Review Moon Diem Hen Restaurant - Springvale

Great service and excellent fresh food every time! Can't go wrong with the pipis in xo sauce and the soft shell crab. Anything with the salt and pepper seasoning is good - the prawns, chicken ribs etc. Their banh xeo and chicken "coleslaw" are also an excellent choice. They have great rice dishes as well. 5 out of 5! 👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿💕

I’ve been coming here for years. Place is amazing. Honestly this is my pho place. If I’m ever getting pho, I always come here. It’s bomb. Literally don’t add anything to broth, it’s perfect. I love it so much. And their chilli oil is feeling awesome!!! Also highly recommend their papaya and avocado smoothie. Great staff and service. Literally I when I moved to China and my friend went there without me, the lady who used to work there during the day asked where I went (that’s how often I go there ) Great pricing. Great food. Great service. What more can u want. Also they accept bank transfers which is a gem in Springvale. Never had a bad experience and been here well over 100 times at this point 😃

This is one of many Vietnamese restaurants in Springvale the best place east of Melbourne for this type of cuisine. Located at the alley between Springvale Centre and the multi storey carpark. Service is prompt and its menu quite extensive. Our family dinner ended up with 2 entrees and 3 mains with steamed rice. Friendly lady boss invited us to come back for hotpot!

just went yesterday...foods was bad, not aas good as used to be. services was also bad too. they brought out some beers without opening the bottles, we had to do it ourselves with the lighter. finally when we payed the bill, they didnt even give us the receipt. never go back again.

The food is ok but the staff (female waitress) has a bad attitude. She is RUDE and arrogant. The young waiter is doing very nice. He is new in the job but he has a very good behaviour. This is second change but they have the same attitude like the first time. Don't want to come back again.

One of the best banh xeo in Springvale, large was generous, crispy and flavourful. Veggies fresh and nuoc mam perfect. Friendly service and great ambience. Definitely check it out for the banh xeo.

Found this little gem right next to Hoa Tran. This salty fish and chicken fried rice has ‘wok hei’.

My favourite restaurant. The best food friendly service and oh so very very clean. Highly recommend it. Give it a go.

3.5 Good

Dubbed as the restaurant that takes in the overflow from Hoa Tran (on occasion that's how we ended up here) it certainly doesn't reel in the same numbers. That being said it's been awhile since I was last back here and the atmosphere was rather dead, especially when the restaurant occupies such a large space.

I ordered their BBH which wasn't bad, generous with their noodles as well as various cuts of meat. Broth was easy to drink and beefy, it could have done with additional lemongrass and chilli which was amplified with freshly cut chillies on the side.

Food was well priced and we left satisfied. As usual, dishes may vary in quality as these restaurants have over a hundred menu items and there's no way they can have consistency across the board.

We actually walked into this restaurant by mistake, but nonetheless had a very pleasant experience. The food was extremely cheap, and very tasty too. We got the rice vermicelli with pork and spring roll, and the broken rice with pork chop. The vermicelli dish was very delicious and fresh, and came with heaps of vegetables so I felt very light after eating it. The broken rice was very flavourful and the pork chop was so juicy, tender, and crispy. Definitely the star of the show.
We were very impressed with our experience at this place!

So underrated. Delicious food and very generous on their portion. One of the top restaurants in Springvale. Shits all over hoa tran

Always come to this resto with fam nowadays after realising that their food actually are nicer than the famous one beside them, I used to be obsessed with their bun rieu, but now I'm obsessed with their dry Cambodian noodle, sooo yummy! My family love their ban xeo, broken rice and bun.
Service always friendly and attentive, overall nowadays everytime we wanna eat viet in springvale, we will def come here.

This is our go to place every wednesday night. A beautiful couple runs this place. The food is delicious. Value for money and prices are reasonable as well.
Sizzling prawn stir fry and fried chicken noodle soup is our go to food.

Everything was closed in Springvale but luckily Moon Diem wasn't. A great menu which was really well priced. Tradtional Vietnamese done quite well. Fast and efficient service

The food is reasonable good, lovely atmosphere, not too busy like Hoa Tran next door, so you can relax and have a quiet peaceful meal, I do recommended it

Treated by my boss, i went here as my first visit. We had the traditional vietnamese pancake, lamp hot pot, sweet and sour seafood hot pot. The food are tasty and very delicious. I suppose this place is a bit quiet, maybe because it was a Tuesday night, after 8pm, there wasnt many staff, the restaurant was left with us (around 20 people). But enjoyed the atmostphere which was nice and warm. Highly recommend.

What a poor performance from this place they call a business!
Waited over 10minutes for some tea & 2cans of soft drink, another 20minutes later for 3x entree which all came out staggering for the next 30minutes.
We then continue to ask for mains, waited over an hour for a wonton soup & betel leaf wrapped, Absolute joke! Asking multiple staff how long it was going to be - same response very busy, we made a mistake.
If your kitchen let alone wait staff can’t handle a Monday night with a full restaurant it explains why the wontons weren’t even cooked & walking out without even eating 1/4 of the meal.
Save yourself the time & disgusting experience from this place!

Not sure why the rating for this restaurant is low. My wife and I have always enjoyed the food at this preferred restaurant. We visit the restaurant at least once a week. May be the owner needs to step up their marketing strategies to attract more customers. I personally prefer the food at Moon Diem Hen more than that at the restaurant next door (interestingly with a higher rating)!!

Decent Vietnamese food with reasonable price and adequate service. This restaurant suits more for family imo due to a spacious dining area. Service is adequate. I would conclude my review like this. Everything hear is just right in middle ie food, service, pricing and atmosphere. Give this place a shot if you’d like to.

Despite making a booking in advance, there weren't enough tables reserved for our group. As a result we all had to squish in together with barely enough room to use our cutlery. The staff seemed to ignore our requests for bowls and plates as some people in our party didn't have any. Turns out they had run out of clean dishes. At least if the food were any good we could overlook the abysmal service but unfortunately the food was terrible and this is the last time I will be coming here.

It has nice service, the noodle soup i try is ok. But, i impress with the variety of vegie they offer with it. Price is reasonable, big portion

We have eaten at Moon điểm hạn twice now. The service is friendly and fast. It helps if you can speak Vietnamese or have someone with you who can. The food was tasty and authentic. Serving portions are generous as you would expect from a Viet Restaraunt. This is not "fine dining" but the food and atmosphere is great. We will definitely be back.
Decided to try this restaurant based on a recommendation from a friend who had a noodle soup there which reminded me of something i ate in vietnam that i have not been able to find. We ordered the noodle soup which wasnt on the menu and a combination crispy noodle both of which was ok. Service was a little relaxed as i was trying to get the attention of a waiter for a while but they were watching tv. Wouldnt come back.

uh dunno why we went here.. when our fav haunt us only next door!! maybe it was because we wanted a change?? dunno. But as the saying goes if ur into a good thing why change. This proved to b our own doing... food was ok but I wouldn't go back. The pork on the Broken rice was very oily and no crisp. I find that no Viet restaurants these days will take the time to actually char grill the lemongrass pork anymore! Rather they chase profits through table turnovers by deep frying the pork and frying it instead.

If anyone knows of a place in Melb pls pm 👍👏

As for the other dish... I've actually forgotten to be honest. It wasn't great and I guess forgettable ... again these are my views only..

I'm a regular here. This place is consistently good for most Vietnamese dishes. Whenever I don't feel like eating pho (I only eat pho at restaurants that specialise in that alone), I come here. I haven't been disappointed with a meal yet although I would have liked some more rice noodles in my combination dish today. Taste wise, I can't complain. Apparently they specialise in hot pot but I've yet to come in a group large enough to try it.

Service is quick and friendly. Also the cutlery and cups are clean, unlike some other restaurants in the area. They have a consistent clientele but I've never had to wait for a table. My recommendation - come here for reliable good food.

Well, great food n service. Its clearly underrated. Ppl keep visitin the restaurant next door but I reckon this one is nicer. Plus more hygenic.

Aafter a few good meals, this puts Moon Diem Hen firmly my favourite place for Vietnamese food in Springvale. The fact that it’s new and next to Hoa Tran, I haven’t seen it packed yet so it has always been easy to get in but this means we would be back there in a heart beat for our next non-pho Vietnamese fix. We love the fresh, tasty food they serve at especially good price.
