The Chequers - St. Albans - Photo album

Stopped in chequers whilst getting my car MOT today. And was pleasantly surprised. Was greeted by the manager Daisy who sat us even thou we wasn't booked. She took our drinks order and promptly delivered them. We was then served by the lovely Sandra. Service was amazing. We had steak and was cooked
Excellent! Good pub food and great service. Proper portions, if I'm ordering dessert, I'm not counting calories and the sticky toffee pudding didn't disappoint!
Mid week treat...and It was, too. Initial challenges in identifying menu allergens (staff are not allowed to advise or answer questions about ingredients), so we had to guess/play safe. Service was pretty efficient, food was delicious and vegan dessert was just heavenly. Very reasonably priced too.
Nice pub with lots of outside space with tables to sit. Big carpark so no issues there. Friendly staff and nice bar area. I didn’t eat in the restaurant so don’t know what the food was like, but pleasant surroundings for a drink or two.
Really good pub food with great service. It should be standard fare across all Chef and Brewer pubs and the Chef here seems to be a good one! Would highly recommend this restaurant.
Place immaculate at lunchtime. Excellent welcome and a good wholesome Chef and Brewer menu. Wine list looked interesting. Passing through and very pleasantly surprised.
We had a meal out on Monday night, although the two staff members on shift were very busy, the service was fantastic and couldn't be faulted, the food was of a good standard too. Unfortunately I didn't get the staff members name's but they are a real credit to the company. We will definitely be bac
The food was excellent, staff were very friendly and attentive. The garden is perfect for the warm weather! Overall an enjoyable experience :)
