Review Hue Kitchen - Springvale

It's still takeaway at the moment due to restrictions but i've walked pass this restaurant so many times but never tried it. We ordered the rice paper rolls that came with a roll of chicken, shredded pork, nam and prawn. I loved the evergreen freshness and crispness of the vegetables and how each meat had its own taste. The rice paper and noodles were fresh. The lady was also so considerate to ask if we wanted chilli or not in our dipping sauce which was light and creamy. The combination rice vermicelli with mixed salad and fish sauce was quite refreshing. The crispness of the freshly cooked springrolls paired with the soft noodles and charcoal grilled pork and chicken was perfect.

A cool little gem in the area. This place always serves delicious food. Though not as popular as some of the more popular eating joints in the area. I do love the Vietnamese food here. Favourites are Vietnamese pancakes, rice paper roll a soft noodle wrap varieties. Staff here are super friendly and food service is super fast. They also serve takeaway quick for an easy meal on the go.

It’s my second visit here during Stage 4 restrictions and looks like I’ve found a gem here. Ordered the no.8 (rice paper rolls with charcoal grilled chicken lemongrass) and no.24 (bun bo xao with charcoal grilled pork & chicken and prawn spring rolls) and it was a Grand Slam Home Run! About a 15 mins wait for the food but well worth it. Comes with fish sauce for no.8 and peanut sauce for no.24. No.24 is so filling yet I don’t feel bloated afterwards. Pork was tender and great flavour. The accompanying salad was plentiful and fresh. Can’t wait to dine in when things open up.

Quick, good service with nice tea at the ready. The food wasn't overcooked like how a lot of places do it but also with how they flavoured the meat was an interesting twist. I'd be happy to come back to it again. The only thing I would suggest improving is the sweet condiment sauce.

Love the home style cooking here, everything I've tried is delicious. The bitter melon dishes are mt fave. Reminds me of my grandmas cooking and is so well priced too.

So my pho was pretty good but my friends Seafood was nasty. Real nasty. We suspect it was off but though perhaps it's a flavor but to be safe we didn't eat it. We left all the food there. We left and I even originally wrote a good review BEFORE the seafood came out. Anyway.... while we only had a small bite we both became ill soon after. This was really terrible and the place looked clean but.... guess not

If you want, or like, home-style but restaurant-quality Vietnamese food, Hue Kitchen is where to be. I drive all the way from the city just to eat here (and I do so 3 to 4 times a week) - that's how much I like eating here. I usually go for the $10 rice with three options selected from a buffet. Today, however, I decided to order a la carte and chose number 29 on the menu (combination rice vermicelli, prawn and chicken springrolls with charcoal grilled pork and chicken for only $11.90, it came in a very decent size and absolutely delicious).

Was one of the first people to order, ordered simple dishes such as dumplings, and was the last one to receive their dish. The inside was still a bit raw, and the waitress was rude when enquiring where my food was. Their homemade dumplings were watery inside despite being pan fried on the botton.

We had the charcoal squid with green apple salad which was light and tangy and the Vietnamese pancakes which were a bit oily but nice filling and accompanied by lettuce and varieties of mint and chilli dipping sauce.

3 for 10 lunch deals ! Very good value for money and tasty food . Do not get the beautifully presented rice paper rolls . It is basically 90% lettuce .. good for dieting but not worth the money...

Taste wise it was pretty good, portion was okay for the prize too but it was just too crispy so i couldn't really taste much unfortunately. What a disgrace! It's an insult to Huế. They should call themselves rubbish kitchen. The name of this place is very misleading. The food from restaurant is nothing like food from Huế. On the top of terrible fake Huê dishes is the rude service from the male waiter. If I could I would give - 5*. Never come back. Stay clear from this place.

I finally found Vietnamese rice rolls!! The food was so fresh, flavourful and presented well. My partner had the vermicelli with spring rolls and grilled pork and chicken and he really enjoyed it. He said the only thing he would have added to improve the dish was chilli and some Vietnamese mint. My rice rolls dish was packed with fresh vegetables, herbs, toasted peanuts, Vietnamese sausage and chicken loaf and smooth rice rolls. When I mixed everything together, all the flavours and textures worked so well. I will definitely come back and try their other dishes. The food is so cheap too, only about $11 per dish!

LIT: nice, clean store with a wide range of food to choose from. <br/><br/>NOT SO LIT: decided to give this place a few chances because surely you can't stuff up Asian food consistently, but no, I was wrong. Meat is generally cold by the time lunch comes. The beancurd was suggested and it was so bland. If you have read previous reviews that the owner didn't treat the customer right, then yes, I was not the only one.. <br/>

Nice little cafe specializing in dishes from Hue. Didnt try the pancake or the sweet n sour soup and was regretting it when I saw them come out of the kitchen. Went for the ol faithfully broken rice. This was served on a sizzling plate and was really well presented. The meat loaf was fried on one side which was a nice touch and the pork chop was a decent size and well marinated with a good char flavour. My partner had the veg rice rolls, made fresh to order, the tofu cooked straight off the grill. Looking forward to revisiting this one.

Their specialty is central vietnamese cuisine. I tried a few but none are good enough to come back, their seasoning is quite bland. They are new, so it look clean. They are not busy but i dont get why service is slow.

Went there with my brother over the holidays since the layout was beautiful. The food was such a disappointment. There was nothing good that i can point out. My chicken and rice was cold and the meat was chewy and just so unpleasant i didnt finish it. My brothers rice noodles had no meat and we found a bone in one. There was no rice noodles and was just salad. It was so bad we ended up making an exit without finishing it. Then we were confronted by a man who kept asking " WILL YOU COME BACK?". I dont think so.

Don't order the free range chicken salad. I had it and found a chicken neck, two wing tops and bits of bone with very little chicken in the chicken salad.when I called the owner over he said that he can't sell it if he adds more chicken.here's a restaurant tip, don't sell something sub par and call it your signature dish! @$16.90 it was an absolute rip off!

Came here for dinner last night to try their bbh and banh loc. The bbh was flavoursome but did not hit the mark in terms of herbiness. The banh loc was good but not as fresh as i would like. Also ordered a seafood crispy noodles. There was heaps of toppings but barely a fist full of noodles. I would only come back for the banh loc

Ordered No.5, 44 and 49. My Vietnamese frds like them, but they are just fine for me. The pancake is slightly too oily but it tastes good. :3

We were quite pleasantly surprised. I only walked in because I was craving some sour soup, which is rare in restaurants and can be quite expensive if they have it. It wasn't the best soup I've ever had, a little too sweet for my liking and I was disappointed that they didn't have the right herbs, but it was still pretty tasty. My boyfriend's broken rice was delicious, the pork was cooked well and the rice was the right consistency. I would stay away from the squid in the window though, it must've been pretty old because it was really soggy and chewy.

I don't often head out to Springvale.  I associate it with crowds, parking road rage, poorly designed and maintained public areas, and that je ne sais quoi aroma. In the last few months, I stumbled upon a Vietnamese eatery that has impressed me enough that I've got back a few times when I'm in the area.  Hue Kitchen is relatively new, clean and the food is definitely fresh and competitively priced.  Inside, it's bright, clean (did I mention that already?) and spacious - it's unlike the many pho shops nearby that are a bit grotty and cramped. It's owned/run by a Vietnamese family and you can often see their young kids playing around the place, and the owner is a nice guy that's happy to have a chat with you (which is also unlike the other pho shops where the service is often surly or nonexistent).

Hue Kitchen might be fairly new in the Springvale market but they are doing really good. They have offered a good range of both 'bain marie' and a la carte. The '3 choices with rice' is only $10 and I can tell you that it's delicious and super value for the money. I particularly love the stuffed bitter melon soup especially eating this in winter time. The pork chop is great, nicely cooked and fresh. Service is prompt and friendly. I know...Springvale market has got a lot to offer and...Hue Kitchen is one of them that I highly recommend to you guys.

I love banh bot loc and thats the reason i visited this place! not many vietnamese restaurants have this on the menu. Its a prawn and pork tapioca dumpling served with fish sauce. Yummy! Although the viet ice coffee is $6 which i did not order! Rip off

Gotta try their BBH. I love the clear broth infused with vietnamese herbs and spices. Generous serving of side vegetables. The restaurant is small but the decorations made the place looked natural and felt inviting. Service was ok.

Excellent pancake, great noodles, excellent Vietnamese Rolls. We'll be back to try the rest. Owner was helpful in removing pork from everything.

Deviated from my normal Pho Hung Vuong 2 beef special pho and came to try Hue Kitchen.<br/><br/>Alas, I came away slightly disappointed and should've stuck to my favourite pho instead. While the service was really good and friendly, the menu wasn't very inspiring and the execution was very lacking. Food also came out relatively slow (for an Asian kitchen).
