Review Double D Burgers - Springvale

Tahmid Abdullah
🍔 Double D: 3/5; Wasn't the best. Wasn't the worst. The buns were ok. Patty was average 🍟 Chippy Fries: 4/5; Was crisp and well seasoned 🍗 Korean Fried Chicken: 5/5; Had it with hot and spicy sauce. It was juicy and packed a lot of flavour. Loved it 💯 Ambience was okay. Raya was our server and she was awesome 👌🏽

We enjoyed our burgers today. It was one if those days to try a new place. The burgers had a really nice flavour with the sauce. The chips and aoli sauce was great. A small place with great flavour

Great customer service and food by Paul, Fun and Dylan. I've had the Lord Of The Onions, 3 x Korean Chicken Wings - Honey Soy Garlic for 2.00, Mighty Mouse, Krispy chicken burger, Double D, Single D, Bacon cheese fries and Honey butter Chips. Thank you :)

Wow, standards are high. Burger here was phenomenal. I got the spicy chicken burger, could have been a bit more spicy but very tasty nevertheless. Chips were hot and crispy. And the soy garlic chicken wings wonderfully succulent. The guy who served me took great pride in his work, carefully assembling the burger. Come here and treat yourself.

freshly made burgers as you order! one of my local favourite spots - absolutely love their onion jam that is featured in their Double D burger! they also do loaded fries, baos, fried chicken and milkshakes! its a small little burger spot, a couple outdoor seating space and minimal seats inside - made mostly for takeaway its a yellow spot - can be missed if you arent looking out for it! definitely give them a visit!

I got the Double D burger and it was delicious. Good sauce, nice patties and buns were nice and soft. My wife got the Krispy chicken burger and wasn’t as good. It was a very big piece of chicken and wasn’t that crispy. We also got the honey soy chicken wings. They were quite nice. Overall, a nice burger place

I definitely always enjoy the burgers here but only come with I'm feeling very hungry as it is quite heavy. The Tim Tam milkshake is next level too ❤️

Delicious burgers cooked on the spot with lightly toasted brioche bun and juicy patties. The honey butter chips are my favourite - sweet, crispy and topped with shaved cheese
Cookielessvee
I love how after a long period of time that the standard of this place are still consistent. We ordered the honey butter chips which were crispy and topped with finely grated cheese. The crispy chicken has the most crisp batter and tender chicken. The double d burger is by fav. Juicy patties with a nicely toasted brioche bun.

13/1/2016
great place for korean fried chicken. crispy and full of flavour. Chips were crispy and soft in the inside but slightly oily from the honey. Overall nice ambience and customer service

Love the chicken baos, very tasty.

Ordered the double d, crispy chicken burger, 3 salt & pepper fried chicken and honey butter fries. The double d burger was definitely my favourite! I felt that the chicken lacked flavour and there was barely any sauce in the burger. I enjoyed the fries although my partner said it was sickening for him to finish as it got too sweet (but I was alright with it and really really liked it)- it’s a must try. Another downside is there is no tissue on the table and they only gave us one tissue with our meals.

the burgers here are of high quality and would definitely come back here any day of the week with them delicious burgers

Best burgers that we have had in Springvale. The beef is cooked to perfection, the chicken is beautiful and tender. The fillings are always fresh, not overly done with sauces.

This is a cute place amongst the very culture based restaurants in Springvale. I tried the classic and the Mighty Mouse burgers and they’re not bad. The wings were alright as well it wasn’t amazing. The fries were rlly good fresh but it got a bit overwhelming later on as you would expect and last but not least I got the chicken bao and they were really really good quite expensive considering it was $12 for only 3 but yes I recommend

Came here for dinner with my boyfriend and we were not disappointed! The chippys just melt in your mouth and the service was superb! We ordered the fried chicken burger and the lord of the onions burger - delicious! Super friendly staff with a nice, quiet atmosphere!

Great burgers, have tried the cheese burger and the chicken burger. Will be coming back to try the prawn burger. This place is most definitely better than the local competiton (cultural commons)

#BURGERS

One of the best burgers in Melbourne. An absolute hidden gem. Being in Springvale and having direct competition with one of the biggest burger shops (cultural commons) I didn't know whether Double D would step up but they came in strong. The burger I had ordered was absolutely perfect. The speed of the order was quite impressive to start with and the meat was extremely fresh. Biting through the burger you can tell there was no bad oily after taste that you generally feel at certain places after eating a burger with double patties. The lettuce was fresh also and the shoe string fries that they also provide on the side were perfect. If your after a beautiful non oily fresh classic burger then Double D is the place to go too!

Our go to place for burgers in Springvale. The honey butter chips and honey soy chicken are so bomb! The burgers are also full of juiciness and really delicious. We feel this place is underrated as we don’t see many customers dining in. Highly recommended if you’re ever in the area to check this place out~

Nice, cozy yellow burger joint in springvale. We had the fried chicken which was absolutely juice and the saewoo and softshell crab burgers. They both tasted good but would recommend the softshell over the saewoo. I would come again and try out all the other burgers.
Dee
Love their fried chicken! Never fails to satisfy that fried chicken craving. The burger was also very soft and just melted in my mouth with every bite. Very happy.
Sellieee
Tried the soft shell crab burger with honey soy garlic chicken wings and a berry cheesecake milkshake. The food was amazing, loved how juicy that soft shell crab was and the spicy kick in the burger. The chicken was surprisingly not too sweet, crunchy and juicy and the milkshake had just the right amount of sweetness and it wasn't too rich and creamy!

Also, I want to shout out to the staff today who helped my sick friend, offering free cold water (on a 32 degree day) - thank you for your kindness and compassion! I will definitely be back for more.
Kenny
Nice friendly staff, and the burgers are amazing. Also, their lunch time deal is a steal: an extra $2 with any burger for a drink and chips...

If you want to take a break from all that pho and bbh, then why not try Double D, a local burger joint in the heart of Springvale, with a selection of different burgers and different sides. I decided to try the double d burger and let me tell y’all, I would love myself some double d’s but not this kind. The bun was meh and the patty was bland and dry and the sauce was nothing special. I wouldn’t recommend going to this place if you want to get a beefy burgers but in saying that maybe the other ones are a lot better (I hope so from the 4.0 rating).

Moving on to the sides, now here is the highlight of the show, I loved all the sides. Definitely try the bao. I loved the bun of the bao, it had a sweet scent to it and it wasn’t too hard or tough like some others that I’ve had. The aroma of the pork was amazing, the flavours were all there, the only thing was that the braised pork was a tinsy bit over cooked however, I can look past that because of how amazing the flavours were and the bun. I would love to go back and try the chicken bao! Next we had the chicken wings. I liked how subtle the flavour was.

Sometimes chicken wings are drenched in sauce and it gets to that point where you’re sick of it after three pieces but these weren’t like that. They were extremely tender and the meat just fell off the bone. The skin was crispy with that nice hit of honey soy, which was absolutely delicious. Lastly, we had the bacon cheese fries. The fries were okay. Slightly crispy on the outside and potato-ey on the inside. It had a good ratio of cheese bacon and fries. Pretty standard.

Verdict: really enjoyed all the sides. Would love to come back to try the chicken bao and maybe those wings again However, the burger was a no go for me. Sooooo...Battle of the Springvale burgers, would I pick culture commons or double d?... ummm.. how about I just stick to my good old trusty friend, McDonalds, who never disappoints me.

❤️: The menu is full of options. I super enjoyed soft shell crabs burger and honey butter chips, yall must try that, it really good, I was about to buy extra for take away but too afraid about the wait time. Would defo recommend and come back!

💔: The place is quite small and they were pretty busy with Ubereats. We waited for 25 mins for our food which made me a bit upset.
Custard Queen
We have ordered here a few times but I’m going to stick to bao and chips from now on as the burgers always disappoint me (I find the patties tasteless and way too small for the bun so the majority of the burger taste is bread) However the pork bao are delicious and the loaded fries are good too.

I would have given them a 5 but they're clearly hiding the recipe for those honey butter chips from the world and that's simply unforgivable.

The 'Hidden Gem of Burger Joints'!!! My local favourite for a quick, cheap and delicious feast!

The burgers they do here at Double D are amazing, and they don't just do burgers, but Korean Fried Chicken, Shakes, Loaded Fries and Baos! Of course the highlights would be the Burgers and the KFC! The flavours of this place are mix with Korean, so it really does add something different! If you want to have a classic burger you can order it or a fusion, they have Baos, KFC burgers, Soft Shell Crab burgers and Tiger Prawn burgers.

Sadly, I can't give 4.5 stars, so it'll have to be 5 stars as they continuously improve and cook up delicious burgers that'll leave you satisfied and craving for more! Give them a go!

It was originally a toss up between Double D and Cultural Commons for dinner tonight. But Cultural Commons was closed so we went to Double D and no regrets.

The patties were made in house (we heard him slapping patties in the back while we were eating). They're juicy, a good size and has heaps of flavour. The ingredients were all fresh, none of the veggies were wilted, the cheese was nicely melted, and the sauce was plenty.
It was not super greasy, judging by the paper that was used to hold the pattie (big bonus). The chips were super crispy and there was a big side of aioli to dip.
ONLY con was that the buns could be a bit more toasted (but it wasn't soggy or anything).

Price wise, super cheap, considering that it's a gourmet burger joint and not just some fast food maccas.

We ordered the mighty mouse and the soft shell crab burger, with one of them being a meal with chips and a can of coke. The mighty mouse was 10.50 and the soft shell crab was 14.00 and the sides were 4.00 đź‘Ť

Ambience: 5, small little joint with k pop music in the back
Quality: 4
Service: 5, he's super nice
Value: 5
I dropped by here for lunch with my friends on the weekend and was pleasantly surprised by food! The space has been renovated simply and is very small with limited seating but luckily, it was very quiet during my visit.

We ended up getting the honey butter chips with a crispy chicken burger, seafood burger and might mouse burger.

The honey butter chips was definitely the star dish - super crispy fries that were salty, sweet and a little bit sticky in just the right amounts. The burgers all had just the right balance of flavours with the perfect amount of sauce and cheese to bun ratio. I was a little disappointed that the chicken in my crispy chicken burger was barely crispy but it was saved by the fact that the chicken was juicy and tender and full of flavour. The seafood burger was also really interesting with its prawn patty and it went surprisingly well with all the other elements.

I'll definitely be coming back next time I'm around for those butter honey fries and seafood burger.
Cheeseburger Anyone? "Where's The Sauce"?
Came here a few days ago with some friends and i really enjoyed it. I tried the might mouse and the fried chicken burger. Mighty mouse was pretty good. Beef was juicy and had no gristle. Only thing i would change would be the cheese. I couldnt really taste it. Also add a stronger favoured sauce and more if it.

Chicken burger was prob my favourite. But!! It wasnt really crispy... it was actualy soft. But it was juicy and delicious!! I just like my chicken crispy if its fried! Chips were ok... needed more seasoning...the honey and butter chips were nice but cant have to many of them... also tried the salt n pepper wings which were moist and crunchy and pretty tasty! Overall it was a pleasant meal

Awesome little while in the wall joint right opposite Springvale train station, went with a mate and I it did not look to popular but the burgers and fries were fantastic, and even pretty cheap for the excellent quality provided. Will happily eat there again as the food and service were real great 👍🏻
Burgers Of Melbourne
Double D Burgers is a small boutique burger joint near Springvale station. Boasting a range of burgers, bao, fries, wings and shakes this place has something for everyone.

With the burgers ranging from $9.50 to $14.50 burgering at Double D is fairly cheap. The beef and fried chicken mix works really well here, that is my recommendation.

So far i have tried the chilli beef fries and the mighty mouse burger.

Been here twice. Chilli beef fries are nice. Impressed with what i had. Chips were crispy and fresh as they had just come out.

Had the mighty mouse and was pretty impressed. Patty they had it down pat.
The downside? Bun was not hot. It felt cold as though it had just come out of the plastic bag. The jalapenos i asked for was not spicy at all.

This is a fine and convenient place to go to if you live locally and if you simply cannot be bothered going anywhere too far.

@lukebMelb
Decent burgers with an asain influence.
The bao was abit of a let down, i would not recommend. The burgers however i found were quite different to anything i've had before. if in the area , its worth checking out. Ps Very small shop with limited seating.

In one of Melbourne's 'burbs where you expect find really good pho, who'd know you could say the same about burgers? The little, old, bright yellow building sits opposite shiny new Springvale station, meaning, depending on the hours, you could find easy parking. We did, on a public holiday between lunch and dinner.

I was keen to go one of the bun, but as the server (and cook) was unsure if the pork was female, I decided to stick with the safety of beef in a burger instead, as I wasn't feeling like chicken or tofu - the other bun options.

Five burgers, and two serves of chips - we'd ordered three, but there must have been a miss communique as just the two arrived. The chilli chips was loaded with mince (I feel like I should say 'hamburger' as they do in the USA to describe mince, but either way, there was lots of it, along with a spicy mayo and just the right amount of jalapenos over good chips. The other option that arrived was the curiously combined Honey Butter Chips - with grated cheese. Our tastebuds were completely thrown, but in a most gloriously upside-down-world kind of way, it made sense. These chips were not apologising for the honey, this was no 'subtle background' flavour, these were chips drizzled with honey and butter. I can't explain how it works, but it somehow does. Again the chips too, were good.

The burgers we had were the 'Mighty Mouse' with added pickles and jalapenos, and I am told the bacon in this burger was deliciosly crispy. 2 x Lord of the Onion, one as listed, the other with jalapenos, a Classic Cheeseburger and a 'Double D'. Not one of us was disappointed. The meat was just slightly pink within, the cheese was super-melted, and the buns were warm and briochy. For mine, the Double D, the slight sweetness of the sauce was the perfect compliment. Our youngest took it upon himself to tell our cook/server that it was the best cheeseburger he'd ever had - I can see how he would say so. These are not super-fancy burgers, just true, good food, cooked in front of us a la fish and chip shop burger, but brought into present day.

Very, very good burgers, we'd come again, particularly at the odd hour we did, when we had the place pretty much to ourselves.

Disconcerting to see 'God is love' on the cash register of a burger joint. Seating is designed for a quick bite and run, not that comfy.

Oh no no, stumbled in here and noticed the floor was super sticky like it had never been mopped.
Ordered a double d burger which was just dry and really unpleasant, it gave me heartburn for at least 5-6 hours after the meal. Chicken wings were ok perhaps the only saving grace here.
Timea Scully
By far the best Korean chicken wings I have ever had! Hot and spicey really had a nice sweet kick to it, great for those sweet tooths. As for the honey battered chips, although they were super great, it would be best to share with two or three as they are very sweet and the repetitive flavour soon becomes boring/bland.

A quiet little hidden gem in Springvale!
Beautiful food, quick service, generous serves and brilliant prices. Definitely my new favourite burger place.
Linnie Eats All The Food
Mr Italian Stallion was leaving for Singapore for two years which meant obligatory burgers were to be eaten before he leaves. On a Monday night we were meant to be at Cultural Commons in Springvale, unfortunately, they were closed so Ms Curly Fries suggested Double D which was 500 m away and across Springvale Station (YAY for convenience to public transport!). We stumbled in and it wasn’t as busy as we thought and checked out the menu which wasn’t as long as I thought it would be. Shakes! What else goes well with burgers? I got the berry cheese cake shake which was a tad watery and the cheesecake flavour wasn’t as strong. However, the peanut butter shake was SOOOO peanut butter-y it was on point. If you love peanut butter in a shake, this is the drink for you! Bonus point, it was only $5.50 each! BARGAIN!

Easy to find location with heaps of parking across the road. I only like ordering the honey butter chips here, they're amazing! Everything else is average, the burgers are nothing special and soft shell crab is too expensive for me to eat all the time. Get the honey butter chips!!!
The Hungry Moustache
Hailing from the West, I have very few reasons to be in Springvale. It’s a solid hour of driving and time has a funny relationship with how food tastes – especially the longer you have to wait for it! If I do happen to be in the area though.. well, that changes everything. It would be a sin against gastronomy to ignore the delights Springvale has to offer. Hunter works around the Springvale area and is no stranger to Double D. After months of salivating to the onslaught of Hunter’s snapchat’s, I finally have the chance to try the Korean fried chicken at Double D.

If you're after a great burger, this is the place to go to! The location may be inconvenient to park around, but it doesn't change the fact the Burgers here are absolutely amazing! I love the chicken here too! and the honey cheese chips, so good.

Great burger restaurant in the Springvale area. Have been here a few times after seeing posts about this place on instagram and decided to visit. The staff are always very inviting and friendly. You always feel at home. Burgers and ingredients are fresh, tasty and not too heavy (unless you order some custom large burger). The fried chicken is very tasty and as good as any other well known korean fried chicken places. The milkshakes are compliment the burgers perfectly. The baos are a great entree and the fries are well worth it. I would suggest any of the "loaded" options.

Burgers (classic cheeseburger and soft shell crab) were moist and really tasty, however a little oily. Chips were crunchy and fluffy. Their fried chicken with honey soy was also really delicious - would say it's comparable to Gami.
Vincent
Burger - I had the classic cheese as a test trial - solid burger. Not dripping in oil, easy to eat and doesn't fall apart after the first bite. Great meat patty

Service - excellent , greeted as soon as I arrived and was not packed with people and so eating in peace was a bonus.

Would come again.

Tried Double D, as it was recommended by my sister. We had the Classic Cheese burger, Mighty mouse and the Chippys.

All were tasty and freshly made, the chippy were super chunchy just who we like them.
Service was friendly and helpful.
Place was clean.
Would go back again!

Staff here are very welcoming the minute you enter. Food on the other hand was overpriced and disappointing. The burgers were not very juicy and flavours did not jump out at you at all
Doc
Went to this little bright yellow beauty for lunch today and was greeted by friendly staff was only 12:15pm so no one there ordered the Mighty Mouse burger got told they have a lunch special with chips and drink for $12 said sick i'll do that. Burger was cooked perfectly bacon was good still juicy even though they serve it sideways in a cardboard sleeve and I scoffed me chips & aioli first which were fantastic!! Grabbed the burger out no huge puddle underneath brilliant. There is no way I will go to a maccas ever again when you get that sought of burgermeal for the same price anyhow time for a beer #drunklife!!

A small burger place where the food is freshly prepared and tastes amazing. Burgers were delicious and the fried chicken was very crunchy. Everything is always displayed very nicely, even when purchasing take-away. The staff at Double D are friendly with good service. Overall, you get friendly service and great tasting food that is worth the price. Definitely will be a frequent customer now.

have been here twice, so will rate both burgers i got
double d burger = good, nothing to rave about but satisfying, fairly large size 3.5/5
(forgot the name) burger with bourbon sauce = good size, sauce is very nice, good overall flavour 4/5
standard chips = good 3.5/5

Cute and cozy little place, good burgers. We ordered soft shell crab and Double D burgers, they were both very yummy. Menu is streamlined so you wont be overwhelmed by choices. Good place for someone looking for a change in an area full of Asian food like Springvale. Will come back to try their prawn burger and Bao, seemed very yum too.

Really great chicken and burger with great value! They've got new bun as well. I really enjoy the tofu bun.
I've been there almost every week!
Issac_eatsalot
Great burger place for springvale! Good value for money and they use thigh which is great for fried chicken burgers. Wouldn't put it top 5 but it is definitely underrated if you're east of Melbourne.
Cassidy & Sneakers
Cassidy – we ordered a Mighty Mouse burger, a Krispy Chicken burger, some honey soy garlic wings, some hot & spicy wings and a berry cheesecake milkshake. I had the Mighty Mouse burger and I’m going to declare it to be the best beef burger I’ve had so far. The patty was seasoned so well, the whole thing was juicy and fresh. The wings were nice, crunchy and fresh. The shake to me literally tasted like a cheesecake had been blended up and chilled, it was delicious. We’re definitely going back to this place.

Sneakers – the food that we tried at Double D was delicious. The Mighty Mouse burger was delicious, it reminded me a little of a Wendy’s burger. The hot & spicy wings weren’t really hot at all but they were definitely tasty. I loved the Krispy Chicken burger. Putting on my critics hat on here the two comments I have to make about this burger are that as much as thigh fillet is delicious and juicy, the coating on mine wasn’t particularly crispy as such, and they put the lettuce on the bottom of the burger and the fried chicken directly on top of it (which is a big no-no in burger craft). It could really use a slice of pepper jack or a spicy cheese on top of the chicken and then the lettuce to go on top of that. The honey soy garlic wings were also very tasty, although they could up the garlic (these wings aren’t covered in sauce, the flavouring is in the coating). Overall like I said at the start, the food is delicious and we will definitely heading back to try a few other burgers and bao.

Cleanliness of the restaurant – 7/10

Cleanliness of plates/cutlery/glasses – n/a

Cleanliness of the menus – 8/10

Service – 8.5/10

Wait time for food – short

Food overall – 8/10

Ambience – 6/10

Value for money – 7.5/10

Went for a little dinner date last night with my boyfriend and we decided to check it out, it was freezing and as soon as we stepped in the only worker (it was like 8pm fair enough) turned on the heater immediately, which was really friendly of him! Anyway we ordered a whole lot, pork belly bao - perfect, Korean fried chicken - ordered hot and spicy and was not spicy at all haha, burgers - perfect looking burger and tasted soo good. Chips come with their house aoili which was really good too!

Overall good experience! Everything came out on time and tasted great, really affordable too, definitely coming back.
FOOD TRIP
Cute little Korean burger place opposite Springvale train station. You can’t miss it, the front is a bright yellow. Food is good but not mind-blowing, service is friendly, owners and staff are cool. But they’ve got stiff competition with Cultural Commons up the road, YOMG Yo My Goodness in Glen Waverley and Pavilion in Dandenong. If you’re in the area then worth checking out.

If you want a minimal and simple burger this is the place (I'm not a big fan of sloppy burgers). Patties cooked to a medium (FKYES). Honey butter chips were unexpectedly good, the mac and cheese bites werr decent. Been here twice, definitely would go again. Bummer they close on Sundays, though.

Quite a mini venue, so if you have a group makes it hard. Some good options but the chicken was terrible and overall the experience was a let down.

One of the best burger I've ever tasted in Melbourne so far. The bun was great not too soft not too hard, the meat was perfectly grilled very delicate inside. The quality is tasty from the outside and juicy from the inside. I'm surprised that it was not oily(not as much as I thought it would be). The sauces added an extra flavours to the mixtures as well which provides a sparkling feeling to the burger as a whole.
Daniel
Took about 20 minutes for the burger and fries to come out after we ordered, the chips were average and the burger didn't really have any flavour to it. I felt like everything was an extra charge even getting a bottle of water instead of a can of soft drink and a bit disappointing that the honey chips couldn't be made in a meal. Overall it was okay, wouldn't make a second trip to Double D.

Yesterday I had the Double D signature burger at….. Double D in Springvale. The burger was really tasty and presentation quite good. I was thinking about going to the milkshake but backed down not knowing how big the serve of fries would be. I regret it now as they are not that big when you get their meal combo.

The venue is good, clean and modern but small, when this place gets popular (which no doubt it will), it will be hard finding a sit or somewhere to stand while waiting for your meal.

My gripes are that the side of fries is a little pricey but with most of these new-age burger joints they usually are so it’s no different from others I have visited. I guess adding a few extra napkins would be handy as my burger was super juicy and s**t got everywhere because that’s how I eat.

Overall this place is good, staff are super friendly and smile. Although not packed the burger came out quick without any problems with the order.

Today I came back to Double D, yeah I do like this place and ordered the Chicken Burger, fries (yeah I know I complained but they are good) and the Double Chocolate Tim Tam milkshake.

The milkshake came out first and is pretty fine. I was expecting something so sweet my head would explode but it was a really good level of sweetness.

Burger came out but the fries were late to the party that was going to begin in my stomach. This is a pet peeve for mine, as I like to munch on my fries first while admiring my burger. Well really I’m looking for weak points to attack my meal.

So I started on the burger and it was pretty good, however after a bit a good chuck of chicken dropped out like my burger was laying an egg. That s**t doesn’t roll well with me! It seems that they grab some of the Korean fried chicken pieces and plonk it in the burger. I want a massive chicken piece not bits of chicken.

Anyhow the burger did taste good and this experience isn’t going to put me off coming back.

Get down to Springvale and get yourself a Double D Burger!
Minh Thuy Le
Brightly standing out from the grasycale background of buildings along Lightwood Rd is a yellow bricked building that’s bringing burgers to Springvale. Seating space is limited in this casual indoor and outdoor establishment with an outdoor toilet and no connecting inside out door. Say what? As you can see from the images, you are either eating inside along the wall, or outside on the side, along the wall. Not exactly the best seating arrangements if you are coming in large groups than three or four without having to do some rearranging.
Kevin Teong
Good burger place in an area crowded with Asian food. Decor is alright; not many seats inside (about seating for 15 people inside at best) but there's a nice outside area. Honey Butter Chips were a bit strange; texture was nice but the sweetness of the honey with the savoury flavours of a chip was too much of a clash for me. Krispy Chicken Burger was great; nice not-overpowering tangy sauce with succulent fried chicken. The fried chicken wings (I had honey soy) were great as well; bit on the small side but the chicken was again succulent and the skin crispy. The sauce is quite light and not overpowering like other places. The service has improved greatly since my last visit about 2 months ago. Overall, a nice alternative to Cultural Commons that's down the street and a definitely a great place for burgers if you're in the area.
Kim.junki
The best wagyu burgers and fried chickens in the town!! My fav is the Double D burger. The chefs and staffs are really friendly and catering! Definitely a great bang for the money you spend :)

Been here twice, and both times were awesome! If it's your first time, I recommend going for the Double D burger. The beef patties are cooked to perfection (with the pinky middle), the glazed buns were soft yet sweet, and they topped it off with the right amount of sauce and lettuce, keeping it real simply and not over killing it with toppings like some other places.

I've also tried the honey glazed chips however I wasn't a fan of this, if you're getting chips I recommend going for the chilli beef chips, they're not spicy but they taste awesome!

I think what I like most about this place is that it's close for people living in the south eastern suburbs, so we don't need to travel to the city to get a quality burger, I would say these burgers are on the same level as 8-bit burger.

Burger bars are becoming increasingly popular in Springvale amidst all the asian cuisines. Double D is a newish kid on the block, only having opened a couple of months ago. It isn’t among all the cluster of restuarants down Buckingham Avenue, but rather on Lightwood Road, next to the station.

Theres plenty of parking available at a small cost, if any, whether it be the station car park off Lightwood Road, or the supermarket car park off Warwick Avenue.

You can’t really miss it - just look for the bright yellow brick walls.

The courtyard seating area is just as bright and has a sort of beach feel to it.

The interior is quite small with very limited seating and a large open kitchen bar.

Check out the review of Double D in the blog post below.

After eating at Fat Bob's and being somewhat disappointed, I decided to give this place a shot as I often drive past it every day. Overall I'm very satisfied with what I received. Had the Double D burger which was flavoursome and patties were moist. Honey butter chips were interesting but the mac and cheese balls could have used a touch more cheese.

Will definitely be coming back to try the other varieties and shakes. Pay a visit if you're looking for burgers with a Korean twist.

Really creative concepts. Fried mac n cheese was delicious. Soft shell crab burger was very generous with crab despite the $14 price. Would happily pay more for it.
Beef burger was something special! Juicy, well seasoned, had a very unique flavor ive never tasted and loved it.
Will happily come back!

Wow... this place is right up there with fat bobs and royal brothers for quality burgers. It's a little tucked away near springvale station next to the mechanics.

Had the Chicken burger and the mighty mouse and both were great, as were the wings.

Lucky for me I work around the corner from these guys. The honey butter chips are the best chips I've ever eaten, so unique and delicious...and the patties are cooked medium, have great texture, and taste so, so good. The buns are outstanding; nice & firm melt in your mouth brioche clouds of deliciousness. Everything on the menu is worth a try, the Korean style fried wings are a step above too. The employees have all been super friendly in my opinion, and the value for money is very good: Drool worthy.

My friends and I came here sometime during their opening week and tried out several burgers, their fries and the chicken wings. Amongst the four of us we had the 'Mighty Mouse', 2x 'Double D', 'Krispy Chicken Burger', 'Chippy' and 12x 'Korean Fried Chicken Wings'. Personally, I found the burgers to be quite disappointing as the cheese was not melted into the meat or bun, it was as if they slapped it on and it didn't melt on the grill. The bun was also not as soft as expected for a brioche bun. The fries were ordinary and nothing spectacular. Korean Fried Chicken Wings could have been better as it was very very oily (dripping oily) but the put on the right amount of flavour (the sauce was not as rich and dense as other places).

Literally craving the butter honey fries. So unique. The honey soy chicken! Awesome. The burgers are awesome for the price also. Highly recommended going here over the over priced Cultural Commons

One word: Amazing burger and shakes. I had the Double D burger which has double meat, and they are really juicy. Besides,we also have the honey butter fries. For me,the fries is not my cup of tea, because it is too sweet, but don't ask me about the burger. It is amazing. Another amazing thing is the milkshake. The blueberry cheesecake has blown my mind.
