Came here the other night for the first time and...absolutely loved it here. I ordered the fried rice with chicken and crispy chicken with peanut sauce for the kids and they loved it. I then ordered steamed jasmine rice to go with the green curry with chicken (I requested it to be 'Thai hot' and it certainly satisfied my spicy Thai food craving!). To finish off I tried their coconut ice-cream that turned out to be homemade. It was an excellent way to finish the night. The staff were wonderful and attentive and, the ambience was warm and homey. I'm definitely going back to try the other amazing things on their menu.
I visited Baan Thai tonight for a quick bite for dinner and was very happy with the one dish I ordered.
The pad ke mao prawn was not on the menu, but the owners obliged my craving and I was quickly enjoying the spicy, aromatic, sweet and salty combination of flavours that make up this dish, along with the fresh tasty prawns.
These dark green and dark raw brick coloured interiors may have been spruced up at some point recently, but I'm unsure.
Red duck curry - tried 3 times excellent. Consistent. Service fairly good. Easy to get a table. My wife is a fan of Thai and is equally impressed.
Had a takeaway with my boyfriend from here....( thai fish cakes, combination seafood & veg green thai curry with coconut rice and phad thai)
Fish cakes were rather disappointing, chewy and a little flavourless although I'd reckon fresh dining in the restaurant they'd be much better!
Green curry was fantastic! Really tasty fresh and gently cooked! Seafood was melt into the mouth! :) Coconut rice was a bit dry and not very coconutty unfortunately!
Phad thai was tasty although a wee bit too sweet and weren't many prawns (although plenty empty shells!)
Overall we'd have again as it was pretty good albeit the few issues mentioned. Be nice to eat in though and compare the quality :)
Have dined there numerous times. Consistent quality and friendly service. Nothing to complain about. Nice surroundings. Prompt service for lunchtime dining.
Best thai in brisbane. Ive been going here for years and everyone who tries ot agrees ita the best thai in brisbane. Awesone food great service fresh seafood salad is the best
Absolutely beautiful fresh food - with so much flavour!! Staff were wonderful too
Best Thai in the area. We have visited Bahn Thai at Springwood numerous times over the past few years, both dine-in and take away. The food is fantastic and the service never disappoints.
Beautiful, home-style Thai Food. We have been coming here for years now and it all started because The Thai Orchard was too busy to fit us in so we went to Baan Thai. We have never looked back and actually have been hard-pressed to find another Thai place that has this quality. The Chicken Satay sticks are just right, the Stir-fry Chinese Broccoli with Crispy Pork, absolutely out of this world and the service is friendly and prompt. This place may not have the pomp and grandeur of The Thai Orchard, but it is worth the visit. You won't be disappointed.
Excellent dining. Consistently excellent food and service. Pleasant atmosphere, friendly helpful staff. We have been going there for years and will continue to do so.
Love this place. We always have Thai day Friday and the food here never disappoints. I loved every single dish I've tried so far and the entrees are so delicious. Highly recommend!
Lunch date, not first date. A mid-week lunch for 11 was accommodated with ease. Water for the table could have been chilled rather than straight from the tap. The menu is reasonably priced (around $12 for the lunch specials), with enough variety that all 11 could order from the menu with no problem. The portions were generous and everyone was satisfied. The chicken dish had plenty of plump, tender cashews, though the sweetness needed to be balanced with more acidity. We were disappointed that the "free drink" with lunch was restricted to take-away only. This wasn't clear in the information provided with the menu. Overall an adequate, reasonably priced, midweek lunch option. Not one for the first date.
Good food. Food was promptly served and had good flavor and presentation. Service was excellent.
Regulars. We are regulars at Baan Thai after trying many other Thai restuarants, we always find the food delicious and the service fast and friendly, even when busy the wait for your meals is not very long and you don't feel any preasure to leave when finished to clear the table for the next guest. The only complaint is the size of the menu, too many choices.
Highly recomended..
Always fresh seafood and veggies aren't cheap onion, capsicum it's a great mix of everything. Way better than Thai Orchid which is just over the driveway and better than the coast award winning Thai too!
Best Thai Around. This has the best Thai around. It is near a more "well known" thai restaurant and it leaves that one for dead! Everything is immaculately presented, the prices are good and the food is "to die for"!
The best thai in brisbane. This place is so worth the drive! the mixed entree` is what i dream of!! so fresh and well cooked full of flavour. the coconut rice is AMAZING!! Order number 17 beef and the jungle curry soup they are the best. Service is always friendly and the prices are right! we go at least once a month to the one in Springwood and we can't wait for the next time!!
Must try!. I work in the next building from Baan Thai, and I've always looked at it thinking "how does it compete with Thai Orchid?". But one day for lunch I tried Baan Thai, and although they always seem empty, their food is much better than I expected. Their food is healthy and fresh, and I don't think they use too much oil in their food. If you haven't tried their food, you must go try it!
Fantastic food. My personal favorite is the mussaman beef curry. The glutinous rice and coconut ice cream is a particularly authentically flavored dessert. The wait staff are very friendly
Great food, tasted like authentic Thai food that you would buy in Thailand. Fantastic value, relaxed atmosphere, casual dining, would definately go again.
Traditional thai. I believe that Baan Thai is a good representation of what you would find for sale on the streets of Bangkok and that's definitely a good thing. Cheaper than its neighbour the thai orchid it is well worth trying. Restaurant is not as nice as the orchid but the food is great all the same.
It is with great sadness that I report that the last Baan Thai restaurant has closed its doors. The best satay chicken in Queensland.
The owner has retired after working so hard to provide us with such wonderful cuisine.
My friends and I wish him and his wife a happy retirement.
We had dinner at this place two weeks ago. Foods was not really great but ambiance was nice. I did an order as friend rice with chicken. But order came wrong but taste was good. The chef is also really friendly.
Delicious Chilli basil chicken with the minced chicken.
Clean and peaceful lunch in a retro dining room.
The best Thai restaurant for authentic Thai food. Tom yum soup was delicious and the staff are absolutely fantastic.
Our go to place for fast service and beautiful Thai cuisine.
Best mussaman curry and chicken satay skewers ever, toong tong is yummy, good balance of flavour and spices, fast & friendly service
Food was amazing. Service was even better. Beautiful restaurant!
Delicious meal. Both orders were full of flavour. Loved the quiet dining experience as opposed to loud music blasting. Very pleasant and relaxing ambience.
Delicious and flavourful dishes. Fish Barramundi, Fish cake and stir fry chicken will always be my main courses for dinner. 👍 Thanks a lot!
