Review Goto Japanese Restaurant - Southport

Wow! This place amazed me so much!! From the moment I walk in, I just know this is authentic Japanese food. The food was really yummy and authentic Japanese with a hint of fusion. Bare in mind the price of the food can be a bit pricey, but it is definitely worth it if you are celebrating an occasion!! The portion can be a little bit bigger tho.

The food taste fresh and yummy. The wait staffs were attentive as well. The only down point was the waiting time for our food. Took around 15 minutes for starter and another 30 mins for mains, while the table next to us keep getting their food and we got our food the same time like the table came 10 minutes after us. Ordered the campon noodles, the soup taste yummy, big portion for $18 but mostly cabbage and bean sprout, very little protein, but can not complaint much with the price. I had the bowl with various sashimi on top of sushi rice, all the seafood taste fresh, sweet, melt in my mouth, but I don't know why the wasabi taste bland and doesn't have any kick into it. Tataki taste okay, maybe need more dressing into it, we only taste little yuzu taste on it

Best place for Japanese food, we love coming here. Make sure to book on weekends, if not you will miss out.

Superb and fresh. Very fast service. Slightly pricey but their bento's are quite filling. Try their spicy endamame beans as well. Very good experience. Will drop by again to explore other menu items as well.

Food is fresh and nice. But we wait for 30 mins for first dish to come ( a sashimi entree). I suppose the waiting time shouldn’t be that long. host is busy sitting new customers, we can’t get their attentions when we want to make orders. Recommend come earlier or later at the night, not at their peak time. We will like to come back.

Sashimi is high quality and you can tell straight away from the first bite! Great mixture of sashimi on a bed of rice with miso soup to cleanse the palate. The wait times for the food were a little longer than other places and the prices are up there, but the quality is worth it in my opinion. Defintitely come early in the evening and book a table in advance because this place gets busy quite quickly. Great for a fancy date night when you aren't afraid to splurge a little.

We went to celebrate my husband's birthday tonight and we were again very impressed with the quality of their food (freshest sashimi ever!) and customer service. Thank you for making our date night more special.

Champon, which inherits the secret taste of Goto, Nagasaki Prefecture, and the sashimi creation that has been scrutinized, have a taste that cannot be tasted even in Japan. It’s so look amazing.
