Service is always quick, crispy pork banh mi is always my go to but the baked goods like the cassava cake and Vietnamese donut are not to be missed! Unreal for value of money, I hope the staff are paid properly

This place never fails me for my banh mi fix. Delicious bbq pork made fresh with crispy fresh rolls every time.
A great place for a quick and tasty feed. It's always busy but has an efficient numbering system once orders are placed. My main staples are the grilled chicken or mixed hams with meatballs banh mi with extra butter/pate. The bread is just the right crispiness without cutting up the roof of your mouth. For a fulfilling meal, I usually pair it with a pate chaud (banh pate so/mini meat pastry), three color dessert (che ba mau) or hollow donuts (banh tieu).

This is the best place to go for fresh,yummy and tasty Vietnamese bread rolls in Melbourne. Also have really nice ice coffee. The rolls are so crunchy outside and soft inside.
The banh mi here is really good! I get plain, fresh bread rolls here for really cheap ( around 30c each) . But the reason why I’m writing this review is that they sell my absolute favourite dessert here! It’s not on the menu, it’s a special so you might not be able to get your hands on them. I came here on Tuesday afternoon, if that helps.
Pandan slices $3.50: the slices itself are not sugary, instead they’re quite plain tasting with nutty sesame seeds on top and some Pandan essence. The dipping sauce is really the game changer, it’s sweet but has a caramelised taste to it, delicious!!

We are back for an all time favourite pre-adventure meal of on the go Vietnamese bread rolls. With a horse riding adventure in our sights for Emily's birthday month, we decided to have a refreshing bread roll whilst traversing to the other side of Melbourne.
Perhaps one of St Albans' most popular places for breakfast and lunch, this bakery is one of few opened at the crack of dawn at an outstanding 5am. Here, early workmen can savour the insatiable desires of breakfast whilst the often humorous and friendly workers greet and prepare each meal with haste. Today was no different. Ordering the classic ham and grilled chicken roll with a side of custard tart, Emily and I were astounded at just how consistently good the rolls were. The meat is delicious and fresh, the vegies easy to eat, and the patay and butter a perfect compliment to an already great meal.
We will always resort to this place for whenever we want to go on a road trip. The custard tart was also full of flavour and everything was of resounding value. Friendly service as always, highly recommend this place for a staple Vietnamese cuisine done well. Best in St Albans and reminiscent of Vietnam itself!

Cheap, tasty and quick. This is how banh mi should be done. Some places charges way more than this place yet their banh mi are less tasty. Don't forget to add chilli, if you like spicy. They also sells not bad ice coffee too. But they put way too much ice and little coffee. Oh well ...
Nice pork rolls here and roast pork rolls. The system here for ordering is different aswell compared to other places. Look forward to buying fro. Here again
For the most part every time I've had the BBQ pork bun here, it's been delicious. I had one incident where the pork was undercooked. The balance of vegetable and herbs is spot on and the rolls are delicious. A cheap eat, but so tasty and satisfying.
Delicious banh mi, the rolls are always consistent, perfect flavouring and the best portion is great! The service is fast, and the workers are efficient! Fantastic banh mis, if not the best I've had !
All ways come here for the freshest BBQ pork roll and pork puffs which are delicious absolutely hands down the best and freshest pork rolls in Melbourne there is always a line of people waiting for there order here but the service is very. I will be back again next time!🙂🙂🙂

Good banh mi, what can I say? The bread is baked on site or so it appears, fresh and crispy. The toppings are good, I get the vegetarian tofu option. The sauce the tofu is basted in is quite delicious.
The premises appear to be sanitary and the banh mi always comes out within five minutes (often less).
That said, I wouldn't go out of my way to travel here for a simple banh mi, if you are in the area it is a good option.
Fresh Chilli Deli is one of my favorite baguette places to grab a Mixed Ham Baguette. It does get very busy during lunch time but it is made fresh and delicious! It is worth the wait and $5 for a baguette is a reasonable price than getting one at Roll'd or any places in the city as they charge around $8-$10. I love this place :)
Our usual roll place was closed so we decided to try here. All the ingredients are fresh, like our usual roll place except it is so busy here. A range of people come here so they cater to all tastes. Still the same great quality as the last time I went. A little more expensive then our other roll place going at $5.00 a roll instead of $4.00 - but a lot more options.

Yep. You have to go here. Delicious Bahn Mi in crispy rolls with moist pork and a bargain at $5. I am so happy I found this area because I'll be back whenever I can for a cheap lunch or dinner.

What a great place- reasonably price, really efficient and quite friendly. The rolls have that delicious crunch on the outside and soft in the middle and the fish sauce used is divine. We ordered BBQ pork and Vietnamese salad. This place won't disappoint.
Have eaten bahn mi rolls all over Melbourne and these rate the highest. Bread always crisp and fresh. Quality fillings, mixed ham and grilled chicken are a favourite of mine.

The place to go for banh mi!! Reasonable price and efficient service! You pay at the counter, they give you a receipt and wait for your order to be called out when done! Viola...! None of this trying to get the servers attention between squeezing in amongst others.
Muat try the grilled pork banh mi, meatballs and mixed ham one. So much fillings w perfect amount of spread and sauces. crunchy breads that doesn't go al over your top when bitten into.

During December last year my bf and I went to Organ Pipes park and we bought some bánh mì from Fresh Chilli Deli as our picnic lunch. He recommended this bakery because his mum always buys them here. I used to live in St Albans closer to the station side of the Alfrieda shopping strip, so I would buy them at a different bakery. I had time today before a doctor’s appointment in Keilor Downs so I made the drive here after the early traffic rush have died down. The local medical centre is always booked out so I would rather make the trip inter-suburbs. The bakery is already bustling around 10am, with elderly locals chilling at the outside seating. It’s a very common sight to see in St Albans.
Fresh bread, fresh meat and fresh veg...all the ingredients for a great roll.

Great bahn mi. Always get a good roll here. Size is ok, fillings are ample and taste is great. $5 for a roll is standard, you can find cheaper elsewhere but they lack the same quality of Chilli Deli.
Super crispy baguettes, fresh fillings, a good quality home made rich pate and sensible portion of fillings where you could taste the meat and not overfilled with carrot makes this a crowd favorite.
The BBQ meats are hard to go past and the chillies are hot. The system is excellent where the production line never gets anything wrong and even with big crowds, the wait is never too long.

Best in the west. Great banh mi spot. Well worth the trip and better than what you'd find in footscray. What sets it apart is the quality of the baguette itself. Crunchy and golden on the outside, yet fluffy on the inside. Grab a mixed meat banh mi (with fresh chilli of course), a Vietnamese iced coffee to go and tuck in while you make your way down the road to sunshine charcoal chicken for some Spanish grilled chicken if you get as hungry as I do!

Best rolls ever!. Love the smell of freshly baked bagettes! crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside. meatball bagette is the best! only down side is that sometimes they use the same tongs on everything (even the chilli) so sometimes my roll tastes spicy even though i requested "no chilli"

Great Pork Rolls.. Great pork rolls and sandwiches. Would come here again and again. There is only 1 place I prefer than this. The place is called Tan Tan bakery. They are the originals with pork rolls is st.albans and to me, they still are the best.
Hubby been eating pork rolls for over 20 yrs. He bought me a shred chicken roll fm this busy place. OMG was in heaven! Have to have my fix every wk. The coriander, brown onions and chicken and fresh roll its to die for. Cheap and healthy too!

No offence to all viet bakery's but this FCD is the best i mean they have the freshes bread ever, with the ingredients with it but if u see closely how there bread i really home made yeah and i would reccomended to all my audience that they r healthy breakfast rolls ever plus they sell best ice coffee as well.

Where freshness is best. Footscray is usually home to some of my favorite treats. The Vietnamese dried beef (beef jerky in the red or yellow packet), the chicken and curry beef pies at the Victoria Cake Shop, the bbq venison at Star Restaurant and the Vietnamese bbq pork roll at Nhu y deli.
The missus has been begging me for some time to try this out who claims this is "on par" with the Footscray roll we usually order.
So, I ordered the bbq pork roll. On the first bite, I immediately noticed the freshness of the bread. It was light and crispy. Not overly crunchy to the point where it cuts the side of your mouth. I thought it was a winner. Hands down the best "bread" of any "Banh Mi Thit" I've ever eaten.
The ingredients were a different story. Nothing wrong with the ingredients themselves. They are as good as it gets. I tasted bbq pork, hoisin sauce, cucumber, coriander, pickled carrots and radish and chilli. But it was the absence of butter/margarine, aioli, pate and soy sauce that made it an unfulfilling experience. As I peered at my 1/2 eaten roll there was a small hole at the bottom of the incision where the glorious concoction usually resides. I felt there was nothing tying this together.
But you know what? It doesn't mean I can't go there next time and ask for some extras. The freshness of the bread is definitely enough for me to go back there and experiment a winning combination.

My local hot bread bakery! Highly recommend the 'tofu roll' (not on the menu board) and the 'fish cake roll' with fish sauce. Quick and efficient service. Don't confuse the staff or they might get your order wrong :) Pork pastry buns r yummy too.
The Best Baguettes - ANYWHERE. A throw back to a Saigon hot bread kitchen, Fresh Chilli Deli is the real deal. Crunchy Vietnamese/French baguettes with delicious fillings. Try the mixed ham - my personal favourite or the BBQ meat ball skewers. All baguettes come with grated carrot, daikon, coriander, onion and their unique aioli. Chilli is optional - but once you've tasted these awesome baguettes with chilli, no other lunch roll will ever compare again. Unbelievable prices as well - lunch for under $4. If you're in town - this is a must. There's also a Sunshine store in the main street.
Fantastic. This has to be the best place for an authentic Vietnamese baguette. It is a very clean store with fresh meats and salad ingredients for the baguettes. The bread is so crunchy, like no where else I have been to. Every time I go in there is a long line up. One of my favourite places to eat when in Melbourne. I think they also have a store in Sunshine. I'm addicted.
Bread is crisp, but soft and light inside, the meat has a lovely BBQ aroma, vegetables and herbs are fresh and crunchy.

I have been here many times to grab some of their delicious BBQ pork rolls. There is usually a wait as they get very busy at times, however it is worth waiting.
If you haven't stopped by and checked this place out, I highly recommend you do. Try the BBQ pork rolls, you won't be disappointed. 5/5 stars 🌟
Their bbq pork rolls are pretty good, just a little on the dry side.
I prefer the ones from Thys Sandwichs, just a few shops down the road.
I don't think I can find better Vietnamese mixed harm baguette anywhere else than this place in St Albans.
They got the perfect balance between meats and veggies and bread, and it makes it sooo good.
Other places use to make mistake by either too much meat or too little meat, that decreases the final taste of the product quality.
The only negative point is the queue/wait sometimes is too long, depending on time of day.
Highly recommended to try out when you visit St Albans market.
Best Banh Mi place in the West. Been to many banh mi places all over Melbourne and this local gem will always stay close to my heart.
Hardworking and fast-moving staff at Fresh Chilli Deli (Banh Mi Thanh Lan) wake up at 6am to make your favourites fresh out their huge oven. They sell amazing baguettes, tiger breads and pastries, but most importantly their banh mi.
Great to enjoy on a stroll, picnic, after gym or lunch break. For a variety of banh mi for $6, that’s a win for anyone.
Out of their banh mi options, my favourite are the mixed ham, crispy pork belly (thit heo quay), and BBQ pork meatballs (nem nuong). The star of the banh mi has got to be their crispy fresh baguettes. Love how the pillowy carbs soak the sauce they drizzle on. Also their liver pate and creamy sauce is what makes their banh mi so good.

The bread rolls are always good here in St Albans! If you want it to be more tasty order it with extra pate and it will go well with the cold meat roll!
If you're after a banh mi in the west, this is the place to go (or their sister store in Sunshine). The bread is always crispy, their meat packed full of flavour and the veggies are always fresh.
I also love their ordering system of having a dedicated register and then a dedicated window for making the banh mi. It makes things go so much quicker, which is very important considering how busy they are.
I'd recommend their Pate Chaud as well, great little pork pastry that goes excellently with your banh mi.
Caveat for all of those not use to this style of service, sometimes the staff may be rude out of cultural differences or genuinely so, it's a bit a part of the parcel to be honest. Take it or leave it, the food is still great.
One of the best Bahn Mi rolls I have had. At $6 for a pork cracking, it is cracker of a price.
The place does get a little busy so would recommend getting there early in the day.

BBQ Pork banh mí was fresh and well filled with traditional amounts of coriander and spring onion, i did ask for very spicy - think lost in translation or quickness - only got mild at best.
