Review Absolute Thai Homemade - Southport

choo goh
A small outlet in Southport with authentic Thai taste. The barramundi was a delight as was the custard sticky rice. Reasonable pricing and friendly owner . Will be back to try other dishes

If i'm ever craving for thai food, this is the place i go to. Excellent value for money and food actually tastes good with decent portion size.

My wife saw this restaurant on Google as we drove down to the Gold Coast from Brisbane and we decided to give it a go. The place is small and was busy when we arrived but the staff had us quickly seated and it wasn’t long before we ordered and the food arrived. Everything was delicious and nicely presented. Having been caught out by ratings before it was nice to see that the high marks were well deserved. I’ll definitely be going back to try other dishes.

Amazing food and many options available. Staff always friendly and understanding, no long waits for the food to get ready even if they are busy and the quality is just outstanding. Their coconut rice and green curry are the best!

Quick lunch for two. Partner had pad Thai, which she declared was excellent (I tasted it, she was right). I had pork belly with chilli jam and veggies and rice. Terrific. Less than $30 for two of us. We'll be back.

Absolute Thai is the best Thai joint in the Gold Coast. The serving sizes are generous, the food delicious, and the workers there are kind. I can’t stop returning!!

Really nice food. The meals were a good size. Online ordering and payment was easy. The meal was ready when they said. Well done, will definately be back.

I dont know why the rating is pretty low. Honestly, the food is not bad and i really like the customer service. I think the one that serve us is the boss and he is really kind and respect their customer.

I really like the fried rice as well and the tomyum soup. Eventhough the mushroom is not that cooked, but still i love it.

Thank you.

It was sooo good! I ordered the cashew chicken and couldn't stop eating it despite the fact I was so full. The service was amazing. Great place to go for a casual evening out. We took a long walk there with our dog and they brought her a little water bowl; it was so considerate. The portions were huge. You can choose to order your stir fry with rice or extra vegetables, which is really great if you want a healthier option. Go check it out! :)

Came across here when craving Thai food one night for dinner. Food portions were small for the price. My chilli and basil pork belly was salty and lacked flavour so unfortunately I would not recommend.

Best Thai food I’ve had ever! Friendly staff and the food is divine. Tried many others around Australia and none even come close to how good this is!

The best best Thai food that we had in Gold Coast. I had Garlic and Pepper Stir Fry with Rice and it was so delicious. Homemade as it says. The staff is so friendly and interactive as well. Loved it. I went there again during my stay. An absolute must visit for everyone around.

Used to be really really good, with amazing flavours and great service. Everyone is still really friendly and helpful, but the food seems to have taken a turn for the worse. The flavours have become bland compared to their previous highs and tonight my beef tasted slightly like seafood... have noticed the drop off in food quality for quite some time but have still occasionally ordered. But tonight’s meal with the seafood beef is probably going to be the last meal.

Big call - may be the best thai place I've ever been to. Very authentic, and the promise of no MSG is a big tick especially in the asian cuisine. Ended up going here every night for a week on business trip.

The food at this small BYO restaurant is wonderful and tastes authentic - a world away from the standard Thai restaurant menu offering in Australia. All the pastes are made in-house and the food can be made to whatever heat you specify. The soups, curries and salads are excellent and we particularly loved the choo chee barramundi. The home made coconut ice cream and mango sticky rice are wonderful too. We've been here twice now and plan on coming again to sample more dishes. Authentic friendly staff too!!
