Always had great meals, steaks and garlic sauce is the best i have ever had. Its our local and we go regularly. Its a great family and kids friendly place with the playground and ducks come to visit
Found this little gem via Zomato on our way down south. Nice clean and roomy bar/restaurant set on water. Staff are lovely and welcoming. Food was reasonably priced pub food and quality was good. Good facilities for our baby also.
The food is excellent great portion size great value for money. The service behind the bar and in the restaurant is excellent. The pub has a great family friendly atmosphere. Everyone are so happy and friendly.
The restaurant has been a bit hit & miss lately but think it might be back on the improve now. Menu is great, food was all cooked perfectly & massive servings. Will be spending lots of time here.
The Sandy Cove is a great pub, and family friendly. Great bar staff, and fun events. The food has always been terrific, whether a bowl of wedges or their nightly specials, or a nice fish or steak.
Fantastic Outlook. I have eaten at the Sandy Cove three times in the last week. For Tavern food I was very impressed by the freshness, taste and presentation of the food. Steak sandwiches, fish and chips and my favourite the pumpkin salad with chicken were all above average for a pub/tavern in the region. The service was prompt and polite.
Mixed Feelings. Im going to say good and bad. I like the place but why is it that every time we come and order food and its great it ends up taken off the menu shortly after. Last couple of times have been less than impressed with our meals. Stop taking good stuff off the menu! Would also love to see that TAB section closed off. Its horrible.
Omg I love the bourban ribs amazballs!!! All the food was fresh and tasty simple and delicious !!!
Had a great meal here the other night. I believe there is a new Head Chef called Ben. Our food was awesome. I had the Chilli garlic prawns with coconut rice that was a great size, crunchy prawns and yummo! I also shared a chocolate brownie with pistachio nut praline and chocolate ganache . Well worth the drive or boat trip up the Murray River. I will definitely return.

Awesome food !!! The sandy cove tav has had a menu change recently and it is some of the best food in the peel region. I had the whiting entree which was really good and loved the Greek salad. Others at my table had the chilli & garlic prawns, ribs & salt and pepper squid. All were amazing but the ribs were to die for - nice sticky sauce mmmm. Deserts were also amazing - chocolate brownie & sticky date pudding. To top it all off had a great waitress who really looked after us. Give sandy cove a try - it will not disappoint !
I had lunch there the 10th April 2014 and had barramundi in green curry sauce it was absolutely the best I've tasted the combinations of asparagus mint coriander fantastic highly recommend this dish
New menu - welcoming change. Was a little hesitant in trying this venue after reading a few reviews but was glad we booked. I ordered the mushroom entree followed by the pork belly and my wife the crab cakes and morrocan chicken.
Both my meals were faultless, well presented and tasted delicious. My wife was equally impressed, unfortunately we didnt try desserts as we were already full. Recommended to the waitress that table service would of been nice. Was informed that this was in the process of happening.
Once again glad that we booked and we will be returning to The Sandy Cove.

We booked for Fathers Day on Sunday and the meals were fantastic! The pan fried barramundi had crispy skin and the was just lovely, everyone enjoyed their meals and the service was impeccable - we shall all be back!
Thoroughly recommended and there's also a children's playground outside whereby you can keep an eye on them playing through the dining room windows.

Fabulous Rib Night. My husband, myself and our four children were staying in South Yunderup. I had researched restaurants on Urbanspoon before going down and discovered that The Sandy Cove Tavern had weekly specials. On Monday night they currently have Pork Ribs, chips and salad for $15. We decided to head down there on Monday night to try them out. The tavern is situated in a beautiful spot close to the river. The Bistro overlooks a children's play ground. We were seated by a very friendly waitress who went out of her way to make us feel welcome. Both my husband and myself ordered the ribs and our children had the $10 Kids meal of nuggets and chips served in a basket. The ribs were amazing! the meat literally melted in your mouth. My husband is a pork rib enthusiast and he declared them to be the best he had ever eaten. I must say that I would have to agree. The serving size was so huge that both of us could only manage to eat half! Our children were delighted with their meal and the only thing that would have made it perfect would be if the outdoor eating area was more family friendly. I would love to have seen more low raised tables and chairs outside overlooking the park. The seating that is there at present is bar stool size and not workable for young children.
I believe that Tuesday night is Parmy night at $15, Wednesday is pasta night at $15 and Thursday is steak night at $15. We will definitely return in the future.
Lovely position near the water, food was great, staff very friendly, was fairly busy for a Monday. All in all well worth the visit. I can definitely recommend it you won't be disappointed.

Had the best tavern food we have enjoyed for many a year. Kids (Including 2 teenagers) give the tavern the best ever award, staff were a real treat,Air-conditioning system I would gladly have at my abode! Can't praise this business enough. Oh yes the big 1, the prices were more than reasonable!!!
