Review Reef Seafood And Sushi - Southport

Very bad service. Me And my friends went there with kids. We were told that few of foods were sold out so we only ordered few sushi for kids. Then we have to get something else from other shop. One guy looks like the manager or the one in charge came to us few times trying to kick us out, he was very rude and said we should seat in the park. What in the world! We explained that we have to sit with our kids and the point is we bought food from them. How bad is this experience! We are local and live nearby, hope people see this and take it as a warning!

I recently fell in love with chirashi from another sushi place, so I decided to try one here. The price was slightly dearer, but nonetheless it was very good! The rice was seasoned perfectly and it wasn't too hot to cook the sashimi on the top. Both the fish and the rice were very fresh and delicious. Also, the presentation of the meal was superb and the staff were very friendly. Thanks šŸ‘

Absolutely disgusting customer service here. Asked to leave as you were not allowed to sit at their tables with takeaway food (from their own shop) that we spent a substantial amount of money on, my choice I get that. Where else does that happen? If I buy a coffee in a takeaway cup then sit at the same cafe who I purchased off only to be then asked to leave because Iā€™m not having dine in makes absolutely no sense. But this is what this overpriced establishment does to its customers. Icing on the cake? Getting told that we can then dine if we get a plate. Sure, no problem I said. I asked politely for a plate to be told oh no no you need to go up and get it yourself. Amazing product - seriously overpriced though. But, to be fair the fish is beautiful quality. But the service?? Wow. Seriously lacking.

We love to have our lunch hear! The food is excellent, service spot on, but they are very busy at lunchtime. The gentleman concierge of the dining area is outstanding, he is polite and professional. We can sit with great food and a wine relax and people watch. Thanks very much, great.

Sashimi are really fresh and well cut. We ended up ordering an extra plate to share after we finished. Will definitely come back again.

Bad service, terrible sushi, expensive and terrible. what kind of sushi do Greek owners make? Not authentic! Sushi should be eaten in Japanese restaurant ! The boss was an old Greek man, fierce and strange. Not recommended to buy their food. Service attitude is the most important! This kind of shop should close early. No star service! Bad !

Very very overpriced seafood $33 dollars for this, barramundi (tiny) chips (few) And a few leaves as a salad I would of taken this back if I wasnā€™t so far away Avoid

Disgusting service, horrible ill mannered waiter. Definitely not recommended for a group of people as only the people who have ordered food from this place can sit at the tables. Do not recommend this place they are more interested in enforcing a strict only people who order ā€˜enoughā€™ can sit in their seats opposed to caring about customer service.

Superb quality, couldn't fault it.
We shop here all the time for fresh seafood to cook at home.
They also have a fresh sushi bar and eatery attached, so you can enjoy it is fresh as fresh can be.
We ate in, for the first time recently.
Ordered gold band snapper and chips ($28) to share and two sushi rolls.
The fish was superb. The sushi rolls huge ($9 each), the 2 of those were sufficient for a shared lunch in itself.
More expensive than your usual fish shop, but I'll accommodate that given the consistently excellent produce and friendly, well informed staff.
Tables were continually being cleared and cleaned by a friendly team member too

Great staff, nicely priced food. Especially like the sashimi and other seafood. Havenā€™t tried the hot meals but they look pretty good for the price.

Took my seafood loving boyfriend here for his birthday and he was inlove. He said the seafood was fresh and loved everything on the platter for 1-2. The only thing he was disappointed about was the uneven amount of fresh oysters to the seasoned ones. Limited options for vegetarians, compared the one in gasworks which had a larger variety to pick from.

I rarely rate places with 5 stars but Reef seafood and sushi was supurb!! Love their sashimi here because they are so fresh!! We got the fresh kingfish, salmon don set, chirashi set, crumbled oysters and the seafood curry. Every dish was so damn good and delicious!!

Sushi are fresh and full of goodies, no crap ingredient, black Rice sushi is a highlight and California is a must try if you are a fan of Caviar. We also had calamari n chips, hot and calamari is so tender and juicy, not greasy at all.

Awful food. The plate which the staff brought to us after waiting long time was quite different from the picture we ordered. The worst food i have ever experienced.

Reef large bento box is my favourite, matter of fact that's the only thing I ate here. Always a great lunch meal, prawn tempura is actually local large green prawns, maguro is top quality without any silver, salmon is super fatty as the way it should be. only shame is no wine was served with it, and the place is awkward to byo.

Excellent sushi and great value fish 'n chips. We go there occasionally and usually two of us share either whiting and chips or calamari and chips. Both come with salad and are enough for two if you're not a really big eater. Fish is always well-cooked, light and golden. It's hard getting decent F&C on the Gold Coast but you can't go wrong here. As for the sushi, it's absolutely top class.

Turning Japanesy. I absolutely adore this place. Nestled in the back of the Ferry Road markets complex, Reef offers very good quality fresh seafood dishes Japanese style. You know it's fresh as it is attached the Reef Seafood market. The menu is limited to about 10 or so items as well as sushi however everything they do here is great. My personal favourites are the Chirashi Don which is a bowl of rice topped with succulent pieces of sashimi, and the Panko Crumbed Whiting served with super crunchy fries, a side salad and a scrummy tartare sauce.
My hot tip is to order some oysters or prawns from the market with your meal, they are happy to plate it up for you.

Itā€™s pretty unusual for me to have twoĀ sushiĀ meals on the same day butĀ sushiĀ is my favourite food and as soon as I walked into theĀ Reef Seafood & SushiĀ my eyes were fixed on the delicioux sushi rolls!Ā ReefĀ is located inside Ferry Road Market in Gold Coast, the sister market of Brisbaneā€™s James Street Market . They have all sorts of gourmet sushi roll from Gold Coast Roll, Ā Alaskan King Crab Roll, Wagyu Beef Terriyaki Roll, Soft Shell Crab Roll, Grilled Salmon Roll, Spicy Chicken Roll, Eel RollĀ etcā€¦ NigiriĀ is $3 each orĀ Sushi PlatterĀ for $18 (s) or $20.5 (l), they also have a range of Sashimi Don (rice) and cooked meals like Tempura and Bento Box . Japanese chefs prepared the sushi on site, love the freshness! The largeĀ Sushi Platter hasĀ Hotate (scallop), Sake (salmon), Ebi (prawn), Hamachi (kingfish), Maguro (tuna), Tobiko (flying fish roe), Tamago (egg)Ā etc.. Oishiiiiiii~~~ Next time Iā€™ll definitely try their freshly shucked oysters!Ā Sydney Rock, Port Stephens, Tasman
