Review Restaurant 323 - Springvale

priya jana
My second time ordering salt and pepper chicken ribs with large rice + mango smoothie. I also added special instructions to add extra onions for me and they did. 5/5 Tom yum soup - They served tom yum soup very different from what I know tom yum soup to be. The description didn't mention either that it will be with noodles and seafood. I didn't enjoy it very much though, as I was expecting just soup with veggies and mushroom. 2/5

Loving the fine crispy noodles which are airy and remain crispy throughout the meal. A generous of meats and veggies with a rich sauce. The pho comes with lightly cooked meats which work well for when the soup is poured on top on the noodles and meat. Perfect for take away and friendly staff

The food was great, even take away is still good. Staff are friendly and polite. Hand down the best customer service so far.

Wow wow wow, what can I say! This is one to try cheap and excellent food! It’s a hidden gem which is now my Vietnamese restaurant I go to. The staff are so nice and the boss is funny! 😜☺️

No matter how many times I come here with family, the food is just spot on for Vietnamese/Chinese cuisine. In addition, service is 11/10. Keep it up!

This is my go to in Springvale when I want a tasty meal with great service. Staff are always super friendly and the food is always yum. Love the bun, broken rice and some of the Chinese dishes too. Highly recommend!

Really nice flavours with generous servings at affordable prices! Their food is not too salty either which is always a bonus. Love their bbq pork char kuey teow, diced beef & rice and massive variety of noodle dishes. Service is always spot on as well! Definitely recommend to anyone

Just had my lunch over here, and we grab the beef pho and seafood fried rice. Would love to give 5 for the pho cAused it’s super tasty, but unfortunately the fried rice is the way to plain for me :( but they give lots of topping in the fried rice! So 👍🏼
The staff were superb friendly!!! Great place to dine in with a reasonable price 🧡

I very much enjoyed the food and ambience. Especially the salt and pepper main dishes were just superb. Above all the service is just outstanding. I'll definitely be taking my family back to eat again!

From entering to exiting the experience was flawless. Large serving sizes, great value and more importantly the service was 10/10. Ordered the beef pho, salt and pepper calamari and prawn spring rolls and all tasted great. Make this a regular!

After checking out the reviews on Zomato, we decided to give this place a go. This place didn t disappoint. We had chicken pho, vermicelli and beef and bun xeo. Everything was divine. The portion is very big too. Wouldnt mind coming back

I came here on recommendation from a family member with some friends. We each ordered a 3 coloured drink which came with fresh shaved ice and was lovely and refreshing. We had 3 mains, a pancake and 2 traditional noodle soup dishes which were all freshly made with accompaniments and tasted delicious with zingy flavours. The service was super friendly and efficient, seems to be family run which I'm a fan of supporting.
Will definitely be back to this gem next time I'm in the area.

Everything I have ordered here has been delicious. The food is fresh and tasty and they also do great coffee. The staff are always friendly and efficient. Will continue to come back!

Lovely little place run by very nice friendly people. Service is prompt and efficient. Food is great especially if you stick to Vietnamese favourites (lemongrass chili beef/chicken etc). Com Bo Luc Lac is, IMO, the single best meal in Springvale. Pricing is fine and there's a wide range of Chinese dishes, drinks etc as well.

Staff is very friendly and helpful.
Food is excellent as well!!!
My favourite is their salt and pepper squid! 😍
I am just in love with how crunchy and savoury it is.
Freshly cooked just for you.
Reasonable price for the quality.
Always always always go back. 👍

I've been here once and once is all I'll ever go.

I came with my family a few months ago. We ordered pho, shaking beef, bun bo hue and drinks. Food was nice. Decent. Prices reasonable. Friendly service.

What I didn't like was when I went to the toilet (which you have to walk through the kitchen to get to), I walked past chicken and various meats just sitting in tubs around the place. Not refrigerated. Not wrapped up away from flies. That put me off. And the toilet was disgusting.

Enough said.

Been going here for a bit over a year or so and I can their food is amazing for cheap prices!! Would recommend the Beef Pho special which has loads of flavours compared to the other restaurants in the area. The lady who serves us is always happy, warm and welcoming every since the first time going too! It’s very clean and quiet too, which is great if you wish to enjoy your meal in comfort.
Bun's Food Diaries
We decided to try out this resturant after frequenting the restaurants on the other side at Buckingham Avenue, which is somewhat more central.
This was a decent pick, the restaurant was a good size, nice and quiet on this week night and staff were friendly to deal with and speak good English. Was good we were seated opposite the TV and could enjoy a meal tuning into the news.
We had the seafood char kway teow and beef on noodles, both being nice. The beef was a little too salty, however. They didn't have the banana sticky rice with ice-cream that I had wanted so we settled for the fried ice-cream. This was alright.
Another plus about this place is that they do take card (minimum spend $10), unlike the many that do cash only in the area.

Came here for some combination crispy egg noodles, but it came out as a stir fry instead, why does this keep happening to me! Maybe their seafood version comes with crispy noodles, I have no idea. Just another case of lost in translation.
Regardless it had been awhile since I've revisited and not many people come here at night because of where it's located. The food here is pretty solid, my meal in particular was generous (they aren't stingy with the meat) and I can only imagine how great it'd taste with those crispy crispy noodles covered in all that sauce. Next time.

LIT!: we ordered the beef on flat noodles and seafood combination on crispy noodles. Considering that it came out relatively fast, I was expecting sloppy dishes but this place really surprised me. The beef was tender and the dishes tasted fresh!

NOT SO LIT: the noodle to beef ratio was off.. or maybe they were too generous with the meat.

Thanks for having us! X
Justin
Food was delicious and service was great! The lady serving us was always smiling and very kind. The crispy noodle was the standout. The kitchen is pretty visible so you are able to watch the chef make your food. Will definitely be back here soon!

What a fantastic dinner! A random recommendation from a friend turned out to be fabulous. We had the rice vermicelli salad with spring rolls, beef & broccoli and beef pho. Super affordable- only $35.50 for all three dishes and a drink! They were all fresh and delicious. The waitress was so sweet & polite. I highly recommend this restaurant . We will be back soon!!!

Cheap, authentic and delicious food. Spring rolls, crispy fried chicken on rice and seafood laksa were just delicious. Good service as well. I will definitely come back

Ordered take away on a Saturday night - took 1.5 hours to arrive! They were apologetic and gave us a free drink though. Food was nice and fresh - had chicken and vegetables in Mongolian sauce (very spicy!) and combination crispy egg noodles. Would go again

Ordered satay chicken noodle and chicken skewer. Horrible. Satay chicken noodle is bland, the chicken skewer with the peanut butter sesame sauce did not go well together, the chicken are overcooked.
Overall bad experience
Riko Marchant
Tried the salt and pepper squid and the Vietnamese pancake. Both tasted good, large serves, decent value. Came with the usual complimentary tea.
Michelle Kulik
Good food, good prices, atmosphere needs a little work though.
Had the special fried rice and prawn spring rolls, both very nice and simple.
Sam Clifton
Wonton soup was decent, Tom yum was surprisingly good 👍🏻. Always come cos it's a cheap eat and costs under $40 for two mains and an entre

layout of the restaurant is spacious and has friendly staff. Thin crispy deep fried noodles shaped as a bird's nest has the right amount of sauce and a variety of meats and vegies. Broken rice and springrolls is average.

Good food for a cheap price. Would recommend if on a budget and wanting authentic Vietnamese food. The special dice beef is one of my favourite dishes here that rarely disappoints.

Always come here for Pho Beef. Very lovely staff whom are always in a positive mood. I usually come here twice a week to eat and mingle with staff. Allen the owner is very respectful and friendly.

Have been here a few times. They do great Vietnamese food, not too busy and very clean premises. Never had a bad meal here. Highly recommended...

Got tthe curry laksa and loved it. Usually when ordering one from other restaurants in the area the dish is vey bland and watery, but his one was packed full of chicken ,seafood, tofu and vegetables and extremely tasty. The restaurant was clean and staff were very friendly
Rice Sistar
Went there first time tonight for a quick bite . The restaurant is quite clean and big compare to the other restaurants in Springvale. Ordered a serve of prawn spring rolls and bowl of chicken pho . It was ok . Nothing special . No wow factor . Might try different dishes next time and see

I have been here several times for the raw beef and lemon salad and it is very nice. Great flavours. The banh Sao ( Vietnamese style pancake) is also very nice and well known in the area from this place, both dishes I recommend if eating here. This restaurant also has noodle bar where you can pick from many fresh ingredients to make your perfect noodle box

Great, clean restaurant in Springvale. I've frequented this place a dozen times. Love their spring rolls and pho (although, sometimes the soup could be hotter).

They have a noodle bar and a hugh range of noodle varieties. Coffee is pretty decent.

Wait staff are also lovely to deal with.

I must admit. I don’t spend a lot of time exploring the local restaurants and cafe near where I live. There are definitely a few restaurants I’d recommend anyone to go and eat at, but there are just so many new restaurants popping up left right and centre. Open early on most days this well spaced, clean and spaciously designed establishment is a great place to catch up with friends for great Vietnamese food. I have been spending the entire month of July working crazy hours and putting off many catch up sessions with friends. I did go out a couple of times, but didn’t have the time update the blog. For that, I humbly apologize. Having said that, be prepared for MORE back posts dated in July. I’ve been hearing some decent reviews about Cafe 323 and so I thought it was about time I gave the restaurant a chance. Previously, this cafe was owned by a different group way back in my primary school years. The sandwich orders we’d g

Nothing is veg here. Had dinner at Cafe 323 in Springvale last week. Bad experience. Menu has a few veg options however waiter advises they are all cooked with chicken stock. That's it ... sorry about that.

I won't be back

Really nice place to eat - met my hubby here & we both had singapore noodles - wow!! Delicious! We will be back

Staff was very friendly and service was great. Dietary requests were delivered without fail. Food was also very nice. Will definitely come back if I'm ever in the neighbourhood
Little.miss
Food was ok, nothing special. Clean tables and food presentation, however not as authentic as some of the other places in the area. It's in the entertainment book though, which imakes the meal a real bargain

Fesh food, great staff. continue to go back. Highly recommend this place. Big servings at a cheap price. Salt and pepper calamari, satay skewers, rice paper rolls (with an amazing satay style dipping sauce) and Spring rolls with Vermicelli noodles are fantastic! Staff are friendly and attentive. Free fill ups of tea are massive plus and the food comes out pretty quickly. Have gone back at least half a dozen times in the last year or so and will continue to do so!

Good food. A tad noisy on a Friday night with lots of families eating there. Yummy food and I loved the fried rice - probably the nicest I've ever tasted.
I Love To Eat
Something for everyone. There are a lot of places to eat in springvale & a lot of variety in the food on offer. Cafe 323 would have to be one of our favourites. The Inferno noodles & Pho soup is delicious and the kids love the spring rolls. Try the lemongrass chicken. If your a bit anxious about trying vietnamese food this would be a great place to start as the restaurant has a really relaxed feel to it and is very clean. The staff are always friendly and helpful. We live 3hrs away and everytime we visit Melbourne we always have at least one meal here.

The free tea was rly nice!

Just a few days ago i found something about this place i thought is interest to share. The owner lady recommend me the food she say to me its one her fave dish BUT SHE IS VEGETARIAN!! She lied 1 time. Then i ask about the food what oil is use they tell me 100% cholesterol free, it's BLENDED PIG FAT!! Horrible place, would never return!!

Defintely one of the best places to get coffee in Springvale. Fast, cheap and the staff are always friendly!
JaniNe Hui TiNg
Good vietnamese coffee. Had the 'famous' lemongrasd chicken. Was so-so. Probably too over hype. The portion is rather disappointing as well. Will only come back for coffee.

Cosy with delicious food. Love the food here. Service is very friendly. Prices are affordable. Cosy atmosphere. Been coming here for a while now ever since it opened. New dishes like broken rice and pho are definitely new favourites.
Teresa
Great food. This is a great find! Really nice vietnamese food. You must try the lemongrass chilli chicken. Staff are friendly and polite
Linda Kurniawan
Excellent service and fresh food. This is the only place I would travel to Springvale for. Service is excellent, always smiling and attentive. Loved the noodles and ingredients are fresh. The lemongrass chicken is worth noting too, very tasty and fresh. The best thing is, you leave the restaurant with a good, healthy feeling - that is saying something about the freshness of their ingredients. Two thumbs up

FRESH FRESH FRESH. Would have never eaten in a place like springvale, and probably never will.....
BUT saying that you must try their fresh noodles, soups, rice dishes and their coffees. Staff are very friendly. Get in for a meal for tea, I guarantee it will be cheaper than cooking a meal at home and will be 1000 times better. Great location parking at rear, and to not miss out make a booking they are only happy to help.

Spicy squid. The best i have ever had, the food always comes out fresh, service is great.
All great flavours of vietnam. Highly recommend, cleanest place in springvale. give it a go and love to hear more reviews.

This little restaurant is now open for dinner Thursday - Saturday it has great Vietnamese food. Try the lemon grass chili chicken or salt & pepper squid both delicious. Very reasonably priced. Highly recommend.

Like it!. Quick and cheap...

Great find. Had the spring rolls and the lemongrass chicken here and it was really good. Girlfriend had beef with chinese broccoli and stole some bites. Bright and airy place with warm and friendly service. Highly recommend.
Amy Nguyen
Love coming here in the morning to get my daily fix of coffee. Keen on trying to the noodle box too.
Jimena
New cafe in Springvale. Agree with others, coffee here is surprisingly good. Had the special fried rice from the noodle box bar area and it was really yummy. Friendly staff, good service, nice place.
The Food Lover
Maybe not!. Had a sandwich the other day, it was very ordinary, plain and tasteless just like rabbit food. I prefer a Vietnamese porkbread roll in the Springvale Centre cost only $3.5 and very filling. I also had a coffee, it tastes like my coffee machine at home nothing special, maybe Springvale is not a place for Latte/Cuppucino? I still prefer Gloria Jeans coffee never fails me.

I wanted to try the noodle box thing, Second thought "nah" don't wanna ruin my appetites. So I went to the proper Vietnamese restaurant instead for hearty meal.
Spencer Hodges
Great Coffee. It's hard to find a good coffee in Springvale, so if you find yourself around Cafe 323, stop in and do yourself a favour! Good service too, I'll be back
The Muscle Man
FINEST. The coffee is so good
Bangela Button
Cheap food, good location. Variety of western food on the menu or noodles in a box... friendly staff, and ample parking at rear... even have their own coffee maker, good for a quick bite...
Coffeeaddict
Highly recommended. Pleasantly surprised when I walked into cafe 323. Just looking for a quick snack after going to the post office and ended up having a very satisfying lunch. Had inferno noodle box that was freshly made and a strong latte. Coffee was top notch, and better than others in Springvale. Will definitely return

AMAZING! Food, coffee & service!. Walk into this quaint cafe early in the morning and get great and piping hot coffee and breakfast for the early commuters like me. The menu is appealing and has a large variety. The sandwich bar is fresh and delicious. AND to top it off, the staff are friendly and their service is great.

I recommend this to anyone who needs a good cup of coffee, or for just meeting with friends and for people who want a good meal that isn't overpriced and fills you up!

Cafe 323, you have defiantly impressed!
Marcopolo
I'll avoid the sandwich make with the vietnamese bun a better contender. Mocha is subpar. maybe the noodles might be better
Imre Bajusz
Great Coffee and Noodles. I had a really good coffee and some great noodles at Cafe 323 on a recent visit to Springvale. After choosing my own ingredients, they were cooked freshly while I waited. The staff were friendly and I will definitely return when next in Springvale again.
