I have not been back nearly three years so arranged a quick dinner here on last Thursday. Although this eatery is closing at 7:00pm, there were still lots of take-away orders when we arrived at 5:45pm.
Ordered the battered oyster, mussels and scallops, Paua fritter, kiwi hotdog and a Hoki fish fillet with chips. When our orders were ready on the table, we then opened the wrapping paper and were shock at the quantities of food that we ordered. I always love the batter that they prepared that is made of a special recipe – very crispy. Deep fried timing was controlled perfectly. Nearly all of the foods are perfect and tasteful except the Kiwi Hotdog that did not earn my appreciation. Sorry! :(

I admit that I have missed this local gem until I read its reviews and went for exploration last month. When I arrived, the outside of the eatery did not show that it provides a large venue for dine-in. I ordered the Tarakihi Fish, Battered Mussel and Paua Fritter and I have to swear that they serve the best deep-fired fish fillet I ever had in the past. There must be a secret recipe for the batter, which brings the fish and the mussels to another level. The feeling just like you have the prawn chip in your mouth. It will collapse and melt in your mouth after the crispy sound that you hear from your mind. The Paua Fritter was the first time for me as well, the diced paua definitely reminds me that I am chewing and eating the abalone.....Fantastic.
Chips are great, a little greasy but we always order crunchy so it's not too bad. Staff are amazing and the gravy is to die for. Only thing I'd personally love is for them to stock more crumbed fish.
Love this place! Its like I have never left New Zealand lol. This is the best fish n chips place ever. They know how to cook our food thats for sure ha! I'm always here especially after a big night out to grab a caramel thick shake.

Absolutely fantastic food but a bit frustrated when they ran out of most items at 6:30pm at night. They then proceeded to close the shop around us at 7pm on a Friday night. I note that they are your operating hours but you could sell so much more stuff if you were open later. Just think of the customers looking for a feed between the hours of 7-9pm. I would choose your fish and chips over any other commercial takeaway!
Your food is absolutely amazing you should stay open longer so that you can sell more awesome food, coupled with more stock of menu items; we would most definitely be back!
worst thing is lunch time wait because these guys have the BEST fish and chips around!!! I was also impressed and totally addicted to the deep fried bread after one serving! lol I NEVER go anywhere else for takeaway...LOVE you guys :)
I really think this joint has the Best Fish & Chips in Brisbane and the yummiest Raw Fish, great service too! The servings are very generous and could easily feed a family for under $20 and roll out the door lol
The best takeaway food in Springwood/Logan.. This is quite probably the best takeaway food place in the Springwood area. I cannot recommend it enough. Even if you're not looking for some Hangi, their fish, chips and burgers are awesome. The Hangi is sensational. They also stock other NZ sweets and treats as well.
The best thing about this place though? THE PRICE! A $4 serving of chips comfortably feeds a family of four. A $4 hangi pit roll is a great lunch.
Be advised though- expect to wait on a Friday and Saturday night (or just ring ahead and avoid the cue).
The hungi was very tasty and is served in big portions and the fried bread was delicious. Overall I thought it was good value for money and I will definitely be back for more.
Always our go-to garlic chips! Beautiful kai, always satisfied. Yummy burgers! Personal favourite - crab stick! We drive 30mins for hangi pit and is always worth it.
Worth every cent, delicious, fresh seafood, massive portions, crispy chips feels like I'm having a feast in NZ! Beautiful staff!
Best food ever , Hangi and all my seafood was yummy as .. And the people that works there are Good and kind 😍😍 First time eating there on Monday and i’m goin back there next week monday yay 💯💯CHUR!🤙🏻
The food is Soo good and good value will be back again my daughter went there and here was really salty today please don't over salt it

Honestly I/we my whanau absolutely love their kai! And I will happily pay $20 for a punnet of oysters 👍🏽
During Covid, the kai they sell just takes me that little bit closer to home🖤🤍❤️
