Review Rice House - Southport

We ordered LA galbi, spicy pork belly, squid and deep fried rice cake. The food here tasted wonderful. I highly recommend this restaurant!!

I just had fried chicken udon with veggie today, and I was very disappointed about that. The udon tasted very salty, I already asked the kitchen to check it again, but he tried my food, sent it back to me and said it is just normal taste. However, my friends tasted it as well and they can even eat a second spoon. Not only that, it was very busy today, a full house of customers, however, there were only 2 staffs in kitchen and one staff served at the front, food took so long to be ready, another customer also be angry and feel questioning as well :) Not recommend this place. Won’t be back again, thanks

Really nice place! Having cold noodles on a hot day is the best. The kimchi was really tasty and the portions are generous.

I went there past 12:30pm. Some customers were having there. Then just one men was looking after everything 😳 I had no time to wait longer but I couldn’t make him rush😓 I ordered OX tail soup $17 included steamed rice 🍚 It’s so tasty 🥰 I like it 👍🏻 It has clear noodle as well. The small dishes were quite good 😊 I hope he will get some staff soon.

Taste and price are at average level. It is a good choice as working meal. However, the fried chicken is overcooked and a little bit dry.

Best noodles in town! Smokey and flavoursome...the only way it could be any better is if I was actually in Korea.

This shop is awwwsome!!! At first, we ordered fired chicken and some other things, and because it's late afternoon, the staff told us no more chickens left, and there is one dude just rushing out and brought some for us!!! Like it !!!

Our favorite Korean restaurant! Such delicious food and great service! We pop in once a week for our "usual" (beef bulgogi with cheese mayo + kimchi soup) and have never been disappointed. Highly recommended!!

What a hidden gem! The food is absolutely amazing. Love this place...the service is very friendly and to top it off beers are only $5. As arnie would say..ill be back! 😋

Good proportions. Tasty and really spicy! Service could be a bit more cheerful in my opinion. Good Korean design of the restaurant too. Recommended for the Korean fix!

After restaurants renovation their food has improved immensely, have only tried a few items on the menu though they have been great. I recommended their sizzling bulgolgi, they also have great side dishes here.

The restaurant has had its improvements lately, thank goodness! The service is getting better because the boss himself is waiting staffs and the chick whom speaks little English wasn't there. Refurnished and new cutlery, serving plated have been added. Different presentation to the dishes were made, looking lovely. The taste could be better though~

The stir-fry dishes are of a standard quality, nothing outstanding. However I often judge a Korean restaurant by its soup dishes. I'm not too happy about the quantity considering the price. The kimchi soup had very little pork although it didn't taste too bad. I felt like they serve a little less rice compared to other Korean places. Ironic! The banchan side dishes were also OK. If you come here, stick to the stir-fry dishes and you shouldn't be disappointed.

Prompt service, good food and nice pricing. I've here a few times after uni and I've never been disappointed but I didn't have high expectations to begin with.

We sometimes visit Rice House just before closing time. I work for a restaurant so I know how they may feel when someone come late night. However they always serve us with smile.  Very good service.

Not bad at all. For a place thats copped a few bad reviews its jam packed tonight. We come here for the La ribs and spicy kimchi when its on. Either than that you get a good feed and great variety. I know there can be a cranky bloke here sometimes but generally it is a good spot.

Never go back there... Extremely bad attitude & bad service mixing up the food order then blaming me the customer!! I would recommend "NOT" going to that place & could never recommend the owner as he referred himself as nor his restaurant !

Disapointed. We order LA ribs(2) full with fatty today really disappointed,we being going thre for many years n lately serving ribs full fatty stuff,you need to go back to the suplier before ok.otherwise your restaurant going down to bad reputation even worst.

Terrible... We ordered a few simple dishes..one was teriyaki & the other chicken soup & received pork! Which I asked the owner politely to change & he refused saying no I won't ! I said you made a mistake & he then said no you did!<br/>I said I was very disappointed in his attitude & know that there's lots of restaurants on the Gold Coast..

Highly recommend this place. Tried most of the menu and cant fault anything. All fresh and amazing flavors. The service is great and has a simple relaxed atmosphere.

The Rice house is amazing food and great service. We eat here all the time and as an ex chef I have no hesitation in recommending it to fellow chefs friends and family.<br/>Food is always cooked perfectly and the balance of flavours are spot on.<br/>It's great to try a new dish every time we go there and have never been disappointed.<br/>If you have eaten there you will know what I am talking about and if you haven't eaten there yet, you are in for a treat that will have you coming back again and again. <br/>I cannot say enough good things about this family run local business.<br/>Some of the tastiest food I have ever eaten.

My wife and I go here regularly for a quick and cheap meal. She's coeliac so rice house is one of the few low cost options available, normally we need to go a bit more 'fine dining'. Rice house is good honest food and it's always fresh. They know her order now and she doesn't even need to ask. The hot stone rice bowls are great value, and I also like the teriyaki pork. Don't judge it by it's signage, go in there and give it a go. We've peeked at the kitchen too, and it's clean! :)

Rice House looks suitably low key and has plenty of happy Korean diners, so we dig in.
