Review Thien Phu Restaurant - Springvale

Grilled pork is pretty average. Tastes like any other Vietnamese/Chinese restaurant. What stood out was the chicken ribs. I haven't had any tasty ribs in a while. However, I only rate this 4 stars because of the spring rolls, it had an odd taste to them. I would be happy to eat here again if I needed to.

When owners of years back was there food and service exceptional. New owners came in food standards declined as did the service. Grubs in soup, raw Seaford and when questioned they grabbed it and re dipped it in hot oil until it cooked through without giving you a new one. Black hair through food and when questioned they laughed and would say that is okay and just take it out. Yuk! Yuk! Yuk!

I tried this place for lunch today. I didnt really know what i wanted so asked the waitress for a dry thick hokein style rice noodle with some ground pork stirfy on top and spicy. The dish arrived quite quickly with some fried ground pork and some slices of red pork on top of some blanched bok choy and thin egg noodles. I had to ask for chopped chillies as there was no spice in the dish and pointed out that they were not rice noodles. However. The flavour was good and i thoroughly enjoyed it. Cheap at $10 to boot!

Our first visit we were not greeted by anyone, seated ourselves. After a few minutes we weregreeted and given the menu. After passing us a few times we were finally asked if we were ready to order, our order was not noted surprisingly she remembered our whole order we did note our order down ourselves just incase. Food came quickly not sure if it was because they weren't busy, but food was DELICIOUS we all enjoyed it and also ordered dessert which was also very nice so four stars for the wonderful food will definitely be back 🙂🙂

Used to be ok but not now. Second review.....ordered a special fried rice take away today. The container was about 3 quarter full when I opened it at home. Called them and told them of my disappointment. The answer was also disappointing " I'll let the kitchen know".......no apologies at all.

I told the waitress to make sure there is no coriander as I'm allergic. They served my food and it had coriander in it. They apologized very nicely and fixed it.. but to my surprise there was still coriander in my food. Other than that the food is great .

As I went in to eat for one person I waited 20mins for my one dish to come out. When the dish arrives at my table it's not what I ordered. Terrible service here. Will never go back.

Eat here regularly and can't fault the flavor and freshness of the food. Grilled pork vermicelli is my go-to dish.

I know this place that's out of the hustle and bustle of Springvale central that has a decent pho. Its cheap and nasty and its pretty damn good

Came her for Saturday arvo lunch. Ordered the beef pho - and yes, that’s all I got. Literally. A big bowl of broth with a block of 2 minute noodles and some beef swimming in it. No bok choy, broccoli or any other greens at all (of course there are bean shoots and chilli on the side). The pho was ok. May try going there again but will make sure I specify extra vegetables in the pho.

A visit here was unfortunately regretful. After waiting some time to be acknowledged, I was seated and brought a sticky menu. The standard gratis tea was old and cold. I ordered and waited more than a reasonable amount before being slid a wet omelette. I was asked for more than what the menu stated, until I corrected them. No smiles from the staff, not very tasty food, pretty sticky environment. I'll look elsewhere for a cheap and cheerful food in this part of Melbourne, because there are plenty of options.

Disgusted!
Found a strand of hair in my noodle soup. Parents thought it was from the bean sprouts but then I pulled it out and you can clearly see the transition of the black hair to white hair. Asked the staff to come over so we could confront them. Staff looked and apologised then walked away as if it was nothing. Might be a typical thing in Vietnam but not here! She went to another colleague and specifically said 'she just complained there's hair in her food that's all.' Didn't even bother to notify kitchen staff.
I Walked past the kitchen to use toilet and you can clearly see staff entering in and out of kitchen without hair nets. Have taken photos and will definitely be reporting this.

Overall the place was alright, cleaner than your average suburban asian place, but not worth a long drive. Suitable for lunch with a friend who likes to try new things, but not a date.
Unsure. I wouldn't recommend eating pho (beef noodle soup in their menu) here, the soup i found very bland and the meat was a little tough and it felt like it was lacking in ingredients in the bowl.
Not sure about their other dishes though

What a absolout joke of a restaurant 1 hour for fur and diced beef and the restaurant is litterally dead they served obvious friends before us even tho we were here first. This place used to be good now its an absolute joke.

Nice. I like Thien Phu, great meals at great prices and fantastic friendly staff! They always have a smile to greet you with and are willing to change the meals to suit your taste if required. Have been coming here for years with my family and friends, and will keep coming back.

Thuan Phu is a humble little restaurant in a very small shopping centre in Springvale South. They have the typical set up with chairs and tables (der), a brightly coloured paint job and fluoro chop sticks to match. The menu was a little surprising – lots of Chinese options with only a beef pho section (no chicken). Doesn’t matter! Dad ordered the beef pho with the lot, I just got plain beef and Dave got the egg noodle soup with BBQ pork. We also ordered a plate of rice paper rolls to share.
