troth from milk? Very strange to see. I was wondering if I was at Muzz Buzz. Either the barista was off her game or there is a problem with the beans. Will go again just to be sure.

Stopped here for an unexpected breakfast stop! The food is amazing! We had the Avo Bruschetta and it was honestly the best I've ever had. It was perfectly combined with freshly sliced tomatoes and what seemed like a pesto oil dressing, AMAZING!
Good food, good vibe, will definitely be back to sample more from the menu 👍👍👌👌
MSG Foodie
Avocado bruschetta is fresh, tasty, light and satisfying!!
Good value for money too. Perfect for Saturday morning brunch.
Outdoor seating is perfect if you bring your furry friend along.
Petros
The breakfast here is lovely! Coffee is served super hot and our food came out lovely and fast. It was a treat to actually have hot coffee with our breakfast which we rarely ever get. I ordered the mushroom bruschetta with poached egg and it was divine. The truffle oil was superb.. Delicious!
Memai Tugade De Guzman
Me and boyfriend always do come here for a breakfast date (coz he knows I love brekkie food) their eggs Benedict is so delicious and this place has the most perfect iced mocha!!
Affili.atewithfood
Funky, casual vibes. Found this place wandering South Perth and wasn't disappointed. You know what really impressed me? And it's so darn simple...I ordered a Bundaberg Ginger Beer in the glass bottle and they brought it out to me on a tray with a glass topped up ice! I know, right?! Such a simple gesture goes a long way. Soda stays cold longer. Anyway, the food. My sister was adamant they were the best pancakes she'd ever had out. Nice big serving of maple. I went the lamb pita...it was HUGE. Not too sure how guests eat it but I had to use a fork and knife as it was so big and folded a bit awkward. Otherwise, happy customer.
Shaydock
Really rude service for not just me but the others that I was with. The mocha I had was nothing but a chocolate milkshake by the time I got to the bottom, as the rookie's who were making it don't understand how to mix coffee and chocolate together. Using syrup in mochas is so 2009 anyway.
Ben Lewis
You know how if you buy an iced coffee it's kind of like buying cold milk with ice cream with you vaguely hearing someone in the next room say coffee???
Well... The iced coffee at Atomic was legit strong coffee, just cold, and with ice cream.
Cheesecake was a bit heavy...
If you're on Mends street and you can't make up your mind which cafe to go to... Give Atomic a try.
Eatableperth
Atomic make one of the best muffins around in my opinion. Each day there is a choice of two different muffins. My personal favourite is Honey and Almond. I feel like they make this less than the rest though because they hardly ever have them when I am in for a coffee. On Friday I slipped in for a Friday morning heart starter (coffee) :) and enjoyed a mango and almond muffin. yum...Atomic's coffee is always good and they offer the choice of a Mega size in the take away cup which is always a winner!
Emmalie Stewart
Will be making this my new breakfast regular. There is a full breakfast menu that offers eggs and pancakes. However I went here for lunch and had the Thai beef salad witch was delicious though the beef was quite tough. Company had the beef burger and veggie bruschetta.
The waitstaff are friendly but we didn't have much help (no table service)
? Mmm
Atomic used to be the place to be seen, However, the place has gone downhill I have noticed. Food is slow lately, coffees are too hot. The menu has been the same for a while, would be nice for them to change it up and add interesting food that is on par with other Cafes around Perth. It's expensive for what your getting, might as well go to dome across the road for consistency and value for money since they basically sell the same stuff.
Food Hunter
prefect breakfast with perfect environment. not pricy & foods are delicious! I love their pancakes, it's super yum & worth the price. definitely will come back again!
InMyFaceHole
Popped in for a mid afternoon coffee. The service was friendly and quick. Nice location. We had a skinny flat white and a soy cap. Both were served at the perfect temp. The coffee was smooth and creamy.
Richard
Had high hope for a decent breakfast at this cafe. Unfortunately any breakfast cafe that tries to flog off eggs Benedict with hollandaise sauce from a jar is cheap and deplorable. Will never return based on this simple fact, coffee was average too.
Drum_tum_tum
You can't really go past a cafe that is ALWAYS packed, apart from the obvious challenges of finding a seat (though it is fun to watch fully grown adults sprint and weave across a crowded cafe bumping into people left right and centre to secure a table....). The coffee here is always exceptional and eggs benedict to die for. I eat here frequently. Love it. They have a system down that makes sure food and coffee orders come out quickly and without waiting too long, none of this "we're so busy your coffee will be 25-30 minutes" rubbish.
Sreekanth Gopalakrishnan
The place is very crowded on weekends so you probably want to grab your spot earlier. The location is great and they have a decent breakfast menu ...the pancakes and bruschetta are worth trying and coffee is not bad either
M.elisa
Found a COCKROACH crawling under my table right to the kitchen entrance while getting my phone from my handbag. Was disgusted. Food was average. I've had better
LittleGirlBigFood
The breakfast bruschetta is yummy. I love this place. The cyclists make it a tight squeeze but that's what weekends are all about! Coffee is epic
Gabrielle Trenbath
Atomic Espresso have something to tempt everyone as well as great coffee to get you started. A word of warning, it does get very busy on the weekend!
Pris
had the spanish baked eggs and coffee here. It was nice enough - two eggs had oozy yolks and both ladies at my table liked their food too. Coffee was a little bit hot but ok.

Brownies and lemon cupcake were ok too. My friend ordered her favourite banana milkshake here - she loves it and I have to agree with her that it is rather refreshing and not too sweet.

Overall - ok food and ambience. Wont be driving all the way here for this cafe but its a suitable place to meet your friends for lunch in south perth.

I havent been here for a while, however last time i went i was with a dear friend who i hadnt seen in a while and the breaky date was ruined, i ordered the eggs hollindase and she ordered the pancakes, the pancakse were cold and rock solid and my hollindaise sauce was watery and the eggs were cold, it was like they were left overs that had been reheated... anyway we took one or two bites and asked for our money back, the asian-australian man working at the time said we could only have half our money back as we had had a bite.. it was ridiculous , we left and went to other cafe in Angelo street which was great would not go back

Steak Sandwich. Looking more like steak panini...

Typical over priced Australian breakfast. Please google "Over easy eggs"

Frozen stale lemon cupcake - no it's a muffin!. Brought a so called lemon cupcake on Saturday that turned out to be muffin. When I got to my car and tried to eat it was frozen solid so I took it back to be told it was not frozen but cold from the fridge (think I know if something is frozen). She then threw it in the microwave with the plastic spoon and past me back a soggy mess in a brown paper bay with melted icing. Lets just say it ended up in the bin outside and I won't be going back not that the person serving me would care.
Matthew Barker
Overpriced and the Pannini's we had for lunch were dry, bare and terrible, and done without passion. I hate Perth for food, honestly. We went somewhere else for the coffee.
Casual Diner
Slow service. Tables full of used crockery. Could do with more staff during busy times.
Laurawalters922
Small meals, not served to eat.. I found Atomic's breakfast dishes to be fairly small for their price. My food wasn't all that great either so I feel the price isn't justified...
However, the chai latte's and tea selection are all wonderful.
I wouldn't recommend Atomic Cafe for food but would go back for coffee!
Pbh356
Love going to atomic; good quality food and fast service. Love the porridge!
Sarah111
Nothing special. Food at Atomic was average- you could easily make it at home. A little over priced.
Coffee ridiculously expensive. $5.10 for a mug with normal milk plus extra for soy milk. And the coffee was average!
I don't like going to cafes that have no systems. You grab your own table, they don't bring you water you have to get your own and there's no table service.
Wouldn't rush back
Facebook User
Average. Tables were dirty and all wait staff walked straight past them every time they came out. Coffee was bitter. Had to ask for our eggs to be re cooked as they came out hard boiled instead of poached. Nothing about the breakfast excited me. I wouldn't come back

BEST CAFE IN PERTH SO FAR. Moved here from Adelaide a year ago, we have an Atomic breakfast once a week and i get my coffee from one of the two in Perth about 5 times a week. Consistency is a key and both places serve my meals and coffee exactly the same. Best food, best coffee and best service i have experienced in Perth so far. The food is fresh, delivered fast and cooked to absolute perfection. I will continue coming here every week x x x

Three strikes and you're out!!!. Three strikes is an understatement! What once use to be our leafy local coffee hub that we would walk to has now become an overpriced waste of space. It's a struggle to get a hello or grin from the wait staff on a good day let alone greeting them on a bad day. The food and decor aren't any better! I have lost count of the number of times that they have messed up our orders and when we do bring this to their attention they will rectify it and bring over a $2 receipt to fix this and pay when we leave. Our latest experience was only this morning when the toast was badly burnt and so dry not even my coffee could wash it down. Cannot wait to have a new coffee shop open up next door. You've lost our business and our trust.

grin and the food and decor are even worse. Numerous of stuff ups from them and

Lovely food :). Yummy food :) I had a vegi omlet that is gluten and dairy free with GF toast and was delicious, so glad found a safe place to eat :)

Ordering the make your own breakfast. I ordered the make your own breakfast
When it comes to ordering how you want your eggs it states that it comes with 2 slices of ciabatta toast in the menu
On receiving my meal it came with none
Talking to the cashier she says you have to order it
Why say it comes with the eggs if you have to tell them you want it anyway!!!
Very annoyed!!!
Kem Hassan
Love the breakfast here especially the mushroom bruschetta
Adam D
Much better than dome and similar prices

Cafe cool. I really like this place and judging from the crowds that frequent here, so does the rest of South Perth.

Have eaten several lunches here and at the Claremont restaurant but the other morning it was a first for breakfast/brunch.

Seated ourselves at an inside table and grabbed a high chair for the kid. The tables are a bit close together but it wasn't terrible, makes for some good eavesdropping if you wish.

Ordered the pancakes and the baked eggs, a soy latte and an English breakfast tea.

The pancakes were light and fluffy and quite sweet. They were accompanied with cream and maple syrup and topped with several strawberries. The baked eggs came with white beans and chorizo. They had a spicy red sauce mixed through and it was a nice contrast to the sweet breakfast. Breakfast options are always a little unadventurous but my sister and I were happy with our choices.

Love it here and will be back soon.

-----20 Jul, 2014-----

Awesome. Being fans of the Claremont Atomic, my sister and I were surprised to see another located in South Perth. It was really busy so we decided to take a walk along the foreshore then try our luck at scoring a table for Sunday lunch.

On our return, it was still bustling but we were able to be seated at a table for two in the lane way which easily accommodated the pram. Happy to see the same menu, we chose the pumpkin salad plus grilled chicken, the bacon burger, soy latte and an English breakfast tea.

The drinks were served promptly and the American waitress had outstanding service. She was really friendly and maintained this demeanor with all her tables. The drinks were good; the latte was really creamy and the tea was full bodied. Meals arrived shortly afterwards and we were really happy the selection. There was a generous serve of chicken, pumpkin and beetroot and the burger had a delicious relish which enhanced the flavour of the meat and bacon. Served with shoestring fries, these were pretty non nondescript, they could do with being replaced with beer battered chips.

This place is great and we would eat here again without hesitation. There's a tasty selection of cakes and desserts in the display cabinet that we will try next time too.
Food 2 Run
Really good coffee !!!. This place is always busy, having said that the coffee is always good. Staff friendly and helpful.. Good coffee and can't fault it, has to be the best coffee in this pocket of South Perth..

Ruined my day. Seemed li.... Ruined my day.

Seemed like a nice friendly place to go. At 3:50 we went to the counter asked about their salads, grabbed a menu, asked where the toilets were and sat down. While I went to the toilet I returned to my table and went to order with my partner. As I get to the counter a couple is leaving as they just ordered and when it's my turn the girl tells me their kitchen is closed right to my face when just a second before the other couple ordered!
Absolute absurd and terrible customer service. I'm sorry but their desperation to close the restaurant at 3:58 was just rude and discriminatory. Disgusting attitude that absolutely ruined our day.
You don't need to feel like the people who you are paying $23 for a salad don't want to serve you.

Mobile review Disgraceful .... Mobile review
Disgraceful service, Went to order was completely ignored by all three staff behind the counter for a good 2 minutes as more people lined up behind me, gave up and went to the lovely French cafe down the road, realized I had left my sunglasses on atomics counter so left my dogs and ran back to get them. Tried to grab the attention of the lady roaming the floor to please quickly grab them for me, told rudely to line up again to be served, it's little acts of kindness and helping your customer that make cafés great. This place has the worst customer service I've seen in years and I work in hospitality. The French patisserie a few doors down consistently gives lovely prompt friendly service. I would recommend there in a heartbeat over atomic
Perth Foodie Niz
Used to be my local fav but not anymore! Pros - location, quick service Cons - Crap coffee! Menu needs a revamp!

Good brekky & service for the price!. Visited Atomic for brekky in early April on a saturday morning.
Ordered the omlette toast with home-made beans and raisin toast for brekky.
Omlette and beans were flavoursome and filling for the price 9/10
The cafe latte was up to perfection 9/10
Raisin toast was great too 8/10
Service was excellent and quick with smiling staff (both male & females) in spite of being busy! 8/10
Prices were worth the service and food.
Will return soon.
Sexybeast_suga
Looks aren't important. Ordered the mushroom bruschetta this morning and I must say it was quitr flavorsome. fast and friendly service although the staff did look particularly daggy in those oversized denim aprons... not a very good look
Justin Sheppard
Diner from Melbourne. Lunch here Sunday 4/5.

Cafe was nearly full. Ordered Iced Coffee and Lamb Wrap.

Iced coffee came out about 5 minutes after I ordered and followed up 5 minutes later by the wrap.
Good sized meal for lunch. nicely presented, fresh ingredients and very tasty.

I'd say reasonably priced considering the area. Would definitely go back.
Kathy
I don't particularly like avocado but on top of the Chicken Bruschetta, and combined with all the other ingredients, it tasted delicious. The whole dish was very fresh and flavoursome and I would definitely recommend.
N4kups
Denise. I would definitely go back.i am from Margaret river and I found out even though being situated in a busy location the staffs manage to always be helpful and the price would obviously not go cheaper because it's south Perth and it's a well known cafe with wonderful breakfast items
Bebe
Attitude staff, bland food, overpriced, nothing special, won't be back
MichaelCSpoonie
Best coffee spot near River on South Side. I used to work in the area and I really miss my Atomic Espresso coffee morning coffee fix.

If you're not a morning person, you may find the atmosphere a bit overwhelming as their breakfast is very popular. In that case, I recommend you order your coffee to take away.
Jjsp
Overpriced. Food wasn't bad but definitely wasn't worth the price. I had the mushroom bruschetta and it was poorly presented and not a generous serving. I'm not a fan of the atmosphere either, the staff wasn't friendly and it feels crowded and rushed.
Kem's Food Adventures
Great coffee and breakfast spot. Mushroom bruschetta with poached egg on ciabatta is the bomb...
Val
For what you get..... A bit overpriced here. Nothing necessarily wrong with the food. Then again, there's nothing special either.

Don't know how you can mess up a Caesar Salad, either.

It was probably a bad night though.. we're going there again next weekend lets hope my mind changes!!
K
Overpriced & poor service. I felt as though I was in the way of staff & putting them out. Disappointing, whatever happened to good ol' fashion customer service...
Evening Star
High turnover cafe. We have been coming here for years. 2-3x per week. Meals, take-away coffees, etc.
You notice when the chicken bruschetta has one very small piece of chicken one week, and a decent 2 slices the next. Different chefs? Cost cutting?
The prices here aren't cheap. A decent serve - each time please!
And how about having all your staff smile? Especially when they have seen you for 52 weeks in a year!
Other than that, fast and furious service. And you pay for it.
We keep coming back, but throw in some good competition and we will be off like a shot!
Mr. Foodbawse
Excellent coffee, worst service I've ever experienced in South Perth. Counter staff were rude from the second I walked in all through the transaction. $6.10 for a coffee, no tap water served on table, no sugar or sweetener on any table, 1.5% cc charge for any card under $20...
Powpow
Fast service and good coffee. However very disappointed that a cafe that has a gluten free note on their menu does not have one gluten free breakie option. Not even gluten free bread! They do however have some gluten free cakes or lunch options if you can wait until after breakie. Staff were not very friendly. Food was pretty good. Nothing to rave about.
Don't Mind If I Do
Hrmmmm. Upsides - fast service, food was tasty.
Downsides - absolutely no idea or love when it comes to food presentation, boring breakfast menu, no gluten free toast, typical 'Sth Perth' pretentiousness.
So many more interesting breakfast menus in Perth at the moment, wouldn't hurry here if you're looking for variety.
PerthieGeorgie
Love love love everytime. This place is a winner everytime! i live a street across from atomic so i come here quite frequently and it is still my favourite for a meal. The service is always fast, efficient and friendly. coffee is tasty and even with the queue reaching the street - food and coffee comes out so quickly and perfect poached eggs everytime. Places around Perth should learn a few things from these guys! Keep up the good work!
Avie
Very good food! Loving it as a new brunch spot with the girls! However a bit busy Sunday mornings.
Acouz
My meal was forgotten and after asking several times it didn't arrive until everyone else had finished. Even then it was raw and had to be sent back and I had to wait another 10 minutes for its return. Didn't really feel like eating by then!
Stuart Penn
Haven't been to Atomic for a while. Had a latte and was really disappointed, tasted like flavoured hot milk.
Amber
A busy cafe everyday must mean its good!. This cafe is my local. The coffees are great, as is the hot chocolate! Food is fresh and delicious. My fave is the avocado bruschetta and eggs benedict. Yes, the food is rather pricy but no surprises there being it's a trendy cafe in the affluent neighbourhood of south Perth. The cafe is ALWAYS busy especially on weekends! Highly recommended.
Emily
Great. Always a great breakfast spot, the bread is awesome so anything served with toast is always a favourite! Good coffee too
Hungry Hungry Hippo
Good spot for brekky. Always hit up Atomic when I feel like a relatively healthy breakfast - bruschetta with fetta and side of eggs a fave. Good coffee, good service. Can get a little packed on the weekends but don't have to wait too long for food.

Left me luke warm. Busy as usual. It's obviously popular. This Sunday my guest and I were served luke warm coffees. Though ordered with our meals, these arrived as we were finishing our breakfasts. My Eggs Benedict was made with bottled hollandaise, not cafe made. I asked if there are any gluten free bread options. No. My friend has scrambled egg with sour cream and chives. She wondered where the second egg went (small serve). The place seems to have become a little complacent. That's said it's still better than Dome, but frankly I think there is room for improvement. Not what it used to be.

I literally want to go there every day for their avocado bruschetta with feta. Soooo tasty. I really appreciate and thank them for using free range eggs/bacon too.

Just had best breakfast ever. No wonder packed on weekends. Mushroom bruscetta with truffle oil was amazing.

The coffee has changed here. It was just amazing before , smooth and silky. Now it's just your average burnt coffee. Very dissapointed. The whole lively atmosphere here has dissapeared. The food standard has gone down too. Turkey panini use to come with Brie which helps sauce it now its just dry spinach on dry turkey. Maybe I'm just came here on a bad day.

The best. Without a doubt the absolute best breakfast place. We ususaly end up here once a week at least adn am never disappojnted. Food is quick to arrive and tasty. And they have EFTPOS now which is awsome!

Vastly overpriced and poor quality food. I've just paid 12 dollars for a leaf, a slice of red onion, a couple of slices of cucumber and a pathetic amount of smoked salmon on a toasted panini.

Far better to go somewhere like Tarts or Sayers in Northbridge/ Leederville.
