Review Big Mama's Pizza - Springvale

First time ordering from here. Very disappointed for what I got for $35. I've had thicker cardboard boxes than what these were. So thin and devoid of toppings. Considering I got 3 pizzas for the same price last week that were twice as thick with toppings from another store. I definitely won't be a returning customer.

Do not go here! I got a large bbq chicken pizza and it’s the worst pizza I have ever eaten there was the littlest bit of chicken on my pizza and the pizza base was paper thin and the pizza was very dry, chewy, and simply disgusting :(

TERRIBLE TERRIBLE. Just stay away from this please. I ordered vegetarian pizza and came with burn mushrooms on top n tomato sauce n a few onions. Thats it. Most disgusting pizza I ever tasted in life. The bread was soggy. Had to throw it away. My 7 years old nephew cooks better pizzas than this.

Went there n ordered two pizzas, told me to wait about 15 min but pizza was not ready even after 25 min. When we reached home and opened pizzas, one of the was overcooked and burnt and the taste was very blunt. We are very very disappointed and Never gona come back to this shop.

Pizza was undercooked, couldn’t eat more than one slice. Ordered and paid through the website but my order hasn’t been processed so had to wait more than half an hour at the restaurant which is disappointing because I was expecting to simply pick up my order. Bad experience as a first time customer 👎🏻

Not happy I ordered a deal 2 for delivery which consist of pasta,garlic bread and a drinkwhen I got the delivery it only had the pasta and drink no garlic bread also I asked for the chicken and mushroom pasta with tortellini but instead I got it with penne I will not be ordering from here very disappointed

I ordered Vegetarian pizza and for the price I expected fair amount of Veggies in it but all I was able to find was too much cheese. When you are charging $14.90 for a SMALL PIZZA please make sure to put Capsicum, Onion, Pineapple, Oregano. I was only able to taste Olives in it. First time I ordered but disappointed now :(

Gotta say 1 of the best pizzas I've had and I have had plenty as a pizza lover. Had big mamas a few times now, never disappointed only better. All the ingredients go well together, not ur average pizza. Do urself a favour and give it a try. Oh the ribs are amazing too and not to mention the staff are sensational.

One of the best pizza's I've eaten, I had the cheeseburger pizza, and it was great. Who knew potato tasted good on pizza? I also got the delicious wings, great to share with family and friends. I wish I could eat more but I'm full, and satisfied. I will be checking out some more of their variety of not just pizza but food. Well done Mama, grazie delizioso!

Awesome pizza! Such a good variety of different pizza's, they even have hot dog's. Delivered on time too!

Very disappointed family, with unanimous opinion about your pizza's. Hard crust with minimal ingredients on each of our meals. We had to search for the smoked salmon on one pizza and rang about the missing prosciutto. Not a great first impression for a family looking for a new pizza place.

Absolute wow! Massive menu full of mouth watering treats. The Mediterranean Lamb and Mexicana pizzas that I got stuck into were so incredibly tasty.

Visited Big Mama's Pizza for dinner recently, pizza is quite nice, they have a load of variety to choose from but nothing really stands out and its your average pizza place. Has loads of potential but pretty average at the moment, can get the same quality at any pizza shop.

Tried this place for the first time and I wasn't disappointed. The base was the highlight, crispy with plenty of air in the dough. Topping proportions where well balanced with very little oil. Definitely return again.

They are not bad these lot. Good pizza for the price. I like that the base is thin and the toppings are decent portions. Ive never got the top of the range but im pretty happy with the traditionals. For the price i can say they dont disappoint. Cheers.

Ordered margarita and vegetarian pizzas to be delivered. Both pizzas were very delicious! (They said all their pizzas are thin crust, and I love thin crust pizzas over the normal thicker crusts...) Great value too. I plan to order from here again...  :)

Hotdog pizza, simply a new creation. Just love it. Surely recommended to try this, this guys are just awesome in terms of their creation lot of new varieties of food, It's only a American style pizza place.

This is the very best pizza shop ever as i do not<br/>normally get pizza i tried the smoked salmon pizza and finished the whole lot when normally I would probably be happy with one slice never finish one myself oh im normally a pasta person and their carbonara is my favourite but guys you must try their dessert pizzas they are just pure heaven in your mouth lovley owners happy too accommodate your order xx<br/>

The service was ok, but the BBQ chicken wings were not fresh, didn't taste right and I felt sick after eating them. Wouldn't go back again...

I Iove this petite place! Pizzas are absolutely amazing! Prices are decent, it's definitely worth going there! My favourite is the Garlic Prawns!

Delicious pizza. Pizzas are yummy. The chocolate mousse however came frozen like a brick of ice :(

Big mamas pizza best in melbourne. I am a pizza fan but big mamas pizza was something that really suprised me the mexicana I had was really tasty and then the highlight of the menu the desert pizza with nutella and strawberry , wets my appetite just thinking about it . Over all the service the menus , the quality of the ingredients and the desert pizza big mamas pizza is a gem and I will definitely be recommending them too all of my friends .

Choose one of their 'classic' pizzas. It was very poor. Produce in it was dry and overcooked. Crust was not great either. Def not a place I would revisit.

Amazing pizza! Brilliant owners!. Can I just say that I have never had such a delicious pizza in my life! The owners were more than happy to accomodate changes! Good location with parking and the hours of business are awesome!

Best tasting Pizza and a superior customer service. Months ago I stumbled across this place as many other outlets were closed. Entered this place and was greeted with such a friendly smile. Had a chat with the owner, then ordered a couple of Pizzas. What can I say, the pizza was that great, I couldn't wait and tucked into it straight away. Talk about such a generous amount of toppings. Tasted so fresh and quality ingredients. <br/>Best thing about this place, is when every time my partner and I walk in, we are on a first name basis, they always know what we want and the awesome chats we have are gold!!! Although I live about 25minutes from this pizza it's worth the drive 10/10

Tried the Mexicana pizza and buffalo wings.... It was delicious!!! Don't forget about that dessert pizza... Hmmmm it's just perfect for the salted caramel lover like me! Definitely going to try some more:)

Really nice pizza. Have passed this place (just off Police Rd) a lot and decided to pop in and try them tonight.<br/>They know how to make pizzas - a lovely crust, fresh ingredients and cooked to perfection.<br/>I'll be heading back - next week.

Gourmet Meal at Mama's Prices. I flew into Melbourne from Sydney yesterday, looking forward to enjoying a good meal in this exciting city. In the end, nothing really caught my fancy, and anything that looked good was WAY overpriced. I ended up heading to my hotel in Clayton and ordering delivery from Big Mama's Pizza. I'll be honest, I wasn't expecting much. But boy oh boy was I wrong. This was an outstanding meal that was so good that, for the first time in my life, I ended up calling the restaurant up and letting them know how happy I was. I got a garlic prawn pizza and the absolutely awesome buffalo devil wings! <br/><br/>I have a tradition of saving the best bit for last. This time I was in real trouble because I couldn't decide whether to finish on the pizza or the wings. It seems silly looking back, but I actually had a mini debate in my head about this. To be honestly though, today I can't remember which I chose. It's just a blur of a good memory. <br/><br/>If you ever visit Monash Uni, like I was, try this place. That's an order. I liked it so much, I'm actually, right this moment, contemplating skipping a formal conference dinner just to oder something different from Big Mama's tonight. Ros Collett. Best Pizza place in the area and there are many. Getting to be a weekly event. I love Big Mama's Special and my husband will kill for the ribs. Has had many past owners (not impressive at all) but these ones are here to stay. Always on time, Delivery person so friendly you want to invite them in for dinner. Cannot be beaten and we have tried many. Thank goodness we live around the corner and know about this gem. Can't go wrong with quality, taste, service, speed

Best.... Take-away....EVER. As an Italian, I LOVE my pizza and pasta... I have tried so many places as most would. But there is nothing like Big Mama's. The service here is excellent and the staff are extremely friendly. The pizza, pasta, wings and dessert pizza's are outstanding. Big Mama's is a must. I order here every week. sometimes 2 - 3 times a weeks on lazy days when I dont want to cook :p Do try it and see for yourself..You will not be disappointed

Amazing service. Ordered 6.7.2014. The were almost closing but still did our order for delivery. Very quick service and pizza was the best iv had in a long time the base was perfect!! Thin crispy on the edge and not yucky and doughy. Almost like pan fried pizza. Love it will only order from here from now on

EDIT 21/05/16 - Unfortunately since we wrote our original review our opinion has changed for the worst. Two out of three of our last orders had major issues. The most recent order was a home delivery quoted for 40-50 minutes, and it was an hour and 7 minutes, which is just unacceptable considering we live all of 3kms away. The pizza that arrived was cold and soggy and I get the impression that it had been sitting in the car through multiple deliveries. The bases on two of the pizzas we got tasted stale - suspect because the order was a Tuesday night maybe these were leftovers from Sunday night when they were last open. The order prior to that the lady making the pizza put dill mayonnaise on my gourmet BBQ meat lovers instead of BBQ sauce. For what they're charging and the inconsistency in their product, I really wouldn't bother with this pizza shop. <br/><br/>~~~We'd driven past here nearly every day, but only just stopped in, and wow. I don't actually like pizza, but they made me a lovely salmon one that I can't wait to have again. Thumbs up.

We dont often have pizza but when we do, it has to be top notch. This blew mine and my friends minds. It was sensational!. The ribs were so so tender and the sauce was just to die for. Good ribs in Mulgrave ? Yup. It has happened. I strongly recommend this place!

Went there a few weeks ago and loved it! Best quality pizza I've had in a long time! Will definitely be back for more :)
