Review The Grill House - Southport

We had a fantastic time at the Grill House. We were kind of skeptical initially because of the number of negative reviews. However, after visiting the restaurant I can positively say that we had a great time. There was a nice selection of meat choices offered to us like different cuts of beef, lamb and sausages. The chef on duty had cooked the meat perfectly, tender and juicy with nice flavours of an authentic charcoal BBQ. The meats were brought to us in a very timely fashion as we were finishing our last serve. The buffet also had few salad choices, beef dish, lamb shanks and plenty of dessert options. So after our above experience we were quite puzzled why the bad reviews and the only conclusion we could come up with is the customer expectation of the "all you can eat" phrase. This isn't a traditional sort of buffet where you can help yourself to unlimited servings. Sure, you can help yourself to the buffet options but the meat servings are brought out as they are cooked by the chef. So depending on the number of customers in the venue on that particular day you may find service to be faster or slower than usual. Can this be improved? Sure, but considering this is a small business you have to be understanding of the amount of stock they can actually load up on the BBQ without a clear prediction of the turnout on that particular day. Hopefully this feedback gives owners of The Grill House something to work with. Overall, we had a truly enjoyable time here and would certainly return again.

Open for breakfast. Brazilian restaurant, serving acai bowl with a generous serve of hospitality. Will be back for buffet dinner with the family...

The people there seem nice which makes it hard for me to give them a 3 star review. I can tell they're really trying to make the restaurant work but they're inexperienced. The food wasn't very good. The entire restaurant was covered in a thick cloud of smoke. They brought the meats but something was off with them. The taste and texture wasn't very good. One of the dishes was super oily. The desserts weren't good. It was a very disappointing experience. Again, the owners seem like very nice people who are trying to make this work but unless they make some drastic changes, the place will not survive. I certainly will not be going back unless someone tells me their food has made a huge difference as this was probably one of the most disappointing meals of my life. I wish the owners all the best though.

Tried The Grill House tonight with my husband and brother in law and pleasantly surprised. The service was good the Chef was amazing so friendly and the meat kept on coming it was cooked perfectly. The buffet food is not really needed when you have the meat coming out so often and the star of the night. Dessert was good I had the chocolate cake and a hazelnut mousse. When we arrived there was only 1 table with people so we were a bit unsure (5:30pm) however we decided we would give it a go and glad we did and it started to get busier as we were there and the food was good we will be back thank you.

Have wanted to try this place for ages and finally did after browsing a fee menus from other restaurants. The wait staff came outside to greet me and talk me through specials which got me across the line finally tonight. From there the service was really personalised as it was close to closing. I ordered the mix platter and was really impressed with the quantity of meats, salad and side for the price. The meats were delicious and cooked to request. After paying the bill it was great to feel the happiness and appreciation for finally trying their restaurant, I'll definitely be back. Thanks Grill House team :)

Very disappointing... We had been looking forward to a Brazilian BBQ as we have had some great experiences in other places in the past but this place was a very poor example. Customer service was non-existent. No smiles from the staff at all and the waitress didn't seem to understand anything we said, I understand English as a second language is hard, but if she didn't understand "serviette" or "napkin" and the hand gestures we made she could have asked another staff member to help, however she just nodded as if she understood and walked away, and we never go our requested serviettes. Water was never refilled and no one acknowledged us departing, even the staff member at the front door as we passed her and looked at her totally ignored us... The buffet was ok... not a lot of choice though, and the one thing we were really looking forward to, the meat coming around on the skewers, was so far and few between with only 4 types of meat over a 1.5 hour period, were overcooked, tough and dry. Thank goodness we got the Group on Deal because if we paid full retail we'd be demanding our money back. I recommend the manager go visit a Japanese restaurant and learn what customer service is, and check out some other Brazilian restaurants to find out what Brazilian BBQ is supposed to be and try again.

Hi all, I’m Brazilian and this is definitely NOT a BRAZILIAN FOOD whatsoever!! Never seen red rice before! Beans served in some kind of buttery sauce ... rice was cold... 250g of meat ( chicken and beef) chicken was mostly bones and beef everyone can do better! Service was very poor, they had nothing on ! Everything was out, they were out of everything pretty much. First dishes arrived the rest came when the person has almost finished and we didn’t get to really eat all together. Very poor and would not recommend at ALL!! The menu has so many grammatical mistakes It’s ridiculous! Wouldn’t give 1 ⭐️

Very disappointing, we were there for two hours and they just served us two cuts of meat. There were not many choices in the buffet and no desserts. It supposed to be a Brazilian BBQ but unfortunately it is not. From the two cuts we got that night they were just beef when they promised chicken, lamb and a huge variety of meats. Definitely not going back.
