Review Max Brenner Southport - Southport

Average and I was underwhelmed. Max Brenner had the wow factor in the past but today was nothing special. Coffee order size was wrong and temperature warm. I did raise this with the Barista and he said would bring me another over which never arrived. Ordered the waffles which were ok but didn't seem fresh. When you cut into them they didn't cleanly slice they were mashed and broke apart and crumbled as if old and stood too long. Overall a good experience and the food ok, place is clean and well kept. Service was not very cheerful as the staff looked like they didn't want to be there. I was charged for public holiday service 10% even though New Years Day is not a public holiday as it fell on a Saturday. Monday is the public holiday in lieu. I believe could be a thriving and fun experience if they made more effort. The MB in Broadbeach more lively and welcoming, I'd travel further South where you'd probably feel more value. For a simple catch up and a coffee or a dessert experience or both! Not expecting such a decadent afternoon tea but not saying no 😉 From the chocolate dipped strawberries and hot chocolate, a simple (Hahaha) vanilla milkshake, chocolate cookie and a thick shake - it was all yummy and hit the sweet spot! Service was really quick and staff were friendly and helpful 😃

Salted caramel Crepe cake & choc-nut fudge brownie with chocolate ice cream. 100% recommended! The milk classic almond hot chocolate it’s from other planet 😋

3 people working, only 1 was wearing a single glove. Only three of the tables where cleared and that's because people who hadn't got their orders were sitting in those tables. We got two iced lattes with added chocolate and one was just milk and chocolate with the tiniest bit of coffee, the other was filled with coffee which was burnt. Thank the heaven's we didn't get food because we saw one of the employees rearranging the front food cabinet with her bare hands and another employee just watched on without any care in the world. When the tables eventually got cleared they were not wiped down or anything like they should've been and the cleaning chemicals were just laying around the front unattended with children running around. So whoever was working on Sunday march 27th need to get their act together or even better have they're positions reconsidered.

A friend and I we was looking for a delicious hot chocolate yesterday in the night. We went to max Brenner, expecting a delicious thick chocolate in a mug , unfortunately the service doesn't was good, The counter attending us trying to rid off of us quickly , the served the chocolate in cups for take away and chocolate was watery. The place isn't was full and went I asked for a mug, they just told me that they ran out of mugs, a few tables available but dirty , we just drunk or watery chocolate and left soon. I've being working in hospitality and I understand when the place is short staff some things could happens but at least the staff can do the effort for change the experience and have good vibes with the customers.

Came here thinking it was going to be quiet for a Monday but the store was almost full! The girl running the bar (I think the manager) was absolutely brilliant, the most efficient worker always kept a smile on her face despite being run off her feet and interacted with customers superbly. The other locations I’ve been to could take a leaf out of her book that’s for sure, will definitely be back!!

We were not happy with our sundae. It looked great but not so tasty.. the place was nice and quiet though..

We loved the coffee and hot chocolate here.The staff are very polite and friendly.The waffles is superb.Loved it.Will come back again soon and always 😊
